Central Protector Lu.

Thanks for your hard work.

But I have an order.

If you can't protect King Peng Cheng

you'll be beheaded!

Your Highness,

I'm utterly innocent

and can be judged by Heaven and Earth.

Someone!

Your Highness,

King Peng Cheng's coffin has returned to the court.

It's reasonable

Your Highness feels sad.

But Central Protector Lu has seriously injured

in order to save King Peng Cheng.

Even if he is futile,

it's not his fault.

Even if he's not rewarded,

forcing him to act in accordance with the order

will chill the teeth of the armies.

Now that we have a foreign enemy,

the matter should be handled according to the authority.

Except for those

facts that it's not true.

Let His Majesty

be buried soon.

That's what matters most.

Our condolences, Your Highness.

Please think twice, Your Highness.

King Peng Cheng's corpse is still warm.

The cause of death is unknown.

How can you be so hasty?

The Song of Glory

Your Highness,

King Peng Cheng's corpse has been here for a long time.

We have to hold a funeral quickly.

Episode 36

If not, I'm afraid there's a plague.

Your Highness, please take charge of the situation.

Make known to the world

and put on mourning.

Your Highness, please take charge of the situation.

Make known to the world...

Don't say it!

If we don't find out what happened,

I will not put on mourning.

Greetings, Aunt.

Yuan, sit down.

Why is he back?

How's your wound?

It's nothing.

It's just that today, King Jing Ling

can't wait to peel off my skin.

If it weren't for this wound,

I'd never

have seen aunt again.

Xuan was just upset.

Don't worry.

Let him calm down.

He'll never come after you again.

You have a serious injury.

You should get some rest.

Chief Secretariat,

King Jing Ling has an edict in front of him.

You're the Chief Secretariat,

this edict

made from you.

It's because of the force of circumstances.

I didn't mean it.

Moreover

I believe you have

a way to get out of this.

Didn't I just

plead for you

in front of everyone?

Isn't that enough

to show my sincerity?

You

just forget about it.

I risked my life to plan in the North.

But King Jing Ling wants to draft an edict

and set me up for death.

And you didn't try to stop it.

You're trying to burn the bridge after crossing it, aren't you?

Don't forget

the death of King Peng Cheng,

we're all in on it.

Central Protector,

since we're both involved,

why would I

set you up?

It's because of

you're a good writer.

Two dogs strive for a bone,

the third runs away with it.

You're overstating it.

I don't think it's a good time to fight among ourselves now.

The top priority is

we should plan for the King Jing Ling.

All right.

Now King Peng Cheng is dead.

As long as we lay plans,

Xuan can take his place.

Well, both of you

will be an important vassal

of Xuan.

Interdependent relationship.

We've got to be bound together for good or ill.

What's with all the arguing?

What a disgrace!

The most important thing

is to announce the death of

King Peng Cheng.

Such a critical time,

two of you don't create a problem.

What Your Highness said is true.

But

King Jing Ling insists on not mourning.

I'm afraid that...

It's a long night.

Yuan,

Xuan insisted on an autopsy.

Can you make sure nothing goes wrong?

We're one step away from being done.

Even if they do,

it doesn't help.

That's good.

You'll have to hurry

with your next move.

Chief Secretariat,

you must unite the ministers as soon as possible and

forced King Jing Ling to

announce the death of King Peng Cheng.

Don't worry.

As long as everything goes according to our plan,

we all

will get what we want.

Is that your handkerchief?

Did we meet at Shen Residence?

You're Shen...

I'm Shen Leqing.

Great Consort,

Xie Hao and Lu Yuan

conspired to set this up.

But what Lu Yuan said just now,

in an equivocal way.

His Highness seems

to have a chance of survival.

I can't just sit here and do nothing.

Even if there's only a glimmer of hope,

I'll give it a try.

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

-Your Highness! -Stop!

Your Highness!

Your Highness, listen to me!

King Peng Cheng won't die.

Please send someone to look for him again.

Your Highness can't trust Lu Yuan's word.

Your Highness!

Yes, his word cannot be trusted.

So as your word.

Concubine Li.

Isn't Concubine Li always

with King Peng Cheng?

If King Peng Cheng is dead,

where is she?

How can there be no news

about her at all?

Your Highness.

I'm begging Your Highness.

Please go and search him again.

I'll think of something.

Ji Shu.

Your Highness! Your Highness!

Your Highness!

King Jing Ling

prince of Great Consort.

She doesn't care if

King Peng Cheng live or die.

It turns out the information that Jian Kang received

are all false.

We're running out of troops and food in the North.

Letter for Chief Secretariat

With things as such,

I have to do something

to save my own skin.

Ren Shou Pavilion

What's wrong with you?

Shen Leqing, what's wrong with you?

I'm sorry.

Please punish me.

You're so clumsy.

Forget it.

Chun Fang.

Let's go.

What are you waiting for?

Quickly go and

wash the clothes.

Memorial Tablet of Li Chengxun

I'm going to play dead

in order to let Lu Yuan guard down.

So he can be convicted of treason

and make sure he never get up again.

Today, the Matou's crisis is over.

I must return to Jian Kang City at once.

Your Highness is wise.

This is the Suiyuan Army's military seal.

In order to keep Lu Yuan in check,

I'm seizing

the military power.

Now it should be

returned to the General.

General Zhenbei,

for The North,

I'll leave it to the General.

Thank you for your trust, Your Highness.

After this battle,

General Wan Jingsheng of the Wei army is dead.

Wei's army has been routed.

As soon as these remnants are removed

one by one,

this battle will be a success.

Good!

Shen Zhi. Shen Feng.

This is a great achievement.

When the war in the North

is over,

I want Shen Zhi to return to Jian Kang City

and take charge of the middle troops.

Henceforth,

the Imperial City and Border Gates of the Song Dynasty

are guarded by you all.

All of you are

my most trustworthy officials.

I will not fail Your Highness.

Your Highness.

The war in the North is coming to an end.

But Jian Kang City is an invisible battlefield.

The undercurrents are surging,

and the situation is becoming more complicated.

Your Highness,

everything goes well on your return.

I will definitely fight this battle.

I'll be waiting for your news

in Jian Kang City.

Your Highness, take care.

Your Highness, take care.

Take care.

Your Highness.

My condolences, Your Highness.

Since all these military reports are false,

then Fourth Brother's death

could be faked.

Lu Yuan is wolfish and ambitious.

What kind of lies can't be made up?

Fourth Brother.

I can't believe you're losing just like that.

Wei army have not yet been driven away.

The new policy has just begun.

You still have so many ambitions.

How did you...

How can you be so reluctant

to give it all up?

It's impossible.

It's impossible.

Open the coffin for an autopsy.

Your Highness.

Well...

That's indecorous behaviour, isn't it?

Seeing is believing.

I want to open the coffin for an autopsy.

Call the coroners and the officials.

Yes.

Don't do that.

Kang!

Kang!

My Kang.

Kang died for the Song Dynasty.

He died a horrible death.

All the more reason for us to

hold an early funeral,

put him to rest.

How can you disturb the souls of the dead?

Let him

can't rest in peace.

Royal Mother.

A public autopsy

is a great disrespect

to your brother's corpse.

Xuan.

How can you bear it?

Royal Mother, I understand.

I get it.

It's just that Royal Mother

don't be too sad.

If Fourth Brother knows you're like this,

he'll be sad, too.

Royal Mother, please go and rest.

I want to be alone

and keep Fourth Brother company.

Xuan,

don't be too sad.

You must take care of yourself.

When your Fourth Brother left,

he entrusted

this palace to you.

All the more reason for you to help him

with his family, politics,

and his internal and external affairs.

Let him go...

Go in peace.

I know.

Leave with Great Consort first.

Yes.

Ji Shu.

Yes, Your Highness.

Send men to the North immediately.

And, investigating the real situation

of Battle of Matou.

I need to know how the battle is going.

And,

I'm afraid Lu Yuan is up to something else.

Send troops of Danyang into Jian Kang City

just in case.

Yes.

Jian Kang City

Let's go.

Next.

Next.

Wait a minute.

Go!

Okay. Go!

Sister.

Feng!

How come it's you?

Was the Battle of Matou won?

Definitely.

My brother-in-law is worried about you.

He asked me and Huo Yun

bring the soldiers to help you.

No, I got the orders.

He'll be here soon.

Where are the warriors of Pangu?

I've got them

set up nearby.

How about Fourth Brother?

King Peng Cheng is already

on his way back to Jian Kang City.

He should be there soon.

What's the situation of Jian Kang City now?

Lu Yuan has entered the city.

At this time,

I'm sure they're assembled

a lot of the former foreign army.

Therefore,

we need to get into the city as soon as possible.

He's guarding the city gates now.

There's too many of us, easier to get attention.

We'll move after dark.

Princess Consort.

King Peng Cheng's coffin has returned.

What did you say?

King Peng Cheng's coffin has returned.

Princess Consort.

Take care of yourself.

Princess Consort.

Princess Consort.

It's impossible.

What's going on?

Speak clearly.

Central Protector Lu sent it back personally.

Where's the coffin?

Cheng Xiu Pavillion.

Princess Consort.

Quickly go to Cheng Xiu Pavillion.

Princess Consort.

Princess Consort.

Step aside!

I'm sorry, Princess Consort.

This is an order from Chief Secretariat.

Chief Secretariat?

This is King Peng Cheng's mansion.

If you dare to stop me,

I'll kill all of you!

Princess Consort!

I'm exhausted.

Qing, pour the tea.

You all can leave now.

Yes.

I'm so tired.

Great Consort, something bad is happening.

Princess Consort wants to go to Cheng Xiu Pavillion.

Her Highness drew her sword on the middle troops.

You may leave first.

Yes.

Chun Fang.

Yes.

Let's go take a look.

You stay here.

Step aside!

Get out of my way, all of you!

Today,

I must go to Cheng Xiu Pavillion.

Do you hear me?

Your Highness, put down the sword first.

Don't hurt yourself.

Step aside!

Your Highness.

Yue Fang.

What are you doing?

Your Highness,

I've received an order.

King Peng Cheng is dead,

for fear of an uprising,

in order to protect the family members,

I hereby,

relieve your guards with my troops.

Please forgive me, Your Highness.

Please put down your sword,

and return to your chamber.

No matter what happens today,

I'm going to Cheng Xiu Pavilion to see King Peng Cheng.

I can't let you do so.

Impudent fool!

Is this protection or imprisonment?

Where's Zhu Rong?

Why isn't Zhu Rong here?

Even though His Highness is gone,

my position in this mansion remains,

I'm the Princess Consort.

Who gave you the order?

It's me.

Royal Mother.

King Peng Cheng died in the battle.

The Princess Consort is sad,

I'm afraid she can't control herself in public.

In the next few days,

you better don't go out.

You may rest in Jiao Hua Pavilion.

Royal Mother,

why can't I see King Peng Cheng,

for one last time?

It's for your own good.

Kang was burnt to death,

he was burnt beyond recognition.

The funeral,

will be handled by Xuan.

You can rest assured.

Yunzhi,

you are an understanding child.

King Peng Cheng is gone.

If anything happens to you,

I,

won't be able to explain to your brother,

and your entire family,

the Xie family.

Are you threatening me with the Xie family?

Don't forget,

my position in this mansion remains,

I'm the Princess Consort.

On the account of

the Chief Secretariat,

I am giving you some wise advice.

Look at you now,

what else could you do?

Watch the Princess Consort.

Yes.

San Jiu Tang

Outside the city,

lying in wait,

are Lu Yuan's black knight.

On the east and west of the city,

I have also surveyed.

Here, here,

are Lu Yuan's troops.

This area,

are the homes of many court officials.

Lu Yuan,

wants to control the officials.

Surrounding the mansion and palace,

are the black knights.

They are always watching.

Sister.

King Peng Cheng,

his waist badge to command the troops,

was given to you.

Why don't we attack tonight?

Go to Lu's mansion,

and arrest Lu Yuan?

Lu Yuan committed a capital crime.

He and his troops,

are prepared to fight.

This is Jian Kang City,

we can't take the risk.

This time,

we must not let him escape.

What is your plan?

Buy us time,

catch them all.

Zhu Rong,

the situation at the mansion,

how's it?

Our troops,

have been changed?

Our middle troops,

are under the control of Yue Fang.

Princess Consort Xie,

was put under house arrest,

by the Royal Mother.

Her Highness is under house arrest?

Yes.

Lu Yuan is prepared to die.

This time,

we won't be careless again.

Lu Yuan has control of the mansion,

and surrounded Jian Kang City.

He has a detailed plan.

We can only

crack them one by one and delay time.

Wait for King Peng Cheng to return with his troops,

to encircle and suppress Lu Yuan.

Xu Zhan,

go take a look.

Yes.

Your Highness,

the landslide ahead,

is man-made.

Looks like Lu Yuan,

although he has my body,

he's still doubting.

Is there any other way?

There is a trail,

the horses can go through.

But the troops,

will be blocked.

Look at the mountain,

it takes at least half a day to go around.

The troops,

need at least three days,

to reach Jian Kang.

No.

In three days,

Jian Kang City will be gone.

Rest assured,

I believe Lige,

will deliver the news.

King Jing Ling will prepare ahead,

it will be fine.

To get reinforcement from Danyang,

needs a few days.

With only the middle troops,

Lige can't fight them.

If the troops can't return in time,

Lige and Sixth Brother,

will be in danger.

Xu Zhan.

Yes.

Select the best soldiers,

follow me to Jian Kang City.

You and the troops to follow suit.

Go according to plan.

Yes, Your Highness.

Let's go.

Follow me.

Fourth Brother,

if that's really you,

I am sorry.

Golden Soft Armour.

Fourth Brother.

No.

Green are the garden sunflowers wet with dew,

awaiting the sun who's to rise anew.

The spring benign is lavishing her favour,

on all things which are glowing in splendour.

Look, Fourth Brother.

Where did you get the sword?

I stole it from the training field.

Put it back,

before Royal Mother and Master Cui found out.

They won't know if you don't tell.

Give me.

No.

No.

Give me.

Are you all right, Fourth Brother?

Kang.

Hide the sword,

be careful mother punishes you.

Kang,

what happened?

Did you do this, Xuan?

No, it's not Sixth Brother.

I cut myself accidentally.

Let me see.

On Fourth Brother's leg,

there's a scar.

But this...

This isn't Fourth Brother.

This is definitely not him.

But the Golden Soft Armour,

it's here.

Lu Yuan.

It must be Lu Yuan.

Who is it?

Concubine Li.

They're here.

This is...

King Jing Ling,

what are you doing?

In front of everyone,

this is disrespectful.

Yes, this is...

I gather all of you here today,

is to inform you,

the body in front of you,

he is not King Peng Cheng.

What? This is....

He's not King Peng Cheng?

Since he was small,

3 inches below his calf,

there's a scar.

Although this body,

was badly burnt,

beyond recognition.

The skin on the leg is intact.

You can see clearly,

there is no scar.

This proves that,

this person is not King Peng Cheng.

This is...

If this corpse isn't King Peng Cheng,

then Lu Yuan...

If this corpse isn't King Peng Cheng,

then King Peng Cheng,

is he dead or alive?

We'll know soon.

Guards, take it away.

I have sent my people to the North,

we'll receive news very soon.

But I believe,

King Peng Cheng is not dead.

The Golden Soft Armour,

is the best proof.

Golden Soft Armour,

was given by His Majesty.

King Peng Cheng treasures it dearly.

If he has a choice,

he'll never leave it.

Someone must have wanted to harm him,

and he used it as a decoy.

The Wei Army,

doesn't recognise it.

So,

the person he wanted to deceive,

is someone from the royal court.

And this person is,

Lu Yuan.

When I got the news just now,

a troop of dark knights,

gathered at Jian Kang City gate.

Lu Yuan must have a plan.

This is treason.

Your Highness,

if Lu Yuan,

has ill intention,

Your Highness,

must be careful.

I wonder,

does Your Highness have a plan?

Of course I...

King Jing Ling, you are smart.

In a few words,

the death of King Peng Cheng,

was pinned on me.

What a good plan.

This man used a fake corpse,

to deceive you.

He has ill intention.

Guards, arrest Lu Yuan.

King Jing Ling,

you think by doing so,

you can arrest me?

How rude?

You.

Well,

you finally show your true identity.

Let me tell you.

King Peng Cheng already knew,

about your plan.

You won't succeed.

What a pity.

No one can save you now.

King Peng Cheng has few soldiers left.

If he makes it back alive,

Jian Kang City,

would have changed hands.

Such empty threats.

I haven't received any report.

King Jing Ling,

you are too naive.

If I intend to rebel,

you wouldn't be getting the real military report.

Fine.

Faking military report,

manipulating the middle troops,

murdered King Peng Cheng, surrounded Jian Kang City.

You have already planned all these.

What do you really want?

What do you think?

To control the middle troops,

having the emperor in my order to command the feudal kings.

Or taking advantage of Jian Kang Palace,

when he's seriously ill,

to install a puppet on the throne?

You and I,

we have no alternatives.

Listen to me,

surrender the foreign military tiger tally.

Don't you dare think about it.

You would rather die?

What a tough guy.

Good,

I would like to see,

how tough you can be?

Bring her.

Release me, what do you want?

Royal Mother.

Let me go.

Are you all right?

Xuan.

Lu Yuan,

how dare you hold Her Highness under duress?

Hold her under duress?

We always share the same objective.

Everything I did,

my aunt always helped me.

You.

From making the black blade in secret,

wedding assassination,

faking military reports to deceive royal court.

Each one of them,

without the planning by aunt,

I was faraway in the North,

how could I have arranged everything,

to be so perfect?

Lu Yuan,

that's a dirty lie!

Xuan,

Xuan,

you mustn't believe him.

Don't listen to his words.

He is doing this,

to instigate

disharmony in our relationship.

Don't ever believe him.

You mustn't believe him.

Do you understand?

One-sided statement?

Your Highness,

didn't you say,

to kill King Peng Cheng?

Lu Yuan.

You!

All these incidents,

has Your Highness forgotten all of them?

Liar!

You!

You...you...

Royal Mother.

Royal Mother isn't such a person.

No?

King Jing Ling,

Her Highness did all these,

was because of you,

Liu Yixuan.

King Peng Cheng was powerful.

However,

he wasn't aunt's biological son.

When King Peng Cheng took over,

from that moment on,

she has been planning,

and worked with me.

No.

No.

She knew,

you didn't want to fight with your brother.

So, she let me carry out,

all the dirty works.

You...

What a pity.

Your plan is perfect,

but you missed the last step.

Enough!

I am going to kill you.

No.

No, no!

Your Highness,

look at him.

King Jing Ling hates me.

If I helped him to ascend the throne,

I am digging my own grave.

You are a crook.

This is a lie,

this is defamation.

Xuan,

you must believe me.

You must believe me.
