All language subtitles for Episode 04 George & Dragon

Previously on the haunted hunts.

We're heading over now to the other
side of the city to visit a location that

is the oldest coaching inn in Chester,
we're gonna meet the manager there

and speak to a staff member who has
had all types of paranormal experiences.

You'll never guess what?

So, we've just been doing
a little tour around the city

yeah?

Visiting different places and
we went to a local graveyard

yeah?

And there, there's a grave
stone with her name on.

Are you serious?

That says Mary Ann Cameron.

Told ya, she's a spirit of the city.

Aggression.

Does that mean somethings
going on with Dan in room 11?

Ok that's picking up on a 5
degree drop in temperature,

my god what thehell was that!?

Really starting to feel the affects
of consecutive investigations.

We've got another busy day ahead today,
I'm gonna wake Beck up shortly, we've

gotta head over to the far north side
of the city to the George and dragon

which is said to be really, really active.

It's said to have the sound
of marching in the basement.

Then we've gotta check in with hq and
see if they need US to go anywhere else.

I think I'll leave the team here today,
Charlie, rox and em, reviewing everything.

Let's do this.

Our journey continues and after 3 nights of
investigations, we are heading to the far north

of the city to the George and dragon pub which
is situated just outside of the north gate

and is built on the old Roman road into Chester.
It was Roman law that soldiers were not to be

buried within the city walls and it is believed
many were laid to rest just outside the north gate

exactly where the George
and dragon now sits.

Jeremy is the manager of the George
and dragon and I was eager to speak to him

about the supposed paranormal activity
that is said to occur at the location.

Jeremy you're the manager here
at the George and dragon and I

have to admit we are coming
into this investigation a little blind

we don't know much about the
location, we've heard rumours of course

erm...but you're the manager here
I understand that you lived on site.

I do, I do yeah.

Erm... so I was just
wondering have you actually

ever witnessed any
paranormal activity here?

I'm a bit of a sceptic in terms of you
know, i'm, I've never really given ghostly

things much time I'll be honest, I'm a bit
of a sceptic but I've been here 4 years

and when I came here I was
aware off the rumours so some hotel

rooms upstairs are apparently
haunted, the cellars haunted

and I thought nothing it and I'm not

scared and I'm not
bothered about it at all

but when the pub closes at night and and
and you're on your own, pubs make lots of

noises and I've never seen anything yet but
I sit downstairs in the cellar in my office

and all of a sudden I have to think, did I
hear something then? And I have to get

up off my chair and wander around and
have a look and see if I can find anything

because I keep hearing stuff so, you think nothing
of it and you sit back down and then you're

up and down again and again and again and all
of a sudden you realise, this can't be me.

So I've never seen
anything but I hear stuff.

What is it you actually hear?

I just hear stuff moving so it's
like, it's like stuff falling off shelves

and stuff moving and so I go back and I
see where the noises roughly come from

which will be at the
other side of the cellar,

which it's quite a big
open cellar downstairs

and I'll look around
and everything's still

in it's place but I'll
definitely hear stuff

and then, and then, and
then recently what I've

done is I've been staying
in some the hotel rooms

just to try them out to
see what they're like for our

guests and what have ya
to say I've stayed first hand

and you hear stuff all night walking up
and down the... walking up and down,

walking up and down the erm... walking
up and down, up and down the corridors.

So what you get is, you've
got responsibility as a

manger to stay over and
facilitate like fire regulations

of course yeah.

But, but I hear stuff and I'm
like, I open the door and I walk

out, I look up and down the
corridor and there's nothing there

and nobody's been and a couple of
weeks ago on a sunday night I was

staying over and there was no
hotel rooms in and I heard it all night

and I got out of the bed
several times and I went, right

I'm gonna tell these customers
to go back to bed and behave.

Yeah.

Because they're disturbing
me and I went down and

I couldn't find them and it
happened a couple times

and then the next morning I went downstairs
and I checked my hotel register because

I thought I had guests there but I didn't,
I had no guests, the hotel was empty.

So you were here on your own but
you were hearing footsteps upstairs?

Yeah so, so I was in the hotel.

The hotel was actually empty but
there was movement out on the thing so

normally I'd attribute it to other
guests making noise and what have ya.

But there wasn't, there was
absolutely no guests in the building.

Jeremy as a sceptic

yeah?

How do you feel when you
experience stuff like that.That you can't

really explain? Does it make
you question yourself? Does it....

Right so I'm a really logical person.

Of course.

So what I will do is I will try and find
a logical answer to it, was it the water

boiler, is it a window that's been left
open that the weathers blown it or something

you know, I will search for logical
answers to unexplained things.

But... and its really peculiar when
you start running out of logical answers

to those unexplained things it's really
bizzarre and you then start to question

your own sanity to
be honest but that's all,

I never see anything,
hear stuff all the time.

Jeremy you spoke to our hq, you very kindly
agreed for US to investigate this location

tonight, there are rumours that down in the
basement there is the sound of marching feet

coming through the basement
and we believe that this

location is possibly built
on an old Roman burial site

do you know much about that or not?

I've hear the rumours so, so Chester obviously
is an old city known as 'deva' in Roman

times and the walls surround the city and we
are just on the ring road outside of the walls

and apparently you didn't Bury
the people that were, that died

in the city in the city, you
buried them just outside the walls.

Yeah.

And we are, we are on a major junction and in
fairness now the pub is actually located within

a traffic island so it does kind of make logical
sense that there would have been some kind of

burial place down below but that is the rumour
and you know, I'm sure there's historical records

you know within the city walls in some of the
archives that will probably demonstrate that yeah.

Brilliant.

back to our hotel now, get the team

Beck and I decide to check
out the rest of the location.

It is at this point we bump in to one
of the cleaners who does not wish

to be filmed but she tells US of her
experiences at the George and dragon.

Yeah, there's couple of rooms
but room 30 particularly is

quite an eerie room, our
cleaning cupboards right near it

and quite often as we go to the
cleaning cupboard you kinda step back

because you feel like somebody
has just walked past the window...

Really?

In the room.

How long have you worked here?

Erm... coming up 5 years now.

Really? And you've
experienced these things?

Yeah quite a few times to the point that
I'm used to it now, I don't look back but I

quite often used to step back and be like,
did somebody just walk past that window?

My god serious?

Yeah.

What do you think of this place?

It's very different to some
of the other places we've

been looking at but erm...
there is a bit of a weird vibe.

Yeah definitely, you
can sense the history of

this place really but
speaking to Jeremy there...

Some pretty interesting phenomena
and the fact that he's sceptic as well.

Yeah. Yeah.

That works quite well.

Really interested in the noise
that he's hearing in the middle of the

night up on the corridors when
there's nobody else in the building.

And obviously all the rumours
about the marching through the cellar.

Yeah.

We are gonna have to approach this investigation
tonight completely differently than we've ever

approached any other investigation because of
the amount of audio phenomena that's occurring

are people putting 2 and 2
together? We are on a very busy road.

Yeah.

Erm... you know, are people just presuming
that's what they're hearing but also

if we are gonna be trying
to communicate with romans

they're not gonna understand US.

No, I think 2 things for tonight, I think

1 we should definitely try and set up
audio up here, see if we can capture

the sounds up on the corridors so
maybe just get some evp's up here.

Locked off cameras and stuff yeah.

But, down in that cellar...

What if we were to get
like some Latin chanting?

My god that might be a good idea.

Yeah like, like battle cries
in Latin or something like

that and see whether we
can, cos it's gonna be residual.

Whatever it is down there is gonna most
likely be residual, we're not gonna be

able to intelligently communicate with
it so let's try and stir it up with some

erm... you know like Latin and things
that they would understand and stuff.

Well like you were saying before
as well, the Roman foundations

would have been 6 feet
below the cellar that's there now

so...

Maybe not 6 feet.

Well... whatever.

Typically when you get
things like this happening, they,

they, when people see them,
they're at like knee height.

So they're a couple of feet
below our current foundations.

Just marching through.

We need to do our research about this place
and I know the perfect place for US to go so,

spoke to hq yesterday and they told me of the
erm... the dewa Roman experience it's called.

Yeah.

It's right in the city centre
and it specialises in the Roman

history of Chester, it might
be worth heading over there

speaking to one of the historians, the
experts there and finding out whether

it's true about the Roman soldiers being
buried outside the north gate which would have

been right here, see if they've heard
anything or if they have any factual evidence

yeah we could do with
some like historical records

yeah.

To show that that is the case but
also they may be able to guide US

on what we could use to provoke
the residual energies downstairs.

As we are about to head back into the city centre
I receive a call from Charlie who is back at

the hotel with Emma and rox going through the
footage from our investigation at the pied bull.

Charlie tells me that something incredible
has been captured on our locked off camera

which was placed down in the basement and so
we immediately head back to view the footage.

Reviewing the footage from the pied bull
when me and becks were in the cellar, we

haven't caught it on the portal but what
we have caught on camera is like a girl.

A little girl whining, making
a whining noise listen to this.

That definitely doesn't
come through the portal

it's mad that that hasn't

We were hearing all
sorts down there, all sorts.

we've actually caught.

Right that is crazy erm... we have found
out some mad stuff at the George and dragon

haven't we? We have got to go to a place
called the dewa Roman experience now,

it specialises in Roman history, I need to
brief all of you tonight because what me

and Beck have discovered, its gonna be
a really difficult investigation this one.

So, carry on going through
everything, you found

out anything more about
the Mary Ann situation yet?

No we're still researching

its hard to try and find stuff.

It appears that nobody
seems to know much about her.

I knew that woman was
weird, I knew she was weird.

Becki and I arrive at the
dewa Roman experience

which is a Roman
museum the heart the city.

The museum specialises in Chester's
Roman history and even has archeological

remains of Roman structures and sits on
the very site of an ancient Roman hospital.

We are about to speak to a staff member
at the museum to see if they can shed

more light on Roman soldiers being
buried outside the north gate of the city.

John, thank you so much for
coming to talk to US, I had absolutely

no idea that this place even
existed. It is amazing in here.

You are one of the tour guides
here and I understand that you're

very clued up on the Roman
history of Chester is that correct?

Yes I've been a tour
guide for, well... here in

Chester for about 8 years
doing Roman tours yes.

Brilliant.

30 years ago I was one
of the archeologists that

dug one of the holes
down at the far end so...

In this building?

In this building yes.

Wow! That's amazing I
mean you must've been

amazed to discover what
you've discovered here.

Yes

erm... like all over this building there's
obviously you know, the old remains of...

The archeology here is
fabulous there's the complete

history of Chester on
the other side of that wall.

It's amazing, what
actually was this building?

Well, before... well....
erm, it's latest it was I

think a motorcycle repair,
erm... vehicle repair shop.

Erm... the Saxon floor
next door was cut by the oil,

spare oil tank that they
had just over there so...

Really?

You can see the dent in
the ground still and then

we're standing in the cellar
of an 18th century house.

Wow!

Erm... and then there is a 16th
century house, a 13th century

house, there is a 10th century
hut just the other side of that wall.

And then we get back
to the Roman and about 3

or 4 inches down there
there's a Roman road.

Wow! So there is literally hundreds
and hundreds of years of history here?

Nearly 2000 years of
continuous occupation right here.

Wow, so obviously during
the Roman times, what

would this have been
used for do you know?

We know that there is a building
just there, you can see part of

the end wall and that may well
have been the legionary hospital.

The.

Seriously?

Yes.

Wow!

That's incredible erm... John what we are
doing, we are here in Chester filming a

paranormal documentary to find out whether
Chester is the city of spirits if you like.

Erm... we have just been
filming at the George & dragon

pub which is on northgate
do you know where I mean?

Yes.

Brilliant, now there are rumours of...

The sound of... how do
I describe this? Almost

Roman soldiers marching
through the basement there

and we are lead to believe it is
built on an old Roman burial site.

Now I wanted to speak
to you as someone

who knows huge amounts
about Roman history,

is that correct?

Yes.

It is?

Erm... the north gate today
was the site of the Roman north

gate, the site of the north
gate of the legionary fortress.

A road ran out of that, more or less along
the lines that it does today. So there would

have been a Roman road running past the George
& dragon and on either side of that road

would have been the cemetery.

Erm... according to
Roman law, you couldn't

Bury people inside the
place where people lived.

Right ok.

Romans don't like ghosts
wandering around their houses.

So they actually believed in...

Yes! Yeah 4 times a year your
house would be full of ghosts.

They had yes, yeah all
your relatives from, yes

all your relatives would
come and visit you.

Wow, so, so in your opinion,
your expert opinion, the

George & dragon sits on
a burial site of the romans.

Yes it's in the middle of
a Roman cemetery yes.

Wow!

Now, I don't know whether you believe in
the paranormal or not, that's fine, but...

Could you give US any advice on
how to possibly gain evidence that

there are indeed Roman soldiers
marching through the basement there?

Is there any particular way we
could try and communicate with them?

Erm...

Well historically the romans would
tend to get upset if you upset the dead.

Right.

Erm...

The Roman religion revolves around

communication with
spirits erm... so, erm...

You could try and offer them some
food, if they're Roman soldiers trying to

offer them some beer or indeed some
wine would probably illicit some response

if there is a response to
be had yeah, the erm...

It is, it is one of the bits of Roman law
that has survived and it's bit of Roman

law that goes right back to the foundations
of Rome that you don't disturb a grave.

Ok.

And if you do disturb a grave,
bad things will happen to you so...

Erm... you know, it's... well again if you're a
poor person you can be executed and if you're a

rich person, even if you're a rich person you can
be banished to an island to starve to death so...

You know.

My god.

Don't... I mean obviously,
obviously that's Roman law, that,

that's the law that erm... but
yeah the Roman's were very erm...

Erm...

They believed that the world was
alive, that there were spirits everywhere,

erm... you had spirits in your house,
your actual house itself was alive.

Erm... so you would have a little you know,
in your bedroom you'd have a little alter and

you would you know, make sure your house spirits
were happy otherwise your roof would leak.

When it rained.

My god.

And the roof here leaks
when it rains so perhaps

we need to look up on
things but there we go.

Becki had a fantastic idea at
the George & dragon earlier

that possibly using Latin
erm.. Could provoke something.

Well if you want to
communicate with them then

yes Latin is what you're
going to have to use.

Yes they're certainly not going to
be able to speak modern English.

Well that, that's the problem we
thought we'd have really because

and then they may almost
mistake you for German

barbarians, that wouldn't
be particularly good.

so much erm... I do have 1

quite strange question to ask
you actually before we leave erm...

Since we've arrived in this building, now
I'm not a psychic, I don't get any type of

sensitive feelings to do with hauntings, I'm
actually quite skeptical and scientific based

but there is the most
overwhelming atmosphere in

this building, Beck do
you get what I'm saying?

Yeah it's definitely got a bit of an
atmospheres bit of a strange atmosphere

it almost feels like no
matter where you go, you're

sort of being watched from
the corners of each room.

Are there any rumours about
this building being haunted?

There are members of staff who will
say that things have happened here yes.

Yeah, yeah.

Really?

Yes one of them is on the front
now you could ask her, she'll tell

you some stories and indeed
one of the managers as well has...

So have there been sightings here?

There... things have
happened you know yes.

We have just found out some very interesting
facts about the Roman occupation of Chester and

we would need to take some of this information
into our investigation at the George & dragon.

One thing we did not expect was for John to tell
US the dewa Roman experience itself was haunted

and this vital piece of information had just
opened up a whole new chapter to our journey.

John goes on to tell me that
huge amounts of paranormal

activity has been
witnessed inside the building.

That was fascinating,
we can use so much stuff

for tonights investigation
with what he said

but my god Beck it feels
atmospheric in this building.

Do you know what I found
really, really fascinating was

when he was talking about
you don't mess with the dead.

We're gonna have to actually remember that
and make sure we're very, very respectful,

very careful when we are trying to communicate
with anything we think might be Roman.

Yeah, definitely, definitely
no provocation anything

like that, just completely,
my god I feel so like...

I just, from the minute I've
walked into this room I just feel like

there are people watching US
and it feels really weird in here.

It's definitely got a weird vibe I'll give
you that but don't forget you've got lots

of mannequins around that are watching ya,
you know you've got open excavation sites

with loads and loads of history,
you can definitely get a sense

of the history in here, it's
bringing the history to life.

But...

He even said that the staff
here have experienced things.

Yeah.

And you've got just down here
you've got Saxon floor, you've got

an 18th century house, you've
got, did he say a 10th century house?

There could have been anything here.

It would be interesting if we
could get in here to investigate.

Might be worth it.

I'll call hq and see if they
can set US something up.

I need to get my head in the game here,
Charlie... that at the pied bull was incredible,

we've come here, we've found out all sorts,
Chester keeps throwing up these surprises.

Yeah.

We need to get back now, do a team briefing
with what we've found out here, get some

rest, get some food and then head out
tonight for the George & dragon investigation

and charge all the equipment
up because that cellar,

we are gonna go for it down
there ok? Alright let's go.

With the team briefed we set off for the
George & dragon and our 4th investigation.

With what we had learnt about the location,
our approach would need to be very different

as we believed any possible hauntings at the
George & dragon were likely to be residual.

If there was really Roman soldiers
marching through the cellar then

it would be almost impossible
to gain intelligent communication

due to the fact the romans spoke Latin.

So we would try to gain
visual and audio evidence

by setting up a number
of devices in the cellar.

Our thermal imaging camera would monitor the
main section of the cellar whilst motion sensors

and a rem pod were placed on the floor to detect
any movement or static energy in the area.

We also places a h1 zoom
microphone on the floor to

record any audio phenomena
that may occur underground.

Meanwhile we placed 4 locked off cameras
throughout the building. Camera 1 was on

the top floor corridor where the manager
had heard disembodied footsteps in the past

whilst the building lay empty.

Camera 2 covered the main bar,
camera 3 monitored the main function room

and entrance whilst camera 4 covered
the entire main section of the cellar.

I was also armed with our
sls camera as a further attempt

to gain visual evidence of
any entities down in the cellar.

Becki would also attempt to
draw out any presence by playing

Latin chanting, it was time to
investigate the George & dragon.

Ok guys what we've done is arm the entire
cellar with motion sensors. We have a rem

pod over there which will of course measure
any energy changes that come near it.

We have an edi meter on the floor,

that will measure emf, it will
measure temperature and it

will also pick upon any
footsteps that may occur there.

This is a zoom mic, I'm gonna
put it right on the floor due to the

sounds of the, the supposed
armies that are walking through here.

I thought this would be a good idea
to put right on the floor, see if we can

play it back, listen to see if anythings
happening, you've gotta remember

I remember saying to Beck
today wasn't I that the fact...

I don't know, that was not a good sound.

That was like a.

That sounded like multiple
men like all doing the same thing.

Suddenly, we all here a strange sound from
above US. At the time this took US all

by surprise but after reviewing this audio,
we believe there is a strong possibility

this could be people
on the street outside.

Now this is the
difficult part about this

investigation, we
have nothing to call out.

Now it could have been drunk
people but that was the sound of like

somebody like moaning out but it
was draining away from them like.

You know what I mean like as if someone
was moaning like groaning or something.

down here before to set

everything up and we
couldn't hear anything.

We haven't heard nothing
since we've been down here.

It's about half past 10 now so
there are people in the city but...

That was a thud.

mumbling voices before that?

Yeah I heard it before the thud yeah.

someone was trying to have a conversation.

I only heard the thud.

We have no idea what made this thudding
noise from the bar above US, nothing was

captured on our locked off camera up there
and we were the only people in the building.

We are not saying this is paranormal as
there could be a number of explanations.

Feel a little bit like, anything
could happened down here like...

I'll be honest.

I've not been expecting
a lot like this, this,

I dunno there's just
something in the run up

to this night I've not been feeling
like we would maybe capture anything.

Well if we did it would
be residual I thought.

Erm... no but now I'm feeling like
anything could kick off at any time.

just getting the shots and it was
obviously before we came back

to see you guys after the pied
bull evidence which... my god

to capture anything here tonight.

Well from what I've
heard I thought it'd be more

residual more than
things just walking through.

Really starting to feel the

because we're all knackered

and when you're tired
you don't think as logically

so I think we all just need
to try and keep our heads

what we hear cos it's gonna

sound, because we're tired

bit jumpy and on edge
so... cos we're tired.

And we've kind of you
know... we've had a lot, we've,

we've had some really
interesting investigations so...

I still can't get over that girl at the
pied bull that you showed US today.

That was freaky.

I still can't get over the apparition
on the rows Jesus Christ.

That was amazing.

Have you noticed
as well, I've only just

noticed with that, there's
no shadow behind it.

So you see the wall...

The apparition?

Yeah so you see the wall,
there's no shadow on the wall.

So it's not a solid figure, if it was
a person there would be a shadow.

But there's not.

It's the fact that it set the
motion sensor off as well.

That could be people on the street.

Is there anything

The temperatures set fine.

Picking absolutely nothing
up on this sls camera.

The other thing down here
is there's so much noise from

like the machinery that
you get in a pub cellar that,

you have to really careful that like they
could just really natural, normal noises.

Things settling.

Yeah and you know it's not
necessarily paranormal so...

I just can't get over the fact that
we're on a Roman burial site right here.

Like some of the stuff, obviously I told
you guys before at the hotel but some of the

stuff that the guy told US at the Roman
place was, Beck it was fascinating wasn't it?

Really great place.

I swear that place is haunted you know.

The fact the staff there are
witnessing things as well.

This is one of them places that...

You would have to spend
like every night for like a

month here down here to
actually witness something.

It's just got that feel about it
that whatever is here is residual.

locked off cameras throughout the building
are picking up no strange activity.

experiment which involves playing

Latin chanting to see if this

should eventually split from the girls
and cover different parts of the location

We are just over 2 hours into our
investigation at the George & dragon and we are

starting to doubt the rumours that this
location is one of Chester's most haunted.

Charlie and I split off from the girls to investigate
other areas of the building to see if there are

any other hauntings other than the supposed Roman
soldiers that are said to march through the cellar

Charlie heads to room 26
which is close to the area where

the manager has previously
heard disembodied footsteps.

Armed with a full spectrum camera, Charlie
will attempt to gain visual evidence as

our locked off camera on the corridor will
monitor any footsteps that may be captured.

I made my way to the back
staircase armed with the ovilus 5

in an attempt to find evidence
of any intelligent hauntings.

The girls remained in the cellar.

Alright guys so I've come up
here now to room 26, erm... the

girls are still in the cellar and
Dan's on the back stairwell.

Now this is said to be
the most haunted room,

here the owners said that he's stayed in
this room while there's been nobody else

here and what appears to him is that he's
heard running up and down these corridors.

So,

I'm gonna listen out and
I'm gonna do a little bit of

calling out but I'm gonna
see if I can hear anything.

And it's around about 1am
now in the morning and you

can still hear people
outside and traffic erm... so...

Just see how it goes and we'll see if
we can capture anything audio wise.

If there's someone that likes
to run up and down the corridor

So I'm on the back staircase.

The girls are in the
basement and Charlie is

in room 26 which is all
the way over that way.

I just don't get the vibe
with this place at all it...

Obviously the basements
quite atmospheric but...

It just doesn't feel like there's
anything here now we're the

only people in the building
of course it feels quite eerie

due to that fact but...

I dunno it's just it...

It just doesn't feel like it's
haunted and I know that's

really ridiculous to say
because how would we know?

We're only spending one night here but...

It just seems like
there's so much here that

can be debunked.

Like the noises in the cellar for example.

There's a lot of machinery down there.

There's a lot of noise
confliction from outside.

Traffic,

heavy lorry goes past
and it can vibrate rooms.

Definitely doesn't feel eerie.

In fact I would go as
far as to say out here

I think it's cos it's darker in
there, it's more compact isn't it?

There's something about the bottom
end of the kitchen that freaks me out.

it's just like... natural

machinery sounds isn't it?

Unless you have the door closed or
something you'll hear that noise, I know.

It's just impossible to tell.

I think it's just normal pub sounds.

It'll be interesting though if we've
picked anything up on the thermal.

It's loud that isn't it as well.

That was like down there.

This loud bang in the cellar is the first
thing that has happened in over 2 hours

but again, we believe there could be a
number of rational explanations for this.

One of which could be air
pressure in the beer lines, what

we have to remember here is
that cellars make lots of noises

and the majority of those
noises can easily be explained.

I'm starting to think that

it's not as haunted as what
it's been made out to be.

Even though there is a lot
of history behind this place

it, it just doesn't add up to what people
have said they've seen here or witnessed.

I'm not witnessing that myself.

So for me, I don't
think it is haunted here.

It could have just been
peoples minds if they're tired.

You know, sometimes if
you're half asleep you think

that you hear things you
think that you see things.

So I think this place has just been
hyped up to be something that it's not and

it's not as haunted as people have
claimed now there is a lot of good history

behind this place with
the Roman burial grounds

erm... you know the sounds of Roman
soldiers have been heard here but...

Again, I haven't witnessed
anything for myself.

So for me I think this

is something that you know, that
I'd have to say that I can debunk

as not being haunted.

Be interesting to see if
the others are getting any

activity at all because
it just feels completely...

It's so strange, I knew this was
gonna be a real difficult investigation,

But it really is quiet in
this building and it just

doesn't feel like there
is anything here at all.

But...

Sometimes you can walk into a location

that is reputedly haunted and
you can feel the atmosphere in there

and even though we are the
only ones in this entire building,

which of course in itself is quite
eerie but it just feels relaxed,

it doesn't feel like anythings
gonna kick off, it doesn't...

It doesn't feel like anything
is... here at all I mean...

I just think this place is so easily...

Debunked.

I think we'll fight through
til about 5am but...

Both myself and the
team are absolutely

shattered, this is our
4th investigation in a row.

We've still got a few more days
here in Chester, I just think...

We need to concentrate
our efforts now on...

don't feel like this place

But tonight it just feels like...

We're not gonna get anything here.

Over the next few hours
we take a number of different

approaches throughout the
building and experience nothing.

We capture no evp's, no strange
heat sources on the thermal

imaging camera, no unexplained
emf spikes on the Mel meter.

Our h1 zoom microphone in the cellar picks
up no unexplained noises, nothing is captured

on our locked off cameras and we do not
receive a single response through the ovilus 5

or the paranormal puck device.

approaching 5am now and

to be completely honest with you all I
really don't think that we're gonna get

anything, I know obviously you girls said
that you didn't get much down in the basement.

No erm... I didn't
feel anything in this

room, I didn't get any
evidence in this room.

What about out in that corridor?

Nothing from the corridor but there's
a lot of noise conflict from outside

so if a heavy vehicle goes
past it vibrates the room it

could possibly make the sound
that somebody is outside but...

Down in the basement, in the cellar we got
some really weird noises, the one weird thing

was like when we were all down there together

debunk that and say that it possibly
was somebody out on the street.

It was a weird noise though but when it
was just the 3 of US down there like we

got a huge bang, we got the sound of
footsteps but it was so noisy down there that

you could definitively say

that anything was paranormal
there was just so much...

equipment, none of the

equipment went off,
the rem pod didn't go off.

It just, it just, I said on camera
on my vigil on the staircase

ages ago that it just Doe sn't
give you the vibe this place.

Now I know we're all shattered

dragon had given US no results and

despite all our efforts, unfortunately
you cannot force paranormal activity

and as investigators, nights like
this come around more often than not.

We cannot say whether the George
& dragon is haunted or not but after

our previous investigations at ye
olde kings head and the pied bull,

we were disappointed that nothing had
been witnessed at the George & dragon.

We were here to answer 1
question, is Chester truly the

city of spirits? We still
had a few days to find out.

I spoke to hq this morning, we are on route
now to rowton moor in the nearby village

of rowton which played host to one
of the bloodiest battles of the civil war.

Who are we hearing?
