(My Dangerous Wife)

Did she kill Song Yoo-min

and get rid of his body without a trace?

How did I end up with a monster like her?

He left behind the first thing he should've burned.

I knew my husband was following me.

I also knew he was after the money.

You're not scared of me, are you?

I'm more scared! Me!

But I won't go alone.

I'll go after I kill that piece of trash first!

I told you to not have feelings for me without my permission!

You're quite brave.

You came to your kidnapper's art exhibit.

What should...

I do?

If I were you, I would ask him to die.

We will steal the money. What do you think?

Do you know where it is?

Don't worry.

Things will go as planned.

There's endless joy hidden in the black world of coffee.

That's what my husband told me.

In order for things to go according to my plan,

I need this money.

A cliff.

The dead end isn't somewhere far away.

It's right in front of me.

Whatever the reason may be,

if someone doesn't keep his promise,

it's unforgivable.

The frog didn't turn into a prince...

because of the princess's kiss.

The princess who adored the frog...

throws the frog onto the ground.

The frog becomes a prince only after death.

Marriage is like a cruel fairy tale too.

You think you married a prince.

But you quickly realize your husband is a frog.

Why did he die?

What is it?

Sweetheart.

Did you get the money?

Now's not the time.

Song Yoo-min...

That guy died. He's dead.

What?

What happened?

Did you kill him?

No, it's not me!

He fell outside the window. I saw him!

Unbelievable.

Excuse me, sir.

Yes?

We wanted to ask you something, sir.

Something happened nearby.

So we're asking people if they saw anything.

Something happened?

A man fell outside a motel.

And he died.

Is it a suicide?

We're not sure at the moment.

Did you witness anything?

No.

I didn't see anything suspicious.

I see. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hold on! Wait!

I thought you looked familiar!

You're the husband of the kidnapped lady, right?

You have the wrong person.

I'm sure you're him.

I'm sorry, but I'm in a hurry.

Wait! Hold on!

Wait, sir!

Wait!

Sir, hold on!

Please step back!

It seems like Song Yoo-min rented that room.

Please don't do that!

Detective.

We saw Kim Yoon-chul in the parking lot.

Ji-tae.

He said Kim Yoon-chul was in a nearby parking lot.

- Are you sure? - We confirmed his license plate too.

Do you think Kim Yoon-chul did this?

Listen up.

Security camera footage, fingerprints, hair, and footprints.

Whatever it may be, collect everything related to Kim Yoon-chul.

This makes it seem like I killed him.

Why in the world did Song Yoo-min die?

Is it suicide?

Or did someone...?

Did my wife kill him?

Is this another plan of hers?

Did she do this, knowing that I was after the money?

This might have been a part of her plan from the start.

I turned the last person I wanted as an enemy into my enemy.

(Episode 7: Perfect Wife)

(Gentlemen Capital)

(Dongbaek Capital)

Oh, my!

What bring you here at this hour?

Oh, I...

I've been waking up earlier with age.

I thought since I woke up,

I might ask for a cup of coffee if Yoon-chul was here.

Yoon-chul isn't here yet.

If it's okay with you,

I'll make you coffee.

Oh, that will be great!

But why are you here alone?

I want to help out at the restaurant,

so I'm learning right now.

I came early to prepare things.

I see.

Thank you.

(Gentlemen Capital)

Gentlemen Capital.

(Delivery)

Let's see.

It's been already two years since this restaurant opened, right?

I know, right?

Time flies, right?

Oh, you're done.

Thank you.

It's delicious!

I'm glad you like it.

Did you eat breakfast yet?

I live alone, so I don't eat breakfast.

How is living alone working out for you?

It's comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time.

So what about you two? Are you okay living with him?

It's comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time.

Hold on.

How long have you two been married?

Six years.

You should be most uncomfortable right now.

Really?

I've been getting comfortable these days.

Would you mind waiting for a little while?

I'll cook a small meal for you.

Oh, thank you.

Hello.

Yes, hello.

Where's your husband?

He's probably still at home.

I came a little early to work.

I see.

We meet again, Chang-beom.

Want some coffee too?

I'm not in the mood right now.

We're going to take a look around.

Pardon? What...?

Excuse me.

Is there something wrong?

Song Yoo-min is dead.

Pardon?

Why?

It seems like he fell outside a motel window.

Then is it a suicide?

We don't know yet.

It could be a homicide.

Please mind your own business.

I believe it's none of your business.

We're family. Of course, it's my business.

Signing divorce papers doesn't mean the end of relationships made over the years.

We had a suspicion, so we came to check on it.

Mr. Kim was spotted...

near the crime scene.

Pardon?

Ji-tae.

He's not here.

We sent someone to your house too.

But he wasn't home.

And he's not here either.

Can you think of anywhere else Mr. Kim may have gone?

I'm not sure.

If you get in contact with him,

please call us right away.

- I will. - Please excuse us.

It seems like trouble's brewing.

I'll look into it too.

- Yes. - Yes.

I'll have the breakfast next time.

I looked into him.

It turns out he and Mr. Kim's older sister got a divorce a few years ago.

People aren't usually interested in their ex-in-laws, right?

There's only one reason that guy's sniffing around here.

He caught the scent of money.

He's trying his best to suck up to them, hoping for some money.

I heard he does other things besides running the pawn shop.

It's hard to break old habits.

He'll do anything for money.

He not only gambled and took bribes,

but he also stole confiscated items.

I can't believe a detective would do that.

It's hard to believe he was a detective.

What in the world?

It's just coffee beans?

Sweetheart.

Did anyone follow you?

No one followed me.

No one?

They might be tailing you to catch the accomplice.

I'm telling you there was no one!

What happened to Song Yoo-min?

You were kidding, right?

I wish I was.

This is crazy.

Why did you run though? It makes you look more suspicious!

Yes, I know.

But I didn't know what to do

at that moment!

Calm down.

What are you going to do now?

Let's think.

I think I'll have to confess everything.

What?

You want to tell the police everything?

That guy and my wife were behind the kidnapping.

The two of them were arguing about the five million dollars.

And then my wife killed Song Yoo-min!

She made it seem like I'm the culprit!

- Do you have proof? - Proof? Proof?

If that woman denies knowing anything,

then who would the police believe?

Look at me.

Yoon-chul.

Can you beat your wife, Yoon-chul?

If you confess that you went to the motel to steal the money,

do you think the police won't do anything?

They'll say you killed him while arguing over the money!

What should I do now?

Is anyone home?

Ms. Jin Sun-mi?

Are you home?

Ms. Jin?

Are you home?

What brings you here so early?

We're looking for Mr. Kim Yoon-chul.

We're going to take a look around.

Here's the search warrant.

Hold on!

Pardon us.

When was the last time you talked to Mr. Kim?

I don't talk to him.

Is that so?

He dumped me.

I requested the court to allow us to look at his phone records.

The records will tell us if you're telling the truth or not.

When something happens to Mr. Kim,

do you think he'll reach out

to you or his wife first?

I think he'll reach out to you first.

What do you mean?

It's a compliment.

This is all your fault, Shim Jae-kyung!

You forgot to put this on before you left.

You're really high maintenance.

How are you here?

Having a theft prevention tracking device is a basic necessity.

Hold on.

Isn't this near that woman's apartment?

You were still seeing her?

It will probably be better for you if you rely on me rather than that woman.

How can I rely on you when I can't trust you?

I told you life will be easier for you if you do.

Why do you keep insisting on taking the more difficult path?

Let's get rid of the car first.

The detectives aren't stupid.

Come on. Get out.

Hurry!

Drink.

It feels like we're on a date. It's been a while.

In the past,

we used to talk all day after ordering just a cup of coffee.

Here's your coffee.

Thank you.

I want to hear you say those words. It's been a while since you did.

Do you remember what you often said to me?

"A perfect woman like you is too good for me."

That's enough. I'm being chased by the police.

How did you find out where Yoo-min was staying?

Why did you go there?

Did you follow him?

Did you two plan this?

To steal the five million dollars?

You killed him while arguing over the money.

No! It wasn't me!

It wasn't me.

I believe you.

You don't have the guts to do that.

You have the guts to do it.

Shim Jae-kyung, you killed him!

No way.

This was your goal from the start.

You wanted to make me into a murderer from the start, right?

You're going to ruin our date.

Stop playing around and be honest with me!

You killed him, right?

It would've been different if I did it.

I would've done it without anyone finding out and without a trace.

I would've done it in a perfect way.

No.

You needed to frame me.

I pity you.

Why would I frame you?

If I wanted to do that,

then I would've made good use of the knife with your fingerprints on it.

For example,

like this!

What are you doing? Are you insane?

There would be damning evidence.

The police would arrive just in time and arrest you on the scene.

What?

They asked me to call if you contacted me.

They probably surrounded this place already.

Did you report me?

This is for your sake.

Welcome.

It's fine.

If you stay silent until 4 p.m.,

you'll be proven innocent.

- What do you mean? - Trust me.

I'll save you.

Give me the knife! Hurry!

Mr. Kim.

We finally meet.

Honey.

Let's go.

Did you know that when you use cellphones, you generate carbon dioxide?

Are you okay?

Thank you.

I'm feeling much better now.

Don't work overtime from now on.

You get sick right away.

Mr. Song, a kidnapping suspect,

was found dead today morning

near a motel in Jongno 5-ga.

A painting suspected to be done by Mr. Song and a knife were found.

The police believes it may be a suicide or a homicide. They're...

Why did you turn it off?

It will just make you feel more upset.

I'm sorry.

I didn't deposit last month's paycheck yet.

Would you wait just a little longer?

I understand.

Let me just ask one question.

Why were you near the crime scene

where Mr. Song's body was found this morning?

- What is it? - I don't know.

I know, right?

- Yes. - Hello.

Hello.

Is is true Mr. Kim was arrested by the police?

He went with them to give a statement as a witness.

He'll be back.

Will our restaurant be okay like this?

Mr. Kim's image continues to...

It's fine.

Just continue working as usual.

She's right.

We need to work harder at times like this.

Will you prepare a special dish before dinner?

You're very quiet today.

There's no hurry.

We have evidence.

To be honest,

I was wishing the best for you, Mr. Kim.

Because I felt bad about suspecting you at first.

But this isn't right.

Money was more important in the end.

What did she mean I'll be proven innocent by 4 p.m.?

Can I really trust my wife?

This is footage from a security camera at a convenience store

near where Song Yoo-min's body was found.

That's you, right?

You seem very flustered.

It looks like you're running away too.

It is me.

I was passing by and I saw the crime scene by coincidence.

I was shocked.

Are you going to say it's a coincidence again?

Is this a soap opera?

Running away was a coincidence too?

I wasn't running away.

Did he not die by suicide?

It was a homicide.

There was a knife found near the body.

On the handle,

Song Yoo-min's fingerprints were found.

He probably jumped, holding the knife in his hand, right?

Would someone committing suicide...

jump, holding a knife?

(4F Interrogation Room)

Detective Seo.

I got it.

You're curious how much we know, right?

Let go! I said let go!

Stop!

Yoon-chul!

- You can't do this! - Yoon-chul!

Stop!

It's me! I'm here!

Yoon-chul!

What do you think you're doing?

Let her go.

Detective.

I came to save Yoon-chul.

Didn't you two abandon each other?

To be honest...

we agreed to meet at a nearby hotel this morning.

We're still seeing each other.

Yoon-chul ran to keep that a secret.

He has nothing to do with Song Yoo-min's death!

It wasn't a nearby hotel. It was the same motel.

We reviewed footage from security cameras near where Song Yoo-min was staying.

We obtained the cleaner's witness statement too.

How are you going to explain that?

I...

I felt bad for that man. He was like me.

I wanted to meet him and persuade him to turn himself in.

But I didn't see him! I really didn't!

It would've been better if I did.

Then...

I could've stopped him from killing himself.

If you continue to tell lies like this,

then you'll be charged as working as an accomplice or hiding the suspect.

I'm telling you that Yoon-chul did nothing wrong!

He just went with me for my safety!

Did you really come for Mr. Kim?

I'm sure you came here for your sake.

You thought that it would be better if you tell us you're seeing him first

before we do after seeing his phone records, right?

Because you're smart.

It's a compliment.

I'm talking to him first right now.

So go home and wait for now.

You're next.

You're Ms. Jin Sun-mi, right?

I'm Ms. Shim Jae-kyung's lawyer.

I'm glad we ran into each other.

Ms. Shim asked me to pass this along to you.

She said you'll need this.

What is this?

It's your retirement money.

On the condition that you'll never get close to Mr. Kim again.

She said this should be enough to make you happy.

Please excuse me.

Fine.

Let's see who wins.

Excuse me.

Thank you for your hard work.

I'm Kim Yoon-chul's wife, Shim Jae-kyung.

Will you let me see my husband?

We're here voluntarily.

My client doesn't want to stay here any longer.

Isn't that right, Mr. Kim?

Yes.

Please release Mr. Kim this instant.

Is this what she meant...

when she told me to wait until 4 p.m.?

I understand.

Sir.

Detective Seo, that's enough.

I'm being released.

Mr. Kim, thank you for giving us your time.

Detective Seo!

Okay, let's go back.

Hold on!

On the tip of the blade found at the crime scene...

Mr. Kim's blood was detected.

Pardon?

(DNA Results)

(Test Method)

Song Yoo-min's fingerprints were found on the handle.

It's conclusive evidence that the two of them met.

We'll request an arrest warrant.

Wait, wait! Hold on! I...

Hold on!

It's my fault!

It's all my fault.

I'll tell you everything.

Jae-kyung.

What do you mean?

Yoo-min attacked my husband in our garage.

He was cornered.

So he said he'll kill my husband and then kill himself.

Hold on.

Are you saying Song Yoo-min was the one behind the kidnapping case?

That's what he said.

The blood found at the tip of the knife...

was from the day of the fight.

My husband nearly died because of him!

Do you really expect me to believe that?

I was in a hurry.

So I used this to hit his head.

And...

he stole our car's spare key to ambush my husband.

I'm submitting these as evidence.

Can't these be taken in as evidence?

We'll hold onto these.

Why didn't you report him to the police?

I asked him to turn himself in.

I thought it would be best for him too.

He asked me for some time to think.

I was waiting for him to turn himself in.

How could this happen?

Then what was Mr. Kim doing near the crime scene?

I...

I...

I had a bad feeling.

I felt like Yoo-min was up to something.

I told my husband I was going to go see him because I was worried.

My husband said it was dangerous so he went instead of me.

Yes, that's why I ran because I was so shocked.

The person I went to go see was dead.

Then...

why didn't you tell us the truth from the beginning?

Well...

Honey!

Be honest! Tell them you were just protecting me!

On the day my husband was attacked,

my husband said we should tell the police right away.

He said we might be charged with aiding and abetting a criminal.

I was trying to protect my friend.

And my husband wanted to protect me.

That's why he didn't say anything.

Honey.

I'm sorry.

No.

It's okay.

Fine.

I understand why your husband was there.

However,

it doesn't prove that he didn't kill Song Yoo-min.

His talk with Song Yoo-min may have not gone well.

It's possible that he killed Song Yoo-min without planning it

after a long argument.

My husband would never do that, even by accident!

Sir!

This was just delivered to the station.

N31.

To the detectives on the case,

please deliver this letter to Ms. Shim Jae-kyung.

It's from me, Song Yoo-min.

Jae-kyung.

From the day I drew you 16 years ago,

I admired you.

I wanted to be with you.

I thought that if I framed your husband who was having an affair...

then you would return to me.

That's what I believed.

But when I saw how happy you looked on the day you came back home,

my dream came crashing down.

But I couldn't give up.

I thought that if that punk died,

you would be free.

But I realized that you didn't agree with me.

Now...

everything is...

meaningless.

What I wanted wasn't money.

I set all of the five million dollars on fire.

Just like the money that made you unhappy,

I will disappear from the world.

If possible,

please put your portrait in my coffin and cremate it with me.

Thank you.

And I'm sorry.

It seems like this proves Mr. Kim is innocent of all charges.

We know that Song Yoo-min committed suicide for sure.

We can assume the kidnapping case is solved too now, right?

(Designated Delivery Time: 4 p.m. July 11, 2020)

(Designated Delivery Time: 4 p.m.)

It's fine.

If you stay silent until 4 p.m.,

you'll be proven innocent.

Was this her hidden card?

You're perfect, Shim Jae-kyung.

- It's Kim Yoon-chul! - He's here!

Mr. Kim, is there any progress to the case?

Why were you summoned by the police?

Do you have something to do with Song Yoo-min's death?

I'm sorry, everybody.

Yes, I'm sorry.

Please refer to the police's press conference

for more details.

- Let's go. - Mr. Kim!

- Please say a few words! - Mr. Kim!

Please say a few words!

They said there's a high chance that the handwriting is Song Yoo-min's.

What will happen now?

We need to do the puzzle again.

We're not getting the big picture.

I missed something.

What did you miss?

I forgot that they're still married.

We will begin the press conference.

The suspect who kidnapped Shim Jae-kyung and demanded a large ransom,

Mr. Song Yoo-min,

committed suicide this morning by jumping out of a window.

We believe he was acting alone.

And we will close the case soon.

She's here.

Did you hear the police's press conference?

How do you feel right now?

Everybody.

By any chance,

are you hungry?

Here you go.

Thank you!

Is the food okay?

- Yes! - Thank you! We were hungry!

You're hungry, working hard because of us.

If you need anything more, please let us know.

- Thank you! - I'm surprised by Ms. Shim.

This was an amazing idea.

The restaurant will be naturally promoted.

Try it while it's hot.

Hey, it's her!

Camera! Get the camera!

I'm sorry!

I did something I should've never done!

I misinterpreted Mr. Kim's kindness...

and I crossed the line.

As a woman,

I hurt you in an unforgivable way.

I wanted to apologize in person.

It's all my fault.

I'm sorry.

Please forgive me.

I want to continue working here.

I'll work harder than anyone else and I'll repent for what I did.

You can swear at me.

I'll gladly take everything you throw at me.

And I'll just work hard.

Please...

let me...

work here again.

I beg you.

What are you doing? Get up.

Everybody makes mistakes.

You can start over again.

Please continue to...

take good care of our restaurant.

Thank you.

Thank you!

Amazing!

Let's give them a round of applause!

I knew you would say that.

Meat is all about timing!

I know when it's perfectly cooked and tastes the best!

Hurry up and eat.

Thank you, sir.

Eat up.

Eat.

Here.

Investigating is all about timing too.

Relax! I'm just buying you lunch as a former colleague!

We're just bonding!

Okay?

I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I guess it'll be easier for the police to focus on Kim Yoon-chul as the culprit.

An unknown painter teams up with a cheating husband.

He kidnaps the wife and demands a ransom.

Then the two argue over money

And so, Kim Yoon-chul murders Song Yoo-min.

He may have voluntarily came to the station this time.

But you can get an arrest warrant after obtaining evidence!

Okay! It's because of my ex-wife!

I couldn't just sit back and do nothing!

Should I order more or not?

Thank you for the meal.

Sit! Sit!

Come on!

I was just kidding!

Goodness!

Ma'am! Can we get two more servings of rib eye?

I'm burning up inside.

Pardon?

The meat's burning.

There was nothing unusual?

The cooler.

Cooler?

Yes.

There was something interesting inside it.

Were there coals inside the cooler or something?

Coffee beans.

Coffee beans?

Coffee beans?

Coffee beans.

It was sent from this store.

Do you remember who bought it?

Why are you asking about that?

When I asked the restaurant, nobody knew about it!

Excuse me!

We don't take returns.

Of course! I need to know who sent it, so I can thank the person!

It was a man.

He looked like he was in his 30s.

Did you notice anything special about him?

I thought he was the chef.

- The chef? - Yes!

He brought a cooler.

So I thought he ordered coffee beans while he was grocery shopping.

- A cooler? - Yes.

Should we head home?

Aren't you going to ask?

How did I know the will was going to arrive at 4 p.m.?

It's fine now.

I trust you.

I guess you trust me now.

After thinking about it,

I realized all I did was get help from you.

To be honest,

I'm grateful to you.

To be honest,

I met Yoo-min last night.

Don't say anymore.

Please listen to the end.

I asked Yoo-min...

a favor.

I asked him to leave a will....

and go somewhere...

I asked him to go into hiding as if he committed suicide.

You didn't kill him?

It wasn't me.

Then...

Song Yoo-min really committed suicide?

The money. What about the money?

What happened? Is it all gone?

He probably meant...

what he wrote in his will.

Don't worry...

about money.

It's not much.

I have some money saved up.

It should be enough to pay for the urgent loans.

You need to continue operating the restaurant.

I...

I never imagined that he would end up like that.

Let's go home.

Let's go eat.

Let's wash up and brush our teeth.

Let's go to sleep together.

That's what it means to be married.

Honey...

You didn't do anything wrong.

You did your best.

You're...

a good wife.

Jae-kyung!

Oh, my!

Song Yoo-min?

Don't struggle on your own.

Tell me everything.

If there's anything I can do,

I'll do everything to help.

I'll protect you, Jae-kyung.

To me...

you're more important than art.

Will you die?

Can you die for me?

Leave a will...

and go hide somewhere...

as if you committed suicide.

If I do that,

will you come?

I wish you were a happy person...

instead of someone's wife.

Honey?

We'll start off fresh, starting today.

The early bird drinks the morning coffee.

I'm going to work early.

I remembered the touching moment from yesterday.

It's been a while since my heart raced like that.

I knew it. My wife is of the highest quality.

What year is this from?

It was almost...

perfect.

I knew it. My wife is...

of the highest quality.

It was almost...

perfect.

Temperature and humidity are meticulously managed for Old Crop's coffee beans.

So this should've been in here.

If even one bean was outside,

then it means someone opened the sack of coffee beans that were being fermented.

I thought it was strange that the cooler contained coffee beans instead of money.

I thought it meant the coffee beans and money were switched at the market.

Coffee beans that weren't opened by anyone.

Right here.

It was something my wife would do.

Yes, let's say this is the price for opening up...

a memory I would never open again.

Since the money's still intact, it means the will about burning the money is a lie.

Then Song Yoo-min's death wasn't a suicide, but it was...

A homicide?

My wife is a really scary woman!

Who cares? I won't have to see her from now on.

I came to like the bitter taste of coffee...

because I became tired of the smell of the oil, which I smelled since I was young.

(Maxearl House Coffee)

Please give us fried chicken.

Sure.

Is it done?

Hey, why aren't you helping?

We're busy! Hurry up and wrap this up!

Even if I had to eat just one meal, I wanted it to be a proper meal.

(How to choose coffee beans)

Even if it was just a cup of coffee,

I wanted to drink it elegantly.

Even though I became a chef, the food I prepared

just ended on top of the tables of those who were wealthy.

I was still hungry.

I needed to climb higher.

This is my last...

ladder.

(Wife)

Good morning!

A postcard just came in the mailbox.

A postcard?

It's from Song Yoo-min.

What?

It has a new cell phone number on it.

I think he was trying to tell me.

What do you mean?

It means that...

Yoo-min never planned to commit suicide!

Yes.

There are many things that are strange.

For example, why was the knife dropped in our garage found with him?

He was murdered by someone.

I'm sure of it.

You know very well who that is.

The person who had to become a suspect to save me.

Then you should've called the police instead of calling me!

The police!

It's because I'm worried about you.

You're sure you're not worried about something else?

Please be careful, Yoon-chul.

Okay, I will.

I will.

There's an enemy we don't know.

Okay.

I understand.

Don't be ridiculous.

I just need to be careful of you!

I'd rather trust this money than trust you!

Why are you calling so early?

Five million dollars!

I got it!

Five million dollars?

I found it in the coffee bean storage room!

We'll take this money and run away!

Okay?

Sweetheart.

Sweetheart, what's going on? Hello?

(My Dangerous Wife)

An eye for an eye.

Poison for poison.

I'll use the poison he tried to use to kill me

to get back the five million dollars.

There's no way of knowing what might happen

if we get caught.

Your wife is going beyond my expectations.

That crazy woman kidnapped Chae-rim!

No! Don't go!

It was you, wasn't it?

You killed Song Yoo-min, right?

I will get rid of the person

who took something precious from me

without mercy.
