I was actually a bartender for a few summers,
but I'd forgotten most of what I knew.
Fortunately, I had a little bit of magical assistance.
Um, I think I will have a... vodka/pomegranate.
Vodka/pomegranate? Okay.
I'm gonna make that for you with the Liquor Light.
The Liquor Light? Liquor Light -- yeah.
I'll show you. It's really cool.
We're one of the first bars to have one of these.
And I call myself an experienced drinker -- okay.
Oh, yeah. We make the drink with a bottle of water.
Okay.
So the cubes are bottled water --
Yeah, so educate me. Yes.
And then, the drink is made with pure spring water.
Got it.
So, we pour just some water in there...
Very good. Yeah, and then, we use
the Liquor Light, which is this.
And, uh, what drink do you want?
Vodka/pomegranate.
A vodka/pomegranate?
Yeah. Okay.
Yeah.
I have to remember the code.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah -- wait. 5-5-6-9-1. Yeah.
And then, because it's made with the spring water
and the ice cubes are spring water...
And that's it.
Yep.
What? Yeah.
Taste that. Wait a minute.
It's a perfect pour.
What in the -- wait. How does it do that?
You never heard of that? Mnh-mnh.
Oh, yeah, yeah. It's all the rage now.
It's good, right?
Yeah.
And so it's, like, mixed perfectly every single time?
Every single time, because a bartender,
you know, we can make mistakes,
but the machine doesn't make mistakes.
So how does that work?
Well, you know, every liquid is water at its base.
Right. So what it does is
it takes the ions of the water
and changes them to whatever the coding ions
of whatever it needs to for the drink.
That is insane. Yeah.
For years, liquor companies have been --
you know, they just use the machine.
They, like, make up all these stories about,
like, distilling wines and putting things in barrels.
But that's all just water done with a machine.
I'm getting good at this. I'm freaked out.
Yeah. That's insane.
Yeah. Liquor Light.

Enjoy that. There you go.
Thank you.
We're always looking for creative ways
to activate the magical process in a scenario.
Sometimes it's heat or a sound or a spray, but in this case,
it's a light that runs on two double-A batteries.
Here's a never-before-seen look at my second attempt
at this trick.
And then...
there it is.
No way. Yeah.
A perfect screwdriver.
That is nuts.
Yeah, taste it.
There's no liquor in it, though.
Oh, yeah, there is.
How does it do that?
It reconfigures the water into a perfect pour.
What they do is, they take real liquor
and they look at its digital makeup.
Yep. And then, they program
the light to take the water and reconfigure it
to the same digital makeup as the liquor.
So, there's no difference. How's it taste?
It tastes... It's really good, right?
It's tastes very good, yeah. Yeah.
Now, what...
But the orange juice is obviously not
real orange juice.
Well, it's the same chemical composition as orange juice.
Okay.
They make me test the hot sauces.
Do you like spicy stuff?
Oh, yeah, I love hot stuff. Do you really?
Yeah, they got this stuff -- Mexican Devil Tears.
They import it from Ecuador or something.
