our sixth day of shooting, to be exact.

Back then, it was easier

to shoot more magic tricks in one day

because nobody ever recognized me during filming.

One of my favorite recurring tricks on the show

is when I duck down behind a counter

and pop back up with a completely different look.

In magic, that's called a quick change,

and this is the first-ever quick change

on "The Carbonaro Effect."

I know.

Very strange, but it's supposed to have

a very similar quality

to, like, a European bordeaux.

But there's no alcohol in it.

Hmm.

It's supposed to --

have you ever seen this famous French champagne?

Mnh-mnh.

It's supposed to have the same flavor

of this famous French champagne.

I wouldn't know anything about it, but...

Oh. Well, I like that one.

We had a lot of different ingredients

and stages to this trick,

and there was concern during rehearsal

that it was too complicated to pull off.

Luckily, nailed it on the first try.

I love the heavy styles, the triple and quadruples, and...

Early on in production, I realized that it's good for me

to leave people alone after a trick

so they can have an unfiltered reaction to what they just saw,

and as an added bonus, I'm able to sneak into the back

and look into a monitor

to see how they really feel about the trick.
