This first trick was written as "Money Squirrel,"

and we actually tried a real live squirrel

one afternoon in our magic workshop.

We quickly figured out that they're way too fast

and unpredictable to work with.

In fact, it took our animal handler about an hour

to get the guy back into his cage,

so we decided to use the animal you're about to see instead.

Yeah, paper money. Right. Uh, here.

Just sign your initials right on the bottom line there.

Great. Okay, good.

Still raining out there?

Uh, no. Not really, no.

No?

It's just damp, that's all.

Damp.

Okay. All right.

Put your initial receipt in here. Awesome.

We used to have the machine that does it, but --

Yeah, they're changing all the regulations

'cause the machines are actually glitchy.

Okay.

And they're third-party, so they charge the customers,

and people don't like that.

So, here you go.

Oh, my God. What is that?

Oh, it's a sorter.

All right.

There we go.

Are you serious? Yeah.

You know, they're the --

You know those Shanghai sorting squirrels?

There he goes. Really?

Yeah. They go in with your signature,

and we have the money in there,

and they find it's more accurate

because they do it, you know, by rote,

naturally sorting stuff out.

Here he goes.

And they pull it out into piles,

and it has like a little, you know, device back.

There he is.

Yeah.

We got him all rolled up there.

Whoa. Oh, my gosh!

They get excited when they handle it, you know?

'Cause to them it's like getting their feast ready,

so they get a little juiced.

And here's your initialed receipt

where we can put the total.

Okay.

Yeah. You look, like, miffed.

I was talking to you.

So, when did you start working here?

How do you feel about working with an animal?

Well, honestly, though, they give us better benefits

because now the whole place is assured to be on task better

because, you know, they're more accurate,

so we have less margin of error.

Okay. You know?

I have to get a rabies shot once a month to work with them,

but they're great.

And the truth is, they don't make mistakes.

That is amazing.

Yeah. They're nature's accountants, you know?

So that is $10, $20, 30, $34.

That's $34.50 for you.

Well, that's $5.

So it'll never be a $10 again.

Oh, no. The $10s --

The $10s and the $5s can be broken in half,

so a $20 can become two $10s or a $10 can become two $5s.

And this is only like these bills, these new bills, right?

Yeah, because they kind of got them --

the corporations were forced

to reduce the amount of paper that they used,

and then they kind of turned it around on banks.

So, the $10s and the $20s, you can hold up --

If you line them up and you just get them together,

you can rub the perforations.

And then you can use that as a $10.

No, that is crazy.

So, yeah, the $10s and $20s will do that.

Oh, that's amazing.

Yeah, they're healable perforations.

Okay.

Yeah. I'll get you a pamphlet on it so you can see how they work.

It's a bit hard to see,

but we actually made this official-looking sign

about the preferations.

Oh, perf-- perforations.

Oh, I did it again!

I want to rip it.

So, this security guard is none other than Derek Hughes,

an accomplished magician and member of our magic team.
