โ Cannonball Bay, where 11 elite athletes face off
in the most extreme water park in the world,
all in pursuit of $10,000 in cold, wet cash.
both: Oh, man!
โ [screams]
โ So strap in, America.
This is "Cannonball."
โ Oh, my God! โ [laughing]
โ That's not a cannonball.
โ Ah!
โ This is a cannonball.
โ Yeah!
[cheers and applause]
[upbeat music]
โ Welcome to "Cannonball." I'm your host Mike Mizanin.
By my side is my friend and coโhost Rocsi Diaz.
โ We're gonna have some fun today, Mike,
and these competitors are about to hit the water
and compete for $10,000.
โ I hope you're ready because it's time to "Cannonball."
[upbeat music]
โ First up is Speed Skipper.
Our athletes will start seven stories high,
flying down the mega slide at speeds of up
to 80 miles an hour.
โ Then they'll skim across the water absorbing
the brutal impact of our speed bumps.
They'd better hold on because
it's going to be fast and furious.
โ The eight athletes who get the furthest the fastest
will advance to the next round.
The bottom three athletes will be going home.
Before we get started,
let's check in with our sideline reporter Simon Gibson
down on the shoreline. Simon?
โ Hey, thanks, guys, but honestly,
what are you throwing to me for?
People want to know who's gonna win this thing.
Let's get to it! Back to you!
โ Thanks, Simon.
โ Let's meet our first competitor,
Friday Sydell.
โ Hello!
Hey, I'm Friday, I'm 29,
and I am the party.
[upbeat music]
I want to inspire everyone to have that Friday mentality
even on a Monday.
It's always Friday somewhere,
especially if you believe it in your mind.
โช โช
โ O...
Kay. Uhโโ
โ You know, Friday went to circus school.
โ I believe it.
โ All right, and here we go.
โ Whoo!
โ Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
โ [screams]
โ Oh, wow. Oh, oh!
โ Airborne!
Oh! โ Ooh, wow.
โ โช That's how you cannonball that's how you cannonball โช
โ [laughing]
I made it!
โ Let's take a look at her instant replay.
โ What a good, good run. Wow, she goes flying.
Friday hits the first jump and nearly clears the gap...
but she is able to control her body all the way through
the second bumper.
โ She made it to the air wall which is 126 feet.
8.89 seconds is her time.
โ [laughs]
She's having a lot of fun out there.
Who's our next competitor?
โ All right, coming up next is Zach Guevin.
โ Oh, okay. [exhales sharply]
So high.
โ He's 21 years old from Reno, Nevada.
โ Oh, man.
[upbeat music]
Hi, my name is Zach Guevin,
and I work in a fast food chicken restaurant.
I eat chicken every day of my life.
Those chicken sandwiches... lifeโchanging.
Hi, baby! I love chicken.
There's nothing wrong about it. [chicken clucks]
I might eat chicken all day long,
but I am no chicken on "Cannonball."
โ I wonder if he works at a specific chicken chain
that has a sandwich that sells out all the time.
โ Or the other chicken sandwich
which is basically better. โ No way.
โ Oh, my God, yeah way.
All right, Zach at the top of the slide ready to go.
โ Oh, God bless America.
โ Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
Smooth entry. The legs are up.
No drag. Nice.
Wow, that is a really good run.
Almost misses the air wall and just keeps going.
โ [laughs]
Let's take a look at his instant replay.
โ Great velocity.
It's no wonder he works at a fast food place.
[chicken clucks]
Whether it's in a driveโthru
or skipping across Cannonball Bay,
Zach is lightning quick.
โ He went 126 feet at 7.45 seconds,
putting him in the lead right now.
โ Who we got next?
โ Coming up next is Ravven Khraich.
5'3", 112 pounds, Mike.
โ Hi, my name is Ravven, I'm 23,
and I run a online motivational fitness business.
[bullet ricochets]
I played sports all my life. I've done cheer.
Be aggressive Be, be aggressive.
Whoo!
With my fitness experience,
I'm ready to kill it out there.
โ Looks like Ravven's ready.
โ Whoo, this is really high.
Whoo!
โ And here's the count.
Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
โ [screams]
โ Big scream. โ Oh, my God!
[bird squawking]
โ Oh, she just misses the bird!
Oh, wow!
โ Well, I can't believe that!
We have got to look at that again in the replay.
โ Well, as you can see,
Ravven gained some nice speed down the slide
and then almost hit the duck.
Yep, that's right, a freaking duck,
and thankfully here at Cannonball Studios,
we have slow motion technology and an endless supply
of dramatic music,
so give her a rip, Mr. Maestro!
[intense music]
โ [screams]
โ No, no, oh, no!
[duck quacks in slow motion]
โ [screaming in slow motion]
โช โช
โ Could you imagine if she would have hit the duck?
Man, Daffy would have been really unhappy.
โ [screaming in slow motion]
โ I think she should get some bonus points for that.
โ She wasn't kidding when she said she
was gonna kill it out here.
โ Ravven's results are in. Not bad.
114 feet, 2 inches.
[duck quacking]
Let's go to Simon right now. Simon?
โ Okay, Ravven,
you were within centimeters
from plowing into a duck.
Did that affect your score at all?
โ I felt like it slowed me down because I flinched,
but I was like, "You're messing up my run, man."
โ You didn't quite make it to the end,
but you did go 114 feet, 2 inches.
Not bad at all.
You feeling good about that? โ Yes!
โ She's feeling good! I'm feeling great!
Back to you in the booth!
I'm gonna go and find this duck.
[ducks quacking] Hey!
โ All right, Simon. Thank you very much.
โ Everybody watching is gonna think we sabotaged her now.
โ We did not sabotage. That bird landed right there.
โ [laughs]
All right, and with that score,
Ravven ends up landing at the bottom
of our leader board
but it's still early in the competition.
On deck we have our oldest athlete of the day,
Debbie Delarosa.
โ Hi, I'm Debbie Delarosa. I'm 57 years old.
Just call me Debbie D. for short.
Age is just a number, you are what you feel,
and I feel really great.
People I think will underestimate me
so I guess I'll be that quiet storm.
You don't know I'm coming, but look out when I do.
[tense music]
โ Do you think that age'll play a factor
in this one, Mike? โ I mean, I respect my elders.
The Mega Slide does not. โ [laughs]
โ Here we go.
Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blows]
Floppy entry but she picks up some speed,
hits the launch and that first hurdle.
Oh, Debbie does a nosedive!
Ooh, no, no, no.
โ Awesome! โ And more no.
โ So great. โ I love the confidence.
โ So much fun. Whoo!
โ Let's take a look at that instant replay.
Roll from the start, Mike.
โ She flops in on the entry.
A lot of drag down the slide.
She hits that first bump and soars.
It almost shocks her.
Into that second bump,
and she's just all over the place after that.
Not a good run.
โ Didn't hit that wall. 96 feet, 2 inches.
โ So we'll see.
I imagine she's on the bubble right now
but I'm curious to see if she'll make it
to the next round. โ Up top.
โ Coming up next is Christos Giagos.
โ Ah, let's go! Let's go!
[upbeat music]
โ My name is Christos Giagos.
I'm a professional MMA fighter.
I already know I'm tough.
I don't gotta prove to anybody I'm tough,
but, you know, I like, uh, chick flicks.
I love "The Notebook.
Um, I watched it
a bunch of times.
โ [woman crying]
โ I fight in the lightweight division.
It's one of the toughest divisions out there.
You know, performing at the highest level of MMA,
it's gonna be no problem competing here
in these little water sports.
โ What did he justโโexcuse me, What did he just say?
Did he just say little water sports?
Your competitor is a 100โstory high mega slide
and two speed bumps.
Can you defeat them or will it defeat you?
โ [laughs] We will find out soon.
Christos needs to beat 92'6" if he wants to K. O. Debbie
and move on. โ Debbie!
โ Here comes the count.
both: Three, two, one.
"Cannonball"! [air horn blaring]
Smooth entry.
No drag seen whatsoever.
โ [shouting] โ Oh!
Wow! โ Whoo!
โ Whoo! โ That was a fast
and really crisp run.
Let's take a look at the instant replay.
What do you see, Mike?
โ Smooth entry. He really attacks it.
Goes down the slide, no drag whatsoever,
and hit that first speed bump and goes right directly
face first into the air wall.
โ Chris's score, 126 feet, he hit the air wall.
7.82 seconds. Great run.
โ That run was perfect. โ [slow motion shouting]
โ He's standing by with Simon right now.
Simon? โ All right, Christos.
Incredible run, incredible 'stache,
and we will see both of those things in the next round.
You're moving on! โ Yeah!
โ That's what I'm talking about!
Back to you in the booth.
โ Also joining Christos in the second round
is Adam Pedicini, Brianna Moshenko...
โ We also have Russell Silva...
โ [shouting in slow motion]
โ And Nicole Ross. โ [shouts]
โ Take a look at your top eight, America.
Never has a group of athletes
this awesome been assembled.
Round two is next, and guess what.
Spoiler alert: everyone gets soaked.
Everyone gets drenched.
It's gonna be mayhem. Stick around.
โ Welcome back to "Cannonball."
We're into round two, which brings our remaining
eight competitors one step closer to our grand prize
of $10,000.
โ Man, that first round came right down to the wire.
A couple more rounds like that
and I may run out of nails to bite.
โ Rocsi, I've seen your nails and we'll be halfway
into season three before that starts to be a problem.
โ Up next is Fly Ball.
Athletes will sit surrounded
by a field of different colored balls.
A 500โpound cannon ball will drop onto a giant air blaster
and launch our athletes skyward where they'll try
to catch as many balls as they can with a net.
โ Be ready to swing as soon as you launch
because time will fly even faster than you will.
โ The blue ones are worth one point,
pink are worth two,
and the gold balls are worth three.
The six athletes with the most points will move on.
The two with the least amount of points are going home.
โ [screams] โ I'm thinking strategy.
You need to get as many balls as possible.
Okay, how do I get those balls?
I swing the damn net! It's not that hard!
[mimics whooshing sounds]
โ Antonio Banderas would be so proud of you right now.
Mike, time to put away your imaginary net
and head over to the air blaster
where Brianna Moshenko is ready and waiting.
โ She's a PE teacher, so she definitely wants to impress
her students back at her school.
โ Ready.
โ โช You better make your โช
โช Make your make your move โช
โ My name's Brianna, I'm 29,
and I'm from San Diego.
At work my students call me Briancรฉ
because I love to dance.
[upbeat music]
โช โช
Queen Briancรฉ's bringing it today.
โ โช 'Cause the beauty's inside me โช
โ At 5'5",
is her height gonna play against her
with not having that much reach?
โ Well...yes.
โ [screams]
โ She looks like she's ready to go.
โ All right, here comes the count.
โ Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blaring]
โ [screams] โ She's up in the air,
and I think she actually got a few.
โ [laughing]
Oh!
โ That was crazy.
โ โช Stick your chest out โช
โ Queen Bri is out here scooping up balls
like they're Grammys.
โ โช Stick your chest out โช
โ And Brianna's official score is in.
She was able to get one of each ball in the net,
giving her a total of six points, Mike.
โ And demonstrating for her gym students
a textbook Fly Ball face flop.
She's always teaching.
Who's our next athlete?
โ Coming up next is Friday Sydell.
โ Yeah!
โ Friday's kinda that artsy girl.
โ Yeah. โ Like, she has
a different way of doing things,
different way of thinking.
Maybe the universe will come calling.
Who knows?
โ Super psyched! [laughs]
โ She's super psyched, Mike.
โ Well, as they say, TGIF.
Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blaring]
โ [screams]
โ No swinging whatsoever.
[cheers and applause]
That looked like it hurt. โ Yeah.
โ [gasping]
โ Let's take a look at her instant replay.
โ Big launch off the air blaster,
then Friday gets a case of the Mondays
and forgets to swing.
Luckily gravity helped her out when she forgot to fall.
โ [screaming in slow motion]
โ She was able to get one blue ball good for one point.
Not that great.
โ She goes to the beat of her own drum.
Too bad that drum was totally out of sync.
Who do we got next?
โ Coming up next is Zach Guevin.
โ That net's like holing the fry basket.
I'm gonna swing it till I catch as many balls as I can with it.
โ This man eats, breathes, and sleeps chicken
so swing that fry basket around and do your thing,
chicken man. โ Here we go.
โ Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
โ [shouts] โ He's in the air.
He's got one swing.
Wow, that was some major air.
โ Ooh, it's cold! โ That was some major air.
Well, I'll tell you whatโโ I don't know if you realize
you can swing more than once.
I'm not sure what Zach was thinking up there.
Chicken sammies, chicken fries,
chicken Creole, chicken gumbo.
All I know was he was not thinking about swingin'.
โ He got one blue ball.
That is one point on the board for Zach.
โ One swing isn't gonna get you a lot of balls.
โ Have to swing if you want those balls,
as some of our other athletes found out earlier.
โ Like our softy MMA fighter Christos.
โ Oh!
โ That ought to toughen him up.
โ Flight attendant Russell also gave it a whirl.
โ Oh, he gets up high...
only to end up crash landing with zero balls.
โ Damn! โ And our duck hunter Ravven
soared through the sky
and grabbed one ball as well as a lot of water.
โ [grunting]
โ What do you say?
Shall we leader board it up, Rocs?
โ Seems like the perfect time.
Zach, Friday, and Ravven
barely staying alive
while our flight attendant
Russell sits in last place
with two more athletes left to go.
Coming up next
is Adam Pedicini.
โ I'm gonna get launched so high,
I'll be able to wave to my mates back in Australia.
[classical music]
My name's Adam Pedicini, and I'm from Australia.
Right now I'm a stayโatโhome dad.
I have a twoโyearโold daughter and before I was a dad,
I was a dancer.
โ Oh, yeah.
โ I was a backup dancer.
Did fashion shows, corporate shows.
I'm surprised that I'm the only one
wearing a Speedo here.
In Australia it's common.
We wear quite a lot of them.
I've got a number of them at home,
uh, so yeah, IโโI wasn't sure.
No one else got the memo to wear Speedos but...oh, well.
โ When you're a man that wears a teeny weenie bikini,
you better come and you better come correct.
Adam about to let it all hang out,
and we're ready for the countdown.
both: Three, two, one.
"Cannonball"! [air horn blaring]
He's in the air and he is swinging!
He's swinging!
both: Oh, wow.
โ I see a gold ball in that net.
There may be more than one.
โ Beautiful.
โ Let's take a look at this instant replay.
How does it look? โ He goes up in the air,
and he goes high.
Flying high, and he just starts swinging.
Swing, and you will catch balls.
He did exactly that.
โ We have finally seen somebody catch
not only one gold ball but two gold balls.
That was an amazing run.
He's standing by with Simon. Simon?
โ All right, Adam. Incredible run.
Tell us about it.
โ Well we went high and we just swiped and, uh,
it's like in Australia when you're swatting fliesโโ
I just hope for the best and, uh, I got a couple of balls,
so I'm happy. โ You got seven points.
Truly an incredible run, and guess what, pal?
You're moving on to the next round!
[cheers and applause]
Love to see it. I'm not done lookin', Adam.
Back to you in the booth!
โ All right, thank you very much, Simon.
โ Okay, let's take a look at the leader board.
With Adam's run,
Russell Silva
has been eliminated.
Duck hunter Ravven
is on the bubble
as we go to our last athlete,
former beauty queen
Nicole Ross.
If Nicole can get two points,
she'll secure her spot
into the next round.
โ So my strategy for this round
is to have a pageant wave, keep that posture straight,
and keep smiling. Smile and wave.
โ I have the mentality of a pageant queen.
Hi. โ Wow.
All right. โ Hi.
[silent]
โช โช
โ All right, and here we go.
Time to add to your trophy case, Nicole.
Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blaring]
โ Whoa! โ And she's up in the air
and what is she doing?
There's just all types of terrible in that run.
โ She got zero balls in her net.
โ This wasn't the swimsuit competition, Miss Missouri.
This was about grabbing balls in a net.
Look at that weak wave of hers.
โ Zero balls, zero points.
โ Well, she wins my vote for Miss Congeniality.
Too bad the prize for that is also a trip home.
โ Maybe we should just wave at her now.
โ Uh, wave byeโbye.
โ And there you have it.
Round three is now locked
for these six brave souls.
โ Stay right there because coming up,
we've got a drag race like you've never seen before.
We'll be right back.
โ Welcome back to "Cannonball."
We've arrived at round three
with only six competitors left
in the pursuit of our $10,000 grand prize.
โ Today's competitors have really brought it, Mike.
I honestly wish they all could win.
โ You know, I do, too,
but there's just not enough money in the budget.
I mean, we could afford it if each of us took a little bit
of a pay cut, soโโ โ And one winner it is.
โ What's up next? โ All right.
Next up, it's the Drag.
Elevated 40 feet in the air,
our athletes will hold on to a water ski handle
as they accelerate off the launch pad,
reaching speeds up to 40 miles per hour.
โ What you have to do here is gold on tight to the handle.
Your instincts will tell you to let go
once you're off the ramp,
but they'll need to time the release
in hopes of hitting the target below.
โ The five athletes who can get the closest
to the center of the target will move on
to the semifinalsโโthe other one will be going home.
[exciting music]
Let's go up to the launch pad
to kick things off with our first competitor...
Friday Sydell.
โ Friday does things her own way.
โ Yes, she does.
โ She thinks outside the box,
so I'm curious to see what her strategy is
here on the Drag.
โ My strategy is to put my faith in the universe,
take a leap, and hit the target.
โ Not much of a strategy there, Mike.
โ Sometimes simpler, the better.
โ [exhales] Oh, God.
โ And she looks a bit nervous.
โ All right, here comes the count.
โ Three, two, one.
"Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
And she is off.
โ [screams]
โ And she actually does a really good job.
I hope that her feet got down before her butt.
โ Let's take a look at the instant replay.
โ Friday said she was gonna put her faith in the universe,
and it turns out the universe totally digs her.
[squeaking sound] โ Look at her gliding
through time and space
as if the laws of Earthly physics
do not apply to her at all.
โ Friday's score is 6 feetโโ โ Boom!
โ 9 inches. Amazing score.
She's standing by with Simon right now.
Simon? โ Okay, Friday.
So this is to move on to the semifinals.
โ I know. โ What are you gonna do
with that money if you win?
โ Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Ride with me on this. Um, dream a little.
โ I'm riding. โ Okay.
I'm gonna get a custom tuxedo made.
Think Madonna. Like, '80s, you know?
And then I'm gonna go to Cape Town, South Africa
to Boulders Beach, uh, where a ton of penguins hang out,
and I'm gonna take the world's coolest selfie
in my custom tuxedo.
[all laughing]
โ Back to you in the booth. I wanna see this!
โ That is the most millennial thing I've ever heard
in my entire life.
โ All right, we gotta get ready for our next competitor,
Christos Giagos.
โ Whoo! Let's go, baby.
My time.
Time to get that knockout.
โ As I look at him,
he just has that mentality of,
"I have to be number one." โ Right.
โ And you gotta love that in this competition.
โ If you're not first, you're last.
Shake... โ And bake.
โ Let's go! Let's go!
โ He's pumping himself up, psyching himself up.
Here we go.
Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball! [air horn blares]
โ And the ski rope is pulled,
he launches off the bed... โ [screams]
โ Wow! โ Oh!
โ Whoo! โ Wow.
โ Whoo!
Whooโhoo!
Yeah, baby!
โ He is a beast, a force to be reckoned with.
โ My ass!
โ That looks like it stung a little.
Let's take a look at the instant replay.
[rock music]
โ Like a seasoned vet in the ring,
Christos lets the ski handle make the first move,
then he pounces at the perfect time.
What a run! [bell ringing]
Except for the buttโfirst landing part.
โ [sloโmo] Ow, my ass!
โ And Christos's score is in right now.
4 feet, 2 inches, Mike.
โ That's pretty good!
โ Coming up next is Adam Pedicini,
our boy from down under. What do you think?
โ Yeah, down under!
โ Yes! [laughs]
The last round I did finish first,
and that's a good confidence booster,
but I know with any good competition
it's not over till the fat lady sings,
or Simon. โ Hey!
โ [laughing]
โ All right, and here we go.
Three, two, one.
"Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
โ [shouts]
โ And he goes, andโโoh!
Whoa! What a good jump!
That was a really good run.
โ Boom!
โ Happened so fast,
I have to see the replay.
โ As you can see, he's really dialed in
then decides to put his legs down under...neath him
to hit that target.
โ Adam's score is officially in, Mike.
3 feet, 8 inches from the target.
โ No one has come that close.
[cheers and applause]
โ Yeah!
โ Three athletes, three very solid scores.
โ After that run,
Adam takes over the top spot with Christos and Friday
not too far behind him. Great stuff so far.
โ Who's our next competitor?
โ Coming up next is Ravven Khraich.
โ She is nervous up on the launch pad,
which doesn't really fare well
for some people... โ No, it doesn't.
โ When you're too nervous. You gotta remain focused.
You gotta lock in and make sure you know what you're doing.
โ Ah, oh, my gosh, I'm so [bleep] scared.
โ Aww, Ravven!
This isn't the challenge you want if you're nervous.
You're gonna psych yourself out.
โ She's scared. Hopefully she'll be able
to use that nervous energy.
And here we go.
Three, two, one.
"Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
And she is off. โ [screams]
[cheers and applause]
โ Wow, for a person that's really scared,
that was a pretty good run.
โ She's completely pumped up, Mike.
โ Oh, my gosh!
โ Let's see that again in the replay.
โ Way to step up, Ravven.
Full of nerves, but she killed it.
Just line up the targets,
and this duck hunter will mow them down.
โ And Ravven's results are officially in, Mike.
7 feet... โ Wow.
โ 5 inches from the target.
โ She gets a decent score. Who's up next?
โ Coming up is Brianna Moshenko.
What do you think of Brianna, Mike?
โ โช I just wanna make you feel... โช
โ Oh, man.
โ She's a PE teacher and she excels
at breaking kids out of their comfort zones.
โ There's nothing like "Cannonball"
in any PE class I teach.
โ She is a huge Beyoncรฉ fan.
She better have some Beyoncรฉ moves up there in that air.
โ Let's go, Queen B.
โ Oh, I'm scared.
โ Here we go.
Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"!
And the ripcord is up. She's got a good grip.
Ooh! โ That was not good.
โ Not good at all.
โ Let's take a look at that instant replay, Mike.
What do you see?
โ Brianna, a big fan of Beyoncรฉ
but apparently not a big fan of holding on to ski handles.
That was a very early release.
โ Brianna's score is in right now.
9 feet, 2 inches.
โ I got a good old water enema on that one.
[both laughing]
โ A good attempt, but with so many great scores,
Brianna sits at the bottom of the leader board.
A spot in the semifinals is not looking good for her
as we head to our last athlete,
the chicken man himself, Zach. โ Ooh.
โ This guy works at a fast food chicken joint
and he just earned employee of the month.
I mean, this guy is all about precision.
I think this is the time for him to shine.
And it looks like Zach is ready on the launch pad
in three, two, one.
"Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
And the ski rope is pulled
and he is launched off the pad.
[all oohing]
โ Oh! [laughing]
Oh!
โ That's gonna leave a mark. โ That looked like it hurt.
โ Let's take a look at the instant replay.
โ [shouting in slow motion]
โ Well, at 15 feet, 1 inch,
that is the worst score of the round.
โ Why did the chicken man cross the road?
Because he biffed it and had to go home.
[chicken clucks]
โ And then there were five.
The semifinals are set,
and this is who's moving on.
โ Don't go anywhere because if you stop watching,
I will never forgive you. Seriously!
We'll be right back.
โ Welcome back to "Cannonball."
We've arrived at the semifinals
with the $10,000 grand prize just one round away.
โ Mike, everyone has shown tremendous grit today.
What's impressed you the most about today's performances?
โ Honestly, it's either the incredible courage
that's been on display or the fact that no one
has lost a swimsuit.
Both are equally unbelievable to me.
โ Up next it's Ripcord.
Our athletes will be yanked 50 feet into the air
and from there they'll need
to grab a ripcord while moving forward
and then pull it at the right time
in hopes of touching down as close to the target
as possible. โ This one's gonna be nasty.
You're gonna be pulling three Gs.
That's faster than most roller coasters.
โ The four athletes who get the closest to the center
of the target will move on to the finals.
The one who is farthest away will go home.
โ You don't wanna go home right now because
the next round is the finals for $10,000.
โ Our first competitor, Adam, is ready and waiting.
โ It's a fullโon wedgie.
โ Ah, that harness is really accentuating that Speedo.
โ It's out there. โ [laughs]
โ And here we go in three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blaring]
And he is up in the air.
He's focused. He's locked in.
โ Whooโhoo!
โ And he lands in the water very close to the target.
โ Oh, geez, stop it!
That'll keep our censors on their toes.
Let's check out the instant replay.
โ Adam bringing the thunder from down under.
โ [laughs] โ Perfect release.
Great focus.
He may not be a crocodile hunter,
but he's definitely a target hunter.
โ [laughs] He's definitely not a shy man.
He landed 3 feet, 5 inches from the center of the target.
โ Unbelievable, and this is the type of performance
you want right before the finals.
โ Coming up next is Brianna Moshenko.
What do you think of her?
โ She's a PE teacher, so she definitely wants to impress
her students back at her school because, you know,
she fails, it's like,
"We watched you on national television
"embarrass yourself and you're gonna tell us what to do?
I don't think so."
All right.
Here we go in three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blaring]
And she is up. Oh, she's screaming.
She releasesesโโ [stammers]
[all cheering]
โ She releaseses? โ [mutters]
โ [laughs]
โ All right. โ Come on.
โ Let's take a look at the instant replay, Mike.
โ โช You can call me super star whoa โช
โ Queen Bri crazy in love with the run,
and she should be.
She was Sasha Fierce out there.
Perfect timing,
then she drops in just as I'm running out
of Beyoncรฉ references.
Man, I'm parched.
Can anybody get me some lemonade?
โ And Brianna's official score is 3 feet, 11 inches
from the target.
โ Great body awareness.
She's gotta be proud of her run.
โ Really, really good job by her.
Coming up next is Friday Sydell.
โ She's had some interesting strategies so far.
I can't wait to see what she's thinking here.
โ [squeaking sound]
โ My strategy is the last two challenges I landed
in fetal position and I hurt my bum,
so I want to try to be a pencil this time.
โ [speaking Japanese]
โ Friday does things her own way.
โ Yes, she does.
Really, really, really is gonna have to show out
because this could be the difference between
going home and going to the finals.
โ Absolutely.
โ All right, make it official, Mike.
โ Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
And she is up in the air.
She is looking for the ripcord.
โ [screams] โ A little late on the tug.
โ [shouts]
โ That is not what I call graceful.
โ That looked like it hurt.
Let's just take a look at the instant replay.
โ Oh, my God!
โ Free spirit Friday tried the pencil technique,
but she didn't stay straight enough
and still banged up the old booty.
โ Friday landed 15 feet, 8 inches away.
Let's see how she's feeling right now
as she's standing by with Simon.
Simon? โ Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
What up? Good to see you again.
So Friday, it looked like you overshot the target
just a little bit. Tell us about that.
โ I was a little disappointed that I didn't hit it
as close as I would have liked.
โ Well, I know you're a little disappointed,
but right now you are technically right on the bubble
and you don't know what can happen,
so I know I'm rooting for you.
I want to take that selfie. I want the penguins.
Mike and Rocsi, back to you!
โ All right, thank you very much, Simon.
Who do we got next?
โ Christos Giagos is up next, Mike.
How does he look to you?
โ He looks like he's ready to fight.
โ Whoo!
โ This time he's fighting a ripcord.
โ Let's go.
โ He is locked and loaded in...
both: Three, two, one.
"Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
โ Whoo!
โ He's up. โ [whooping]
Yeah, baby! โ Look at him!
Oh, wow! โ Oh!
โ What a release! โ Whoo!
โ That's what I'm talking about.
โ That was awesome!
โ I'm going to the finals! I'm going to the finals!
โ Yes, you are, Christos.
That bull'sโeye puts you at the top of our leader board
and with only the top four moving on,
that puts free spirit Friday on the bubble
as we head to our last athlete,
duck hunter Ravven.
โ Ah, nervous!
โ She's probably thinking,
"Please don't let no birds come up here now."
โ Yeah, please don't let any birdโโno more birds.
โ She'll need perfect flying conditions out there
if she's going to beat Friday's distance
of 15 feet, 8 inches.
โ And here we go.
The last spot of the finals is on the line.
both: Three, two, one.
"Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
And she is up.
She's already got itโโ uhโoh.
โ [screams] โ Oh, wow.
โ Oh, no! โ She waited too long.
โ Too late. Oh, way overshot.
โ This is a very sloppy run.
โ Yeah, let's take a look at the instant replay.
โ She goes up in the air and it looks like she's about
to pull the ripcord. โ Yeah.
โ Her feet start flailing, her arms start flailing,
but she holds back.
She holds back for so long,
she overshoots the target,
and into the water, but will it be enough?
โ All right, Ravven, I just got your official distance.
You were 15 feet, 1 inch.
You're moving on to the finals, baby!
Ravven! Love to hear it!
Back to you in the booth!
โ And with that,
lucky duck Ravven edged her way into the finals
along with these other fine athletes.
โ Unfortunately, that means we have to say goodโbye
to Friday, who will be missed.
โ โช I've run out of time โช
โ I am the party!
โ โช And I'm feeling broken โช
โ It's always Friday somewhere
if you believe it in your mind.
[squeaky voice]
Thank you for having me.
โ Byeโbye, Friday.
We'll be right back.
โ Welcome back to "Cannonball."
It's time for the finals.
Four competitors have survived,
but only one will be going home with our grand prize
of $10,000.
โ Who will be our "Cannonball" champion?
Will it be duck hunter Ravven,
Beyoncรฉ fan Brianna,
Australian Speedoโwearer Adam,
or will our softy MMA fighter Christos give us a tear jerker
of an ending worthy of a Nicholas Sparks movie?
โ Let's get right into it and take a look
at our fifth and final challenge.
โ It's time for the Cannon.
Our finalists will rocket down our supedโup mega slide
now 20 feet longer and with a 45โdegree launch
at the end.
โ I think we've really outdone ourselves,
but there's one more thing.
When they hit that launch,
they'll be in total darkness.
โ Each athlete's maximum height
plus total distance equals their final score.
โ You have to go big here.
Remember, second place is just the first loser.
โ All right, our first competitor is Ravven Khraich.
What do you think of Ravven, Mike?
โ Listen, if you're 5'3", 112 pounds,
you're going on the Mega Slide,
you must have a perfect run, because you need
as much velocity to explode out of that cannon.
โ I'm nervous.
You guys put me through a lot today.
I'm scared.
โ You know, when you're standing up there
and you're looking down at the Mega Slide,
you gotta be thinking to yourself,
"Oh, my gosh,
I am literally this close to winning $10,000."
โ Now is where the pressure hits.
Looks like Ravven's ready.
both: Three, two, one.
"Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
Oh, she's a little all over the place on the slide.
โ [screams]
โ And she does not release the sled.
This is the finals! Release the sled!
โ Oh, Ravven.
Let's take a look at that instant replay.
โ Ravven forgets to do everythingโโ
lift her feet, stay straight,
reach up high, and ditch the sled,
which really hurts her max height.
โ Yeah, she only got a height of 21 feet, 5 inches,
but with a solid distance
of 33 feet, 9 inches,
she gets a total score of 55 feet, 2 inches.
Simon is down with Ravven now.
โ All right, so Ravven,
I just got your total score, and that is 55 feet, 2 inches.
Pretty good.
Do you think that's good enough to win "Cannonball"?
โ Ooh, I hope so. I really, really hope so.
โ All right, we're gonna find out if that's good enough.
Mike and Rocsi, back to you in the booth.
โ All right, thank you very much, Simon.
Who is our next finalist?
โ Brianna Moshenko is up next.
What do you think of her, Mike?
โ She's a hard 120 pounds.
She must attack this slide. โ Right.
โ Tell yourself, "You know what?
This is 'Cannonball.' This is for the finals."
This is where it's make or break.
โ Yeah. โ $10,000 or nothing.
Beyoncรฉ fan looking to bump Ravven out
and take center stage.
Three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blares]
โ Whooโhoo, "Cannonball"!
Whoo!
โ She's blowing all the way down.
Look at her fly! Look at that landing.
โ I'm actually really proud of her.
She attacked it even after showing a few nerves up there
on the platform.
Let's take a look at that in
the instant replay once again.
โ The beehive should be impressed.
Very little drag,
then she holds her arms up high for extra height.
โ That's right, Mike.
She got big air for a height of 24 feet, 6 inches,
then the decent distance of 33 feet, 6 inches
Brianna gets a total score of 58 feet flat.
And with that, we have to say goodโbye to Ravven Khraich.
โ 58 feet. Good job, Brianna.
You're in first place.
We're all sad to see Ravven go,
but you know who's not sad?
All the ducks here in Cannonball Bay.
You can sleep easy now, guys.
โ It's a KO, baby. โ Don't go anywhere.
Our final two challengers get their chance to take home
our $10,000 grand prize right after this.
โ Welcome back to "Cannonball."
With only two athletes, left to go,
that $10,000 grand prize is going to someone real soon.
โ With a score of 58 feet even,
Beyoncรฉ fan Brianna Moshenko knocked out Ravven Khraich,
making Brianna now the one to beat.
It's time for everyone's favorite Aussie,
Adam Pedicini. โ Whoo!
When I was a kid,
I used to watch those shows and I'd see the clowns
get flown out of the cannon.
I thought, "I'd love to do that one day."
[chuckles] Well, what do you know?
Here I am. [chuckles]
โ Adam is up on deck in his teeny weenie bikini.
Let's see how he does.
โ All right, he's ready.
Make it official, Mike.
โ In three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blaring]
Sideways entrance.
He goes down. โ Wow, great speed.
โ Oh, nice speed. He launches himself.
Oh, what is this?
What is this?
What is this? [laughs]
โ I love it.
Let's take a look at the instant replay.
What do you see, Mike?
โ As he exits the cannon,
he gives us a little hiโho Silver
and puts his arm up.
It's not gonna help his score, but we appreciate the gesture.
If anything, it's definitely made me laugh.
Thanks, Adam.
All right, with his very solid hi how are you height
of 25 feet, 7 inches,
and a stellar distance of 36 feet even,
Adam comes in with a total score of 61 feet, 9 inches.
โ Oh, wow.
โ And that means we have a new leader.
Adam has knocked out Brianna Moshenko
and now the Aussie is the one to beat.
He's standing by with Simon right now.
Simon?
โ So you went through the cannon,
did a wave to the booth.
What was going on in your mind there?
โ I just thought I could get a little bit
of extra height there, so I went for that.
IโโthatโโI don't know.
I was like, "G'day! Here you go."
โ I just got your total score. You went 61 feet, 9 inches.
Pretty good.
Do you think that's good enough to win "Cannonball"?
โ We'll see what happens.
โ All right, we're gonna find out.
Mike and Rocsi, back to you in the booth.
โ All right, thank you very much, Simon.
Who is our next finalist?
โ Christos Giagos is up next.
He's a force to be reckoned with, Mike.
โ Whoo! Let's go!
This is it!
โ Christos has to beat 61 feet, 9 inches in order to take home
that $10,000.
โ That is a tough score to beat.
โ I'm about to deliver this TKO, baby.
โ All right, Christos looks like he is ready,
in three, two, one.
both: "Cannonball"! [air horn blaring]
And he attacks the slide. Good entrance.
No drag whatsoever.
Pops off and goes the distance!
That is a lot of distance and great height.
โ He got a lot of distance, Mike.
I agree with you.
Let's take a look at the instant replay.
โ As he enters the cannon,
he's full confidence, full speed.
A lot of velocity.
He explodes out of it.
He's got great height, great distance,
but I don't' know if it's enough to beat Adam.
โ Let's find out as he's standing by
with Simon right now.
โ The score to beat was 61 feet, 9 inches.
You went 64 feet, 9 inches, and guess what?
You just won "Cannonball"! You got it!
[cheers and applause]
โ [shouting]
โ You just won $10,000!
โ I'm getting a new car, baby! Whoo!
โ Congratulations.
You're "Cannonball" champion and the winner of $10,000.
Go get yourself a new car. โ Get a new car.
You deserve it.
โ Well, it was fast, it was fun,
and now it's finished.
For Rocsi Diaz and Simon Gibson,
I'm Mike Mizanin,
and we'll see you next time on "Cannonball."
[uplifting music]
โช โช
Thanks for watching, folks.
This is "Cannonball,"
brought to you by the competitive spirit
and the love of money.
