Who Are You?

Episode 9

Why is it so hot today?

It's on the way there anyways.

If I think about this nation's environment and economy,

for sure, carpool is the most . . .

Detective Cha Geon Woo is not here yet?

He went out.

Ok.

What?

Earlier Detective Cha Geon Woo asked the same question.

Did these come in today?

Yes.

Have you sorted them out?

I should start now.

Hey, this is not a lost item but

it's almost like a garbage.

Hey.

What?

This is all, right? I'll go, work hard!

I'll leave.

He can't take it yet.

Did I do something wrong?

Was it a little abrupt?

Why suddenly?

Why the provocation?!!

Should I give you a kiss?

Huh?

Until when will you run away?

Who is running away?

Detective Cha Geon Woo?

Yes? What?

Why?

Did something happen yesterday?

Don't think about useless things and work!

Oh, right!

Seong Chan said he wasn't done with sorting this?

I'll leave.

This is what we already finished earlier.

Yes.

Clean it up.

Yes, Sunbae?

I understand.

Yes.

Finish sorting them out.

Yes.

- Ah, we finished it all earlier. . . - Why did he take it then?

- From number 13 . . . - Okay.

Yes?

Did you come here to find a lost item?

Yes, I came to look for a cellphone.

Oh this one is mine!

This one? Yes.

Please show me your I.D. card.

This is mine!

We can only give it to you if you bring your I.D. card.

I don't have my passport, now.

I need the phone to get my passport!

You have to bring your passport...

for me to give you your phone. Do you not understand Korean?

Oh seriously!

You can't do that, here.

I'm sorry.

Go back safely.

Xiè Xiè. ("Thank you" in Chinese)

We can give this to him only if he brings his passport but

he can find his passport

only if he has this phone. . .

What's this irony?

What are you saying!

I mean,

shouldn't the one who wanted to meet buy this?

The one who called you out is me, but

it's your business after all.

What are you talking about?

I have something important to tell you so let's go drink later.

Bring Team Leader Yang with you too. I'm leaving.

We're done.

After I put this in the storage, we're done.

Since we're tired today, let's just do it tomorrow.

I could just go by myself.

Let's do it tomorrow.

It'll be quick.

Ay!

Are you defying me?

Today's task stops here.

Let's do the rest tomorrow.

Ok.

Put it aside.

Leave it on my desk.

Hey. This too.

Geon Woo.

Yes?

Get ready to be restored to your position.

What?

Why are you so shocked?

I'm saying get ready to come back to crime squad.

There will be an official announcement of your appointment soon.

I'm not, yet,

done with the disciplinary punishment.

I went to see the chief and asked him a favor.

That he's abandoned a young man with a bright future like you at the Lost-and-Found Center for too long.

I have no one else to turn to . . .

What? You don't like it?

You wanted to get restored so much . . .

No I like it.

I like it. How could I not?

Le-Let's have a drink.

Why is Team Leader Yang taking so long to come? I have to get going.

Ah, well, she's running little late due to the team leaders' meeting. She texted me just now that she's on her way.

I need to go.

Finish drinking.

Are you leaving?

Sorry.

Where is Team Leader Choi?

He left.

Why are you so late?

The meeting went a lot longer than I expected.

You said Team Leader Choi had something important to say.

What was it?

To come back to crime squad

That's good then.

Isn't that what you wanted?

That's right...

I should congratulate you.

Cheers.

Cheers.

But..

Even if I go,

You think you can do well?

Don't worry about me.

And try your best there.

Let's go.

It's raining.

No.

What?

Are you okay?

There is something.

What is it?

Is it the dead people?

No.

What is it?

It hasn't been long since he died.

He's still somewhat warm.

Ah.

Ah.

Yes it's Yang Si On.

What?

What are you talking about?

What happened?

Yesterday's cellphones all disappeared?

The whole basket...

Why didn't you place it in the storage?

I'm sorry.

Sorting out, listing, and placing in the storage,

I told you it's your job.

What about the CCTV?

What is all this commotion?

I heard an accident happened at the Lost and Found center.

Team Leader how could you let this happen.

I'm sorry, I'm looking into it right now.

How could a place that STORES lost items LOSE an item?

I will report it to the detective division and request for an official investigation.

Uh.

Uh... Everyone leave except for Team Leader Yang.

Listen carefully to what I tell you next.

Do not report about this case.

What?

What would happen

people find out that there was a theft inside the police administration, especially in the Lost and Found center?

But still Chief...

Find the stolen item as soon as possible,

as quietly as possible,

QUIETLY

take care of it.

Oh it's him!

"Ironic man".

The other day he came looking for his smart phone.

Smart phone?

One that was completely broken.

Check where the shattered smart phone came from and

Detective Cha, capture this person's face and

sent it to Team Leader Choi.

I understand.

Do you remember anything special about him?

He had the accent of

Korean Chinese.

Is it this guy?

Yeah

Can you look into it for me please sunbae?

How "brave" could he be that he broke into the police department?

I know eh?

Ah, I have to go.

I'm relying on you.

Work hard.

Hello?

I'll take care of it myself.

Yes I understand.

Love can't be achieved with just heart.

You would have to express your feelings in order to achieve it.

Because I rejected once,

He hasn't called

or come to see me.

That's okay. You have pride.

You're the awesome Jang Hee Bin.

Oh my god you scared me.

Announce your presence when you arrive!

Why again?

You have to go to the police station.

Police Station?

Why?

Lost and Found Center?

Just believe in me.

Lying, denying...

I'm an expert at those.

Oppa.

How do I look?

Is it okay?

Follow me.

Hello.

Have you ever seen this person before?

This is the first time.

Thank you.

Hello. Hello.

Have you ever seen this person before?

I don't know.

Yes. Thank you.

Have you by any chance seen this man before?

Not sure. It's like I've seen him before,

but then again not really.

I'm not sure

Excuse me, aren't you Hee Bin?

Do you know me?

Oh that day at the club?

Hello.

Yes. Hold on.

Come in.

Lim Seung Chan, you have a visitor.

Who?

Have a good time!

What brings you here?

Have you been well?

Yeah kinda..

Did the blind date go well?

Why are you interested in that?

When you said you didn't care about me.

Oh...

Where is Si On unni?

Your timing today is no good.

Why?

A thief came into the Lost and Found centre.

Huh?

In a police station?

A thief came in?

Oh, my.

Oh so that's why it's so quiet.

Unni isn't here.

Detective Cha Geon Woo isn't here either.

Yeh... that's right...

Where will they catch that guy?

It's not like he's the only Korean-Chinese.

I know someone in Chinatown.

I have a regular customer in Chinatown.

Really?

Yep.

Uh, huh.

What?

Go there and say,

How?

"I hear that in July and August, abalones are good."

What?

"I hear that in July and August, abalones are good."

What the...

Alright, send me the address.

I'm sorry.

Our lunch hours are over, and dinner starts at 5pm.

Ah, that..

"I hear that in July and August, abalones are good."

Excuse me?

"I hear that in July and August, abalones are good."

In July and August...!!

Come this way.

Lee Young Gul.

Yes?

This guy, Young Gul... he worked at our store.

He quit last week.

He left, saying he and his friend were going to do business at their hometown.

Friend?

Lee Young Gul, this friend. Where is he right now?

This man was at a murder scene.

He needs help right now.

Will you take full responsibility?

Yes.

I don't need anything.

Please, send Young Gul home safely.

First, we need to find our stolen item.

Young Gul... where is he?

He said he was going to stay here until he left.

You should go there.

Thank you.

Detective Lee Hyeong Joon.

Where is he?

Do you know...

Detective Lee Hyeong Joon?

Don't come here again.

Mr. Wang...

I wonder how that man knows Detective Lee Hyeong Joon.

I know.

Plus, he asked us...

where he was.

Wherever we go, we hear about Detective Lee Hyeong Joon.

He's here.

He went in.

Lee Young Gul, we're police!

Don't let him go.

Let go you crazy man

You're the one that's crazy.

Did you really have nowhere to break into,

You even come to the police?!

That belonged to me in the first place!

That belonged to me in the first place.

Stop moving.

That belonged to me in the first place.

Stop moving.

That belonged to me in the first place.

That belonged to me in the first place.

Your employer, the President of the trade company... you know he's a smuggler, right?

Yes.

This is the President's cell phone and

there are business accounts, contacts, and everything in here.

What are you planning to do?

Young Gul, it's just going to be once.

Let's just do this once,

and run back home without looking back.

I don't want to.

Have you thought about your family?

You don't want to go back to your hometown?

Young Gul!

Show me the money first.

Yang Beom. Yang Beom!!

Get them!

Are you okay?

If we stay together, we both will get caught.

Let's split up.

Will you be okay?

Let's meet again.

Go quickly.

In here...

Our construction smuggling account, smuggling journal,

contacts in Korea,

and people looking after us, the Korean officials.

Officials?

Police?

Korean police also helps us.

What is the name of the company that your friend is working at?

We don't know the name of the company.

Since about 6 years ago, a ship called "Cheong Do"...

He was on the commerce ship.

Cheong Do Ho (ship)?

Sunbaenim, the "Cheong Do" ship that came in this morning...

there's someone on the ship sending signals with a lamp.

What are you talking about?

I think I need to go and check it out in person.

We're at the end of our shift. Why are you making more work for us?

What's in there?

The date the deal took place, deposit amount, the list of our members... it's all in there.

Do whatever it takes to find it!

Do whatever it takes!

Things won't happen your way.

I am...

going to expose it all.

I think it's damaged.

We need to restore the data somehow.

There is a list of Chinese smugglers and dirty Korean cops in here.

Hey, you!

Detective Cha!

Go! Go and request backup!

Stop right there!

Don't you dare try to escape!

You $#!

It's the police! Run!

Are you okay, detective Cha?

Does this look okay to you!?

Seeing how you talk, you look okay.

No, I'm not okay.

Why are you smiling?

Ah, because I feel sorry... - Are you two okay?

Go look over there.

Why did you come so late?

Hey,

I got here within 5 minutes of taking your call.

Team leader Yang, are you okay?

Yes. What happened to those guys?

They ran off, but we caught a few of their low-level members.

Detective Cha! The cell phone...

It's a relief.

This is like Pandora's box.

Hmm... I should have given this to Choi sunbae. Tomorrow, through Choi sunbae...

Détective Cha.

I'll take that with me.

Let's look into it first, then if we find something...

then...

let's hand it over to Team Leader Choi.

Since when did the Lost and Found Center become the Special Investigation Squad?

Je sais...

Oh.

Is your official reassignment, next week?

Detective Cha... your return to the Special Investigation Squad?

We'll see if it is official when I actually get there.

Try to do well.

Detective Cha, it was what you wanted.

Yeh, it was...

but I'm not done with my probation yet...

and I haven't closed the case on the missing item.

And... I need to properly train Seong Chan and Seong Ha.

That's enough. No one is going to keep you from leaving.

Who said people weren't letting me go?

I'm just saying that the Lost and Found Center can't operate without me.

Pssh. I'm going.

What is he saying?

Why are there so many things I'm concerned about?

Hmm... I hear that abalones are good in July and August.

Lim Seong Chan,

Yes? - How do you know Mr. Wang in Chinatown?

Actually, Hee Bin told me he's a regular customer.

What the...

"I hear that abalones are good in July and August." What does this mean?

It's a passphrase.

She said it's a passphrase used when contacting customers.

Since it's a private consultation.

Where's Team Leader?

She said she's going home early today.

Yang Si On!

Sunbae!

Wow, how long has it been?

Has it been 8 years?

You haven't kept in touch!

You need to let me off the hook for the six years out of eight.

It's good to see you.

Lee Hyeong Joon sunbae?

Yes.

Why are you asking about Hyeong Joon sunbae?

Just...

I think I've seen him a few times,

but I don't really remember.

I guess you've seen him a few times at school events...

since he came to visit, even after graduation.

Geon Woo!

You're going to be reassigned next week.

Did you tell Team Leader Yang?

Yes. - Dude! It's not like the Special Investigation Squad is in the USA!

It's in the same building!

I didn't say anything!

Tell me the truth.

About what?

What relationship do you have with Team Leader Yang?

What do you mean "relationship"?

We're good coworkers. That's it.

I don't think so...

Please save your suspicions and reasoning for solving cases!

I'm going to go. I'm leaving.

Pssh.

There was a store near school that he was a regular at.

I'm not sure if that store is still there.

He's right. It's not like the Special Investigation Squad is in the USA...

It's in the same building.

I'll go there next time.

Let's go there next time.

Right now, let's stay by Team Leader Yang.

Wow, it's been ages since you've visited.

Is he not here yet?

For real?

How could he...

BOO! Haha, were you surprised?

Why were you so late?

Sorry...

You look pretty nice today,

Officer Yang Si On.

How was your first day at work?

I don't know.

I was so flustered...

I don't know how the day went by, really.

You did well.

Yep, I did well.

I'm going to take a picture!

Okay.

Lee Hyeong Joon...

Oppa!

Oppa!

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry I couldn't remember you.

I'm sorry, Oppa.

You, who filled my eyes...

You, who stained my soul...

I miss you, again.

My love keeps growing...

It keeps growing like a finger nail...

Even if I keep trimming it off, it stays the same.

Where did you go?

I was worried.

I couldn't reach you.

I'm not returning to the Special Investigation Squad.

Because I like being next to you, Team Leader,

I'm not going anywhere!

This wouldn't have happened if you took me back to the Special Investigation Squad sooner!

I wouldn't have met Team Leader Yang.

I...

will expose everything.

Those people who killed you...

I will never forgive them.

I need the data that's in here.

Why are you so interested all of a sudden?

Is it because of Officer Yang Si On?
