down inside the antwerp mansion.

My god what is going on?

Something seriously dark is lurking in the
depths of this location, it is feeding off the

energy here and affecting people who go down
into the basement. We're in Manchester...

This is the antwerp mansion.

Built in 1840 as a private home,
the antwerp mansion house rich

industrialists for 82 years during
the rise of victorian Manchester.

At one time it is believed the mansion
was home to the Belgian consul

before being extended in 1922 and
becoming a private gentleman's club.

For many years it was one of the
most important clubs in Manchester

with Winston Churchill
visiting on at least one occasion.

The location lay abandoned for a period
of time until in 2009, when it became

a nightclub and eventually one of
Manchester's most notorious rave scenes.

Now there are these rumours of this seriously
negative entity down in the basement of the

antwerp mansion and all those who venture down
there are becoming seriously affected by it.

They're emerging from the
basement and coming out of the

actual location itself, a
completely different person.

Now these people haven't had any drugs,
they've not had a drop of alcohol. These are

paranormal investigators as well who are
just coming out of the place a completely

different person. They're becoming increasingly
violent, they're having arguments. They're whole

persona has changed so it will be really interesting
to see what is actually going on down there.

In recent years, crime levels have
drastically increased in the area

which lead authorities to close the
antwerp mansion for a short period,

labelling the house as
a hot spot for criminal

offences such as
drug use and violence.

There were frequent reports of people
becoming aggressive at the location and very

recently, something is having a strange
affect on people down in the basement.

Could something be feeding
off the crime levels in the

area? Or is it just a case
of alcohol and drug abuse?

Now there's a really interesting story
about the antwerp mansion and it involves

the very tragic event where a gentleman
was actually stabbed outside of the house.

Now the gentleman who stabbed him had no
previous convictions of violence, he wasn't a

criminal or anything like that and we think
he'd been inside the mansion at the time.

Now as he emerged he became increasingly
aggressive for no apparent reason and it

actually ended in him stabbing this other
guy over something as little as a cigarette.

Now it's really interesting
because of all the other stories

about people becoming
increasingly violent around there area.

Could it be that all the events that have
taken place in the antwerp mansion during it's

time as a club, people taking drugs, there
would have been a lot more violence involved.

Other negative things
happening around the area,

could this dark entity be
feeding on that energy?

After being welcomed into the antwerp
mansion and having a conversation with the

new owner. Our research team set up an
interview with two paranormal investigators

who have both had experiences at the location.
I was eager to find out what other investigators

thought about the basement and to find out
if there were other entities haunting here.

It was after this interview that we realised
something very strange occurred. Our

microphones attached to both beverley and
Joel stopped working without any explanation

and half way through the interview,
we started getting unexplained

interference with our camera
when talking about the basement.

Guys you've got first
hand experience of this

location, can you tell me
what you've experienced here?

Erm, well when we did our mini
investigation, the throne room

upstairs erm, a couple of the
investigators reported seeing shadows.

Erm, we took a photograph of one of
the investigators who was sitting in the

throne and the picture actually looks as
if there's somebody sitting on the throne.

Really?

Erm, there's like an outline
around the investigator

that's bigger than him,
was sitting in that chair.

Wow guys there is talk of
something really dark being

down here in the basement.

In a building this old I reckon
there would be definitely something.

Now it's said to affect people's
behaviour. People are becoming increasingly

violent when they've been down
there. What would you make of that?

It actually feels like it's detached from
the rest of the house because the rest

of the house, even though you feel that
there is constantly someone watching you

you feel like there could constantly be
someone there. It's not dark and oppressive,

I mean this place has been associated
for years with concerts, nightclubs,

people enjoying themselves and that's
the kind of atmosphere you get from

up here but it is more sort of ominous
and oppressive down in the basement.

It's something to do with the land that
it's on rather than the building itself.

Unaware of the technical issues
that had just occurred during the

interview, becki and myself began
our pre investigation walk around.

Is it possible that something
was trying to interrupt our

interview? Or was it just a
simple case of technical problems?

What we do know, is that our equipment had
no further issues and prior to the interview,

we had never had problems before. It
was finally time to explore the basement.

There is one thing I've been wanting to do
ever since we knew we were gonna be doing

this place and that is go down into the
basement. You ready to do this? Ok, cmon.

has really dropped in here.

when we first came down.

When we pulled up at the
mansion I was gobsmacked. It was

behind these huge gates and it
had a really imposing feel to it.

We then moved into the
mansion itself and had a walk

around and it was just
incredible on the inside.

But we had heard these rumours
of a really dark presence down in the

basement that had a really negative
impact on people that went down there.

So we moved down quite
quickly and both Dan and I

had a sense of something
quite oppressive down there.

It was very eerie
and there was a real

atmosphere that seemed
to really penetrate US.

It feels really, really strange down here.

I'd be very wary of putting
anybody on their own down here.

I'm not going down here on my
own, I can tell you that right now.

During the walk around it felt crazy that place,
I mean just walking through the front doors you

got a real sense of the history of the location
but we quickly made our way down to the basement

which was an area that we were really
gonna focus on during the investigation.

As soon as we got down there this wave
of just, oppression hit both me and becki

and we were trying our hardest not to let our
imaginations get away with US because of the

rumours of what's gone on down there but you
just couldn't escape this negative feeling,

it was horrible down there, it was dark, it
was dusty, it was a real ruin down there and

as we were walking around you could just feel
the eyes on you, it was really quite strange.

Just before the team arrived at the antwerp
mansion, we decided to meet them outside of the

location and take a short drive around the area
to see if we could witness any strange behaviour.

With so many reports of negativity around
the antwerp mansion, we wanted to investigate

for ourselves. It didn't take long for US
to realise just how strange this area was.

the antwerp mansion is placed and we are

just driving around now in an attempt
to try and see what is going on basically.

As we continued driving it
became clear that this area was

a hotspot for homeless people,
gangs and even prostitution.

It is believed that negative
entities including demons, feed off

these kind of things. Was an evil
entity haunting the antwerp mansion?

Guys we have just been approached in
the car by a very strange man, seemed to

be off his head on some kind of drugs,
acting very, very strangely indeed now

we are just about to approach the antwerp
mansion around here where we are gonna

be locked inside tonight in an attempt
to find the truth of what is going on

in this strange location.

I'm very excited to investigate this location,
there's been a lot of rumours evolving

around violence, dark negativity in this place
so I'm very intrigued to see what we capture

and if we do capture anything.

I'm really looking forward to investigating
this location because it's very

unknown erm, there's not much documented
paranormal wise for this location.

So I think it will be
interesting for the team to go in

and scout everywhere we
can and see what we can find.

Supposedly a child fell to their death in
this building so I'm looking forward to seeing

whether we can actually make contact with
them, if they are still roaming the property.

This property dates back to the victorian times
so it will be really interesting to see if

we can make contact with anybody that possibly
lived here or worked here during those times.

into somewhere and it kick off like this.

Activity had seemed to begin as soon as
we set foot inside the building and with

unexplained noises coming from both the back
room and upstairs, we split into 2 teams.

We placed locked off cameras
in the main entrance, the back

room next to the old bar and
finally the dreaded basement.

Charlie, Emma and sian moved into the main
event room where many raves were once held

and would set up both a rem device, which
measures static and emf interference around it

and also a temperature pod,
which measures sudden, sharp

rises or drops in temperature
of 5 degrees or more.

Meanwhile upstairs, rox,
becki and myself headed into the

main room of the top floor
armed with an sb7 spirit box.

Just as our temperature pod detects a
sudden drop in temperature, we receive this

amazing class a evp on our digital voice
recorder which is here in Emma's hand.

Could this possibly be a Belgian
lady saying 'who are you' in Dutch?

So the day after the investigation we were
reviewing the digital voice recorder and we came

across a woman's voice erm, and for hours and
hours we were trying to work out what it said.

Erm, we finally realised that it was
actually a Dutch sentence that erm, came

through and when you translate it to
English it actually says 'who are you'.

Now at the same time we caught the evp,
the temperature pod was going off erm, on

demand. Now its very strange cos actually
the house itself was lived in by Belgian's.

That second floor main room was
just completely bizarre to be honest

with you. There was so much
happening it was hard to keep track of.

There were noises all
around US, footsteps, banging.

I remember capturing 2 voices
on the sb7 spirit box now the first

one was a clear woman's voice
that we thought said 'nothing'.

And the second one was a man's
voice and we presume it said 'reach'

something but we couldn't make it
out. It was absolutely crazy up there.

have witnessed incredible activity

the team head back into the main upstairs

heard something
moving around as well as

What we don't realise, is that we had just

This point of the night I'd had
enough of the cellar. I felt like I was

being rushed on by multiple entities
and it was not a nice feeling at all.

So as I ran out of the basement
erm, and I got up to the top

of the corridor, I could hear
the rest of the team filming.

So I decided to sit down
and just keep quiet and I

realised that the battery on
my camera was running low.

So I took out my mobile phone and I started
recording to film to see if I could capture

anything and what I could not believe next was
the door from the basement just opened up on me

and it totally shook me
up, I could not believe.

After the team reviewed Charlie's
phone footage and conducted tests on

the door, we could find no explanation
for why it had suddenly opened.

There were no drafts and the
door was completely shut as

Charlie had slammed it behind
him as he ran from the basement.

Amazed by what had happened, we split into
3 separate teams however, none of these

sessions produced any activity and the
location had seemed to have gone very quiet.

Finally, the decision was made to head
down into the basement as a whole team.

weirdest thing happened and it was like, I

By this point of the night we'd all had
enough. The basement had, had negative

affects on people, Charlie had seen
something walk across his face erm,

bex didn't feel well at all, she come up
the stairs, she had a really funny turn. So

obviously we were all extremely worried about
the affect it was having on the team members.

Gosh, I've just had a right dizzy spell.

The antwerp mansion was just
a complete shock to be honest.

with so many different entities

It was a real surprise,
I would love to go back
