Die Mietskaserne,

was published in 1931 under
the pen name Ernst Erich Noth.

The book was publicly burned
by the Nazis on May 10, 1933.

Paul Krantz went into exile
on March 5, 1933.

After the events portrayed here,

a veritable witch hunt
was instigated against Hilde Scheller.

The suggestive reporting of the trial
