[Episode 36]

Come on, let's wish Fang Yu a safe trip!

- Thank you, everyone. - Drink!

Come.

Cheers!

Timing and subtitles brought to you by The Lovely Fighters Team @ Viki

You guys—

Say it.

Fang Yu, tomorrow... you're leaving for real,

so we've brought you out here today to drink until we all drop and have no regrets!

We came to today's farewell party sober, so we all must leave wasted!

- Cheers! - Come, come!

Here, here! Xiaomi?

I'll go see if Mother Hao needs any help.

- Is she in a bad mood?-Yeah.

But it's not because of you this time. It's because of me and him.

All that's left is the final push. Do you want to help out before you leave?

All right, I'll do it as a parting gift.

Here comes the food!

Senior Sis, here is your favorite: chicken feet braised in soy sauce.

Thank you, Mother Hao!

What will I do if I start to miss your cooking while I'm away?

Just take me with you then!

Mom!

Hurry up, eat.

Mother Hao is the best.

- Sun Hao, well, that dish is a bit far from me. Will you help me get some of it?- Okay.

Thank you.

Do you only have Yanan in your eyes? What about me?

I also want some of this.

Senior Sis, take your time.

Sun Hao, we got some from you, so how about you get some for Xiaomi, too?

Her eyes look like they might pop out of their sockets from all that jealousy.

Who's jealous!?

Sun Hao, I don't want any. I dare you to get me some. Don't get me any!

All right, she doesn't want it.

Hey, Sun Hao, have some of this.

Thank you, Senior Sis.

Here, take this as well.

This is also my present to you. Consider it as your own

little bit of revenge for the past fights you two have had.

Here. Is drinking with me okay?

Here. Drink.

Drink. Cheers.

[Huawu Fight]

Uncle Cheng, are you okay?

No, no, no.

- Let me take a look. - No, no, no!

This is a serious injury. I need to go out and look for an expert in bruises.

I'll go with you then.

- You're coming with me? - Yeah.

Then... forget about it.

I still have some liniment alcohol upstairs. I'll go apply some. (T/N: liniments are a medicated liquid, often containing alcohol, rubbed into the skin for healing purposes)

Uncle Cheng, I can help you rub it in.

There's no need!

Sour cabbages are coming! There's no more room to set the plate down.

Mom, there's no need to make so much. The table's almost completely full.

That's right, Mother Hao, it looks like you're always making us a feast with all these dishes whenever we come.

There's only soup left and nothing else. You guys can pay for dessert later on, okay?

Oh, by the way, Yanan, has your dad been busy lately? It's been a while since he's come to eat noodles here.

My dad has been pretty busy recently, but I don't know what he's been busy with.

That's fine, that's fine. What I meant is that, if he has the time, he can come here to eat noodles.

All right.

Another round! We now need to concentrate

to give Fang Yu a proper farewell party.

Cheers!

- Cheers! - Hey, cheers! Cheers!

Cheers, cheers!

My friends, even though I have no chance, I still hope you all are happy.

Ming Tian?

Ming Tian! Sit down.

I'm sorry, I'm late.

I'll drink one glass as punishment.

Here, here.

One more.

Here, here, one more.

All together.

All right. Together.

Then, all together, let's wish Fang Yu a safe trip.

- Have a safe trip.- Have a safe trip!

Have a safe trip!

- Have a safe trip! - Have a safe trip!

Especially you... Ming Tian.

[Making]

Slow down.

I'm sober. I'm not drunk.

- I'm not drunk ether.- I'm so not drunk.

I just don't understand it.

We were mindlessly walking around and we still ended up here.

Why did we suddenly come here?

♫ Using the time spent missing you to brew a cup of black coffee,♫

♫ I must slow my pace a little ♫

♫ I want to wait ♫

♫ One day, you will understand how to love ♫

I've never regretted it.

♫ I don't want love to go into the sky or the sea♫

Senior Sis?

Behind you!

- Why are you following me?- Senior Sis, why did you kick me!?

I came to protect you!

Protect me? Who am I, Song Xiaomi, to need you to protect me?

You—go protect your Food Fanatic Nan!

She's not drunk! Why would I need to protect her?

So, what you mean is that, if she'd been drunk, then you wouldn't have come to find me?

Sun Hao, I'll give you three seconds

to disappear off the face of the planet. Otherwise, you're dead meat.

One.

Two.

Three!

- What are you doing!? Let go!- I'm not letting go!

- Let go of me!- I won't!

- Let go! Let go!- If you don't say it, then I won't let you go! I won't let go!

Senior Sis, are you, by any chance, this angry because you like me?

Who do you think you are? Why would I like you?

- Let go! Let go of me!- I'm not letting go!

- Let go!- I know that I'm going to get beat up for this,

so before I die by your hand, I want to tell you that I like you!

Let's be together, Xiaomi.

You're not allowed... to kiss me... without my permission.

In the future, if I say that you can, then you can.

Hey! Did I say that you could?

Hey! Then, in a little while, can I?

Grandfather.

Are you ready?

Yeah.

If I didn't pack enough, I can buy more when I arrive.

Are you sure you that don't need Fang Zhou to see you off?

There's no need. Fang Zhou... hates farewells the most.

Besides... the company is busy.

I can go to the airport by myself.

Once I go, I'll be gone for at least two or three years.

So... you have to take care of yourself.

Remember to

eat and to take your medicine on time.

Don't eat a lot of sweets, especially desserts.

- Also...- Okay, okay. I already know what you want to say.

No wonder Fang Zhou says you're annoying.

I think the same way now, too.

Actually, I have always known.

You've always

cared about us...

and loved us.

That year, when my parents left,

you didn't tear up even a litte

You stayed strong and handled everything with a cool head.

Over the years, you've pushed us forward.

We both know that you did this for our own good.

You were afraid that, by chance, if you weren't able to protect us

we wouldn't have any way to protect ourselves.

I'm sorry, Grandfather.

I was too willful then.

This time around, too.

So... I really want to thank you.

Even this time, you still were able to forgive me

and be considerate of me.

You don't blame me?

- I don't blame you.- Okay.

I know that you did this for us.

Go on then.

Xiao Yu.

You must take good care of yourself.

If you can't endure it, come back home.

Don't force yourself, okay?

I know.

Go on. Go on.

Take care.

You, too.

Pinky promise.

Go, go.

[Zhengze Academy]

Everything has ended.

Senior Sis... I will take care of myself.

You take care of yourself, too.

[Huawu Fight]

Fang Yu is gone. Our group is missing someone who was an important cornerstone.

One couple got together, another parted ways.

But, no matter what happens, I wish everyone the best.

Luo Guanyan?

Luo Guanyan? Luo Guanyan? Luo Guanyan!

Why are you lying here? What happened?

- Where's my dad? - Oh.

I came here this morning to practice, then Uncle Cheng attacked me.

I'm not sure what happened after, since I blacked out.

It's only been a few days! He has no patience.

Are you all right?

It hurts here.

My dad hit you here?

Right. That's the spot.

Here?

That's right. Here, too.

Ah. Here, too?

Here as well.

I'm too lazy to care about you!

It really does hurt there.

- Massage it yourself! - Yanan!

Yanan!

Don't talk to me!

Hey, Mother Hao, I've put the money on the table.

- I'm leaving now.-Thank you! Thank you!

Please come again next time.

Yeah, I'll come again.

Aiyo! Break for safety! Break for safety! Aiyo!

Hey, don't move! Let me do it. I'll do it, I'll do it.

Mr. Cheng?

Mother Hao. Hey, it's dangerous here.

Come, come, come. Get up. Come on, stand up.

Just sit here. I'll clean it up.

It's fine! Really!

No way! Sit, sit, sit.

Didn't you mention that you had a headache a few days ago?

What if you're not careful and fall down on the shards of glass

and hurt yourself even more?

Don't worry. Just let me do it.

Hey...

Ah Hao, that kid, where did he go?

He doesn't even know to come help out on the weekends.

That's not it.

Isn't Ah Hao currently dating Xiaomi?

I'm trying to make more opportunities for them to go on dates.

Right, right.

Uhm... oh, right, I heard from Yanan

that you've been really busy these last few days?

Uh... I have been busy.

But, no matter how busy I am... I should still come over to your place to... see you.

Ah, I-I was just worried that you wouldn't have anyone to help you.

I... wasn't able to be at ease.

Uh... uh, well, uh, where is the trash can?

I—I—I'll take it and throw—throw—throw away.

It—it's up there?

Ah, no, no, no. It's... over there.

Ah, I—I see it. I—I'll go throw this away.

♫ I’m reluctant to fall asleep ♫

♫ I want to glance at you once more ♫

Be good, be good.[Mother Hao's Stir-Fry Noodles]

Don't cry. Don't cry, okay? Why won't he stop crying?

Okay, okay, okay. Don't cry, okay? Be good. Be good.

His diaper is probably wet. Let me check.

- Here. Feel, feel, feel. - Let me check.

Congratulations, you two!

An old clam is able to give birth to a pearl. Wow! How beautiful!

We're indebted to your words.

If you have the skill to, then you should look for an old partner to bear a pearl, too.

- Oh, he's not crying. No more crying, no more crying. - Oh! Good boy, good boy.

How old are you? Why are you making those kinds of jokes?

In six more months, I will treat you some red eggs.

Oh, ju-ju-ju-ju*.(T/N: A sound effect that conveys satisfaction).

[Zhengze Academy]I'm already a sophomore.

Everyone is going to school like normal and living their lives like usual.

Of course, some things have changed, too.

Like today, there were many more male students than before.

- How come he looks so familiar?- Hmm?

Luo Guanyan?

- What's wrong? - Huh?

Nothing. Let's go.

It's Luo Guanyan! He's so handsome!

I heard that he transferred here just for Yanan.

- I really envy Senior Sis Yanan! He's so handsome! - Hey.

You need to go explain to them

that I'm the first exchange student here as a show of friendship between Zhenge and Zhiying.

There's no need. These rumors... I like them!

I also like them.

Once a year, we participate in the Zhengze League Match. After a fierce battle between well-matched opponents,

Senior Sis Yanan won the competition.

Student Yanan, congratulations.

Thank you, President.

Girl! You did good! Very good!

That's my daughter! That's my daughter!

Even though Senior Sis Xiaomi didn't win the competition, she still received an unexpected reward.

- Wow, Senior Sis, you're so amazing!- So cool!

It's nothing, they usually get Fang Yu to do this,

but since Fang Yu's left the world of MMA, they all come looking for me now.

I've rejected them many, many times,

but they still insisted, so I figured I'd agree to it one time.

Seniors, I can attest to that.

Senior Sis, you're too sexy!

- Sexy! - Aiya!

I only posed like I was told to. As you all know, I'm actually more of the cute type.

I have no idea how I turned out looking so sexy and beautiful!

Let me take a look.

Wow! This picture look super, super photoshopped!

Take a look.

This looks nothing like her! It's all thanks to makeup and lighting!

Senior Sis.

Aiyo, I haven't finished talking.

Worst of all, look at these abs!

Song Xiaomi has no abs! That's definitely makeup!

Carry her to the nurse's office.

- Yes. - Yes.

Okay, Xiaomi.

Don't be mad anymore, you do look sexy... I like it.

Also, because of Sun Hao's hardwork,

he had unexpectedly good results in both his education and his love life.

Our Taekwondo Club fully attaches importance to leg-based skills.

Therefore, we have a saying: if we train our arms thirty percent of the time, then we train our legs seventy percent of the time.

We will now have our vice-president, Sun Hao, and

his assistant, Xiaoxua, do a demonstration.

Attention, athletes.

Begin.

That was such a powerful kick!

Xiaohua, aren't you overreacting?

Senior Sis Xiaomi gave me the order to make your abilities stand out.

Okay, we will now give applause to vice-president for his demonstration.

Get ready for team practice!

Get ready to do a front kick!

One!

Two!

The change in Ma Yichen has been greater still.

It can almost be said that he seems like an entirely different person.

Two!

One!

Two!

- Take this seriously.- President, I know the basics.

You're wrong, the reason why you cannot improve is because you lack a strong foundation.

If you don't do well on the basics, then nothing you do will ever improve.

Don't give up.

One!

Two!

As for me... I have been working part time, going to class,

and taking care of my siblings. It doesn't seem like much has changed.

Other than the occasional thoughts of her, nothing has changed.

Ming Tian, you can do it.

Do your best! Do your best!

Don't they say that time helps you forget?

Then, why is that her voice and laughter

have still remained clear in my mind all this time, as if they'll never disappear?

[Haowu Fight]

- Hello, sir. Here's your order— - Hey, hey, hey!

Be careful, be careful! Don't knock over this Zhengze League Match trophy that my daughter won.

- Sorry, sorry. - It's fine, it's fine.

Can't you see it? The Zhengze League Match is not an easy competition.

Do you know how many people she had to defeat in order to get this championship trophy?

I don't know.

Thirteen!

Don't listen to her nonsense. It wasn't thirteen, it was hundreds!

What I'm saying is that this is the thirteenth random person who you've about me getting a trophy.

A championship? Congrats, congrats!

I—I—

What did you do that for?

I'm a dad! I take pride in my daughter's achievements and want to

share my joy with everyone. What's wrong with that?

Then—you don't need to do it like this!

Everyone, you came! Thank you, thank you for your support!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This is only a championship trophy.

It's rather small.

Sorry to disturb you, I want to ask, who is the person in charge of this place?

Oh, I am. I am.

This advertisement is also yours, right?

Yes, that's right. Mr. Policeman, if you've come here to sign up, I'll give you a thirty percent discount.

You've servery affected the environment and health of the city. You must accept punishment according to the law.

I have to! Isn't that right?

Last year, an unexpected boxing accident caused the sudden death of professional boxer Liao Wencan onstage.

As a result of the insurance company reporting an offender suspected of fraudulently collecting money,

the police have already launched an investigation at present.

[Sudden Death of a Boxer is Exposed]

You see? You can deceive others for a short time, but you can't deceive them your whole life.

What are you guys talking about? Why are you sighing so depressingly?

Ming Tian, do you remember when I said that there seemed to be something up with the opponent who caused Ah Can's death?

Right now, the police are doing an investigation because his wife committed insurance fraud.

So, as I was saying, people need to live justly and honorably. Don't do illegal things.

The arm of the law is vast. Heaven is fair, but the guilty will not escape.

Stop talking.

Why?

You forgot what Senior Sis Yanan told us about why Ming Tian and Senior Sis Fang Yu broke up.

Those are two different things! They broke up because Ming Tian's father

killed Uncle Ji and not because he committed insurance fraud! Why can't I talk about it?

Last time, I remember that it was you who told me

that the person who helped out Auntie Can was someone who's connected to Senior Sis Fang Yu's family.

- By talking about it, don't you think it'll remind Ming Tian of Senior Sis Fang Yu? - What do you—?

Wait a minute. What did you just say?

I...

There's a connection between the person who helped Auntie Can and Fang Yu's family?

That's what you said.

You're the one who brought it up first!

How am I the one who brought it up first?

Okay, okay, okay! Stop fighting. Don't argue.

How did two people who had nothing to do with each other possibly end up chatting together?

I don't know either.

I just happened to hear that Auntie Can and some other woman talk about committing insurance fraud for money.

I found out later that the other woman's husband used to work as a bodyguard for the Fang Family Group.

Then, that woman, was her husband's name Ji Gang?

I don't know. It seems like they didn't mention it.

Senior Sis Xiaomi, can you please think about it again carefully and then start over from the beginning?

Aiyah, it happened over a year ago and I was heartbroken at the time. How can I remember? I didn't even bother to pay attention while listening in.

Senior Sis, try to think about and remember one more time.

This matter is very important to me.

Okay.

Are you really sure that there won't be a problem if we do this?

It's not like I've never done it before.

It will be fine. The things that should be done are done.

Nothing will happen.

I remember! She said that she'd done this kind of thing before.

Oh, right! She also said that her husband was a boxer.

Is there anything else?

Ming Tian, who is that woman? Why are you so interested in her?

That woman is Auntie Ji.

She's Uncle Ji's wife. I suspect...

What do you suspect?

I can't be sure of it right now.

Senior Sis Xiaomi, can you carefully think about it? Are you missing anything? Please tell me.

Oh, my goldfish memory! I only remember that Auntie Can paid

attention to her at the time. I don't remember anything else.

I'm really...

This time, you need to go back to that time and place.

At that time, the reason why my husband agreed to do this was

because he didn't have long to live either.

He signed that insurance policy in order to give me and our son a better life.

But, by doing this, aren't we hurting others?

We have no choice. Just consider those people unlucky.

I remember now.

Auntie Ji said that.

at the time, everyone believed that her husband had been killed in the ring by his opponent,

but, in reality, her husband's body was already unable to withstand going through with the competition.

So, that was how they were able to swindle money from the insurance company!

Right, it was just like that!

Ah, Ming Tian.

- You hold down the fort. I'm going to go keep an eye on him. - Go ahead.

Working as a bodyguard for the Fang Family Group and then later becoming a professional boxer..

Even though we haven't checked for other possibilities, it does fit Uncle Ji's description.

Usually, when you become a bodyguard, there's some type of family background check involved.

There should be some interrelated documents and a picture of Mrs. Ji.

- That would allow for Senior Sis Xiaomi to make an identification. - Oh.

I forgot to tell you, at the time, I didn't get to see her face. I only heard her voice.

However, Auntie Can would definitely know.

Isn't she in police custody now?

Maybe we can investigate with the help of the police.

When it comes to handling a legal case, the police won't disclose any details.

Then, what do we do? Like this, are we still going to investigate?

That day, when Fang Yu and I

went to the graveyard, Mrs. Ji personally told me

that my father and some others planned had conspired to rig the boxing match and kill Mr. Ji.

After I heard that, I was very shock and believed her, just like that.

But, later on, I thought about it carefully and there were still several things I had doubts about.

If my dad had really been rigging boxing matches for the money,

then where did all that money go?

Our family wouldn't have fallen on such hard times.

When I heard what Senior Sis Xiaomi said,

I think that the only likely answer is that Auntie Ji...

Auntie Ji is lying.

But, that doesn't make sense.

Auntie Ji lying... what does she gain from that?

Even if she lied to you, she won't get any insurance money.

There's no way...

Whatever happens, it's more important to find her first.

Fang Zhou, can you find Mrs. Ji?

I will try my best and put forth all my effort.

Please do.

If what Mrs. Ji said was all a lie,

then you and Fang Yu breaking up over it is just too unfair.

Because of this, she even gave up on MMA and left the country.
