Hi, my name is Tony lanai.
I am the production designer
on Copper Season Two...
...and welcome to Eva's Paradise.
It's one of our main sets...
...where three of our characters hang out for the most part.
It's run by Franks, she's the lead mistress of Eva's Paradise.
I expect good, honest whoring.
That's all.
This particular intersection in New York...
...there's quite a good selection of artwork done on the period...
...So the shape of the building was taken from that bit of research.
Evening, stranger.
As far as the interior look goes...
...we knew that we would go with dark wood.
Dark is always better on film.
The shape of the stairs had to work within the shape of the building.
It wraps all the way around and then leads to the balcony.
The balcony is where all the rooms are.
At the beginning of Season Two, Eva takes over a business...
...from one of the competitors, name of Buzzing Burke.
And so we have the new furniture and new curtains...
...because her business has been elevated slightly...
...from what it was in Five Points. He's brought a different clientele.
We have a new faro table, which was a game...
...that was very popular during the 1800's.
Shooting the scene, the fight sequence...
...between Buzzing Burke and Cormorant, we had tipped the piano over...
...and put it up on a stand, and then we had to put stunt padding on it...
...because somebody was being thrown into it.
It's always a bit tricky when you're doing a fight sequence.
There's a little bit of danger involved.
All of our lamps are kerosene, all the way around.
They give a beautiful natural light...
...and our director of photography loves them.
It's not here right now but we do have one particular tank...
...that is practical, we can fill it with beer.
Eva, the character, is from Germany.
And so we tried to find some Bavarian furnishings...
...to bring part of her home into North America.
We've never established a home for Eva...
...we've always believed that this is where she lives.
There's a reason my name is on the door, sweetheart.
When I lie down, it's because I want to lie down.
This is also her office. She has paperwork on the desk...
...where she controls the goings on of her two brothels, at this point.
We put her at the very corner of the building...
...So she has a nice view out at the Five Points.
This is one of the other rooms in Eva's Paradise.
We use it for several different rooms.
We play it as If it belongs to particular girls.
So far, Lola has been in this room more than anyone else...
...but again, we'll change it around...
...change some of the bedding and a bit of the furniture...
...and it can become another room somewhere else down the hall.
The viewers might remember this as the room...
...where Molly was killed by Eva.
I know you spent a good amount of energy...
...pleasuring my Cork while I was in New Orleans.
Wait, what did you--
Sad day on Five Points, as far as we're concerned.
