The Untamed - Special Edition

Episode 08 SUNSHOT CAMPAIGN

[ Nie Sect Leader - Nie Mingjue ]

As Wen Ruohan lost both sons, no-one leads his army.

His troops are isolated. We can march into Wen den.

Don't let your guard down.

Wen Ruohan's ace wasn't his sons.

It's Stygian Iron and puppets.

Lord Zewu is right.

Wen Ruohan massacred sects

because Stygian Iron lets him make puppets.

Today we need to discuss this.

How do we deal with Wen Ruohan's Stygian Iron?

Bro Wei.

Wei Wuxian.

Leader Nie, Wen Ruohan's Stygian Iron may be no concern.

How so?

Stygian Iron may have a counteractant.

Childe Wei, can you clarify.

Lord Zewu, I don't aim to conceal it.

In a month, you will know.

Childe Wei, why not carry your sword?

Don't feel like it.

Wangji, why is Childe Wei sure

he can counter Wen Ruohan's Stygian Iron in a month?

I do not know.

Regarding Stygian Iron, many elders failed.

I fear Childe Wei is overconfident.

Wangji, I've a question for you.

Deaths at Yiling Supervisory Office weren't due to Stygian Iron?

They were not. Brother, he will not do that.

Brother, does everything in the world have set rules?

I once thought that trying

to read all Lan Sect books would let me discern life's rules.

Then I realized, even if I read all the world's books,

there are many things in life I still won't understand.

Life has no set rules. No clear line separates right and wrong.

If we can't determine right from wrong, black from white,

how to judge a person's heart?

What makes us human lies in ourselves,

not in being judged as right or wrong.

Evaluating someone can't be by labels of right or wrong.

What's in a heart matters.

Childe Lan!

Lady Jiang.

You're seeking A-Xian?

Childe Lan.

I have questions for you.

This heretical path harms body and mind.

Then, what to do?

The sword path is righteous.

Talismans and spells aid Cultivation, but aren't a path.

Lan Zhan, what are you telling Senior Sister?

Wei Ying.

I recall saying

you should stay out of Jiang Sect business.

A-Xian, Childe Lan just...

A-Xian, what's wrong?

In worry about you, I asked Childe Lan.

Don't be angry.

Senior Sister, did Lan Zhan

tell you what occurred at Yiling Supervisory Office?

He said nothing.

Lan Zhan!

Lan Zhan, let me explain.

Lan Zhan, these months, your skills progressed.

You did not progress. Where's Suibian?

Lan Zhan, do you think this spot feels familiar?

In Cloud Recesses, we sat like this.

It was a fight.

Right, right, right...

I broke night curfew and you caught me.

Pity there's no Emperor's Smile now.

Things change. How can it be the same?

Lan Zhan, thank you.

For what?

Thanks for not telling Senior Sister.

These tricks harm body and heart.

I know.

But, Lan Zhan, I don't use Xue Chonghai's evil path.

I use Artful Path Method.

Artful Path? ('crafty path')

For 3 months, I learned it in a sunless, gloomy place.

But, in the end,

I must thank Lan Sect musical methods.

My Artful Path

studies music and talismans.

With a flute, control everything.

Artful Path depends on your state of mind?

Mastering it with the mind is very risky.

If unwary, evil can possess you.

It has unthinkable consequences.

I know.

Lan Zhan, I know your concern.

But I vow I'll never Cultivate demonically.

Believe me?

Let me help you.

Okay.

Qishan Wei Ruohan, Immortal Chief, annexed sects;

secretly used Stygian Iron; killed innocents.

Our people faced calamity.

Gods and men are angered!

Today I, Nie Mingjue, lead the army for justice.

Invade Nevernight.

Cut off Wen Ruohan's head to offer the souls of the dead!

Sunshot!

You didn't sword-fly?

I won't join Jiang Cheng's crowd with that peacock.

Do you not prefer crowd fun?

Childe, let's go! Or we'll be wiped out.

Let's go.

Run.

Let's go!

Let's go.

Go!

This method is effective.

Thanks, Chief.

( Langya - Sunshot camp )

Leader Nie.

That attack on Nevernight led to heavy losses.

It was my misjudgement,

underrating Stygian Iron.

Yes, when Childe Jin and I attacked Qishan foot,

the puppets seemed invincible, even attacking with lost limbs.

If Stygian Iron power is inexhaustible,

how to invade Nevernight?

Yes, even thousands of troops

can't fight invincible things.

Since storming in won't work,

in my opinion,

kill the leader to catch the gang.

Leader Nie, you mean...

I'll sneak in to kill Wen Ruohan.

Once he dies, puppets will lose control, then...

Leader Nie.

Killing him isn't easy. You can't risk it.

As Commander,

how can I let troops die in vain.

If I die,

Lord Zewu can take command.

Leader Nie.

Bro Mingjue.

I have an item to show everyone.

This is!

Qishan layout map.

[ Nevernight ]

Nie Mingjue.

You say my Stygian Iron is evil.

Today I'll show you prigs how powerful it is.

Leader Nie.

Long time no see.

[ Meng Yao ]

You...it's you!

( Red Blade Sabre - Baxia )

Trash.

Wen Xu was killed by him?

There's a good show outside this palace.

Meng Yao, you scripted this show.

Won't you see it?

Childe Wei, what now? We charge in?

So many puppets!

This many puppets

Wen Ruohan hurt many people.

Lan Zhan, do you know a way

to let us win?

Risk it all.

Why?

Why no movement?

Who is it? Who!

It's you.

Leader Wen, well met.

Where'd you get your Shard?

I've been "dead" once.

We, of course, came from hell.

Leader Wen, my Spiritual Tool was recently created.

No-one's seen it.

What item controls Stygian Iron?

Leader Wen, my refined Tool isn't Stygian Iron.

It's called...Stygian...Tiger...Seal.

Stygian Tiger Seal

Wei Ying.

( soft sword: Hensheng/regret life )

Wei Ying.

Wens are dead. We won!

Victory!

The sun has finally fallen.

Bro Mingjue.

Xichen.

You finally woke.

Hand me my sabre.

Leader Nie, let me explain.

Brother Mingjue.

Leader Nie, you're injured.

Xichen, don't interfere.

If you'd been me

I won't!

Bro Mingjue.

- Xichen, move! - Be calm.

Lord Zewu!

Bro Mingjue.

Bro Mingjue, why be like this?

Why be like this?

When he left Qinghe,

I got no news of him. So he became a Wen-dog!

Bro Mingjue.

Do you know who provided Qishan Tactical Map?

Do you know who was our inside informant?

Don't doubt it. Today, due to A-Yao's information,

Wangji and I rushed here.

I trusted him.

He plotted to distract Wen Ruohan

to kill him.

Him?

Bro Mingjue. After the Qinghe incident,

A-Yao felt remorse

and feared meeting you.

When I fled from Cloud Recesses, he saved my life.

After that, he entered Wen Sect

to approach Wen Ruohan. He secretly wrote to me.

At first, I didn't know who wrote to me. Later,

I knew from clues in his letters.

You told him none of this?

Lord Zewu, you saw.

In this situation, even if I explained,

Leader Nie wouldn't believe me.

A-Xian.

A-Xian, you woke. Any discomfort?

Senior Sis, what time is it?

You slept three days.

- A-Xian. - Three days?

Where's Jiang Cheng? Lan Zhan?

Don't fret. They're safe.

A-Xian, now Wen Sect is purged,

no worries.

It's vital that you rest.

When you were unconscious,

A-Cheng and Childe Lan worried a lot.

Even Leader Jin visited you.

Jin Guangshan?

After Wen Sect ended, Leader Jin rushed from Lanling.

He said he'd pursue Wen dregs.

Wasn't at Sunshot. Now he's keen.

A-Xian, backbiting is wrong.

Yes, Senior Sister.

Don't rise.

Childe Lan said Tiger Seal ate spiritual energy.

Rest more days.

Senior Sister.

You know?

Didn't know you're this great.

But don't casually use Tiger Seal.

Childe Lan said it harms power and mind.

Childe Lan, Childe Lan. Today, why's it 'Childe Lan'?

He won't say so much.

You're not serious.

As you lay unconscious,

Childe Lan, morning and evening, played qin to calm your mind.

Else you won't wake so soon.

It's likely Childe Lan.

Lady Jiang.

Childe Lan.

Truly thanks to you

Xian woke up so soon.

You chat. I'll tend the wounded.

Lan Zhan, actually I

Sit quietly. Meditate.

Lan Zhan, I'm better.

Three more days.

I'm truly better. See!

Exorcise evil, calm the mind.

Exorcise evil?

I don't need exorcism. I'm exhausted.

Wei Ying.

Lan Zhan, you believe Tiger Seal is evil?

And disturbs the mind?

In this world, is there really an insentient object

that alters a person's mind

from righteous to evil, from white to black?

Kill!

- Don't kill me! - Kill'em all!

Chasing people?

- Don't let'em go! - Killing Wen dregs.

- Where are the Shards? - Kill them!

- Destroyed. - Stop them.

Kill! Where are you running?

Leader Lan, chasing Wen scum is trivial.

Zixun will do it.

But I just heard female voices.

Catching Wen dregs

needn't include defenceless families.

Xichen.

I know you've a kind heart.

Wen Sect ended

but its guests and servants abound.

We gained victory

but if they catch us unawares,

they may fight for Wen Sect.

Leaders, Nevernight dregs are caught.

Please judge them.

A-Yao, what's your opinion about the dregs?

I interrogated the ones here.

No Shard was found.

Most are family members with no spiritual power.

Why not confine old, weak and kids

to prevent trouble.

And execute these ones who killed our Cultivators.

But where to confine them?

Wen Sect has Qiongqi Path,

an ancient valley road

secure, hard to attack.

Why not keep them there?

You know it well.

Do as A-Yao said.

A-Yao, don't mind him.

Brother Mingjue abhors evil.

He fears you went astray.

Abhors evil...

So I'm evil?

I...I didn't mean that.

Lord Zewu, take no notice.

I followed Leader Nie so long. I know his intent.

I don't take it to heart.

Lord Zewu, go with Leader Nie.

I'll manage.

Okay.

Bring them in.

Lan Zhan, of people here,

who is righteous or evil, right or wrong?

Wei Ying, focus.

Would you learn 'Lucidity'?

Lan Zhan, you suggest 'Lucidity'?

You too don't trust me.

How did you get Tiger Seal?

Lan Zhan. If I say, in Xuanwu Cave,

I found a Stygian Iron sword, believe it?

When?

When Xuanwu was killed.

When did you refine it?

Recently.

Why refine Stygian Iron?

Lan Zhan, enough.

You promised I can help you.

But if you distrust me, how can you help me?

Tiger Seal is unorthodox.

If the mind is unstable, control is lost.

Lan Zhan, you fear I'll be like Wen Ruohan under Stygian Iron control.

But Tiger Seal isn't Stygian Iron

and I am not Wen Ruohan.
