Those spirits of the
people who died there

could be in this house.

We've got to go really deep
into the roots of the story

within this family.

That's the bullet hole.

That was really tough
for her, but --

I need to go outside.

That bullet has energy to it.

Michael, can you see us?
[ oscillating static ]

aaron: Whoa!

Holy god,
that sounded like him.

You can see by the reactions
on their faces...

Billy: Yeah.
...It worked.

Zak: We have seen things
that defy explanation,

experiencing the best...

God, that was awesome!

That was so awesome.

...And worst...

These dolls are gonna
[bleep] take our souls.

...Of the places between worlds.

I want the portals
of this forest wide open!

Now it's time to look back.

One of my scariest nightmares
that we are about to relive.

For the first time ever,

I'm inviting you, the audience,
into my inner sanctum.

Together, we will pull back
the curtain on the biggest,

scariest, and funniest moments
from our investigations.

so, why do you guys
always wear black?

It's kind of --
it's all I own.

I like to accent it once
in a while with some color.

Zak: Hi, guys.
All: Hey, zak.

"hi, zak."
in stereo. [ laughs ]

so, what I want to do is
I want to start digging into

some of our deeper
investigations,

ones that we help families.

Kind of a de-briefing
for all of us

to go through what we felt.

Yeah. One of them
is very tough for me.

One of them, I had tears
going down my face

within the first hour
of us arriving,

and it gets real
serious sometimes,

and it gets real hard for us.

Which one are we watching?

Crisis in oakdale.
Aaron: Oh, wow.

This was a tough one.

Zak: This is gonna be
an investigation

that is gonna be really
troubling for all of us.

It's extremely sad,
it's very emotional,

and we're gonna be dealing
with a grieving family

from a very recent death.

This may be the hardest
investigation I have ever faced.

Not only are we going here
to help her,

but we're also going
to protect her

by figuring out what is inside
her house that is so sinister.

Zak: This private home
in oakdale, california,

has something dark
happening inside.

It seems that every man
who has lived in this house

has died an untimely death --

most recently,
the homeowner's son.

Some of these investigations,
we show up and they're more fun.

Some of them, they're just
historic haunted location

where we're going
and trying to get evidence.

And then you have these,

where you're walking in
and a family

just lost somebody weeks ago,
trying to help them with closure

by documenting evidence
of their loved one

who's been trying
to contact them.

I mean, this is tough to do.

And empathetically,
we feel it.

Yeah.

Zak: Hi, karon.
How you doing?

Okay. Been better.
Okay.

I'd like you to just start off
and tell me about the tragedy

that occurred a little
over a month ago.

I had a 27-year-old son who was
autistic, very high-functioning.

This last June, he decided to
see his father for father's day,

and his father took him out

and taught him how to load
and fire a gun.

A short while after, michael
went over to my father's house

and took an antique .38.

And then michael came home
and went in the bathroom

and shot his self
in the head.

This is a
coping mechanism for her.

This was her way
to help find closure

and just a remedy for her pain.

This was a method, and we were
there to support her,

support his spirit.

While she's sitting her
talking to us,

he's there, spirit of him
is there, listening to this.

It probably helps,
when we do investigate,

connect everything together.

karon: A week to the day
after his passing,

I was sitting right here.

I had not been able to go
into michael's room,

but something just, I felt,
guided me to his room.

And in the bottom
of his clothes hamper,

I found two letters from him.

Apparently, he'd been
planning this for a while.

In the letters,
he blamed his father,

and a person that
I don't care to name

had apparently molested him
when he was 8 years old.

We didn't know about it, and he
wrote it all out in this letter.

I want my son to rest in peace.

That was the most painful thing

I have ever read
in my entire life.

Zak: When she handed me
this letter...
Aaron: Oh, yeah.

And it was his handwriting,

describing why he took
his own life,

knowing that I am the only one
who's read that was a big thing.

And to hear those details
is something

that I'll never
tell anybody, ever.

I'll hold that with me here,

but I think it was important
for me to read that letter

to understand why

and to understand his emotion
and tone while he wrote that.

And that was gonna help me
better try to make contact

with him while we're there.

Karon: Michael --
he only watched three tv shows,

and one was "ghost adventures,"

because I watched it
and he would watch it with me.

Zak: Michael, if you're here,
we're here.

You watched us on television.

We're here for you,
we're here for your mother,

we're here for your family,

and please help your mother out
and just let her feel,

let her know that you can
move on now, with peace.

I feel that
our emotional energies,

at that point, joining together,

and then also being
linked together with her son

through him being a fan of us,
I think this, right here,

was the most important part
to connect with him.

To bring him, to manifest him

and to see the emotion
of not only her but me

and somebody
that he could recognize.

Zak: You believe
that he's still here?

Karon: I feel energy.

Do you think that
there's something here,

something else, before
your son took his life?

Yes. There's been doors
opening and closing.

There's been people
being touched here.

This is our job as
investigators, to dig deeper,

to ask these questions
that may be tough,

but we need to know
the back-story behind this.

So far, the men that have lived
in this house are all dead.

What do you mean?

I bought this house
23 years ago.

It was two years old. It had
been lived in for one year.

There was a young man
in his late 20s.

He was killed in an accident
on the colorado river.

I had a fiancé for
eight and a half years

who moved into my house.

13 years ago,
we found him strangled.

The police ruled it
a suicide.

And he was living here
at the time?

Mm-hmm.
Okay.

We need to know if there's
been a lingering curse

within the family.

We need to know if there's been
a generational demon

that's been attached to them.

I don't know if they're
just strange coincidences.

I don't know if it has
something to do with me.

I've thought
that a lot of times,

but I had always hoped
it would never affect my kids.

Why would it have
something to do with you?

My mother's death was
ruled a suicide, as well.

Those spirits of the people
who died there,

or even who are related
to them, died somewhere else,

could be in this house
and affect him,

but now he's there with them,

and how confused are
those spirits compared to him?

So it becomes this chaotic mess
where, over time,

a spirit becomes something
darker than it is supposed to.

And how do we know
what these other spirits --

if they also are coaxing him
to do what he did,

you know, just to get him,
this generational thing

that just keeps happening
over and over again.

And that's why most people
that see this and hear this,

they just see, "oh, he committed
suicide. He's stuck."

but we've got to go really deep

into the roots of the story
within this family.

Zak: Another detail karon
shared with me off-camera

is that her grandmother
was confined to an insane asylum

for speaking with the dead.

Do you have any requests
of anybody you want to talk to,

or somebody
that we can bring here?

I was kind of hoping
for a psychic or a medium.

Okay.

Karon decides to show me
michael's ashes.

But, before I see them,
I feel that it's necessary

to make something very clear
to her as the circumstances

and emotions are
so delicate and sensitive.

I don't make any guarantees.

Okay?

But what I do make
is a promise and a commitment

to you and your family
that I'm gonna stay here,

be here, and share the
emotion that you have,

in the hopes of reaching out
to the spirit of your son,

who you believe is still here,

and hopefully, he can
move on with peace.

The scary thought,
though, is if this is,

like, a generational demon

or something negative
affecting this family,

who's not to say it's gonna
keep doing it, you know?

And us learning this, like,

it might have something
that has a hold of the family,

which is even scarier.

karon hasn't been able
to go into the bathroom

where michael ended his life
just over a month ago,

but has suggested
we go together.

this was the most
disturbing part.

This was bad.

Her taking us to the bathroom
where he took his life.

You see the brown?

Zak: Yeah.

See right here?

His head was here, and the
back of his head was here,

and it ran that way.

So this whole brown
outline of his body,

and his head was here.

that's the bullet hole.

And I think, when I pointed out
the bullet hole in the wall...

that was really tough
for her, but...

I need to go outside.

...I just made the decision,

I think, that that bullet
needed to be...

Aaron: Which is a good point.
...Removed from the wall...

Billy: I agree.
...Because that bullet
has energy to it.

Absolutely.

And I think that what's done
has already been done.

And I think that
the physical reminders

of that violent event...

Billy: Removed.
...Should be removed
and just...

For sure.
...Fill the house with this,

with loving photos
and flowers and love.

Right.

Zak: We immediately
start the process

of removing the bullet
from the wall.

This is so difficult,
but I will do whatever I can.

We finally locate the slug.

Hopefully, this will
bring karon some peace.

week after michael's death.

Deanna, a psychic, details
numerous dark experiences

she had while here
and after she left.

Is there something else
in the house?

Family has talked about
things being in the house,

occurrences happening.

Did you ever feel
something, though,

that was darker or evil here?

Yeah, I definitely
felt something darker.

Like, the whole time
I was here,

I could feel something
grabbing my side,

like it was trying to, maybe,
attach to me or something.

Demonic?
Yeah.

Now it's time to really
focus on is michael there?

Is his spirit there?
Right.

You know, meeting with
some of their friends here.

It's important to know
what other spirits

might be there
besides michael.

Is there something holding
him there or tormenting him?

Do you think it's here?
Deanna: Yeah.

But I think it might
follow the family, I'm not sure,

'cause they're
grieving so bad and --

it's feeding off of that.
Yeah.

I think all the interviews
that we have

are important
for the diagnosis.

We're getting
information from them.
Zak: Yeah, 100%.

We always get a
little bit piece --

but it's my job, too, when I
interview them personally,

to see how genuine
these interviews are.

And what I was being told here
was very compelling

in that there were underlying
spiritual experiences

going on while michael
was alive and even,

you know, himself
was dealing with some of this.

Zak:
Evidence of a sinister energy

surrounding this family
is mounting,

confirming the presence
of darkness in this house.

Karon's daughter, jessica,

describes her
troubling observations

when they first moved in.

Zak: There's something else in
this house that you have felt?

Jessica: Yeah, I've felt
a lot of things.

There's definitely people.

We came.
They were already here.

Okay.

As long as I haven't got to
to up there, I can manage.

Is it the scene
of where it occurred

is what bothers you
the most?

I can't get past, like,
the sixth stair.

It feels like, you know,
when you jump in cold water

and your lungs...

I get that,
and I can't breathe.

Zak: I wanted this
whole family to help,

but I didn't want
to push them to do anything

that made them uncomfortable.

I know that, already,

they're not in their normal
everyday life at this point,

because they're dealing
with a loss, with grieving.

You know, I just went
through grieving of my father,

and that was about
a year, you know,

but the first
three months were --

you're just not yourself.

It's a really weird feeling.

So I didn't want
to push them too hard.

And they're re-living it,
talking it.

And it's a little more
intense, too.
Yeah.

Zak: Jessica decides she wants
to try and head up the stairs

in memory of her brother,
but as she reaches the top,

she is overpowered
by pain and sadness.

I can't go in there,
I can tell you that much.

It hurts.

Once I got to the top
of those stairs

is the first time
I felt something.

I couldn't breathe.
Billy: Exactly.

Something was squeezing
my chest there,

and it debilitated me.

I didn't know what this was,

but other people
are experiencing it.

Billy, you experienced it.

Yeah, I experienced it,
too, same spot.

Zak: Jessica's sister, alicia,
describes multiple experiences

she had both before and after
this most recent tragedy.

Was there an influx of activity
here after your brother's death?

Oh, absolutely.

And what type of activity?

You could just feel him
when you'd walk in the door.

It was just this electric
kind of energy.

the family friend
who cleaned the bathroom

where michael had
shot himself --

he had been talking
to my brother,

you know,
"why did you do this?"

he was close to my brother.
He was angry with him.

He had cleaner on the counter
when he was cleaning.

He witnessed it
fly off the counter.

He did?
Mm-hmm.

Poltergeist activity --

that means
"I want your attention."

right.
Knock something off.

"I'm here.
I need your attention.

Please look at me.
Please notice me."

how many times when we're
investigating, at first,

it might not feel it,
it might not be as dark,

but the deeper we get, we start
drawing out information.

Right.

Then that dark energy starts
making its presence known

and starts, I think,
trying to stop us.

Right.

Did michael ever complain
about ghosts or spirits?

His way of complaining
was a little bit different.

Yeah.

But he would say
things like,

"I need to get
out of this house.

I can't stay here anymore.
I need to get out."

and he could never really --

couldn't detail
the experiences.

Exactly.

Do you believe that it was
because he was being

influenced by
something unseen...

I do.
...Of a spirit or force?

I do, I really do.
Okay.

And do you think
this spirit or force

could be something dark
that is attached to your mother

and has influenced
your other relatives?

Yes. Yes.

Again, I've never said
this to her,

but when we lived in
a different house in hayward,

there were ghosts there.

I saw them myself.

So activity has been
around your family

since you were little.

It's been around as long
as I can remember.

Remember, this was
like a curve ball.

Like, there was ghosts
at the other house.

But what does that
tell you?

So, like, that's when
we were leaning towards

generational demon,
possibly.

Exactly.

Possibly a generational demon,
or just strong attachments...

Yeah.
...You know, of something.

You think it affects
the men in your family...
Yes.

...In a more negative way?

Yes. Yes.
Absolutely. Absolutely.

I don't know how to explain
what happened to don.

And when don lived here,

did he ever complain
of spirits or anything?

Don wasn't that kind of guy,
but I noticed a lot,

when he would be in this house,
he would get very angry.

So this would just be a
sudden change of rage?

Sudden.

And if he lived there
for 10 years,

he's probably haunting
that house,

'cause that's a house he liked.

When I was about 15,

and I had turned the tv off
for the night,

when I rolled back
towards my tv,

there was a face in the tv.

You saw a face
in your tv?

I saw a face in my tv.

Was it off?
It was off.
It had been off.

What did the face
look like?

He had black eyes.
In your television?

And I screamed.
In this house?

In this house.

That's not good.

Now this is now spinning
the investigation into...

What's attacking
this family?

...Is the family
being influenced by evil?

Is the family being influenced
by these generational demons

that have affected
previous family members

that also, coincidentally,
committed suicide?

zak: As we investigate
this residence,

jay and dakota will be
in the backyard

monitoring a live nerve center.

Michael, this is zak
from the tv show

"ghost adventures"
that you used to watch.

We're with your
grieving family,

who claims that activity in
the house has really picked up.

Soon, I'm gonna bring your
mother and your sister inside.

Then I'm gonna bring
a man that has a gift.

He can see you visually.

Does this all sound
okay with you?

[ clears throat ]
what's going on?

Heart rate just went
out of control.

Remember, I said
this happened here earlier.

Yeah.

Ooh.

This is where I started
getting a little bit of anxiety

and something was coming at,

and I feel that it was
one of the darker energies.

I didn't feel like it was
the son or anything like that.

I felt it was something
totally different.

And that's when it amped and we
started getting all this stuff.

Well, we got this.

Zak: Michael, I know
you know what this is.

You've seen us use it
on our show before.

Remember?

[ tap ]

what was that?

That was pretty loud, dude.
What was that?

It was right over here
on the table.

Zak: All of a sudden,
as I'm addressing michael,

we all hear a loud noise
on this table,

but there's no camera
aiming in that direction

to see if something moves.

I mean, what seems so simple,

maybe, to our viewers
of a loud noise coming

just -- this was right,
12 feet, in front of us.

It's really loud.
Yeah.

I mean, something on that table
was hit or moved.

Zak: Were you trying to move
something on the table?

What was that noise?

Can you do it again?

Oh.

It was loud.

Oh.

Oh, god, my stomach hurts.

Oh.
Billy:
Did you hear that?

Oh. I thought
it was upstairs.

That was weird.

[ exhales deeply ]

is it the same thing
that hit you, zak,
over there, probably?

Oh, yeah, didn't you feel
like you felt sick earlier?

When you first came in?

Felt dizzy, he said.

Oh.

Do you think that michael
would do something like this

to make us feel bad?

I think it's the other spirits,

maybe trying to stop us
from helping him.

Yeah, michael wouldn't be
trying to make you feel bad.

Or we could also
be feeling the pain...

True.
...That michael
is feeling...

That's true.
...And be interpreting
it differently.

It was a tough investigation
because of that.

I mean, just imagine going into
a room with a bad person

and a good person,
and you got ear plugs in,

you've got a blindfold on,
and you're just feeling around.

And then you're near
the really bad killer person,

and you're, like, "oh,
this might be the good person".

You've got to use
your emotions, your abilities,

your sensitivities,
to determine what this is.

Zak: Being inside this house,
you never know

when an energy of emotions
will suddenly debilitate you.

And, as aaron continues
to become emotional...

Oh, god, that was crazy.

Zak: ...I start to feel a sharp
pain in my stomach...

Ow, ow!

...At the same exact time that
an ice-cold air mass hits us.

Billy: Holy [bleep]!
What?

Feel that cold air right here.

Aaron:
Think my camera's freezing.

Michael, is this you here,
walked up on us?

Crazy how we all three
were together.

I'm getting hurt,
the energy goes up.

Next minute, someone else,
energy goes up.

It uses our energy
to actually amp this.

Well, you felt it.
And zak felt it.

The cold air was a
manifestation.
Oh, sure.

It was a spirit in front of us.

It was manifesting, and it was
leaving the air extremely cold.

Zak: We immediately
begin setting up

the live-talking evp device

to see if this is, indeed,
michael or a different spirit.

And, as we are doing this,

the back door unexplainably
opens by itself.

[ indistinct chatter ]

[ door hinges creaking ]

what was --
[bleep].

Guys, guys, guys, the door's
opening by itself back here.

Oh, my god.

Aaron: Guys, this was shut.
Yeah, no, that just opened.

Yeah, we just witnessed
it open up by itself.

Oh, my god, dude.

So, at this point,
the door did open.

We were unable to determine

whether or not, maybe, a little
breeze of wind did that.

But we were able to look
at the curtains

and look at other things
at that time,

to say even the plastic
on the tent there,

to see there wasn't
any strong winds.

I remember there wasn't a storm.
It wasn't windy or anything.

Billy: No.

Second-time poltergeists.
You know what I'm saying?

So, something actually
turned the handle to open it.

It had to.

Zak: Here is an earlier
shot of billy

making sure this door
is completely shut.

Were you able to get anything
on camera from out there?

Jay: Well, this camera, I mean,
you can't see the door,

but I don't think you can
actually see past this thing.

Zak:
Because all of this activity,

I turn on the spirit box,

and, as I do, we receive
this chilling response.

[ oscillating static,
indistinct voice ]

did it say,
"I need your help"?

Aaron: Yeah. It said,
"need your help."

I mean, you've got to remember,
if michael is there, he sees us.

He knows that he's watched our
episodes of "ghost adventures."

he wants to get our attention.

-All: Yeah.
-You know?

It's like someone stalking,
maybe, an earthquake collapse,

and you're just there
for days and days

screaming "help"
and "help" and "help,"

but, finally, you hear a voice
that you recognize.

And the more excited we get,
or the more spooked,

it uses that energy
to do things.

Zak: This is an extremely
emotional response,

and because of that,

it is time for us to invite
michael's mother and sister

into the investigation.

As I begin making
my way up the stairs

to try to capture
michael's voice,

I'm not prepared
for the emotional event

that is about to occur.

Michael, can you see us?

[ oscillating static ]

[ indistinct voice ]

aaron: Whoa!
"say something."

what?

It was michael.

What, karon?
Oh, god, I've got chills.

Mi-- oh! Oh.

Aaron: Bringing them
in here was amazing.

Family recognized the voice
as michael's voice,

and you can see
by the reactions on their faces

that this was a very,
very important moment,

if not the most important moment
in the entire investigation.

It worked. This worked.

zak: In oakdale, california,
we just heard a voice

that sounded like karon's
deceased son, michael.

Aaron: Whoa!

Immediately after this voice,

I feel something grab me
on my rear end,

and I have no idea
that, earlier,

the family asked michael
to do this to me.

Something touched me
back here.

We asked him to do that.
Oh, my god.

What?

When we were outside.

What?

We specifically asked
michael to touch you.

On your butt.

Billy: See, it was like
a happy moment for them

because they got
their validation.

He is there.
He does hear us.

When that happened, I actually,
like, felt a great deal

of satisfaction
that he's there listening.

And then you have
three elements there.

You have us getting
the evidence,

experiencing his spirit
directly -- me.

You have the reaction
from his mother

and his sister
validating it's him.

And then you have michael,
who's there.

That's a triangle of energy

that I believe
has connected to him.

Zak: As I turn
the spirit box back on,

another emotional response
comes through.

Michael, can you
give them a message?

[ indistinct voice ]
"mom."

"mom!" he said, "mom!"
oh!

He said, "mom".

That's what it sounded like.
I heard "mom".

Oh, baby,
you're doing good.

Aaron:
That's right -- "mom".

God, this --
was incredible.

Chills, just an emotional...

Aaron: Oh, hoo.

I think that was him, but, like,
I just want to throw out,

you have to be careful, too,
'cause if it is something dark,

they're gonna try to be
something to comfort you...

Yeah.
...And then trick
the mother into thinking --

but I think this was...
I think it was, too, though.

...Because they heard his voice,
the butt grab was a joke.

And "mom" -- it all tied in.

I think in this case,
though, we're all like,

"oh, we've got to the careful.
It could be this".

I think at this point,
love is stronger than...

Yeah.
I agree.

Zak: It is now time to invite
world-renowned psychic medium

and our good friend,
chris fleming,

into the investigation
to try to help the family

as well as the spirit
of michael.

It's like I can't sit still.

Zak: Yeah, there's a lot
of high anxiety in there.

It just hits you.
Yeah.

By doing this,
it's calming me, you know?

By playing with my fingers
and my hands.

I like how he shows up now.

We got the little closure
with the son,

but now he's coming in
to explain

what else is in the room...
More details.

...And then we go in there
and try to get rid of the evil.

You know?
-Yeah.

He's just right on.

So he picks up on
a man and a woman,

and he has no idea that
her fiancé committed suicide

and that her grandmother
committed suicide.

He just called out both of them.

Right.
If it's who he was sensing.

Zak:
This is chris fleming.

Hi, chris. I'm karon.

Karon, nice to meet you.
Mom.

You okay?

[ exhales ]

there's a lot of sorry,
"I am sorry" coming through.

I'll show you.

Okay. I'm ready.

I want to see.

It was a powerful moment.

You can just see
the relief that she has.

He says, "I'll prove
to you that I'm okay".

Okay.

He's also saying, "I thought
about it for a while".

Zak: He thought about
what for a while?

Taking his life?

Let me ask you this.
Who's the man?

There was a man just -- is there
someone else who passed away?

Did his father pass away?

Did someone pass away
that is male?

'cause there's a male
in this house, too.

Yes. Another male
that lived in this house.

Zak: Karon's fiancé,
who lived in this house,

also committed suicide,

but some claim
that he was murdered.

Do you remember right
when chris fleming arrived,

that he said that he was
having visions in the car?

On his way there.
Before he had
any information.

Chris says that a lot.

He has a good connection
with kind of foreseeing

or having things come to him

even before he gets
to the place.

We all begin hearing noises or
footsteps coming from upstairs.

it sounds like footsteps.

Aaron: It's hardwood floor,
it'd be the bathroom

because it was all carpet,
you know what I'm saying?

It was carpeted hallway.

That is a good point.

You do hear a hard surface,

and the only hard surface
up there is the bathroom.

Zak: Karon and I think that
it's a good idea at this point

for chris to read
her son's suicide letter

so he can connect with the
energy that's infused within it.

It really hit him.
Billy: Yeah.

Him reading this letter really,
really got to chris.

zak: Michael, someone is here

that can see you
a lot better than we can.

He read your letter
just like I did.

I'm gonna bring him
towards your room.

[ exhales sharply ]

he just came out of the wall
right behind you,

in between you and I,
and he went back in.

Aaron: This is where chris
started sensing the boy,

the son, right?

Coming out of the wall,

in the same spot
where the family told us

that that's always
where michael would stand.

Yeah, he didn't know
any of that coming into it.

He didn't know anything!
Any details.

Zero.
He didn't know anything.

That's what we do.
We don't tell them anything.

No! That's why
we bring them in.

It makes it amazing
every time.

Billy: And that's where michael
would always stand,

at the top of the stairs,
right there.

Chris says that he sees his
spirit coming out of the wall.

Remember that because, later,
when I have the sls camera,

I document something to give him
a lot of credence to that.

That's right.

Zak: As chris is standing
in the exact spot

where michael took his own life
just over a month ago,

he begins to channel
michael's final thoughts

before he pulled the trigger.

He was shaking before,
contemplating thinking about it,

something he's thought of,

but now he's in that moment
where he's making a decision.

And he's saying,
"forgive me, forgive me.

I don't know
who I am anymore."

and he keeps thinking
of this weight,

this thing that he's dealt with,
that he can't get past it.

But then he's saying,
"forgive me,"

because he knows,
"I'm not a bad kid.

This isn't me.

I want to know
who I really am,

and I'm not this, so I don't
want this anymore."

and then he says, "forgive me".

It's like he's talking
to someone else.

Like he's talking to god,
or who he's talking to,

he's saying, "forgive me."

that's got to be
hard to do.

This was hard for me,
being in there.

Like, and just for chris
to open himself up to that,

for the family
to hear those words.

Right.

"she's helping me
bring peace to myself,

to know that I am more
than just this.

This was just
an experience for me."

it's as if she's reminding
and telling him

that you must let go of this,
and you must elevate

so you won't be trapped here.

Poor guy.

Michael, I hope
we helped you there, buddy.

Oh, I'm sure we did.

That was the man.

Zak: Chris now begins to detect
a darker male presence.

Could this be karon's fiancé
that chris detected earlier?

There's a man
in this house, too.

Yes. Another male
that lived in this house.

Male's not good.
Male wants him to stay here.

So, this began to be
very clear for chris,

and you can see without
hesitation he's picking this up.

And that's probably the
malevolent/big poltergeist

sometimes, you know.

Like, "get out of my house,"
pushing stuff.

He's the one making the
negativity happen, for sure.

Zak: As chris tries
to get a clear image

of this darker male spirit,
he heads into michael's bedroom,

at which time
I begin documenting

a large figure behind him.

zak: There's somebody
in the closet.

Chris: Yeah.

There's somebody standing
right next to you in the closet.

They small or large?

It's a large figure.

He knows who I am.

Zak: What's interesting is that
we are looking at this figure,

and at first we're like,

"is it possibly matrixing
something in the background".

But the reason why we decided

that this was an interesting
piece of evidence

is that it lifted its arm up

in a gesture almost
towards chris.

That, to me,
was really interesting.

Yeah.

Something's
coming up my legs.

My legs are feeling --

it's making itself known.
Sit over here. Come over here.

Hey, zak?
Zak, come on in here.

Huh?

I want you to come forward.
I sense you.

If something comes through,
allow it to come through.

Okay, I'm gonna
communicate with it.

Who is this?

Thank god he's here to help them
and the family at the same time

because, if he didn't come,

maybe we wouldn't have got
that closure for him.

Yeah, I think his abilities
helped us reach the depth

that we wanted to reach
with the communication.

Sometimes, it seems like it's
directed on who you should call,

what person to bring in.
Oh, yeah.

You know, maybe you're
guided to do that,

that chris was
the right fit for that.

Oh, he was the perfect fit.

Zak: As chris takes karon
and her daughter

outside and continues
to assist them,

I begin capturing another figure
in the exact same spot

where chris saw michael's spirit
come out of the wall earlier.

And it is now that I remember
the family told me

this was michael's
favorite spot to stand.

He would talk to the family

from right in the middle of
that hallway, looking down.

With chris, billy, dakota,
and the family out front,

jay and myself
at nerve center,

and aaron, seen here, entering
the downstairs bathroom,

watch very closely
what happens to this front door

that's been open
for over 15 minutes.

Zak: Here's the biggest piece
of evidence of the night.

Look at that.
Aaron goes into the bathroom.

That door that's been open
for 15 minutes shuts by itself.

There's no wind at all.

If there was wind outside, it
would have pushed the door open.

Right, it would have
come in.
Not shut it.

Well, and it's happened
twice in there.

This is twice now.

Yeah, this is twice.
Two different doors, no wind.

Zak: Did somebody just come up,
open, and close this door?

No. No, we've been out
front this entire time,

for at least five
or 10 minutes.

That door just opened
and closed,

we just saw it
at nerve center.

Oh!

None of you guys
came in up here?

No, we've all been
right here.

That is very common here.

Zak: Could this be
the aggressive male spirit

telling us to stay
out of the house?

The last little bit...
Billy: Final push.

...Shut with force.

It's going slow,
it's going slow, and then slam.

Then, get out.
Like it picks up speed.

That door slammed at the end.
That was intent.

It got the door going,
and then it was -- urgh!

Yeah.

Who was outside, that they were
shutting the door on?

Chris.

Was it the dark male spirit
that chris just picked up on?

Zak: As we go back inside
to investigate the door,

we hear something upstairs.

What?

Aaron: What was that?

[ clicking ]

that was upstairs.

Billy:
There's nobody up there.

Zak: As we head up there
to investigate,

aaron and billy are both hit
by a negative force of energy

that topples them over
like dominoes.

Should we try
spirit sweep?
Billy: Dude.

[bleep].

Aaron: Holy [bleep]!

I feel like my hand's
in a vice right now.

If that dark spirit
did shut the door on us,

then it moves up the stairs
and affects you and drops you.

Aaron and me --
the both of us.

You said, "what's wrong
with you guys?"

that's an interesting
chain of events

that I never really
picked up on before.

Now you know why this show
is so important for us to do.

zak: At this oakdale,
california, residence,

billy and aaron are
overwhelmed by a dark energy.

Zak: Bill?
Billy: Hold on.

I'm about to pass out, man.
I'm not kidding.

Aaron:
I couldn't get up.

I've learned, when that happens

We now decide to bring
the spirit sweep device

inside the house,
and prepare yourselves at home

because we are about to receive
some incredible responses.

Billy, talk to us about

This blew me away.
Billy: This was incredible.

We're using the
spirit sweep device.

And chris, too --
chris couldn't believe it.

Zak: Who's here?

[ indistinct voice ]

"he heard me."

we hear you.

He's telling us
"it hurts when it --"

the last word, we can't
make out. Can you?

They're full sentences
that comes with this device.

And it just sounds like
in an echo.

It's almost like you're
making a direct connection

into the spirit world,

and they're sending
full sentences to you.

But was that michael?
"it hurts when I..."

somebody in pain,
we know that.

Listen to that.

Crystal clear.
Yeah.

-Aaron: The same voice.
-Same voice.

Zak: Now this spirit comes
through and says, "one time."

we hear you.

As I ask who we are talking to,

we receive this
incredible response.

I'm human.

So, is michael using
the electromagnetic spectrum

within this device
to now talk freely?

Can I say this, that device
was set exactly on the floor

where we recovered the bullet.

Right.
I don't know
if you realize that.

Zak:
Billy moves the spirit sweep
to the top of the stairs

where he claims he felt
something squeezing his throat.

Does the the man
want to cross over?

[ indistinct voice ]

"the dimensions will be
respected." did you hear that?

"the dimensions

Zak:
What do you make of that?

"dimensions disrespected."

wow!
Seven syllables
in the same voice.

What do you make of that?

maybe they don't like the fact

that we're trying
to tune into their world.

We're disrespecting
the dimensions.

"stay in your lane."
that's a good point.

And the aggressive one
definitely wants us gone.

What was your
fiancé's name?

Dylan.

Was he mean?
Did he have a temper?

He had a temper,
but he also had a big heart.

Okay.
When he was in this house,

did he have any bouts
of unexplained rage?

Yeah.

Zak: For no reason whatsoever,
as we are all downstairs

and closing out
this investigation,

I lunge at aaron's camera

and literally throw it
to the ground.

Aaron: Oh, god.

Zak: Are you okay?

You getting angry?
Hmm?

Are you getting angry?
Yeah, I did for a minute.

I know.
I can feel it, man.

This is the first bit
of rage that I got.

And it was weird, and he knew
that it jumped in me,

and I went over there and
literally grabbed aaron's camera

and slammed it
to the ground.

Aaron: It's probably the
darkest energy there's

desperate way to get
everybody out, thinking,

"oh, he's gonna flip out, and
just everyone's gonna leave."

I know you enough
to know your energy.

I'm just gonna stand
over here.

Billy: He's fired up.

Yeah.
Zak: Yeah,
I can feel it, too.

as we depart with a cleansing
to the spirits here...

These prayers
are for you.

...We won't ever forget the pain
that will last forever.

Billy: I hope that we brought
closure and helped this family,

and to michael so that
he was able to cross over...

Aaron: I think we did.
...And go
to where he needs to

and not be stuck.

And all family need that.
You need to stay positive.

We did what we could.

Emotionally,
it took a lot out of us.

Going in there,
and doing what we do

and trying to
communicate with it,

and trying to combat it,

that's putting us
on the front line

for something that's extremely
dangerous, as well.

So our tears turned
to caution in the end,

and I hope they're doing well.
