Who Are You?

Episode 12

Team Leader Yang, take Geon Woo and leave.

Sunbae!

Wait.

Do you want to die?

What are you doing?

Cha Geon Woo, hurry and leave!

Hurry and get out!

Cha Geon Woo, wait until backup gets here.

Then Moon Shik Sunbae will die.

Hey!

What about the boat? Why didn't you get on?

Because of your misplaced conscience, you're going to ruin your life?

It's not misplaced conscience.

It's the basic conscience a human should have.

Something a guy like you could never understand.

Sunbae!

Sunbae...

Sunbae, are you okay?

Are you alright?

There are no tears.

Get rid of them!

Don't move!

Why did you come back?

You'll just get tired so don't talk.

Sweep them all away!

Don't move!

Run!

Wake up! Sunbae!

Just hold on.

Sunbae!

Sunbae, sunbae!

Sunbae. Sunbae!

Sunbae!

Are you ok?

Sunbae, are you alright?

G-Geon Woo.

Yes, Sunbae?

I-I'm sorry.

Sunbae!

Sunbae!

Sunbae, please open your eyes!

Sunbae...

Geon Woo, I'm sorry.

Team Leader Yang, I'm sorry.

You're here?

What's up with your face?

Let's go eat something.

Take this.

It's Team Leader Choi's wallet.

That day he took this out in the ambulance,

any way I look at it,

I think he was trying to give it to you.

Endure it, Cha Geon Woo!

What should I endure? I won't do it!

If you're not going to endure it, what're you going to do?

What're you talking about? I have to go have some choice words with the Chief Investigator.

Are you crazy?

Do you really want to give up being a policeman?!

This brat, you even stole my gun.

Hey brat, it's okay.

Hey, brat, is the Special Investigative Squad in America?

It's in the same building, you brat.

There'll be no one who is as indifferent as you on your birthday.

Get up!

Hey!

Come on!

I've got it, I'm going!

Wall of Tribute

Police Inspector Lee Hyeong Joon (Born 09.11.1980) Police Homicide

7.22.2007 during a Silver bullion smuggling case due to police corruption was struck by a bullet on scene and was lost.

Now you've finally found your rightful place.

Eun Joo Eonnie,

she would really have liked it.

It's because I'm happy.

I'm really happy.

Detective Cha still hasn't come back to work?

Yes.

He was someone that he believed in and followed. His heartbreak must be big.

You should help to comfort him.

I understand.

What's happening with Choi Moon Shik's murder suspect?

The team has been deployed and are investigating.

Anyhow, the perpetrator of the smuggling case 6 years ago,

was discovered to have been Choi Moon Shik.

This case will now be completed by the Chief Inspector.

So, you don't have to worry about it anymore.

But Chief... - This is the last warning.

If you proceed against my orders and it becomes dangerous,

then even I will be forced to take formal measures.

(subordinates saluting)

Team Leader, It's already been one week.

Should we try going to his house to look for Detectice Cha?

Leave him.

Your party cannot be reached...

Team Leader Yang, take Geon Woo and leave.

Sunbae!

Geon Woo, hurry and get out!

I-I'm sorry.

Now,

A chance to forgive Sunbae,

there seems to be none.

Cha Geon Woo, I know you're in there.

Until when are you going to be like this?

Those guys who did that to Team Leader Choi,

you're just going to sit still and let them get away with it?

I'm going.

Yes, this is Yang Si On.

Yes.

Choi moon shik team leader's cel-phone conversation list?

By fax.

Yes, thank you.

The item that came in yesterday is missing.

Oh, really?

Then we should go. Should we go to the storage?

Yes.

Team leader, we'll be back shortly.

Okay.

Choi Moon Shik, now dead, was the main culprit in the illegal silver trade that occurred at Incheon Port 6 years ago.

When Detective Lee Hyeong Joon witnessed the event during an undercover operation... - Bang!

And you're saying that Team Leader Yang Si On uncovered all of this?

Yes.

This means that Team Leader Yang Si On... - Will get a promotion!

Right?

Team Manager,

how about we go and say our congratulations?

Let's do that.

Allegiance! - Allegiance!

Is Team Leader Yang in her office?

No, she's not.

There's no one there.

I saw her come in a while ago.

She received a call from the Director and left.

The Director?

Yes... It seemed like it would take a while.

Allegiance! - Allegiance!

The day he went fishing...

This is a phone number within the police department.

This is Cha Geon Woo's number.

This is my number.

Where is this number from?

Hello? Excuse me, but the person who answered this call-

Pawn shop?

This person... do you really not know him?

I'm not sure.

I'm telling you to bring the receipt.

I told you I'm a police officer.

Bring the receipt.

Are you really going to be like this?

I've been doing business here for 40 years! 40 years!

If I carelessly gave people whatever they asked for,

do you think I would still be in business?

Please, sir.

Go and bring the receipt.

Is this it?

Leaving irresponsibly?

This isn't what I wanted.

I wanted Sunbae to...

live... and pay for what you did, and ask for forgiveness.

I wanted you to start over.

Oppa's colleagues from the Police Academy made this trophy of appreciation.

The medal of honor will be presented by the Police Department sometime next week.

Thanks, Si On.

Si On...

Yes, Unnie?

Stop coming here.

Unnie...

You need to go your way now.

I'm sure Hyeong Joon will want that also.

Unnie, I'm not ready-

Hyeong Joon will now be able to rest in peace.

Your face looks terrible.

I heard about everything from Seong Chan. The detective who made you into ghost...

is dead, right?

Then...

It's time for you to leave.

No.

Until Si On is safe,

I can't leave.

Oppa, stop.

Why is a dead person lingering around a living person?

Problems between living people need to be solved by living people.

I know but...

But...

are you saying that you can't possibly go, while leaving your lover behind?

Oppa.

Listen to me,

Oppa, the more you don't let go and keep lingering on,

it will become harder for that Unnie.

That Unnie's future, her life...

you need to think of that.

Okay?

My legs hurt.

We didn't walk much! How could your legs be hurting? How do you catch criminals, then?

I said I will take you home by car.

You said you were tired of cars, after last night's undercover operation.

Then, you could drive the car instead.

I want to avoid...

driving, if I can.

Do you still think about your parents?

Occasionally.

If it weren't for that accident...

Oppa, my dad would have harassed you!

My dad used to say that he wasn't going to hand me over to anyone.

That's not true.

He adored me ever since I was a child!

That was when you were just a "neighborhood oppa."

Who says that I was just a "neighborhood oppa" back then?

What are you saying?

Si On.

Yes?

I'll always be staying by your side.

From now on and forever,

I'll be your driver,

I'll be your caretaker,

and I'll be your lover.

You promised! You can't take it back!

Okay.

Slave contract.

Should I take back what I said?

♫ At first I didn't know, like a child

♫ Little by little, I got lost in my memories

♫ You, who filled my eyes ♫ You, who stained my heart

♫ I start missing you again

♫ Because my love keeps growing

♫ Because it keeps growing like a fingernail

You're going to stay by my side, forever, right?

♫ It hurts more, day after day.

♫ Even if I try to erase you, you are my love

Cha Geon Woo.

You are still up.

It's really Cha Geon Woo.

Like you said, it's not over yet, Team Leader.

Those who did that to Sunbae Moon Shik,

we need to catch them.

Let's go in. I need to show you something.

You found...

this by yourself all this while?

There are some things that we found together.

Wasn't it tough for you?

This is... Sunbae's itemized phone call history?

Yes.

Pawnshop.

Why?

Was there something in Team Leader Choi's wallet?

A receipt from the pawnshop.

A receipt?

That's why he tried to give us the wallet.

First, let's start from the pawnshop.

Ah, he redeemed this already.

What, you said we need the slip to redeem a pawned item.

Ah.

I heard the person who left the item died.

Someone brought a written confirmation of death.

He brought that and paid the cost.

What reason would I have not to give it to him?

By the way, why does everyone try to find the broken cell phone?

Broken cell phone?

Yeah.

The screen was all shattered.

Who? When did that person redeem it?

Oh, just now. The one wearing the hoodie.

Hey, police woman!

Ah, well.

This. I didn't have a chance to give this to him

since he was in such a hurry.

This is also something that person had us hold.

Mr. Choi Moon Shik did?

What is this key?

I don't know.

He told me to give this with the cell phone

to the person who brings the pawnshop slip.

Thank you.

Hey! You stop there!

Smartphone!

We meet again.

This is our third time, right?

Get them.

Wait.

Um?

You want to deal with me?

What should I do?

Should I do it or not?

I don't think I should.

Hey. Get them!!!!

Wait, wait!

I'm sorry. - I'm sorry!

What are you guys doing?!

I brought this.

Are you crazy, Detective Cha?

How could you give them the cell phone like that when all the evidence is in there?

Don't worry. They only took the shell.

What?

Here.

Ah, gee.

Hey.

What are you doing?

Hey. Cha Geon Woo. How did you find this place?

Ah, no, no, no that... Why did you come here again?!

We should do what we've been doing.

In the time I haven't seen this it's gotten worse.

You can't recover the data?

After the theft earlier, I changed all of my equipment.

All brand new.

Shall we start?

It's ok, it's ok,

Hey, you scared me!

Even if you two stare at this,

it's not going to be done in a few hours.

Hey, you leave.

Come back tomorrow.

Can I really leave?

Considering what happened last time, it's little...

If you are so worried, you should've not brought this to me.

Ah, hey, that's not it.

You know how important this is? (meaning they need him)

Okay. I will protect it with my life, so

leave.

We're leaving. O-Okay?

Uh, that leech-like punk.

Ah, my legs... I'm dying...

We haven't walked for that long. Why the fuss?

That's why you can't run better than a criminal.

What, do you know how many stairs I've ran back and forth?

Of course I don't know. How would I know?

You are too much. Too much.

By the way, why don't you drive?

You're smart so you wouldn't have failed the written test.

You are weak at road testing!

I can drive.

It's just I don't do it if possible.

Why?

I told you my parents died in a car accident.

On my middle school graduation day.

At first, I couldn't even get in a car but Hyeong Joon Op-

Because of Detective Hyeong Joon, I learned how to drive.

I thought it will get better over time but

I still don't feel easy

sitting in front of the steering wheel.

See. How wonderful it is to walk.

It's good for exercise and we are not polluting the environment...

Sure.

What if you can't drive?

So, let's take my car.

From now on,

I will be your driver.

How can you be so sure about things?

Don't be so sure.

Who's being so sure?

I'm a person that takes responsibility for what he says.

So from now on,

I will be your driver.

I'm going in.

Take care.

Gosh...

Oh! Detective Cha!

Why are you only here now! - We were worried!

Hey, hey, let go, you guys!

What is going on? This situation looks weird!

Seong Chan and Seung Ha, the lost and find items have arrived. Go and get it.

Ah, yes. We'll be going.

Go!

Oh, right!

Detective Cha.

Have you seen this key before?

No. What is that?

Never mind.

Oh yeh, I'm going to check on the work progress. Do you want to go with me?

Okay.

Hey, hey, hey!

Are things going okay?

Did you find anything?

Ah...

It's not 100% recoverable. It got abused and broken.

But... I think I recovered 2/3 of it.

Then, let's look at it first.

If you're ready, let's take a look.

Here...

If I convert these numerical codes...

into Hanja (Chinese characters)...

They is a new code-breaker software that I developed.

If I put in a simple command,

it decodes into Hangul (Korean alphabet). Park Il Doo, KR02CF16

Park Il Doo? Park Il Doo?

Park Il Doo. Can we do a search on him?

This guy is good at that.

What? Let's try finding someone.

Park Il Doo.

This is the last time.

What?

This person is also a former police officer?

Get his phone number and get the list of calls he made.

Find out if there are any more people on that list that have ties to the police.

Hurry!

You should pay me before making me do all this.

Aiiish, my game's over.

Why did that happen?

Yes? It's me.

What?

That can't be-

I'm sorry.

Yes.

I understand.

Oppa.

Where are you?

So...

Have you thought about it?

I can't leave yet.

Oppa, why are you so selfish?

Si On is in danger.

What?

What do you mean she's in danger?

I have a favor to ask.

A favor?

No, no!

If I do that, Oppa, your soul will also disappear.

I don't care

as long as I can protect Si On.

Okay! It's done!

Did something come up?

The last step has finally been solved.

A minute from now, all will be coming up.

That's good.

Why is she not picking up?

Why are you picking up so late? Everything has been recovered, so come quickly!

Team Leader.

Team Leader! Detective Cha Geon Woo?

Who are you?

You don't know who I am?

Where is Team Leader Yang?

Yes.

We have her with us.

Where are you? I'm going to say this loud and clear...

If you even touch her,

I won't stay put.

I'll tell you what I want.

Bring the SIM card that you guys took.

Then,

we will hand Yang Si On over.

Don't even think about making a copy of it.

When we get it, we'll check the records to ensure that the data wasn't copied...

before we let Yang Si On go.

This place is...

Good, I get it.

But let me just tell you this again.

Hey what's going on?

Ah, it's all done.

Wait.

Why?

Go to the previous page.

Yes.

I did as you told me to.

When we get the SIM card,

What should I do with Yang Si On?

Get rid of them.

The two of them.

~Preview ~ Subtitles brought to you by The "BOO!" Team @ Viki

What's with your face?

Let's go eat something.

Where are you?

Team Leader.

I clearly told you that if you ever hurt Yang Si On, I won't stay put.
