It's impossible to keep up with all the bizarre trends

when it comes to health and wellness, so we thought,

"What better place to trick people with weird new products

than a health-food and supplement store?"

So I've been trying this new thing.

You know golden matcha powder?

Yeah, of course.

The golden matcha powder

All right.

The inspiration for this came from one of our crew dinners,

when a producer called a cannoli "too fattening."

The kale cannoli was born.

Here, I'll show you how to make one.

-Okay. -It's great.

Just use a banana leaf and use a piece of gum tree.

-Interesting. -Okay?

A piece of gum tree goes in the center,

and a little bit of baling, hay straw.

And this is great, 'cause it's gluten-free,

and there's no sugar in it.

This is kale -- locally grown kale.

-Uh-huh. -Right.

And just a little bit of dried-dung fungus for flavor.

And, then, this is goji sand,

which is where goji berries are grown in.

-Huh. -So it acts as an emulsifier.

So it's kind of like nature's brick oven.

Hmm.

And it just gets rolled up like you would roll a cannoli.

Now, of course, you don't eat the banana paper.

-Okay. -Just like that.

A little bit of twine on it.

-You wrap it nice and tightly. -Uh-huh.

And you need a little bit of heat.

You could use like 100 watts, so you could use a lamp.

I use a heat lamp 'cause I think it goes a little bit faster.

-Uh-huh. -Put that on.

And just heat it over. Just for a few moments, really.

-Uh-huh. -And that's it.

It's not a lot of heat, but the goji sand

really absorbs the heat quickly.

-How interesting. -Show that to you here.

Unwrap it. And it's a healthy alternative.

And I'm not one for health foods,

but it comes out really good.

Well, now, what am I even seeing?

It's a kale cannoli.

Well -- Well, um...

This doesn't even look like what you put in there.

Now, this is what I call a pivot point in a trick.

Despite what he's seeing,

his mind is telling him that it can't be real.

and we can put it through the speedling process.

-Uh-huh. -Normally, when you're potting

something or putting it in the ground, you know,

it takes, depending on the time of year --

you know, it definitely takes a few weeks

before you even see a sprout.

But what makes speedlings different

is that instead of burying them deep,

you actually bury them, you know, two inches down.

So this is probably -- All of those little guys in there.

-So, that's this guy here. -Mm-hmm.

And it's kind of a shallow burial there.

Uh-huh.

That guy's reaction, "Uh-huh, uh-huh" --

that means either he's buying it totally

or he knows I'm full of it.

So I'm keeping things extra low-key here.

Just because it's shallow, and there's not a lot of light

in here, but they go pretty quick.

-Uh-huh. -And they'll sprout.

They're, like, instantly sprouting.

You see that?

That was from what you just planted?

Yeah. You'll just get a sprout.

But that first sprout makes it a lot easier.

If you're putting it around in your yard,

you know, the first sprout is the one --

'cause once the sun hits those...

-Right. -...they grow a lot faster.

That's fascinating.

And, then, at night, they'll go a little bit quicker.

So if you have -- You know, if you get them in darkness here,

the condensation, if it's a night like we had last night,

if it's rainy like this,

then you could get them in the dark,

'cause it makes, like, a humidity inside there, a trap.

Huh.

Take a few seconds and probably will --

Yeah, they go quick.

Yeah, this is a rapid, rapid release.

Um, the two upright rosemarys,

one the Tuscan, and the other the blue.

I initially objected to the concept of this trick

that smokes and catches on fire.

But, eventually, I warmed up to the idea.

because they're using them at cookouts and stuff

so you don't have to ignite stuff with dangerous chemicals.

They pot it with a -- It's like a mixture of eggshells,

sulfur, and volcanic ash,

and then I guess it sucks up through the leaves.

And then the little flowers...

You know, if you pluck them when they're ripe,

then the root, the juice from the --

Yeah, so they're like nature's --

I'm in love with this stuff.

You know, the one with the Jack on the side of the can?

They made -- Some guy who worked as a scientist

with like inner-ear stuff found this, like --

Can you feel that?

It's like a regular kind of clay substance,

but, like, if you go [Hums] near it,

it has like a --

Do you feel how it vibrates a little?

Yeah. So, what does it do?

It, like, picks up on sound frequencies.

This trick had such a big payoff,

we had to take our time to really build up to it.

Fortunately, she took the bait.

They're making all these toys in Switzerland,

that they use an electronic heart.

This piece involved way more than meets the eye.

Without giving away too much,

let's just say we needed to hire a very unique stunt actor

to play the role of our Teddy bear magician's assistant

to end up with a piece about a magical heart

that was really just bought off the shelf for about $3.

From such things, miracles are made.
