This location is called Phoenix and Dragon,
and it's the place to go in Atlanta for New Age candles,
crystals, oils, and books.
It's easy for me to get people to buy into magic
in a place that's full of mystical stuff,
but because they're already primed to believe
the unbelievable,
I have to work that much harder to get reactions.
Yeah, we do this yearly inventory and cleaning.

we were having some issues with the next trick
which was supposed to involve a real-live monkey.
So instead, I improvised a mentalism trick
on unsuspecting customers using aging crystal balls
that were supposedly "running low" on their mystical powers.

We filmed a couple of days at this Army Navy surplus store,
and there was one time we hit a dry patch --
absolutely no customers in the place.
So the owner, a fan of the show,
called up a local gear manufacturer
who sent a couple of their reps in to watch my demonstration
of a new and impossible product.
Well, this is the one that they're trying to promote now.
It's the -- They're calling it the ultimate utility belt.
Uh-huh. And it's just got --
it comes preloaded with stuff.
Which is cool 'cause it's got, like, a triple, you know,
rain poncho
and, uh, dental floss and stuff that you would use.
So when someone buys it,
it's not just like they're buying just the thing,
but they're buying all the stuff with it.
The knife, some clothespins, and, you know, deodorant.
It's, like, regular stuff that regular people would wear,
not just stuff for the field.
You know, like this little, uh --
little vase thing, and a flashlight.
Easy -- Easy-to-use stuff.
And...
it'll come with, you know, a little bit of whiskey
and some scissors, tape measure.
And, uh, in case you get stuck in the car,
you can break -- break your way out of it.
Sure. And then the plastic fruit.
It's, like, a thing if you're like --
some people are into, like, decoration stuff.
They're showing off how much stuff can actually come with it.

And they're really trying to play it up
with the parenting, you know, 'cause a lot of people --

It's $300, and this way a lot of people don't --

That's the main chicken coops over there.
The garden center was a beautiful location,
and we mostly enjoyed filming there --
except when it was hot and humid,
and the production team's video truck
was set up right next to a hornets' nest.
Fortunately, only one of our producers got stung.

But the rooster over there, he is just crazy.
So I set 'em up, uh, over here.
And we do two at a time, and the farm will pick them up.
Okay.
But it's good that we keep them separated from those two,
'cause those two over there are crazy.
They'll hatch too quickly. Okay.
You know, we don't want to force them into hatching.

And, uh, it's just a nice quiet place for them.

It's pretty rare for me to prank kids
on "The Carbonaro Effect"
since they tend to be easier to fool.
But Noah's reaction to this extremely fertile
hen is too priceless to leave on the cutting room floor.

the very last shoot day of season one.
But before we could celebrate, we had to get through
a particularly challenging day of filming with live animals
at one of the biggest doggie daycares in the South.

The owner really wants her to, uh, respond to a ball.
Like, so when they throw the ball, she doesn't go get it.
Yeah.
I know. That's exactly what my dog --
Some dogs just have it in them to be doing that.

So when I was at the gym one time,

And at last, this trick was born.
