Original subtitles

-Grudge racing. -Grudge racing.

-Grudge racing. -Grudge racing.

-Grudge racing. -Grudge, all night.

We're looking forward to it.

Farmtruck: Welcome to grudge racing,

a side of no prep you've never seen before.

-We got a callout. Who you want? -Ryan martin.

This would be easier if you just ask who wants to call me out.

Hey! [ laughter ]

friendly grudge? That doesn't work.

-Come here! Come on! -Hey!

[bleep] you want to do something?

I will [bleep] anything you get in.

-$90,000. -[ screams ]

-oh, crap! -Strategy starts here.

Daddy dave: If I race against somebody during a grudge,

I'm gonna take that data and hand it to my team.

Keep it in the circle.

Man: The only way it's gonna happen

is somebody taking out ryan early.

-One, two, three! -[bleep]

kye: Everyone's expecting it to be all about okc and texas,

but nola's about to make a big statement.

Team nola to the front, man!

Azn: And gathering data can be the difference...

Let's see what we got.

...Between winning...

Whoo! - I think she's back.

...And losing $40,000.

Grudge racing... - Whoo!

...Is where no prep champions are truly born.

Ryan fireball martin!

-Yeah! -So buckle up.

This is "no prep kings: Grudge night."

-thanks for coming out. -Yep, of course.

Got to get -- you getting it? Okay, got it?

-[ laughing ] -yeah, man.

-Hell yeah. -All three of us here.

Tonight I'll get a 2. Yeah, wait, what number are you?

You could do, like, 7 or 8.

-Yeah, I could do this. -[ laughs ]

appreciate it.

-What are you doing over here? -Oh, come to talk a little bit.

What? Come to talk a little bit.

Come to talk a little bit?

Nice to meet you guys, very nice to meet you.

Okay, sorry, I'll be right back.

Sorry. Blame chuck, not me. It's my fault.

Farmtruck: This is farmtruck and azn,

and we're here in madison, illinois,

just outside of st. Louis,

and big chief is making his first no-prep appearance.

Azn: With teams banding together this season,

chuck is eager to let a fellow 405 racer know

what no prep is all about now.

Okay, so, just to keep you in loop, you know,

ryan led the whole season

and then got clipped at the last race.

And then we realized what they were doing all season long

was they would grudge against us,

then they would share all of our information

to tell them how fast we were.

Oh, that's a real thing?

Yeah, that's a real [bleep] thing.

So this season, what we do is, we're smarter.

So they're mad at us because we won't grudge race them.

We share stuff amongst us. Like, if I grudge-race chuck 55

or ryan grudge-races poncia, you know what I mean?

And that way, we work as a team so one of us wins a championship

so we don't have to listen to the rest of america.

Friendly grudge? Friendly...Grudge?

They don't go in the same sentence.

Yeah, that doesn't work.

Your guys, our guys, together guys, whatever they are,

I'm not really in the group yet.

I would suggest, make these son of a bitches pay for it.

What do you mean?

Well, like, on the street, you know?

Like, people always get mad because they come to my town,

they want to race the fastest guy there,

but they want to do it for 500 bucks

just so they can get data.

If you made them pay for it, they wouldn't do it.

Don't tell them no, just tell them $5000 or something.

If they think they can show up here

and call out the baddest dude here or one of the 405...

Yeah. Make them pay for it, you know?

Yeah, then if you win, it's worth it.

Farmtruck: Chief will look for his footing today

on the track, but he's got a huge advantage

with the support of team okc behind him now.

Azn: And his strategy as a roaming hit man for the 405

makes him an immediate threat to every driver here.

-Thanks, chuck! -Just keeping you up to speed.

Thanks for the pep talk! I feel great.

Chuck: Alright. See you, man.

Farmtruck: Coming into st. Louis,

team okc has been working together

and only grudge racing each other.

And now they've got big chief joining them.

Azn: Meanwhile, texas followed their lead

with grudge strategy,

but just hasn't been looking as strong.

Tonight, though, boosted is joining in with team texas,

so we'll be looking to see what he's working with.

Last grudge night, we saw nola come together, as well,

but teams aren't going to be the only thing

affecting grudge races tonight.

Farmtruck: The rain in st. Louis

has been coming down all morning,

which will affect the track conditions

and probably make it a little harder to get down this track.

Azn: More passes will help these racers figure it out,

and if they keep working together,

they might be able to find a winning tune.

You ready?

-'sup? -Go team.

What do we need? I think we're good.

I mean, I'm gonna go over my tune-up with ryan

and make sure it'll go a-to-b and kick some ass.

Look, we'll go up there and help you.

We'll help you line up.

Yeah, he's gonna need help. This is all I got.

Farmtruck: With nola and texas on their heels,

it's more important than ever for the 405 to stick together

and stick with their strategy of only racing each other.

Azn: But good news for the home team --

okc is stacked with heavy hitters

and ready for another good night of racing.

If you need anybody helping you line up,

if you need -- if you just want to go over tune-up

with somebody for a second opinion,

whatever you want, whatever you need.

-Chuck, you good? -Good. Okay.

I think the weather's actually gonna help us.

As everybody knows, the worse the track is,

the better the nola group does, so...

Absolutely.

Last race, track wasn't so good.

All the nola cars went right to the top.

I think nola's gonna come home with this championship.

That's our plan. - That's the plan.

Alright, if you just want to look everything over,

make sure we don't have any leaks or anything,

I'm gonna go check with kye, make sure

he don't need anything. We got to check on the team

and make sure the whole team is ready,

so I'll be back.

Azn: Back in new hampshire,

team nola decided to put aside their differences

and join together to fight team okc and team texas.

Let's put our group back on the map.

-Yeah. Bam! -[ laughing ]

azn: And after grudging as a team

for just the first time...

You was [bleep] fast, dude! [ laughter ]

yeah! - God!

...Lizzy won the main event.

[ shouts, cheers ]

[ both laughing ]

lizzy musi! [ crowd cheering ]

1.8, 1.2, 1.4,

1.6 with a lockup.

This tune-up outran ryan martin.

We will be fine with this tune-up.

I promise you that. This thing's gonna haul ass.

Farmtruck: With the weather and a slick track,

data from these grudge races is going to be super important.

As always, if they keep communicating with each other

throughout the night and letting each other know what's working

and what's not, it's going to pay off.

Barry just needs some help on

just different tune-up issues and different things.

His transmission was flaring

on the shift change, too.

Yeah, I think that's to do with the clutch pack and all.

I don't know. Our plan is just to run the [bleep] out of them.

The only thing I'm worried about is the track, man.

It's been drizzling rain all day.

Yeah. - I guess we'll know

after lizzy makes her pass, right?

[ laughter ]

guinea pig. - Yep.

Azn: Texas has also banded together.

But, going into tonight,

they've got a few hurt cars on their team,

like shawn wilhoit's mistress.

You know you got a number-1 car.

The car is... I think the car is there.

I wouldn't say "think." I mean, I've seen this bitch run.

It's there. You already buy the best parts

you can buy, and you can't help if you have parts fail.

You know, that could happen to anybody

or any racer out here, so...

Here, before long, it's gonna be right

and we think it's there now. Cool deal, man. Good luck.

If you need anything, holler at us.

Farmtruck: While part of team texas focuses on fixing their cars,

the others will continue to grudge as a group

and share data with the team.

Azn: And on this grudge night, team texas could be getting

a much-needed boost to their lineup.

Farmtruck: Boosted is taking his big-tire car

down the no-prep track,

and it comes just at the right time.

With so many cars out tonight,

team texas needs all the data they can get.

So their plan is to get whatever available texas cars

out on the track for fast, clean, passes.

Oh, are you? Okay.

I'll probably need it. This thing's slow.

My car is a pile of junk, but you know what?

Let's see how good you are at pushing.

In the end, this is a team event, so anything

I can do to help the team, I'm gonna do it.

Huh?

Come paint it for me!

farmtruck: Team okc is kicking off

st. Louis's grudge night

with robin roberts and jeff lutz.

azn: This is the first pass of the night for these guys,

and in these conditions, they're just looking

for a pair of clean passes.

[ cheers and applause ]

farmtruck: Lutz and roberts both shook the tires

right off the starting line.

That means they both have a lot of learning to do

to figure out what tune they need

to get down this track.

Azn: That's a sign we're gonna see a lot more adjusting

and them trying to figure out how to get down it.

But lutz was able to correct himself

and get straight to finish the pass,

and the 405 will want to build off his decent first hit.

-I just lifted early. -Okay.

It was just walking just a tiny bit,

and I didn't feel like it. I got three more, so...

[ chuckles ] - how'd you do?

Good, good. Shook a little bit, but it was drivable.

It was a little hot.

All good. [ engine starts ]

farmtruck: Recently, daddy dave's been dealing

with motor issues.

He broke on the line during his first grudge race

in new hampshire.

So a strong start in st. Louis is what he needs.

So, even though we tripped on our dingy last event...

It just can't happen again.

I don't feel like we are. Yeah, I mean...

We made some changes.

We did. But it's over that.

It happened. It's in the past.

Move on.

Still learning. - Still learning.

Let's go out here and do our thing.

Yeah, I'm ready.

Azn: He's lined up a race against doc,

who's been flying lately, and doc wants to show he's still

one of the fastest cars on the property.

Farmtruck: After seeing lutz get a little shaky...

[ engines revving ]

...These two heavy hitters are looking to take what lutz did

and find a tune that works on this track.

coming up...

Big chief: Good? - Yep.

Alright.

Big chief makes his no prep kings debut.

Big chief: One of the main reasons for coming here

is just find out how far behind I am.

Azn: Boosted starts this season with team texas.

-Right, for sure? -Yeah, oh, yeah. It's close.

Hell yeah. That thing's close.

Farmtruck: Nola continues to grudge as a team...

Pretty good lick from where I was at.

Yeah! - [ chuckles ]

...While team okc pushes

to get as much data on the track as possible.

-Boom! -Who did?

-Fireball. -Well, did I look fast?

[ cheers and applause ]

farmtruck: Doc trees dave

and then immediately pulls to the right.

And that's all dave needs to get around doc,

but he shakes on the big end.

Azn: The weather is definitely affecting the track,

so dialing in the right amount of power

is still a work in progress.

-Sketchy on the big end. -Yeah.

Dude, I was hovering it and the steering wheel

was too far, and I'm like,

"eh, if I grab this thing, it's gonna smoke..."

I thought you might've grabbed it

and that's why it was doing that.

It's just slick up there.

Yeah, it's just slick up there.

Azn: But it does look like the sun is coming out,

and that will warm up this track

and make it a little easier to handle.

Farmtruck: That could mean we're going to see

some faster passes on this track.

After a disappointing run in new hampshire,

ryan martin and team okc needs the fireball

to start out strong in st. Louis.

I just look at the marks on the turbos.

Finally paying off. - Yeah.

Put the mark.

If it touches, it'll scrub the black off of it.

They're taking nothing for granted, and his team

is checking every single detail on his engine.

I don't think either one of them really was, right?

Well, eh, this one was a little bit.

That's when I told you it smoked a little and you were like,

"ah, it's 'cause of the oil", and then it touched down.

Well, I'm saying we've tested it since then.

I don't think it smoked either time.

farmtruck: With track conditions changing,

it's important that ryan puts down a good pass

and collects info to share with the rest of team okc.

He and chris poncia are trying to see how much power

this track can take now.

poncia gets ryan off the tree.

The fireball lays down a powerful, fast pass

and flew down this track.

Azn: Ryan had that camaro straight as a string the entire time,

an indication that ryan's got a solid tune

for the drier conditions.

[ cheers and applause ]

good?

Alright, you ready?

Farmtruck: Big chief invented no-prep racing at tracks.

And I don't know why he disappeared for years,

but now he's doing his fair share of trash talking,

and big chief finally is making his no-prep debut.

Azn: Unlike the rest of the 405, he's decided to race someone

outside of their team.

I'm standing amongst some of the best

no-prep guys in the country.

It's my first day here.

One of the main reasons for coming here

is just find out how far behind I am.

Azn: His first race comes against mike bowman

out of california, in a chevelle.

Farmtruck: It's an interesting break in strategy,

and we'll see if it pays off.

Maybe he's just trying to keep his head down,

get his feet under him before he jumps into the whole team plan.

Azn: Chief's starting from nothing,

so he's looking for every scrap of info he can get.

Plus, he knows everyone's watching to see what he can do.

[ cheers and applause ]

and chief has to pull the chutes early on the big end

as mike bowman beats him to the win light.

Farmtruck: It's not a dominant performance,

but chief has seen what this track has to offer

and what no prep is all about.

Not too bad for our first lick.

We didn't do bad for our first lick,

but that was his, too.

That was his first lick at no prep, too, remember?

I wanted to come out here and see just how far behind I am

with the same combinations that I won bristol with

two years ago in the same car.

Obviously, I took too much of it

'cause it left and it was just like...

Man, it was up. - It left so good

I was like, "man, I should've had more in it".

And then when it sat down, it's like it didn't have enough

and it started moving around and shaking.

But then it went right through it

and I was like... - It went.

Turns out, they've advanced.

They're a little faster than they were then.

We got to feel that. We got out ass kicked.

Yep. Now we...

Lose money and, you know, get data.

Yeah, tuition.

Tuition. - That was tuition.

Azn: Texas have been working together

since the first grudge race night,

and now we're seeing it again -- this time, with a new face.

[ engine revs ]

boosted is finally ready to roll out his big-tire car,

and for his first pass,

as luck will have it, he's going up against kayla.

Farmtruck: Boosted is looking to put down a solid first pass,

while kayla wants to show she's one of the fastest cars

team texas has.

So both are going to push each other to make a fast pass

to start off team texas grudge night.

[ cheers and applause ]

kayla got out early and shook a little bit on the big end,

but held a good amount of power throughout.

Azn: A nice pass for her and texas.

As for boosted,

he'll look to build off his first pass on big tires

after coming off the tree a bit slow.

Good job. - Hey, hey.

Hey. - How was that for you?

-Better. -Better?

It actually left. - Okay.

We just made our first pass of the year

in an actual racecar.

And, you know, our goal going into this pass,

it was to go from the starting line

to the finish line without having to pedal.

So, I mean, we put in our very conservative tune-up.

Better. Nice!

But is that right, for sure? Yeah, oh yeah. It's close.

Hell yeah. That thing's close.

It left pretty soft.

I'm still learning what a big-tire wants.

I have no idea. I mean, that was literally

the very first pass on the motor, everything.

So, we're gonna look at the data

and put some nuts to it and see if we can actually go fast.

Alright, good job. - Okay.

Kind of ran out of gear at the high end.

It is really rpm-ing.

Like, my shift light's on for a long time.

It's slipping too much.

Other than that, it was a good pass.

[ cheers and applause ]

azn: Team texas is starting out behind a little tonight

because they're down a few cars.

Farmtruck: But kayla made a pretty decent pass,

and now eric bain and ronnie pace

are hoping to do the same.

[ engine revs ]

[ engine revs ]

farmtruck: Eric bain left a little early -- again.

It didn't tire shake or nothing.

Like, I don't even think I need to make a second run.

How'd yours do? Went down good?

Yeah. Yeah, it did.

I mean, I just want somebody from texas to [bleep]

take this [bleep] home, man.

Farmtruck: This is farmtruck and azn,

and birdman's up next.

[ engine starts ]

birdman is a household name, but his success on grudge night

hasn't been carrying into the main events.

Azn: And now, tonight,

with limited texas cars ready for grudge racing...

...He's decided to go outside of team texas' circle

to take a race against rich bruder in the vixen.

Farmtruck: The vixen is another heavy hitter.

It's a good chance for birdman to show off what he can do

against other serious competitors.

[ cheers and applause ]

birdman shook at the top and wasn't able to catch vixen.

It's not a solid grudge pass

and could spell more trouble for him in st. Louis.

Ugh! - Little sketchy out back.

I was coming over on you.

I said, "this ain't a race. I quit".

Would've gone right into the wall.

[ laughing ] I know. With all that moving around.

That's it. Good job.

I said, "I want to race him and I can't."

if it was in a race...

In a round, it'd be different.

If it was in a round I'd have to race you, but...

They're moving around a little bit out back.

Yeah, I shook a little bit up top.

And I didn't see it. I'm like,

"I'mma lift." phew! You went.

I said, "damn! He was right there!"

now we got some data so we'll work off that [bleep].

Farmtruck: Team nola is bringing lizzy musi to the line first.

Lizzy's first grudge is against reaper,

a racer without a team

who will definitely be trying to size up nola's heavy hitter.

Azn: But lizzy grudged against non-nola racers before

and seems less worried about giving away info

on her car and how it runs.

She's more concerned with getting her own data

and sharing with the team,

a strategy that's worked already.

Lizzy musi starts leaking fuel on the track,

so her race is over before it begins.

[ tires squealing ]

so we make a test hit and we didn't get the bars low.

So the car kind of picked the front end up,

backed the tires, carried it out there about 3 feet

for about 300 feet and I let off of it.

The track's not bad.

It's a little looser than what some people like,

but it's what that car likes a lot, so we're not

gonna turn it up, we're not gonna worry

about racing the car in the other lane --

we're gonna worry about racing this track.

This right here, if we're not on level ground, we need

to put it on level ground and double check this [bleep]

'cause this car never, never went 2 feet in the air.

Farmtruck: It's a frustrating start for reaper's grudge night.

We have no data to use now.

But even more so for lizzy. She didn't give anything away,

but she comes away with no data and a leak.

And it could be an early sign that team nola

has some weaknesses at this event.

In new hampshire, we saw some nola racers grudge each other,

and some grudge people who are outside their circle.

We're seeing that again tonight.

Lizzy raced reaper, but now we'll see kye

go up against barry nicholson from his own team.

Nola worked together and talked to each other

during new hampshire's grudge night,

and it's that kind of teamwork

that's gonna keep making them stronger and stronger.

barry put down a good pass,

and that should give him some confidence.

But kye shakes early and couldn't get any power down.

It's a run that won't scare anyone,

so he'll have to lean on his teammates to help him out.

Looked like you made a pretty good lick from where I was at.

Yeah! - Good job.

Thank you, brother.

[bleep] rattled my teeth out.

Mine popped about 330.

I don't know what [bleep] that was.

Hopefully it wasn't a rocker arm.

Yeah, I hope it wasn't. Well, I got spares!

[ both laugh ] - just glad it went straight.

I got to go figure out what happened.

I'm saying, man, I've been worrying all damn day.

Like, I'm never gonna get this [bleep]

street setup on this car.

Yeah, I still got it in there, I guess.

I put it back like it was. I don't know what I did wrong.

I don't know. - We'll figure it out.

Yeah.

Azn: As the track continues to dry out,

teams are scrambling to figure out

how much power it can take now.

Farmtruck: Team okc's chuck seitsinger and chuck 55

will build off ryan martin's earlier fast pass

and try to even put more power down.

chuck 55 gets the win,

but went up in smoke on the big end.

Looks like there might be some engine damage.

Unlike ryan martin,

he and chuck were moving around down the track,

so the 405 will have to look at what's changed since then.

[ cheers and applause ]

azn: With the sun setting on st. Louis,

the track is cooling down,

and that'll be an added element to take into account

while these guys are trying to make it down this track.

Big chief is back on the track.

Even though he put down a decent first pass,

he needs as much data as he can

to figure out this new style of racing.

[ engine revs ]

farmtruck: This time, chief is grudge racing jason lancaster

out of kentucky, a veteran street racer,

and a racer without a team.

azn: Lancaster starts to leak,

which means chief gets the solo pass.

He made an okay pass earlier, and now he's gonna try

and show exactly how much he learned from that run.

Farmtruck: With all eyes on big chief...

In the past, he's talked the talk.

Now let's see if he can walk the walk.

azn: Big chief makes another decent pass down the track,

but still shook the tires on the big end.

alright. Ah!

Farmtruck: And it's no surprise, he definitely looked better

that pass than he did on his first.

Azn: Definitely.

And I would like to think he'll just keep getting faster.

Well, I mean, it was fast that time, right?

-Yeah. -Just not fast enough for this.

No, we just need to -- I think we need to tune some.

Honestly, think we just need to...

[ clicks tongue ]

oh, yeah? We're gonna do some rear end?

I think so. - I like it.

Alright, well, let's go do that.

[ engine revving ]

azn: Daddy dave and chuck 55 want another go at the track.

They put down a solid first pass,

but like almost everyone else, they both shook at the big end.

Farmtruck: Now that the sun is down, these guys will be trying

to figure out what this track looks like at night.

azn: After getting off the line, chuck 55 blew up his engine.

Instead of getting more data,

he got himself more work to do fixing his car.

Farmtruck: And in the other lane,

daddy dave may have walked away with an injured motor, as well.

It's shaking real bad, like something...

Oh, man. Think it's shaking parts off?

Yes, I think so. - Oh, no.

Like, I think it broke the regulators

off the co2 bottle, 'cause it's over there leaking.

I'm like, "what's that noise?", and it's -- pssssst!

[ laughs ] [ vehicle approaching ]

it looked good.

Yeah, that was [bleep] fast. That was fast.

-Let go of the button, boom! -Who did?

-Fireball. -Well, did I look fast?

I don't know. I mean, you were back there!

I had my eyes closed. I seen a fireball!

"please god, please god!" - oh!

Man, that sucks.

Farmtruck: When a driver damages their car on grudge night,

there is no time to waste.

So chuck 55 has to get to work right away on his car,

hoping that he can salvage the night.

So, it looks like our problem started out

with number three cylinder.

This nitrous nozzle came unscrewed,

fell off down the hole, which caused it to spray

way too much nitrous in the number three cylinder,

which torched the edge of the piston, melted a spark plug.

There's the spark plug, what's left of it.

It literally melted the top three threads off of it.

When it exploded, it blew all the pieces loose.

I'll be back.

Azn: And without an extra spark plug, chuck 55

is going to have to ask for help to get his car back together.

-hey, guys. -What's going on? Yo.

I hope your luck's better than mine.

Oh, I mean... What is that?

We got two spray bars in our intake.

This went through the intake vent exhaust valve,

but it screwed up the thread.

Well, I was getting ready to tell you

how I have no nitrous parts, so you might be s.O.L.

However, I probably have that.

Top drawer. Yeah.

This right here? - You the man!

Might be your lucky day.

It is my lucky day.

I mean, considering.

You're welcome to that and anything else I have.

Obviously, as you know, it's really important

for all the 405 guys to stay together.

Whatever I got to do to help you, okay?

Well, I appreciate. Like I said, we got to stay as a team.

That's exactly right.

-Thanks, man. -Alright, buddy.

-Good luck. -See you. Alright.

Azn: That's the best-case scenario for chuck 55,

and it shows why being on a team is valuable,

but dave's problems may be too big for teamwork.

Aah!

[bleep] damn.

daddy dave: So it just broke one rod.

Farmtruck: The only fix for this is a new motor

and a lot of tuning time --

two things daddy dave does not have.

[bleep]

-tires good? -Yep, tires are rolling.

[ engine starts ]

azn: Up next, team nola is bringing

two heavy hitters to the line --

kye kelley and scott taylor.

Farmtruck: Kye kelley reworked his tune

after a disappointing earlier pass,

while scott's taking the track for the first time.

Plus, everyone's got their eyes on this race

to see what nola's bringing to st. Louis.

booyah!

Azn: Kye still has some trouble on his second pass,

and right off the starting line,

he goes right almost immediately.

Farmtruck: Lizzy is looking on, too,

and she'll definitely take that into account

if she can get her car back up and running.

[bleep] damn!

Azn: And she's not the only one taking notes.

Team nola's on fire,

and everyone's trying to find a way to put them out.

Whoo!

Good pass right there, buddy!

Moved around a little, then straightened up,

went right on through there.

Think we got the car to beat this weekend.

Man: I wouldn't put her on this track.

Put her on this side. Don't sit her on top of the track.

Put her over here.

Azn: Kayla morton grudged boosted earlier in the evening,

but wasn't too convinced with her setup.

It was really rpm-ing.

Like, my shift light's on for a long time.

It's slipping too much.

Farmtruck: With no other team texas drivers ready to grudge,

she's going up against the vixen.

Azn: It's a huge play for the bruder brothers,

who raced birdman earlier, and they're looking to come away

with two passes of data against two different texas drivers.

Yep, of course.

Azn: Although big chief is new to no prep kings,

it is hard to call him a rookie.

On the streets, he's been number 1 on the 405 list

more times than I can count.

Tell me I ain't the king of this city.

Farmtruck: Plus, he's shown he can win on a track,

taking out vets like the bird brothers...

-Big chief! -...And nola's kye kelley

on his way to claiming the championship at bristol.

Oh! [bleep] [bleep]

give kye kelley's bull[bleep] a rest.

"we gonna tree everybody! Ain't nobody leave on me!

Nobody out-60-footed me!"

azn: But, with constant changing track conditions

and serious competition,

no prep is far from easy to jump into,

even for legends like big chief.

-Yeah, tuition. -Tuition.

That was tuition.

[ cheers and applause ]

farmtruck: Kayla gets a clean start,

but has to lift immediately as she's getting sideways.

And vixen doesn't get a clean start and shakes on the big end.

Azn: The track has changed a lot

since the first passes in the daylight,

but vixen is coming away with intel

on two texas heavy hitters.

He'll be a dangerous matchup.

Farmtruck: With grudge night winding down,

team nola puts together one more race

between lizzy musi and kye kelley

to try to bank a little more data.

Azn: Lizzy had to shut down early in the day after her car

started leaking on the track during her burnout.

And kye's coming to the track for the third time,

hoping to get some decent power now.

Farmtruck: This is the last chance for this team

to get some quality data,

so it's all or nothing right now.

that's two more passes for team nola,

and a pretty good way to end the night.

Azn: Now they'll try to put their data together

and make sure all of team nola is flying down the track.

-Co2's on, right? -Yeah.

-Alright, let's get her. -We ready.

[ engine starts ]

farmtruck: Ryan martin has been watching nola band together,

and he's looking to step up and show everyone

he's still one of the top racers on the track.

Azn: One major difference this time

is that he's racing at night.

It's helpful to have data from different times of the day

so you can adjust as the track changes.

Farmtruck: Jeff lutz pulling to the line again,

and it rounds out another full grudge day

of the 405 committing to their own team strategy.

azn: Ryan martin edges out lutz at the big end,

and that pass made a statement.

I really feel like the 405's really kind of

clutching together to really try to make sure

that we can try to come out on top.

And I think, so far, it's really helped us out.

farmtruck: The 405 was able to put together

more grudge passes than any other team,

which certainly can help their cause here in st. Louis.

Ugh!

Azn: But it came with a price,

as daddy dave's car looks like it's no longer able to race.

It never just breaks a rod.

Didn't expect it to blow up.

Like, that bitch is vibrating pretty bad.

I'm like, "that's kind of new vibration.

I've never felt that".

Farmtruck: But team okc did not give up.

the entire 405 kept working together.

They got dave's car fixed.

And their teamwork paid off, as ryan got

all the way to the finals.

[ cheering ]

azn: And even though nola raced a few racers

outside of their circle,

they stuck together, helped each other out...

Man: Oh!

Azn: ...And lizzy made it all the way

to the finals to win again.

It showed their grudge strategy continues to make them stronger.

We pulled together, pulled through together.

Congratulations. - Thanks, man.

And we took home freaking $40,000 and this trophy home.

Thank you. - [ applause ]

farmtruck: Next on "grudge night"...

[ tires squeal, glass shatters ]

I just feel like the ball's in our court now.

-Yeah, it is. -It is.

But we got to keep oklahoma and texas

out of the winner's circle.

That's the game plan. They counted us out.

They ain't writing us off no more.

Azn: Team nola rolls into idaho

and continues their grudge racing strategy.

It's just not our atmosphere.

Farmtruck: Team texas struggles to find a winning game plan...

What just happened?

...While chief and team okc set their targets on nola.

Big chief: Plan here is to win the race.

To do that, you need data on the fastest people here.

The goal is to find out how fast she is.

If you guys don't have a racer and you'd like one...

See you do something, how about that?

Don't get left behind this season.
