of the wild-card round, team texas and team cali

faced off against each other, and texas won.

Now, this week is going to be kentucky and wyoming

facing off against each other in the wild-card round.

Jim and marybeth are the team leaders for kentucky.

They for sure got the talking part figured out.

I feel like I got everything for everybody here.

How many of 'em are real street racers?

this year, team kentucky's got some brand-new faces,

but marybeth and her son ain't no stranger to the street.

They've actually came to memphis and raced with us.

They know this kind of street racing.

we don't care.

marybeth is only one of the team leaders.

She's not actually a driver, but she's doing her part.

Kentucky may not have the fanciest cars out there,

but I feel like they got what it takes to win

and know how to get a win.

So now we're going to come out on top of this.

We're not going to underestimate wyoming.

We don't know for sure what they all have,

but we know what we have.

So we're going to go up there. We're going to run our race.

We're going to do our job.

We're going to come back and collect that money.

Kentucky drew wyoming first out of box.

They haven't ever raced with j.J.

They don't know anything about the street hustle.

But the thing that I know is the street,

and we're gonna hustle them out of the win.

If we can't beat them heads-up,

and in every one of them, we know we can,

we 're gonna hustle them out of it,

and they'll be educated on the street when we're done.

Drive for your life to get to the other end.

It don't matter what lane you're in.

We don't care as long as we're first to that line down there.

Kentucky and their trash-talking marybeth

are going to be going up against wyoming.

They're going to have their hands full.

It's not just going to be trash-talking.

It's going to be some racing.

Joey, the team leader from wyoming,

is in his own backyard, his own streets.

That says a lot.

And they got some fast hot rods, not to mention,

I've seen some of their dudes make some fast passes out here.

I've seen on this street so far.

And mario, he got the power.

If he can put all of it to the ground,

they're going to be fast.

But wyoming, I've never seen them race in the streets,

so I don't know how much they know about the arm drop.

We're getting ready to find out.

Both teams will fill out a run list of eight,

and the other team don't know

what order they put their cars in.

And if neither team wins eight,

then both teams will go back

and they will fill out a run list of seven.

The first team that wins eight races

advances to the next round,

plus gets 20 racks and the $2,000 that they locked up.

And a chance to win $100,000 in the end.

How these teams fill out their run order list of eight

could be a make-it-or-break-it for that team.

Our advantage for tonight is the fact

that we know that arm drop.

We know that starting line.

Wyoming's never raced an arm drop.

We're gonna be hustling some people

out of a win and their money. That's the goal.

So are we going to stay, like, in the left lane

and they take the right lane? Or how does this work then?

I'm not even sure.

and he's going to use that line, so we know our win.

Every time we get somebody on that little hustle,

but they don't listen closely in the drivers meeting.

We're gonna hurt somebody's feelings.

Looking at their cars, I see a lot of small blocks.

I see a lot of turbos.

It doesn't look like anybody's got any crazy setup.

So even on their best day,

I feel like, you know, they don't have anything for us.

who we're lined up with.

Being this is - our hometown road up here,

they have nothing compared to what we've been running

on this road here in the last couple of weeks, regardless.

because as the leader, if he could have pulled

that win off for his team, it would have put them up one.

that kentucky is going to take advantage of that.

We were hoping to just come out here

and annihilate them because our cars

are definitely a lot faster than what they brought.

where we're at, the location, the altitude is a lot higher

than what we're used to, and we've been having to tune

on our cars every day to get them to where they'll launch.

Mine hasn't been as finicky as the rest of them

because I run alcohol on the motor

and then I spray gas and nitrous in on top of it.

But I think I've got a pretty good handle on it.

in the wildcard round.

So that could be a disadvantage for scott.

All in all, I felt like it was a great race night.

All the racers got plenty of data,

but they're going to need it

because race night is just around the corner.
