PREVIEW: Qiongqi Path, Qinghe (after Mt. Phoenix Crowd Hunt)

Lan Zhan.

If I must inevitably battle them,

I would rather fight you.

If I'm to die, at least

by Light Bearer's hands, no regrets.

The Untamed - Special Edition

Episode 10 FORKED ROAD

You all wonder why I carry no sword?

No difference if I told you.

I, Wei Wuxian, swordless,

with only 'evil tricks',

will rise unparalleled and leave you all behind.

Wei Wuxian, you're a servant's son.

Don't go wild!

Wei Ying, focus.

Wei Ying, focus.

A-Xian.

A-Xian.

Stand behind me.

Senior Sister.

A-Li, don't be angry.

Let them handle their business.

Master Jin, you just said

A-Xian alone seized a third of Mt. Phoenix prey

and boldly defied rules.

I...I hadn't known of this.

It may have caused troubles.

I apologise to all for him.

Senior Sister!

Lady Jiang, you're indeed polite and proper.

Your Bro acted improperly

and made trouble.

Yet, for Lady Jiang and Leader Jiang’s sake,

no apology is needed.

Jiang Sect and Jin Sect

were as close as brothers.

But, though I hadn't been to a Hunt before, I know one thing.

In all Night-Hunts,

no rule forbade taking too much prey.

You said A-Xian broke rules.

Which rule did he flout?

Lady Jiang, your words aren't right.

Some rules are unwritten

but everyone clearly understands

and follows them properly.

Correct. What's the total prey?

Even 500?

How many hunters? Over 5000!

We compete for prey. If he kept so much prey,

what to do?

It's not his fault you can’t get prey.

Skills count.

A-Xian's different method

is a skill he trained.

Because you can't get prey,

his way isn't crooked.

Besides, hunting is hunting. Why mention discipline?

A-Xian is our Sect disciple raised as our Brother.

‘Servant's son'?! I don't accept this. And so…

I hope Master Jin Zixun

gives Jiang Sect Wei Wuxian an apology.

A-Li, it's trivial. Don't be mad.

Madam Jin, A-Xian is my Brother.

For me, a humiliation to him... isn't trivial.

Zixun. You heard?

Aunt!

- Brother. - Wangji, why are you here?

Everyone, what happened?

What happened? Smiling at this mess.

See the Hunt you organised. Useless!

Mother, what's up?

What do you think? Can't see for yourself?

Can't you read a situation?

One-third of prey is gone.

What will people here hunt?

Fragrance Lord (Guangyao) is expanding it. Everyone, be calm.

This Hunt is a farce.

Skip it. I quit!

Zixun, I'm fixing it.

Wait an hour at most.

Master Jin.

Master Jin, no need to go.

The Hunt lost fairness.

Why'd I wait? I'm off.

Master Jin! Master Jin!

Madam Jin, I troubled you.

A-Li, you never trouble me.

This brat upset you. If you're mad, I'll beat him.

No need.

Madam Jin, I'm leaving.

No. Go to the viewing tower— with Zixuan.

- Zixuan. - No need to bother.

I...

I'll get Wei Wuxian to escort me.

A-Li, you and Wei Wuxian being alone together isn't proper.

A-Xian is my Brother.

A-Li, your mom was my close friend.

Forgive my words.

You and Wei Wuxian are no longer kids.

Being often alone together will provoke rumours.

His resentment is strong.

Maybe he'll act wickedly.

I advise you, stay away from him.

Madam, A-Xian is my Bro.

I won't stay away from him.

You're mad at my son?

If so, I'll discipline him.

Truly no need.

Madam, don't force him.

I didn't force him.

Madam Jin.

Don't trouble Childe Jin.

We should go.

Excuse us, Madam Jin!

A-Li!

Zixuan, go after her!

Lady Jiang! Wait.

It's not as you think. It's not, Lady Jiang.

It's not.

It's not Mom's intent.

I wasn't forced, not at all.

It was me. I invited you. I...

Zixuan!

Silly boy, why run away?

Childe.

Childe.

A-Li, come to Golden Koi Tower.

At the banquet, I'll make him apologize to you.

Let's go.

Senior Sister.

It's fine, Xian Xian.

Alright.

Then, I leave it to Madam Jin.

Lotus Pier won out.

Their Nets got most ghouls. Cultivators will flock to them.

Yes, what to do? We lack Wei Wuxian.

No good having him. I won't want him troubling me.

I heard Wei Wuxian's treasure, Tiger Seal,

- is Stygian Iron. - Huh?

What? The lost Shard?

I overheard Fragrance Lord. It's speculation

but if it's Stygian Iron, what a coincidence.

One Shard is lost. Wei Wuxian has Tiger Seal.

I guess Wei Wuxian took it.

Could be. Wei Wuxian is bold.

I'll avoid Night-Hunts with Jiang Sect.

It isn't Jiang Sect. It's all Wei Wuxian.

At Sunshot, they relied on him and got fame.

Skip it. Go!

Go! Go!

Scat, stinky beggar.

[ Golden Koi Tower ]

Wangji, I noticed you're tense.

Is something worrying you?

Brother, I...

I want to take someone back to Cloud Recesses.

Take someone back to Cloud Recesses?

Take him back and hide him.

Hide him?

I fear he'll be unwilling.

[ Golden Koi Tower ]

This is no place for you.

Who let you in?

Forgive me, I...

Su She?

Entry ways are complex. Master Su got lost.

You turn up everywhere?

Second Bro, Light Bearer, please.

Follow me.

- You remember me? - Sure, why won't I?

We've met before.

Su Minshan, Childe Su.

Your sword skills are great.

At Nevernight banquet, I was thinking

it's a pity a young talent hasn't visited us.

I'm glad you did come.

Please, this way.

- Big Bro. -This way.

Sect Leader Su, please sit.

Second Bro.

A-Yao, you invited Su She?

Yes. After Sunshot, sects rebuilt.

Leader Su set up a sect in Moling, his hometown.

It took a few months.

It's good to see his talent.

A-Yao, don't you know Su She...

Childe, you're unaware. Leader Su was a Lan Sect outer disciple.

His sect set up after Sunshot.

Second Bro, I didn't know until now...

No blame.

Being uninformed has no blame.

I'll refill your cups.

Bro Jiang, sit here.

Come, Bro Jiang.

Fellow Cultivators, Mt. Phoenix Crowd Hunt was grand.

All prey was the strongest.

Yunmeng Jiang Sect captured the most prey.

Congrats, Leader Jiang. How meritorious.

We can't claim all merit. We'll share it with sects here.

Thanks for inviting us.

- Leader Jiang is considerate. - Yes.

Leader Jiang is heroic like his dad.

Come. Drink.

Leader Lan, Light Bearer. A toast to each of you!

Zixun. Lord Zewu and Light Bearer are from Cloud Recesses

with 3000 rules.

Rather than ask them to drink...

Jin and Lan Sects are like family.

If the two brothers don't drink, they're spurning me.

What a bold move!

A worthy Cultivator!

Save the words, Leader Lan. Our sects aren't strangers.

Don't treat me as a stranger.

Tell me. Drink? Or not drink?

They must sword-fly back.

Drinking affects sword-riding.

A cup won't affect them.

After eight bowls,

I can sword-fly in the sky.

Good.

Light Bearer, it's your turn.

Here.

I'll drink it for him.

Childe Wei.

Just now.

Why come so late?

Come, sit.

No need. I've an urgent question for Master Jin.

May I have a word?

If you want to talk, do it after the banquet.

How long to wait?

Six to 8 hours

or 8 to 10 hours.

Or maybe tomorrow.

I can't wait so long.

You must.

Wei Wuxian!

Childe Wei, is it urgent to talk to Zixun?

Very urgent, no time to delay.

Come, Leader Lan. Drink again.

Okay, I'll say it here.

Master Jin, do you know Wen Ning?

I don't.

You'd know Wen Ning.

Night-Hunting in Ganquan,

you chased an 8-wing bat king to Wen remnants' abode,

a place of captivity. You took away Wens.

Bro Wen was leading them.

If I don't know him, I don't.

I've no time for a Wen-dog's name.

Fine. I don't mind giving details.

You couldn't catch the bat king

and ran into Wen Clan guys who were investigating it.

You forced them to carry Spirit Lure Flags as live baits.

They dared not.

One stammering guy argued.

That's Wen Ning.

After delay, the bat king got away.

You brutally beat that Wen group, took them away by force,

and they disappeared.

Need more details?

They didn't return. Who to ask but you?

Wei Wuxian, you want him back?

You defend those dogs?

Not your business if I stand up for him.

Hand him over.

Wei Wuxian, you act too impudently here.

Think you're invincible and no-one will confront you?

Want to overturn Heaven?

You consider this is Heaven?

Excuse me, you're too brazen.

It's not a big deal.

You youths love to argue.

But be fair.

Today you barged into Lanling Jin Sect banquet.

That's improper.

Leader Jin, it's unintended. Apologies.

Master Jin took people now missing.

Any delay, it may be too late.

I owe that person my life.

I can't stand by.

Forgive me. I'll make amends.

That issue can wait.

Come, sit. I'll talk to you leisurely.

Wei Wuxian, what are you doing?

Thanks, no—this can't wait. Please resolve it.

Don't rush.

There are things unresolved between us.

Since you're here,

I'll take this chance to clear it up.

Clear up what?

Childe Wei, I raised this before.

You forgot?

At Sunshot, you used an object.

Stygian Tiger Seal.

Is there a problem?

You used its Stygian-like power once in battle.

It's harmful force hurt a few Cultivators.

Please, get to the point.

This is the point—

4 Shards; 3 found, 1 missing.

This Seal is too powerful under one person's control.

You hold that object. I'm afraid...

Leader Jin, what do you imply?

Okay, I'll ask you a question.

Leader Jin, do you think, with Qishan Wen Sect gone,

Lanling Jin Sect will replace it?

Everything goes to you? Everyone listens to you?

Seeing how Jin Sect does things,

I almost thought it's Wen Sect.

Wei Wuxian, what did you say?

I said something wrong?

At Nevernight, you took revenge.

Now you force people to be live bait and beat them.

How's it unlike Wen Sect?

Wei Ying.

It's different.

Wen Sect did evil. They deserve this.

Let them eat bitter fruit. How's it wrong?

Punish whoever bit you.

Wen Qing and Wen Ning's hands shed no blood.

You're finding them guilty by association?

Wen Sect killed many. Why show them mercy?

Pity I killed too few of them.

You kill innocents casually.

If I kill you today, is it justice?

You!

- Wei Wuxian! - Wei Ying!

Childe Wei, don't overdo it. Let's discuss things.

Wei Wuxian, Leader Jiang is here.

Will you be so reckless?!

If I want to kill someone, who can stop me?

Who dares stop me!

Wei Ying, let go of Chenqing.

Jin Zixun!

You'd know

my patience is limited.

I wasted so much time on you.

I'll count for three.

Three.

Two.

Fine, fine.

It's only a few Wens. Take them.

I won't bother with you.

Find them at Qiongqi Path.

Look at you. Say so earlier.

Go die.

Father, be calm.

A-Yao.

Are you okay?

I'm fine. Second Bro, sit.

Go and change clothes.

I can't leave.

Childe Wei is too rash.

How can he say those things publicly?

Was he wrong?

Right, it's right.

Because it's right, he can't say it to our faces.

Childe Wei's heart has changed.

Go.

Do your best.

He won't let us punish Wens?

In front of many sects.

Leader Jiang said nothing. Wei did?

- Let's go. - Yeah, go.

Leader, we...

Granny.

Granny.

Granny...

Granny.

Where's Uncle Four's group and A-Ning?

A-Ning.

Lady Qing.

Halt!

Who let you in?

I seek someone.

Guy or ghost, who cares? Go! Or I...

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

See A-Ning?

Did you see A-Ning?

See A-Ning?

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

See A-Ning?

Where's A-Ning?

A-Ning! A-Ning!

Where's A-Ning?

See A-Ning?

See A-Ning?

Know where A-Ning is?

Call everyone over!

Where are Wen Cultivators sent here recently?

Where are newly arrived Wen Cultivators?

One of them stammers.

Seen him?

All Wens are here.

All recent arrivals are here.

I know he must be here.

People often ask for Cultivators.

I think he ran off.

He won't run off.

Granny's here.

A-Ning won't flee alone.

You said everyone's here.

Th-th... they're all here.

All are here?

Fine.

I'll believe—

everyone alive is here.

Where are the rest?

Childe, spare me. I'll talk.

Wen corpses are in the valley.

We do as we're told. Don't blame us.

Take us there.

There...there, ahead.

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning...

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning...

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

A-Ning!

(Protective Talisman from Wei Ying)

Well, they found him?

What else? Master Jin left him there days ago.

He'd be dead and stinking.

Why stand here?

Awaiting Wei Wuxian and that Wen girl?

Go!

Wait. Master Jin said to watch those Cultivators.

If we go and they flee....

Do our lives or theirs matter?

Kill the rest

so they can't dob us in.

Why wait? Let's kill them.

Childe, have mercy.

Childe, have mercy.

Childe, have mercy.

You speared bodies with Black Flags.

What evil were you luring?

You even practise demonic Cultivation?

Who killed them?

Childe Wei, don't say that.

- No-one kills people. - Yes.

- They were careless and fell in. - Yes.

No-one kills people?

Right, right. It's true.

No lies at all.

Oh, I see.

Because Wen Sect aren't people to you,

no-one here kills people—

That's your meaning, right?

Think I don't see your lies?

Yunmeng Jiang Sect and Lanling Jin Sect are on good terms.

Childe Wei, you can't...

You're brave.

Threatening me?

- No, no, no. - No.

Childe, have mercy.

Since you won't admit it,

let him verify it himself.

Childe, have mercy.

Mercy. Childe Wei, mercy.

Mercy, Childe.

Childe Wei, mercy. Mercy, mercy.

Childe Ning.

A-Ning!

Don't.

How can this be?

Wen Ning's not under control?

Don't.

Wen Ning!

Don't.

Wei Wuxian.

Stop now!

A-Ning isn't dead.

Just his spiritual cognition is gone.

Wen Ning!

Wen Qionglin!

What occurred?

Someone saved him. He revived and killed.

(Wen Clan captives)

What's going on?

Everyone on a horse. Hurry!

Childe Wei, this—

No time to explain.

Mount and go.

Let's go.

Go.

Go.

Lan Zhan.

You'd stop me?

Wei Ying.

Where are you going?

Don't know.

The world is wide.

There must be a place for us.

Reconsider. If you go,

you desert the righteous path

with no way back.

Desert the righteous path?

What kind of righteousness?

Lan Zhan.

Recall my pledge made beside you.

I, Wei Wuxian, will purge evil, aid the weak, in good conscience.

I wished to purge evil, aid the weak.

But who's strong or weak, right or wrong?

Wei Ying!

This pledge is meant to be lifelong.

I regret not stopping the Jins using live bait in the Crowd Hunt.

Then Wen Ning won't meet this end.

I missed a chance to save him.

This time, I won't back down.

Besides...

I must save him.

Lan Zhan.

If I must inevitably battle them,

I would rather fight you.

If I'm doomed, at least I'd die in Light Bearer's hands.

No regret.

Hya!
