Original subtitles

[ship horn tooting]

[couple] We are just a couple of horses

Running wild and free...

[both gasp]

What's this bubbling up from below?

[snoring]

What's this bubbling up from below?

Sir Crawford? It's time for the tree.

[yawning]

Okay, so the tree says, "That's hot, hot, hot sauce."

Cue the rise of the crazy hot sauce, please.

Boy, we are really not ready.

[organ music playing]

Hey. There's no organ music in my show.

-[all gasp] -[sinister cackling]

Definitely none of that either.

[all gasp]

[gasps]

This is my theater. Mine!

Get out or be doomed forever.

[bats screeching]

โ™ช Scooby-Dooby-Doo And Guess Who? โ™ช

โ™ช We know you're One in a million โ™ช

โ™ช Scooby-Doo โ™ช

โ™ช We can count on you, Scooby-Doo โ™ช

โ™ช To catch and unmask That villain โ™ช

[Daphne] Jeepers, it's Kacey Musgraves.

[Fred] Well, gang, here we are

in downtown Nashville, Tennessee,

outside famous country music palace,

The Tallis Taggert auditorium.

Think of the all the history that's happened right here.

The famous songs. The famous singers...

The crazy horse-headed monsters.

[both screaming]

[all yelping]

[couple] Here.

[Shaggy and Scooby] Uh, thanks?

Don't go in there. It's haunted.

[both] Haunted.

[both screaming]

[Shaggy] Maybe we should listen to those kooks

and hoof it out of here, man.

[grunting, whimpering]

Nothing doing, guys.

We came here to see Daphne's friend.

And, we can't leave now.

[Musgraves] Daphne.

[Velma] Jinkies, it's...

[all] Famous country music star Kacey Musgraves.

Howdy, y'all.

How's the tassel business, bestie?

Oh, you know, swinging and singing, bestie.

[country music playing]

Oh, good. You got the costumes.

All right, y'all wanna come inside?

[Scooby-Doo whimpering]

[Shaggy whimpering]

[Fred] What are you waiting for, guys?

The mystery's this way.

Oh, man. I was afraid you were going to say that.

[Scooby-Doo whimpering]

Oh, I'm so excited, Kacey.

When I heard you were doing a live performance

to reopen the Tallis Taggert country auditorium,

I just had to bring my friends.

I'm so glad you did but, I'm afraid

there's not even gonna be a show.

Because this terrible ghost is haunting this place.

He's scared off most of the crew.

Not a ghost!

We're just gonna have to cancel.

But, the theater'll be closed for good.

We can't let that happen.

Don't worry, we'll help you with this horrible phantom.

Really? Ugh, that's awesome.

We love solving mysteries.

-We don't. -We don't.

Maybe you'd better start from the beginning, Kacey.

Tell us the whole story. From the top.

Okay. It's an old story,

something my granddad used to tell me when I was little.

Long ago, two horses galloped across

the great state of Texas.

Their pounding hoofprints cracked the ground...

And up came a bubbling bunch of hot, hot, hot sauce.

They tasted it, and, sister, it was hot!

[burps]

[burps]

They loved it and they needed some kind of food to put it on.

So an old mesquite tree suggested that

they use him to smoke up a bunch of food

in a nearby smoker.

And thus, Texas BBQ was born.

And that's what "The hot, hot, hot sauce

Kacey-palooza extravaganza" is all about.

Like Kacey dude,

that was the greatest thing I have ever heard.

Yeah. Cool story, Kacey Musgraves.

Um, I think we meant, what can you tell us about the phantom?

Oh, right.

Ugh, sorry.

I guess I'm just really into my show right now.

Here, follow me.

[snarling]

Okay, y'all, this is the phantom.

Hey, looks like somebody's been doing

some work in here.

There's plaster on the statue.

Captain Tallis Taggert.

It says here, that he made a fortune

in steamboats in the 1870s,

right here in Nashville on the Cumberland river.

He built this auditorium mostly for church functions.

But, it became famous as a country music venue.

Rumor has it, he was an angry man.

He cursed his own theater,

haunting it and attacking artists he doesn't like.

But, everybody likes Kacey Musgraves.

-[organ music playing] -[both yelping]

Like where's that creepy organ music coming from?

From the deadly depths below.

[growls]

[all] It's the phantom.

Run.

[growling]

Like phantom dude, sir.

How do you do?

We have your ticket. Let's get you seated for the show.

Hurry. This way. Hurry, hurry, hurry.

Howdy y'all.

Now, I'd like to ask for a volunteer from the audience.

Like this dude volunteers.

Oh, here. Here. Here. Pick him.

Pick him. He's a good one.

It's really easy.

Okay, you just put the guitar on like this.

Okay, put your hand here.

Just like that. Looks good. And go.

[laughing]

Huh?

-[strumming guitar] -[laughs sheepishly]

[growling]

[all panting]

[all gasp, exclaim]

[grunting]

[growling]

[all] Phew.

Look.

A muddy footprint.

Like what kind of ghost phantom dude

leaves a muddy footprint?

A really rude phantom?

You got that right, Scooby-Doo.

Oh, I hate being right.

I think he's gone.

[Scooby-Doo sniffing]

[all yelp]

Ah.

John?

Kasey. Oh, thank my lucky stars.

Uh, gang, this is John Lupointe.

Uhm, he's my producer.

When I saw that horrible phantom

chasing you kids earlier,

I hid inside that cabinet.

We understand, Mr. Producer Dude.

Yeah, we're total cowards.

No, you're missing the point.

I specifically quit my job as a big-time

Hollywood producer of blockbuster action movies

Because I was inspired by Kacey's vision...

And I love Texas BBQ.

I wanted to embrace Ms. Musgraves' true creativity

and sense of storytelling,

to leave all of that silly Hollywood hoopla behind me.

So, I refuse to let some phantom stop you, Kacey.

We have to put on this show, no matter what.

That's great, Mr. Lupointe.

We'll help in any way we can.

Thanks, mystery-solving teens.

Oh, boy.

[both sniffing]

-Mmm! -Yummy!

Ow.

-Nobody's touching my BBQ. -[gulps]

Laredo here is in charge of cooking up

the Texas BBQ for the show.

[sniffs] Smells delicious.

Like, hoo-hoo, Laredo, huh?

Is that where you're from, cowgirl?

No. I'm from Houston.

[both] Oh, oh, okay.

Can we have some?

Like you won't even know it's gone.

[exclaiming]

And you, Ms. Musgraves,

got nothing but respect,

but I hope your show does get canceled.

There's no excuse for the lack of security around here.

-[both sniffing] -Mmm.

I can't have some looky-loos steal

the secret ingredients to my sauces and rubs.

[both giggling]

[both yelp]

Those are gonna stay safe

right inside this here smoker.

Okay, Laredo, duly noted.

Suspicious.

I put together a little meat snack for you boys...

Plus, every hot sauce known to humanity.

Like, Kacey Musgraves,

you are, like, totally awesome.

Kacey Musgraves, you're the best.

[growling]

Haunted tree!

[both whimpering]

Ms. Musgraves, a word, please.

Guys, this is the great Sir Daniel Crawford.

He is playing the mesquite tree in my show.

You mean, was playing the mesquite tree.

That terrible ghost has me so scared

I can't even get out of this costume.

Argh. I quit. I absolutely quit, quit...

[repeating] Quit, quit, quit.

-[door closes] -He is not a very nice tree.

Back to eating hot sauce.

Careful, Scooby, that's my extra special

homemade hot, hot, hot sauce.

-[panting] -Oops.

-[sauce sizzles] -Like that is serious hot sauce.

Y'all, it's perfectly safe I promise...

It's just a little hard on the floors. Come on.

[all gasp]

The basement.

Hold the phone, there's a cave down there.

Looks pretty big.

We should definitely check it out.

[both whimpering]

[thuds]

Hey, quit messing around, you two.

We've got a mystery to solve.

-Hold the phone. -Scooby.

-Like zoinks. -Jinkies.

-Jeepers. -Woah.

[Velma] It's one of Captain Taggert's old river boats.

[sniffing]

Same muddy footprint.

Good boy, Scooby. So we know the phantom was down here.

Let's look for more clues.

It certainly doesn't look like

anyone's been down here for 100 years.

-[organ music plays] -[both yelp]

I think I found the source of the phantom's organ music.

See? It's rigged to play via remote.

[organ music playing]

[both yelp]

Like, Velma, stop doing that.

-This? -[organ music playing]

[organ music playing continuously]

[all] Whoa.

Sorry. Couldn't help myself.

[Phantom laughing menacingly]

Get out.

[all] Run.

[Phantom laughing menacingly]

[grunting]

Huh? [growls]

[growls]

Huh?

[chuckles]

[exclaims, grunts]

-[phantom grunts] -[yelps]

[exclaims]

We've hit a wall. We better go back.

[growling]

-[thuds] -Oof!

Jinkies, it's the number of an insurance company.

This is definitely another clue.

[all yelping]

[Shaggy] Howdy, partner.

Sit down and play a hand of cards.

[Scooby-Doo chuckles]

[sighs]

Full house? What?

[laughs] That ain't no full house.

Now that's a full house.

You big silly.

52 pick-up?

-That was close. -Like too close, man.

But, I think we have enough clues.

This mystery is really starting to come together.

All we need to do now is finish Kacey's show for opening night,

catch the phantom in the act and save the theater.

I am so ready.

[country music playing]

Whoa. It's a full house.

Told you, Kacey. Your show is saved.

After all, now you've got a great cast and crew, us.

The show goes on.

Howdy, everybody, and welcome

to my very own "Hot, hot, hot sauce

Kacey-palooza extravaganza."

There's a story that my grandpa used to tell

and it is so important to me.

And, tonight, I'd like to share it with all y'all.

Like, Scoob,

[in Texan accent] Er, I mean, my fellow horse friend,

let us commence to scamper about.

We are scampering about.

[Scooby-Doo imitates horse]

Cue the rise of the hot sauce.

Oh, my. What is this I have stepped in?

[Scooby-Doo] Ooh, bubbly. What is it?

[audience clapping]

Cue the mesquite tree.

Hm?

[Fred] Ah, uh...

-Uh... -That's the hot, hot, hot sauce.

Uh... what?

That's your line.

What?

-That's the hot, hot, hot sauce. -It is?

-No, that's your line. -[audience laughing]

What?

That's the hot, hot, hot sauce.

-It is? -No, that's your line.

-[audience laughing] -Fred, like get it together, dude.

You are ruining the show.

Oh, that's the hot sauce.

[audience laughing]

Look out.

[phantom cackling]

Get out. Everyone, leave now.

[audience gasps]

[all laughing]

[shouts] Now.

[all gasp]

[thuds]

[growls]

[Fred] Hold the phone.

No, really.

Hold the phone.

-Huh? -[cell phone ringing]

Hello?

That's it. Cue the trap.

-[Scooby-Doo]Here comes the boom. -Huh?

[gulping]

[screaming]

[audience cheering]

[all applauding]

-[audience booing] -And now let's see who this phantom ghost captain

really is.

[all] Mr. Lupointe?

My show producer?

That doesn't make any sense.

Actually, Kacey, it makes perfect sense.

You see...

We found traces of a special kind of plaster

on the statue of Captain Taggert,

the same plaster used for the molds

made to create the flexible foam latex masks of Hollywood.

His years of working in Hollywood

allowed Mr. Lupointe to make a perfect phantom costume.

He used the remote to operate the organ

that played the scary music from down below,

a similar remote often used on Hollywood movie productions.

But he invested in my show.

Why would he want to ruin it?

Money. He was broke.

We checked. He'd been kicked out

of every major Hollywood studio.

We also checked with the insurance company

on this card.

Apparently, Mr. Lupointe had taken out

a huge policy on your show.

He stood to collect millions, if your show failed.

What? That's just wrong.

What do y'all think about that?

[audience booing]

I don't care what they think. I was going to be rich,

rich like I deserve to be rich.

And I would've gotten away with it, too,

if it weren't for you meddling kids

and country music sensation Kacey Musgraves.

[gasps] Mmm.

Well, thanks to you kooky kids,

our opening night was a huge success.

Not only did we save the theater,

but it looks like the Kacey-palooza extravaganza

is going to run for years and years.

That's great news.

Where are Shaggy and Scooby?

They're missing the barbeque.

They said they found a new toy,

whatever that means.

[ship horn tooting]

Aye, matey. Set the jib and the jab,

the stem and the stern.

Full steam ahead.

Run all the toots and blow the whistle.

Let 'em know we're a comin'.

[neighing]

-[ship horn tooting] -[chuckling]

[Scooby-Doo] Steamboat Scooby-Doo.

[laughs]
