[Scooby] Whoa!
[screams] Whoa!
-[grunts] -[gasps]
[screaming]
-[thuds] -[groans]
Now let's see who this food man monster really is.
[gang] Alton Brown!
But that's impossible.
We saw you frozen solid.
Or did we?
When I lost my cell reception,
I resorted to more practical methods,
i.e., deductive reasoning,
reading books,
real life observation, etc. etc.
I examined the painting of Dr. Frankenfooder.
It had clearly been painted recently,
not hundreds of years ago.
While you were all busy making snacks in the kitchen,
I was busy looking into the castle's family history.
There was never any "Frankenfooder" family,
and certainly no "Brown" lineage.
Well, Frankenfooder is actually on my mother's side.
But what was all that crazy laughter in the basement?
Yeah! That was scary.
-[ghostly laughter] -[whimpering]
[in German accent] We were in the basement eating the whole time.
[laughs] Much fun.
[in German accent] Ja, Alton prepared us food
while he performed his little play for you all,
which we thought was very clever.
Bravo! Ja, ja, bravo.
Meet the Schmidts.
They live here.
Which I learned after removingall of the white sheets
from the furniture in the living room.
And this castle was never burnt down by peasants.
These are the original 800-year-old oak floors.
Ja! They are.
Thank you for noticing. We are very proud.
Turns out Alton decorated
the entire house to look creepy.
But what about Alton being frozen solid?
That was my life-sized puppet of Alton Brown.
My master work.
Meet Jude.
A puppeteer who builds puppets of famous people for a living.
I loaned Alton my Alton Brown puppet as a favor,
but he never returned it.
And now, it's ruined.
Freezer burned!
But that's okay.
I've got another.
See? It looks just like him.
The only real question left is...
[gang] Why?
Ah, shucks! Well...
Here it goes.
A couple of months ago,
I woke up and felt the need to reinvent myself.
I mean, I've been a pirate...
[squawking]
A space captain...
-[grunts] -[screaming]
Even a dolphin trainer.
[clicking]
[sloshing]
You have?
Yep!
But I grew tired of them. [sighs]
I wanted this one to be big.
And I wanted you all to spread the word
about me and my "ancestor,"
Dr. Frankenfooder!
[lightning and thundering]
[whimpering fearfully]
I, Alton Brown,
the descendent of a mad food scientist.
[sighs] Just think of it.
[gang] Uh...
And I would have gotten away with it, too
if it weren't for you meddling kids.
And, well, me, I guess.
Wait.
What happened to your TV producer?
[sniffing]
She's right here.
[muffled groaning]
Well, I couldn't let her spoil my big moment.
Just another mess
I'll have to clean up for you, Alton.
What about Mayor Goldgraber?
What was his part in all this?
I don't even know him.
But, hey, great name, right?
Gold! I'm here for the gold.
[laughs maniacally]
Like take it easy, Mayor Gold dude,
because I have like a real problem.
Scoob and I came all the way out here for a feast,
and we've been running from a puppet Alton
and an Alton food monster the whole time.
Yeah, the opposite of a feast.
It was horrible.
Gee, guys. I apologize.
Well, since no crime was actually committed...
Alton, I think there's a way you can make it up to them...
I hope you like it.
Voila!
[thunder rumbles]
[gang exclaims in horror]
[chuckles] Just kidding.
I wouldn't do that to you guys.
[object clatters]
-Oh, boy. -Scooby-Dooby-Doo!
Nothing fancy,
though I did use six kinds of meat in the meatballs.
Scoob, would you like to do the honors
as the official taste tester?
Yeah.
Hmm. [chomps and gulps]
[sighs] Ah!
Needs salt.
