of the muscles of the right hand.

I have motor neuron disease, Fran.

Average life expectancy is 4 years, but 5
percent of patients progress, then plateau.

There's some guy in his 60s who's still
playing golf 40 years into the disease.

They're starting me on a new drug
called Riluzole.

It's very promising at slowing
the progression of the degeneration.

There are going to be challenges,
but I'm hopeful about the new research.

And they' re setting me up
with a multidisciplinary support team.

Physical and occupational therapists,
nutritionists, speech pathologists...

- ...respiratory therapists.
