[Debbie] The Incoherents
aren't unknown,

though not un-young
band from New York City.

A mainstay of the downtown
scene in the early '90s,

they mysteriously disbanded after one
self-released album, "Irrational Devotion,"

an LP brimming with
wit and wisdom,

that bridges the gap between
classic and punk rock.

Let's do it.

[Debbie] Suddenly they have
re-emerged, looking to find their way

through a greatly changed
musical landscape.

This four-man unit with
their salt-and-pepper hair

and creased eye lines,
stands in great contrast

to the fresh-faced exuberants that are
normally on stage at your local rock club.

I recently sat down with
the band to talk about the past,

the future and the merits
of corn dogs.

Here's what they had to say.
