been told so much about.

I'm beginning to think that the stories
about the spirits in pendle might actually be

true in this idea that they can be summoned,
that they can move, that they can follow.

Our journey had
reached it's 4th day and as

the team prepared for
another hectic 24 hours.

We are sent 2 pictures
by hq that were captured

in the famous newchurch
graveyard back in 2015.

Becki, Emma and I are about to head
out to explore this vital location whilst

Charlie & rox make contact with the lady
who captured these incredible pictures.

rox here from the haunted hunts

Hiya yeah ,we've been sent over the images
that you captured at newchurch cemetery.

I was just wondering if we
could get your thoughts on

what they were and how you
came across to capture them?

Erm... yes I used am method called
itc, instrumental trans communication.

Ok.

You can use water, you can use
photographs, you just take the photographs

and then study them to see if you've
captured anything on them basically.

Right ok.

Erm... I've always been interested in
the pendle witches, very into the stories.

Because where I live we have
the cheshire witches as well.

Right ok.

And when I was a lot
younger I was very into wicca.

You know doing the odd
spells and things, it's just

something I've always
been interested in so one day

I went up to you know, pendle
where the witches came from

and just took photos in the
grave yard where I felt drawn to

right ok.

But also there is a rumour that
one of them is buried there so...

Yeah we have heard that rumour.

I don't know how true it is you
know, it's meant to be Alice nutter?

Yeah.

One of those is supposed
to be buried there but I

don't think theres any
proof of it I don't know.

It's just rumoured that
she was buried there yeah.

What do you think are in the images
because to me it looks like a little girl?

girl to me with long hair

wearing like a white shanice,
you know a night gown.

Yes it is crystal clear.

Thats what it looks like to me I just took the
photos, had a look at them, saw whati could

see and then just put them out there to see
if anyone else could see what I could see.

Well I think the pictures certainly
have caused a lot of interest

well yeah, they're clear as day

especially around the pendle
witches and the history of them and

especially the rumours of Alice
nutter being buried on that site.

It is quite interesting.

Where I took the photo of
the girl it's not far from the

Alice nutter grave where she's
supposed to be buried there.

Top of the church yeah.

Newchurch....

Many believe that malkin tower once
stood in this area and it is in newchurch

that old demdike is believed to have
performed many acts of witchcraft.

At the centre of the village
lies st Mary's church and

graveyard and it is here
that old chattox, Anne whittle,

was said to have stolen
human teeth from a grave.

During our interview with historian
and local expert Simon entwistle,

he told US of the nutter
grave and the fascinating

story of Alice nutter,one of
the accused who was hanged.

What I can tell you Daniel is that
out of all the pendle witches, by far

the most famous one, the one thats
shrouded in mystery is indeed Alice.

And why is that Simon?

Because she came from
roughlee hall, a gorgeous,

gorgeous building, she was
wealth, she was educated

but for some strange reason back in
1612, women were denied having a brain.

They had no rights whatsoever
and some men believed that some

women didn't even have a brain
and when it came to male chauvinism,

women suffered terribly in this country.

It has been said, never confirmed or denied
that Alice was very concerned about land

disputes, she'd had a word with Roger nowell
the magistrate, he'd done nothing about it

so she made her way to Lancaster,
walked into the courts at Lancaster

to the words, it's a woman! Woman,
get her out! A woman, get her out!

She held onto the furniture, they
tugged and tugged but she wouldn't let go.

And there judges said,
well let her have her say.

In one day she won legally
and fairly all her land disputes.

But in the court that day was Roger
nowell he was was furious, how dare this

woman go behind my back she's embarrassed
me in front of the senior magistrates

I need revenge! How do I
get revenge? I know, I have a

trump card up my sleeve,
the little girl, jenette device.

With so many sightings at
this location, coupled with

the historic events that
occurred here during the 1600's

our next step on this fascinating
journey would be to investigate the

village of newchurch as we attempt
to back up the many sightings here.

Ok guys here we are at the
famous newchurch graveyard.

This place is absolutely historic.

And there has been so many
things happen here over the years.

And no more so than this here
which is the famous nutter grave.

Now personally, Beck I
don't know how you feel but I

don't believe that Alice
nutter is buried here do you?

I don't know, I'm on the fence about it
I mean, there's an awful lot of rumour

and I kind of always think there's got
to be some historical fact to rumours.

But then equally, evidently
it is the nutter family grave.

So you can understand why
people might think that she would

be buried there and where the
rumour could have come from.

But for me there's just too much of a
gap between the witches we know being

burnt, dying in Lancaster were then
all of a sudden, choose to arrive back

at pendle and to be buried on sacred
ground which if she was really tired

as a witch, she would never have been
allowed to be buried on sacred ground.

Now as you can see someone has
actually laid flowers on there as well

erm... that is how much
this grave means to

people who visit this
area now, one of the most

key moments that has
happened here for me is the fact of

chattox, Anne whittle coming
here, documented reports

of her actually stealing
human teeth from the graves.

That happened back in the 1600's, it's
documented on Thomas potts account

now Charlie & rox are currently
back at the hotel, they're speaking to

a lady who captured the most
incredible pictures in this grave yard.

And it would be really
interesting to know how she

captured them and also
what she thinks of them.

It is very, very atmospheric
here guys isn't it?

be in this graveyard, with Roxanne.

Charlie and I are gonna
head down and we are being

currently set up by hq to film
at the basement of number 17

which is said to be extremely active.

This is where the atmosphere
really starts to hit home, in

a place like this that is so
historic and so incredible.

Obviously just on the church
as well is the eye of god which is

said to ward off evil
spirits and witchcraft

and that was carved
into the stone here.

I really do think that using the
right techniques in here tonight

I don't think we should be calling out.

I think it should just be a case of talking
amongst ourselves, listening, using the

thermal and see if we can capture any movement
whatsoever, any unexplained heat sources

or cold spots

and just kind of see how it goes.

As we continue to explore newchurch I
receive a welcome call from hq who have

been working tirelessly to gain US access
to the historic basement of number 17.

Which lies just at the back of
the graveyard, they also inform me

that 2 modern day witches will
be joining US on our investigation.

Ok so we have literally just got off
the phone to hq and I'm extremely

excited right now because not
only have we been given permission

to investigate this basement tonight.

Which is in a house
that is said to be

active, the owner here
is experiencing stuff

in the house, Charlie and I are
gonna come down here tonight,

I'm so happy that this is
happening but that's not all.

Hq have literally just organised
2 modern day witches to meet

US here tonight and I am going
to be face timing them later on

that looks spooky down there.

This has just hit another level of wow.

Like the atmosphere just
coming out of that is weird.

Following the news from
hq that not only have we been

granted permission to investigate
the basement of number 17

but also that 2 modern day
witches would be joining US, I take the

opportunity to interview the 2 ladies
about performing a possible ritual.

Erm... so yeah basically
we'll be doing a ritual

and the ritual will
include US working

with the elements which
we always work with

we'll be calling upon the
ancestors and the spirits of the

land in the space to come
forward and communicate with US

and lift the veil.

Yeah and lift the veil yeah erm...

So basically we are modern witches and we
use a large range of the different witchcraft

groups that are out there like wicca and
pagan, we use like a mixture of them all,

erm.. Because we find it
better that way don't we?

Yeah, yeah an to go
with that gut instinct more

yeah.

Because we work with spirit
rather than like textbooks,

everyones different though
aren't they, if they want to...

So we're looking forward

We arrive back at the hotel
and begin preparations ahead of

what will be one of our most
unique investigations to date.

Our journey had now reached it's
midway point and I had just been

informed that the following night we
would be heading to saddlers farm.

During our walk around at the barn
in barley the day earlier, our research

team contacted US claiming that they
had found the exact site of malkin tower

and it is now occupied by a
location called saddlers farm.

Alright that was hq,
apparently they have found

what they believe to be
the site of malkin tower

now I know this was supposedly one of
the sites and the other one in blacko but

apparently they're convinced it's this
place called saddlers farm in newchurch.

Think I've heard of that.

Yeah and a couple there have
given US permission to investigate, they

moved in in January and they've
been experiencing paranormal activity.

We would set out the following
day to investigate but for tonight,

we would concentrate all our
efforts on this key area of pendle.

Alright guys tonight we
had to the famous newchurch

grave yard and we have
been granted permission

to investigate the basement
of number 17 which is said

to be a very, very big
hotspot for paranormal activity,

now the lady has said
that she's been hearing

all sorts from down in
that basement, luckily

hq have set US up tonight
with 2 modern day witches

who are gonna be conducting
a ritual with me and you.

Nice.

So, no idea what to expect from that,i
spoke to them before they seem cool but

I've never taken part in anything like
this before so I've no idea what expect.

You 3 are gonna be investigating
the actual graveyard where Christine

captured those pictures now I know
you both spoke with Christine today

what did she have to say?

She was shocked with
what she actually caught.

It's that clear.

The pictures are incredible but

erm... so really looking
forward to that, we'll head out

we'll use full spectrum
cameras, thermal imagers we'll...

Thermal in the grave yard would be good.

Yeah, definitely because who
knows what you'll catch in there.

It's said to be one of the biggest
hotspots in the area of pendle,

alright guys so lets get some food
and then we'll head out cool, lets go.

Upon arriving in newchruch
the team immediately

split with Charlie and I
greeting the 2 witches

before heading over to number 17.

Becki, Emma & rox made
their way into newchurch

graveyard, armed with
the thermal imaging camera.

Where they would spend the next
few hours trying to document visual

evidence after the incredible
pictures we had seen that morning.

Meanwhile Charlie and I
would be observing a real

life ritual conducted by
the 2 modern witches.

We would be using the
paranormal puck device

which would be placed
next the ceremony table,

and would measure any
changes in the atmosphere,

would this ritual spark off
any paranormal occurences?

And would our theory that the spirits here
follow and flock to our energy be proven?

We were about to find out.

Katie, Sarah, thank you so much for agreeing

ritual for me, so I understand that you're
both modern day witches is that correct?

Brilliant, guys we are here in
newchurch in pendle which is one

of the most famously paranormaly
active locations in pendle hill.

Erm... the reason I have asked you to come
down into this cellar today is because

the lady who lives here has been
witnessing all kinds of paranormal activity

and obviously newchurch graveyard
is just towards the back over there.

So when I spoke to you this
afternoon Katie you said that you

can perform sort of a summoning
ritual would that be correct?

Yeah, yeah.

Ok so can you guys explain a little
bit about what you're going to do?

So basically it's just like a
ritual calling upon the elements

and the ancestors of the land
and the spirits around here.

And yeah we'll be asking them to
come forward and summon them.

Fantastic, so obviously you guys have
brought some black candles with you as well

erm... what have done, whether you know about
paranormal investigation equipment or not

I have armed the paranormal
puck device which is

an instrumental trans
communication device now

when you're going to be
performing the ritual, this

will be measuring the
atmosphere around you guys

and if anything comes
through I can ask questions

and it is connected to
the software on my phone

now if anything comes through
we will hear that come through

and the idea here is if you guys
are able to summon something

then we will have hard evidence of that.

And Charlie & Dan are in the cellar of
number 17 with 2 modern day witches erm...

God only knows what they're
up to and what they're doing.

And we are in the graveyard.

Which is a bit of a hotspot.

Yeah for apparitions and sightings and...

Yeah we managed to speak to a woman
earlier who managed to get 2 images

by a grave site so obviously use
the thermal imager and see if we get

anything on it.

And it is quite a big
church yard, graveyard.

Quite expansive.

And obviously it goes all the way up

to the top.

To the church.

Now Alice nutters grave is
supposedly in this graveyard

her family's buried
here as well aren't they?

Yeah.

Whether it is her grave
or not is to be debated.

Those photos are
amazing thought aren't they?

Yeah.

And they're quite well
known those photographs.

It's quite, considering it's
quite a windy week this week,

theres been quite a lot of
wind every night that we've been

shooting

it's very peaceful.

It is quite peaceful.

I don't think we'd say that if we
were on our own though would we?

would be a different story.

gone really weird in here.

Its feeling like a suppressing feeling.

completely changed darker.

There's so much history here though

Like some of these graves date
back hundreds and hundreds of years.

we have no explanation for this
as there is no one else in this area.

Within minutes of this happening a
surge of paranormal activity begins to

occur in the basement of number 17.
We have enhanced the sound for you.

We have just received the word
malicious through the paranormal

puck just minutes after a
disembodied growl was heard.

What were we dealing with here? Had
the ritual attracted a negative entity?

Take note of this moment
because over the next couple of

days our journey is about
to take a very sinister turn.

I'm capturing like a weird light every now
and again at the far end of the graveyard

but I can't see it, I can only pick it
up on the ir there, it's flashing at me.

How weird.

But I can't see anything with my
own eyes, there's no lights at all

erm...

No it's pitch black.

Yet on here... Emma just come and look.

Can you see it flashing you see there?

Yeah.

There it goes.

How strange.

I've no idea what that is because theres
literally no lights flashing at all.

And it's really bright at times.

We later debunk this
strange light as a reflective

streamer which had
been caught in a tree.

With nothing further occurring in
the basement, the 2 witches leave the

investigation and I begin takin
pictures on our full spectrum camera.

Just before the witches leave, I
decide to ask them something.

Can I ask you both, do you believe

the spirits of the pendle witches
could still possibly be here?

Yeah, do you?

I suppose they would still be
tied to the land wouldn't they?

Yeah definitely.

Do you believe it's
possible that they can follow?

And move with groups of
people that they are attracted to?

Yeah I think they could go home
with you, is that what you mean?

More of, if we were to move around

to different places around the area that
they are obviously attracted to, could

they come with, could they move for example
into here now and then move with US?

Yeah, yeah.

They're like attracted to
US because we've called

upon them to follow US
type of thing, to come to US.

you have done here tonight

could attract

any type of entity
including dark entities?

I picked up dark when I got in
here a black thing running around.

It was really quick, it ran, I don't
know if it was an animal or something.

Theres no animals in here.

So you picked up on a black dark mass?

animal maybe or a dark mass.

Thats what they said
the itches of pendle used,

they summoned
elementals top do their work.

The devil would pose as
things like hares and black dogs

and stuff like that and
they would speak and theres

documented accounts of that
happening in 1612 and earlier.

That was one of the weirdest
experiences of my life.

The minute they started doing
that and I'm not just saying

this, the atmosphere in
here just completely dropped.

Changed yeah.

You got more of the
sense of a darker presence

you know what I mean?
The feeling of it was like

dreaming.

I can't get over that growl.

It was right next to you there.

Growling sound as soon as the puck brought
through a response and then malicious.

It just backs up what
we've heard and hopefully

we've captured it on
the audio on the camera.

It feels, it just feels
what, this is day 4

now, we've spent 4
days here and this is now

this is now starting to get a bit
crazy, this is now starting to get weird.

And what they were saying at the
end about following US and everything

like that it's just, everything just
starting to become a bit weird.

Ewe've got the full
spectrum camera on US now

I'm gonna snap some
pictures in this doorway.

I swear to god I saw something
behind her at one point.

But so did the young girl she said

that she thought she saw
something outside standing there.

Now have you witnessed what she's seen?

What did you mean malicious what does

this building? What happened above US?

The lady who lives here
tells me that she can hear you.

Are you one of the accused
or are you somebody else?

Just because of whats come through the
puck, the growling sound we had as dvp.

Now if we can try and get something

that something thats attached

point now where I'm really

starting to freak out
because it's almost like

if there is something following
US, if theres something aware

that we're here and they're
attracted to what we're doing.

Especially if we've been calling

The amount of paranormal
investigators that come here night

after night after night and
conduct things that we're doing here

yeah.

To them it's like another
way of reaching out to US.

At this moment we capture 2
interesting pictures on the full spectrum

camera and only realise this when
Charlie reviews them the following day.

Just as Charlie and I are
discussing about other paranormal

investigators coming to pendle,
we capture the following 2 pictures.

Look closely at the area
we have highlighted as a

small white mist seems to
move through the doorway.

These 2 pictures are taken 2
seconds apart and we do not

believe this is lense flare
from Charlies cameras ir light.

It is very possible that this
could be dust and we are

not deeming it to be
paranormal, what do you think?

Ok so we've moved again.

And we are now right at the top.

Of the graveyard looking down.

And we are stood

right next to the grave
that is supposedly behind

rox there it is supposedly

the grave of Alice nutter.

So we'll spend a bit of time here now.

See if we get anything.

We've got a very good

view right down over the grave yard here.

It's a lot better up here cos
you can see much clearer.

Theres not as many headstones.

Part of the headstones warm.

I didn't notice it.

So warm, it's really weird isn't it?

There's a headstone randomly
down there and it's glowing isn't it.

Wow.

I wonder if that's

whether it's been in the sun
more than the others or something.

Could be different sort of materials.

The slate rather than the stone.

Its strange that isn't it?

It's glowing far more
than any of the others.

That is weird.

Because even that's not.

Does look like it's just that one.

it goes back to normal.

It's still really peaceful sphere though.

I wouldn't use the word peaceful.

I'd use the word quiet not peaceful.

We were saying before
there is an awful lot of debate

about whether this actually is

the grave stone of Alice nutter

or not.

And whether her standing in society and

the wealth that she came from.

Allowed her remains
to be brought back here.

Cos we know for definite that

those accused and tried

were burnt.

All that took place at Lancaster.

But potentially maybe her
remains were brought here or...

You never know do ya.

There's so much mystery around pendle.

So much mystery and thats the whole that

you've got lots written down
haven't ya and lots of stories but...

What is the truth yeah?

Were they witches?

Were they completely
innocent and actually victims of

peoples paranoia.

Or were they just what people
these days would call healers.

Yeah.

People use stones and herbs

or did they just do wrong to people by

they got on the wrong side of people so...

That's how they were treated.

They were, they were,
the easiest option was to

accuse them of witchcraft
and get rid of them.

Because they were causing a nuisance.

To people.

After taking over 200
pictures on the full spectrum

camera, Charlie and I decide
to conduct an sbox session.

And it is at this moment we
are about to receive one of the

clearest responses we have
ever had in a spirit box session.

I want to know who
made the growling sound?

Who is malicious what does that mean?

witnessed mind blowing
and intelligent communication.

Our investigation at newchurch in
pendle has just taken a crazy turn but

with nothing further coming through
and nothing happening in the graveyard,

the team join up at number
