we did the Frock Destroyers,

the choreography, didn't you?

- I did.

hard on me a little bit.

But I think this choreography
is gonna be like that times 10.

But the judges
already know that,

so there is
an added pressure to that.

This is pretty much the same
as the girl group challenge,

and I ended up in the bottom.

It was the performance
that let me down.

Hopefully I've got faith
in my lyrics.

I've just gotta smash
that performance and sell it.

I've been doing drag
for nearly 11 years now,

and my whole career is boiling
down to this one challenge.

I cannot fuck this up.

I was, like, if I make,
like, week three,

- Really? So did you
bring enough outfits

for the whole span
of the competition?

- Apart from
the family resemblance,

and I think that was proven.

- Well, you know, interesting

about the family
resemblance thing,

because there seems to be

some unfinished business
with your mother.

- I've probably spoke to my mum,

like, seven times in,
like, 10 years.

- Really?
- Why?

- I'm not saying she's, like, a
bad mum or anything, she's not.

But I was, like,
brought up with my nan.

So it's, like, yeah, all
my teen years was with my nan.

So it was just a bit like--

- Because Mom wasn't around,
she was--

- She was around, but, like,
she had, like, a new partner,

and my mum's got other children,

because there was
no room as well.

So it was like a mutual decision

that I live with my nan
kind of thing.

- Did you feel put out?
Did you feel forgotten?

- I'm not playing the victim,

because I've had
the best life ever.

My nan spoilt me rotten.
[laughs]

- I don't think you admitting
that you're hurt,

that's not you
playing the victim.

So I think you've built up
a really thick skin

and a really tall wall.

- I've got a very thick skin.

Like, I'm used to people
being horrible and stuff,

so I'm just like--my mechanism,
like, is just comedy.

If somebody says,

"Oh, you're a pissed,
old, ugly bitch,"

I could be like,
fuck you, wanker.

You know what I mean? Like.
[laughs]

So comedy really helps me.

- How do you think
your life will change?

- Oh, my God, I think

what you've given me more than
anything in this competition

is, like, a certain amount
of professionalism.

That's the word, because I
wasn't very professional before.

You've brought it out of me.
Even I'm surprised.

I used to go on stage and do,

You have given me the biggest
kick up the ass ever.

I feel amazing.

I feel, like, fresh.

I feel--
yeah, I wanna keep it going.

- I think this is a pivotal
turning point in your life,

not just as a drag queen,

but just you as a human
on this planet.

And what was the thing
that you hadn't counted on

in entering this competition?

- How much I would
second-guess myself.

Like, I try and be perfect.

That's the thing.
I try and be perfect.

I'm so hard on myself
to be perfect,

to be the funniest,
to be the highest kick,

to be the best vocal,
to be--you know--

that quite often, that
just sets you up for a fall.

- And what factor does
all the other contestants--

how do they play into making
someone second guess themselves?

Because allowing those voices
to rent space in your head,

that's on you.

- Absolutely, and I apologised
to Viv, because--

- So it's Viv--Vivienne
is who you're talking about.

- Is she the voice in your head?

Because you've said

that you were underestimated
by the other girls.

- Absolutely. It became
a sort of weird fixation

because I respect her so much.

And I love her,
I love what she does,

and I've watched her grow.

Because she hadn't seen
the same growth in me,

I allowed that to affect me.

- Do you think that was
a strategy of hers

to undermine you?

- No, I don't think so.

It doesn't matter
whether it was,

because I gave it power.

So that is my responsibility.

And I became so wrapped up
in A, being perfect,

and B, what do these people
think of me,

because I just clearly

am so desperate for validation
from my peers.

- Where's that perfection thing
come from?

- Mum's quite hard.

My husband
is incredibly hard on me.

And I am even harder
than any of them.

I don't want to put
something on stage

that I don't feel
I've put enough work in,

because I feel like
I'm disrespecting my audience.

- You're absolutely right,
and I believe you do that.

Have you given your all
to this competition?

- I have done every single thing
that I could possibly think of.

- [laughs]

And like even just sitting here,

I mean, "What's the Tee"
was just instrumental

in me changing my life
in the past four years.

I struggled with addiction,
and I'm two years clean now.

- Really?
- Yeah.

- What was your poison?
- Ketamine.

- Did you live your life
in a K-hole?

- Yeah, it was breakfast,
dinner, and tea.

I could have three bags of it
just putting my face on.

- How long
had you been doing it?

- On and off for four years.

- Really?
- Yeah.

- What made you stop?

- I just had to stop.

It was a case
of doctors were telling me

I was gonna be dead
by the time I was 30.

I was getting evicted
from apartments.

- I had nowhere--
I was making good money.

I was in drag six nights a week,

and I was living
like a poor person.

- Yeah.

- I bumped into some guys
that I knew from Gran Canaria.

They asked me to go
and do a gig at Pride.

I did it,
I was there for a week,

and I just felt
like myself again.

I hadn't touched anything
all week.

And then spiralling from that,
I met David, we got engaged,

and now I'm sitting here
with you two.

It's just nuts, isn't it?

I'd love to help people
in my position.

I mean, drag and the gay scene
is riddled with drugs and abuse,

and I don't think there's
enough support out there.

- Mm-hmm.
Well, you know,

I've been sober for many years,

and hopefully
you'll stick with it.

Hopefully you'll understand
what a great talent you are,

and what you have
to bring to this world.

- Ru has gone through a similar
thing that I've gone through,

so it was great
to get the perspective

of the world's
biggest drag queen.

And he really gave me
some good advice.

- Do you think we represented

all the British types
of drag well?

- Oh, amazing.

Absolutely amazing.
I had a big fear

that everyone was gonna try
and be Americanizing themselves

and saying y'all come to you
and all that,

and I'd just be like,
shut up,

I'm from Liverpool.
I don't speak like that.

But we've got Baga.

If I'm going out on a Sunday for
a pint, that's who I wanna see.

I just tend to care
about my look a bit more.

- What advice do you have
for three-year-old Mark?

- Ugh, you're gonna have
some hard times in life.

You're gonna be hurt,
you're gonna be heartbroken.

But yet it's gonna get better.

an amazing life.

illusionist called RuPaul.

loads of advice

on it's okay to show emotion,

know how you're feeling.

do you have

for three-year-old Owen here?

- Not everything is your fault,

everybody else's problems

on your shoulders.

and don't worry about it.

Right now, it's not great,
but look to where you wanna go,

and that's what I would say
to three-year-old Owen.

Viv, what advice do you have
for seven-year-old James?

- You're gonna grow up with
the most amazing family

and the most amazing mum.

And then you're gonna see
the lights of the big city,

and you're gonna make
some wrong decisions.

Just try and say no,

because in a few years' time

it's gonna get you in a lot
of trouble with your health

and your friends
and your home life.

So just try
and stay away from that.

But you're gonna be doing
what you love to do,

and that is just gonna be
such a hell of a ride,

because you're going to
end up on "Drag Race"

with all these amazing people.

And that is better than anything
that anyone could ever give you.

Why should you and not
one of your fellow queens

be named the UK's first
"Drag Race" superstar?

I think these two
deserve it way more than me.

They're amazing

- This is really difficult

for me to talk about
why I'm good at anything,

but I'm gonna give it a go.

I have been consistently good

throughout this competition.

At points, I've been
absolutely incredible.

There is still
so much for me to learn,

but for 10 years I've been
developing all of those skills.

You know, choreography,
stagecraft, editing,

writing scripts, doing TV work,
learning about the industry.

I don't feel any of us deserve
it more than anybody else,

but I think if I was crowned,
you would get somebody

who was going to bring
a kindness and a softness

to what can be
quite a hard art form.

- Well, I think time after time

I've shown you
from challenge to challenge,

runway to runway,
that I am a strong queen,

a hell of an entertainer,
and a really funny person.

But apart from that skill set,

I really think I bring
a humbleness, relatability

and likability to this craft.

I think being
an amazing performer is great,

but I just think
being able to relate to someone

who's a bit common
is just so much more endearing

than having all the skills
under the world.

I haven't got all the skills
in the world,

but what I have got is the tools

to make someone
feel at ease with themselves.

And I eat, sleep,
and breathe drag.

It's what I do.

It's what I love to do
more than anything else.

And that's why I should be
the UK's first drag superstar.

was very hard.

I think American drag queens

and they're able to tell you
without you thinking,

and made you drag superstar?

So I got that Baga did that.

And then it was quite shocking
when we went to Divina

and kind of went,
"Let me tell you."

I thought, ooh!

- I thought with Divina we were
gonna get a PowerPoint display.

- Baga is quite an act.

I've loved watching her

just bloom on the stage
and in this competition.

In the challenges,

- Where Baga
lacks in self-esteem,

Divina will tell you
at every minute she gets

the beginning, a triple threat.

She can sing, she can act.

We saw tonight she can dance.
She can do everything.

But she has absolutely made some
questionable fashion choices.

- I must say,
the Posh On A Penny outfit,

I thought that was the closest
to true high fashion

we've seen on the runway
all series.

And I was very surprised that
of all the people to do that,

it was Divina.

And there's a consistency
to Divina,

and that's reflected in the fact

she's never been
in the bottom two.

And she's not here
to mess around.

She intended
to end up in this final,

and goddamn it, she has.

- The dancing today
was just amazing,

doing those splits
and lip syncing.

- Divina is a very smart
competitor.

I will always remember
her Mrs. Moo.

- We serve them soup for

- She was the best actress
of all of them.

She told us several times.

she sold it probably the most.

Divina was flipping around
the stage,

but you know what?
Viv was selling it.

She was selling it
with her face,

she was selling it
with her body.

- The Viv is a perfect example

of the 21st century
British queen.

I think she is
a great representative

of what this competition
can turn out.

- She absolutely came here
to slay,

and I think The Vivienne could
leave at the end of the day

very happy and very proud
of the work that she's done.
