We spent a couple of days filming at a dojo in Atlanta,

and we lured people in

by offering them a free private karate lesson.

All they had to do was evaluate the studio's newest instructor.

That would be me.

Okay? And it really helps to amp it up like that,

to really bri-i-i-i-ng it up.

It's called crescendoing vibrato.

So I'm gonna teach you how to do that.

Because it's very easy to see even the slightest vibrations

in the flicker of the flame.

For a beginner, that's really good.

Right.

On our second day of filming here, the power went out

and it ended out day early.

But before it did, we were able to nail this extremely

difficult,

never-before-seen trick.

Check it out.

We have a class of 25 kids

that are learning the art of concealment.

They're learning about how to hide in plain sight.

This is one of the lessons I was teaching them,

where it's not about trying to hide yourself in the night

'cause that's so simple.

Like, there's tons of shadows around everywhere.

But it's actually easier

to hide during the day.

Like, when the sun comes out -- look at this --

the sun comes out, it's got a bright, strong light.

That's what I show people, right?

And in that bright light around it

is tons of shadow. See that?

So it's actually easier to hide in the center of that light.

So around the center of that is where it's easier to hide.

Do you see what I mean?

Uh...

Right?

Yeah. Okay. I'm confused.

And it's about trying to hide. Good.

Good, good, good. So trying to find a way out of the light.

Follow the center of it. Come on, Anthony.

So it's basically the art of illusion?

It's like -- It's like that. Yeah.

Yeah, and he would be right here.

So, being able to hide

in the center of that light.

How did -- How did you do that? That's --

See, the brightness of the light

makes such a strong light,

that it's easier to hide actually inside of it.

The boy that was right there...

You saw -- You saw the shadow.

That's how they hide.

It blew my mind.

-Really? -[ Imitates explosion ]

It's a confusing thing, right?

That's something that I would be willing to learn it.

So we attempted this trick three times.

First two didn't work out because our hidden mikes

didn't pick up the delivery guy's audio.

To fix this, as soon as he arrived,

the owner of the dojo handed him a coffee cup

and told him to bring it to me.

It's a little bit of connecting back and forth,

But what happens a lot of times,

when things are weighing us down -- you know,

we're twisted, we're nervous, we get anxious,

we huddle, right? We huddle up.

And the idea is to really feel as tall as possible, right?

Yeah, you did that right.

Shoulders go up and down. You feel how tall you are?

Now, just for a visualization,

step up on the blocks. Okay?

Originally I was gonna stand on a stack of wooden karate boards

for this trick, but they kept toppling over during rehearsals.

So we dragged in these cinder blocks instead.

So it's like, instead of huddling down,

you stand up straight.

Do you remember how the room looked,

the awareness of the room before?

Yeah.

You bend you knees down

and come up, and try and remember

what that felt like when you were up there.

You can just...

feel yourself.

Slowly find your way...

up.

And just what the perspective of the room looks like,

letting my body feel tall.

You see?

Oh, my gosh.

Do you feel tall?

Wait. How did you get up there?

Well, it's not about being up or down.

Okay. We have to be very clear

about that.

It's about breathing the right air.

It's about feeling your perspective change, right?

-Okay. -Okay?

So let's try this again. Breathe in.

And then feel yourself coming back down.

Oh, my gosh.

See, there is no up on the blocks.

There is no down off the blocks.

It's the perspective of where we feel we are living from.

So, what is it? Like, just meditation type of thing?

It's a meditation type thing...

...that is allowing you to understand that your thoughts

are on a higher plane than the world is.

Wow.

You know, and if things are on a high shelf, you'll be able

to take them down just by thinking about taking them down.

It's not about "how high is the shelf."

It's about, "if I were up on that shelf, I can take it down."

where we managed to nail five tricks in one day,

despite some challenges.

at this military surplus store in rural Georgia.

The customers were great, but it was unusually difficult

to get them to sign their releases to appear on the show.

Turns out that survivalists, off-gridders,

and doomsday preppers aren't interested

in being on a hidden-camera TV show.

Fortunately, though, we got the few that we needed.

Doing a little demo here,

showing the different camos. You know?

I was looking for something that I bought a long time ago

but I never found again.

It was green like...

There's one over there, but it's not the same.

Oh, yeah. Just be careful when you're shopping,

because the ones -- if they have the retinal-camo logo,

they're very expensive. Oh, really?
