Previously on Tempting Fortune, the 12 fortune seekers continued
their gruelling 13-day trek through the Malaysian jungle
to take home whatever's left of a 300 grand fortune.
To keep the money intact,
they must resist spending it on tantalising temptations.
It's a Greggs!
Because whatever they spend...
Steak bake. Steak bake?
...comes off the group's prize pot.
Is this going to happen every time, do you think?
It's like the lid coming off the Pringle can.
An already divided camp was split in two...
Are you happy with your teams? Yes.
...as they trek towards the ultimate party temptation.
Full moon party!
The two groups went to war in a bid-off...
One of us has got to stop it. Stop!
...with Kieran stopping at a whopping 33 grand.
It's us against them now.
The disgruntled losers headed back to camp...
Home, sweet home!
...where Nico receives some upsetting news.
There's significant injury there.
Hey, guys, got some news.
As you all know, I had a leg injury,
but it's progressively got worse because I fell yesterday on my knee.
I've spoken to the doctor, and they basically said,
because they don't know how much damage I've actually done
in my knee, that I need an X-ray.
Oh! Because of that,
due to the treks, I have to be withdrawn.
Oh, no! Nico!
Thank you for making the experience what it was
and for supporting me and getting me through it,
because it actually meant a lot. And, um...
Oh! Nico!
You are a legend. You're a legend.
Thank you, man, for being there for me.
Thank you. Oh, my God, Nico!
SHE SOBS
I feel shit for him.
It's just shit. It's just shit,
because he deserves to be here more than anyone.
Good luck with the baby and everything, all right?
He's just been so calm throughout the whole thing.
Not even had a go at anyone
or got involved in anything dramatic.
Just getting on with it, not complaining.
And please just be kind to one another, OK?
And do it for me. Finish it together for me.
Thank you.
THEY APPLAUD
He's one of the few people I've really bonded with.
He's been my co-chef,
my hiking inspiration.
He sleeps opposite me, snores like a pig! But I don't mind,
cos I love him. And hearing that he couldn't finish the hike
and knowing how much this meant to him, it's just crushed me.
We love you!
See you later, guys.
I'm not too stubborn to take the help.
HE LAUGHS
I'd be absolutely lying to you if I said that I wasn't gutted
that I'm not going away with a piece of the fortune.
Because I did say I came here to lose some pounds
and take some pounds away with me.
But wealth is important, but health is more important.
The experience has changed how I look at life,
because I can resist temptations. I don't need to have junk food.
I don't need to have all of these things that we have.
There's a lot more beauty and appreciation
for, actually, the simpler things in life.
He's done what he wants to do.
He's lived by, you know, his decisions. Yeah.
So he can be proud of himself.
He's lived his truth. We're going to miss him.
We should be grateful for every day we've got left,
because it can all end so quickly, as Nico has shown.
So just suck in the last moments that we've got
and make sure every moment counts. Yeah.
Maybe we should all form as a team instead of separating off in groups.
Yeah. All try and get along.
The rules state that if anyone quits of their own accord,
their £25,000 share is deducted from the prize pot,
along with a £5,000 penalty.
But because Nico is leaving on medical advice,
the penalty doesn't apply.
Sadly, he leaves without a share of the fortune.
I feel like the group's actually going to come closer
now Nico's gone, because people realise
that one minute something's there, the next minute it's gone,
so hopefully it brings us together.
After Nico's shock departure,
emotions within the group are running high,
but with only days left in the jungle,
we might just have the thing to pick them back up.
I'm going to give them the chance to call home.
It may just be the boost they need,
or it could turn them into complete emotional wrecks.
And it's going to cost them £150 per minute.
Hopefully the Wi-Fi works.
First to face the temptation, Yvonne.
"International calls charged at 150 per minute.
"First 30 seconds are free."
I'm really down because of Nico's news.
He was such a good friend to me,
but from day one I've said I don't want to take temptations,
so I'm going to take the free 30 seconds.
Hi, guys!
Hi! Hi!
I miss you guys.
How are you doing?
Well, the food is so bad, even you couldn't eat that.
It's so bad, honestly.
I've only got 30 seconds free, Kiki.
I miss you guys, but I'm surviving.
It's really hard for me.
Honestly, I'm really struggling.
But I will see you soon, OK?
I will see you soon. Bye.
SHE SOBS
This was the worst thing.
I didn't realise how hard it was going to be.
I really missed them.
I told them about the awful food and they thought it was funny.
It was really hard to just end there, 30 seconds.
My children signed me up for this and one of the things they said was,
"Mum, do not waste money whilst you are here."
And I felt like if I had gone on and gone back home
to tell them how much I paid for the call,
I feel like my son especially will be disappointed in me.
So Yvonne managed to stay within the free time.
But will the rest of them show the same willpower
when faced with their nearest and dearest?
Hiya, love! You OK?
Yeah. How you doing?
Tough.
Brilliant. We're so proud of you.
It's really, really tough.
I love you both.
I'm crying because I'm just so happy. Are you all right?
Yeah. Everybody's fine.
Don't worry. I've got to hurry up,
because they're charging me.
Make sure you do it. You're fabulous!
I will.
I love you. I'll do it. I'll do it.
I promised my group that I wouldn't spend any more money
and I'd try to get to the end now without spending,
even at the sacrifice of my family.
I've not spent a penny over.
And it's killed me. You all right, love?
Yeah. It were really good.
Really good.
Bet she's just done ten minutes. Huh?
I bet she's done ten minutes. Yeah.
I don't want to take any more money from the group fund,
so I'm just going to take the first 30 seconds.
Hello! How are you, Mum? I'm good. Nice to see you.
Yeah! You look very nice. It's that dress that I bought you,
so you look very nice in it.
I've got 30 seconds free!
How are you all? How's it going? It's amazing.
I took £3,000 out of the ATM.
Oh! Yeah, fuck it.
I love you, I miss you.
We miss you so much. Have you felt any temptations?
Yeah. But we'll talk about them when I'm out,
because I haven't got time to speak about that.
Can you believe I've spent £400 and had one temptation?
What?! HE LAUGHS
'Ey up! How are you?
Mum... I don't know how you've got this working, Mum.
You're on mute. SHE SPEAKS SILENTLY
Ah!
Mum, I can't hear you.
OK, I've got to go. Bye. Love you. Bye.
OK.
I'm happy!
Right. I'm gonna go. Love you.
Bye! God bless. Bye, bye, bye.
Love you. Bye.
Proud of you!
So I'll tell you that I love you so much.
Bye. You too. Take care.
Aw.
This is a hard experience.
And so being away from loved ones is a really hard part of it.
Oh, best thing ever. Yeah.
I went over by 25 minutes.
Joking!
So far, nine of the fortune seekers have stuck to the free 30 seconds.
Last to face their phone calls are Tierney and Kieran.
"£150 per minute.
"First 30 seconds are free." OK.
OK. OK.
Like, since the start,
I didn't think I was going to miss my family this much,
and I've thought about them every day.
And, erm... yeah, I can't promise it'll be 30 seconds.
SHE SOBS
Wait, can you hear us? Can you hear us?
Oh, my God! Can you hear me?
I've got 30 seconds.
But it's fine, because if it's up,
I'll just spend 150 quid.
Just tell us... Oh, my God.
How's it been? It's been unbelievable. I just love...
I love you so much!
Oh, Mam, how are you doing?
Grandma is absolutely fine.
Sends all her love and she's so proud of you.
We're so proud of you, darling.
Oh, shit. I'm into the minute. It's... Fuck it, it's fine.
I'll spend 150 quid. I don't fucking care.
Oh, yeah, good. That's nowt, man.
Love you, darling. Love you so much. Love you!
Love you. Love you! I love you.
Bye!
My grandma's fine.
Everyone's fine.
Oh!
It was 150 quid.
Fuck it. I don't care.
I could not have put a price on that
if I even tried.
That was worth every penny and more.
Coming on this experience, I have sacrificed a lot.
Leaving my partner with my baby at home, which is not ideal.
I'm nervous.
"International calls charged at £150 per minute.
"First 30 seconds are free."
I've missed 'em. Can't wait to get back.
All right? 13 days here feels like six months.
How's it going? Really good. Oh, don't make me cry!
I'll waste my time. I've only got 30 seconds.
He was wide awake! I was literally, like, trying
to keep him awake so you could see his blue eyes.
Awww! He's loving it. He's good.
He's put some weight on. You must be feeding him!
Got some good news. I've already banked 10,000,
which is great. Well done.
I'm gonna start crying. so I need to... Yeah.
You taken any temptations?
We'll talk about that when we get back, but...
Right. I've got to go. I love you, and I'll speak to you soon, yeah?
Love you. Love you. See you later. Bye. See you later. Bye-bye, bye.
That goes quick!
It was so hard to keep the emotions in.
Very, very, very difficult not to spend more time with her, but...
Best feeling ever. And was Leo awake on the call?
No, he was fast asleep! Just... like me at home!
Awww. I only did 30 seconds, though. Well done, mate.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Best feeling ever, isn't it? Yeah, best feeling ever.
It was amazing seeing their faces and hearing their voices.
That much love...
It means so much more than it ever will or has.
Just gives you that energy to get to the end, now, doesn't it? Yeah.
It's day 11 of the Fortune Seekers' 13-day journey.
PARROT SQUAWKS
Over the last ten days,
they've trekked a massive 70km through the Malaysian jungle.
Come on, guys, let's go.
But it's not over yet.
Fucking legs are gone already.
And the next leg of their journey comes with an added incentive.
Ah! Temptation.
Fuck's sake!
"Your group are about to begin
"the longest trek you have faced so far.
"A 7km route through dense jungle.
"If all of your group complete this trek in under four hours,
"you will unlock a special deal.
"To claim it, every member of your group must arrive
"within the four-hour time limit."
Looks like we're gonna have to work as a team today.
Fist bump.
OK, guys, we've got four hours.
Come on, guys, we can do this.
Oh, God. My legs are burning already.
Oh, my God!
I'll never moan about walking my dog around the block ever again. No!
To reach their next temptation,
the fortune seekers will have to navigate
some of Langkawi's most treacherous terrain.
Be careful of your ankles with these rocks.
Not easy when you're up against the clock.
Careful, because it's quite slippy here. Ooh! Oh!
Yeah... Are you all right? Yeah.
Ahhh! Oh! Whoa!
Oh! Thank you.
Oh, you're twisting my fucking melons, man!
The British Army'd struggle with this.
I could have joined up by now!
There'd better be summat waiting at the end of this.
If it's a bleeding hairbrush
or a bleeding packet of crisps,
I'm going to be absolutely bleeding fuming.
Ahhh!
If they can get through the next 5km,
their hunger levels will be off the charts.
But there's hope on the horizon.
After almost two weeks of barely surviving on rice and beans,
things are about to get fired up with the teppanyaki experience.
I'm talking steak, chicken, fish, ice-cold beers -
all the flavours they've been starved of.
Let's have a bit, mate.
One of Southeast Asia's top chefs is waiting
to serve up the dining experience of a lifetime.
But if they want the mouthwatering discount,
they'll need to get to the restaurant in time.
Ohhh! I'm so hot.
It is absolutely boiling.
And the hunger is kicking in.
Two hours into their trek,
and the group have only made it a third of the way.
We need to pick the pace up a little bit
to guarantee that we're going to make it.
What do you think's coming up, then, guys?
I hope it's an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Nice juicy medium-rare steak.
What do you think about some of the people last night
that said they wouldn't take any more temptations?
I think they shouldn't take it,
because last night they said we had the beach party,
we need to not spend another penny.
And they all went, "Yep, yep, we all agree. We all agree."
THEY CHEER
After bidding over 33 grand on a full moon party...
10% of the prize fund in one night.
...Kieran's group vowed to kerb their spending.
So if another temptation comes up, are yous going to take it?
No. I just wanted to experience one thing.
I'm not taking another temptation. That's me now, to the end.
I'm done with temptations 100% now. Yeah.
Yeah. I had a Greggs, yeah, I had fish and chips
and I had two things in t'pound shop.
that comes to £1,000.
They've spent £33,000 on a beach party.
I think it's time they calmed down,
recognise they've drained the pot and leave with some dignity.
I want us to get to the next temptation,
and it would be fair for the five of us
that didn't go to the full moon party
to hold back the other group
and make them really question
whether they should be sitting out of this one,
given they've spent so much money already.
It's been so long since I took a temptation.
I've only done two, so I would really appreciate
if the six that went on the beach didn't take it.
They've just blown 33 grand out of budget.
It's frustrating when so many people take and take and
I've given my all to help the team.
So, yeah, I just want to be a bit more selfish, really.
Come on, guys, we've going to keep going.
Can't afford to drop the pace.
With less than an hour to go, 1.5km still lie between the group
and their next temptation.
To unlock the special deal,
all 11 of them need to finish the trek in time.
Guys, you do realise that Sam and Sarah are right at the back?
We need to wait. Otherwise it's kind of pointless.
Yeah, because we've got to all get there as one group, don't we?
Otherwise it doesn't count.
I need a bleeding oxygen tank, never mind that!
Hi, guys. Come on, guys, you're doing well.
We've waited for you because we all want to be together.
So we said whether you two want to go to the front
and, like, set the pace? Sarah?
No, honestly, you'll just overtake me.
I keep stopping. No, we won't. We've got to go at your pace.
I'm fine where I am.
We've all got to cross the finish line together.
So just wait for me at the finish line.
OK, guys, time to go. On my way, boss.
Sarah's insisted on staying at the back.
At least she's making the effort to do it.
But we do have a time limit.
I know they all want to fake friend me now,
but they want me to hurry up
so they can be greedy little shits again and take whatever's on offer.
Spend more bleeding money.
Not through concern of me.
And now they want me to go up front. Piss off!
They're greedy and they want it all.
Right. Ow!
Sarah!
We're coming! Fuck off!
We're going fast! Piss off! Go! Go, go!
Well done, guys!
Come on! Come on, come on, come on. Go, go, go.
Come on! We can do it!
Got to be close now. Thing is, have we made it in time?
Is that helping? Yeah.
Guys! We're here! We're here!
Run, run! Come on, everyone! Go, go, go, go! Fucking run!
We can make it still.
They're running, but they've just spent 33 grand of our money.
I know. Look at them.
Look at them!
Oh, my God. You can smell it.
Everyone here? ALL CHEER
Oh, yeah! Oh! Oh, my God!
It smells amazing. Oh, my God! This is insane!
Get in! I'm starving!
It's really exciting
to have a Japanese in the middle of the jungle.
Who knew?
Having made it through the door in under four hours,
it's time to reveal their special offer.
"Welcome to the Teppanyaki Experience.
"For completing the trek in under four hours,
"you have unlocked the Early Bird special."
CHEERING
So... Hold on.
"Your chef is ready to bring the theatre,
"the flames and cook the best meal you have had in weeks."
Woo!
Wow! Sounds lovely.
"The price for this experience is..."
"..£100 per person."
Oh, guys!
100 quid? That's a yes for me.
Guys who weren't in our full moon party,
how do you lot feel about this?
Er... So, guys, the food smells amazing.
So I'm wanting to say yes to this one.
Sarah? Yes. Yes. So it's a yes for me as well.
Oh, I love that. Jack?
Yeah, I'm saying yes to this. So, group B, have we decided?
If you do it, I'll do it.
I'm doing it. So our group have decided.
For the five who missed out on the £33,000 full moon party,
it's a yes.
I want to know your guys' feelings.
How would you feel if we was to sit here and eat with you guys?
You said you were taking nothing else at all.
Yeah. For £100? Fuck off.
Are you going to be fair? Are you going to take it?
It's easy for people to say,
but can you back up those words with actions?
Some of you have, literally, taken every experience.
The yacht was an experience for you. The spa was an experience.
Everything has been experience from day one.
So, honestly, I want the people who missed the private
island to have this and not the other group.
You said you were taking nothing else at all.
Are you going to be fair? Are you going to take it?
Can you back up those words with actions?
Lo and behold, the guys that took the beach party,
the greedy little buggers, they sat there
waiting to be served and we thought, "This ain't happening."
Some of you have, literally, taken every experience.
But if Sarah's going to stay, she's taken everything.
Don't make me your excuse on this one.
I am not the biggest spender in this group.
If you guys don't want us to be here anyway.
Honestly, I would rather not. Let's go.
Right. I'm done. I'm done. I'm out. Fuck that.
You should leave too. You, give it a rest!
I'm not the biggest spender!
You should leave too. You took every temptation.
I'm not the biggest spender.
Her sitting at the table and
pointing at us and judging us
because we'd taken the full moon party,
when she's behaved in the same way with the temptations that she's done
but with a very bad attitude,
I had to say something to her.
Guys.
This was just me testing to see who will stay.
I'm happy for all of you to come back. No, I don't want to now.
I don't want to be at the table with her. No, seriously,
I want us to come back. I'm done.
Let's get that tent up.
Do our rice and beans. Yeah, I'm not having that.
Let's finish this. 100 quid and it's like...
That's fucking great value. Yeah.
But the way they treated us just now...
No. ..fuck that. Forget it. I'm not a fool.
You won't get that in London for £100.
Yvonne said they would
rather us not be there because we had taken temptations,
which is true. But I'm gutted because this was a
team-bonding experience that we could have done of one.
But when they kicked off like Chihuahuas,
I don't want to be in that environment
if they're going to be like that. I'd rather just be here.
Put the tent up and then... And what? We're going to sit in there
in an awkward situation?
Like, that, it's pathetic that is. That is pathetic.
It would have been nice to have been welcomed after the day
that we've had. They would have said,
"Oh, come on, guys, it's £100 a head. You know,
"for 1,100 we can be together, we can enjoy this meal,"
but we were shot down straight away. We were told,
"You can't take this because you took that."
So it's just created chaos again
and there's going to be a massive split in camp... again.
That's my favourite thing that. That's my favourite restaurant.
Kieran, what are you doing? No, I'm staying here.
I'm starving. I'm getting some food.
Kieran said point blank last night,
he wasn't going to take anything more.
I find it highly disrespectful
and a massive disregard for the rest of the group.
He's in it for himself and his self only.
I don't like to be associated with them sort of people,
so I'm just not going to speak to him.
I'm not going to do it. OK. So I'm happy.
That was 100 quid. Fuck me!
I pay more for a pair of trainers back home!
I thought we were all going to be a team?
You know, we went through
that hard trek together as a team, supporting each other.
Yeah. Nah, I'm not having that, the way we were shut down.
That could have been a meal for everybody.
That, for me, was the, was the make-up meal
for everyone to get together and it was thrown in our face.
I get that we took that temptation, but that came across petty.
I totally agree. We had our night and it's their night,
but this is our retribution
for spending all that money on the island.
I don't want to hear another word about us spending
so much on the island. No.
There's a lot of anger in camp tonight.
I just lost it a bit and I shouldn't have done, but I
feel better not taking another one because of the cost
we spent the other night. But we're hungry
and that's my favourite food.
Right. Let's get cracking with this tent.
The camp is once again fully divided.
So with just five of the fortune seekers indulging
in the special deal at the teppanyaki restaurant,
only £500 comes out of the prize pot.
Wahey! Woo!
Wow.
Oh, my goodness! Wow!
Wow! Wow.
Oh, I don't know what to have next. One, two, three.
CHEERING
We all worked so hard today
to get to the temptation and then
we find out it's only £100 per person.
Doesn't really get into my head why everyone else has separated off
and said they're not taking it. I'm confused.
You don't get this Japanese food in Burnley.
I did make a promise of saying no to more temptations,
but at the end of the day, a bargain like that, £100 a head,
I think that's a steal.
And if they've got a problem, I'll transfer them £10 each.
I'm living the dream. Thank you very much.
ALL CHEER
LAUGHTER I did it!
Oh, God. Get this down my neck. Cheers.
Cheers. Cheers, lads.
Can I just say, well done, Sarah. The biggest walk yet
and you smashed it. Well done. Cheers.
Can we try and get along, Sarah?
Yeah? Are you serious? Yeah. All right. Cheers.
Thank you, Sarah. OK. Wahey! Break through!
Me and Kieran now, we are like besties.
We've eventually buried the hatchet. Who'd have thought it?
Looking back now, 33K was a lot.
But I didn't want to just say no to this
just because we did 33K on that,
do you know what I mean? But if this was a...
Kieran, that's not the reason. You say no to this because we agreed
that this group decides and you're going back on your word.
I am not surprised that Kieran has taken this.
I knew he was selfish and he hasn't proved me wrong.
So, right from the beginning he has shown me that he's a hypocrite.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity,
but that has been his excuse for every other thing.
Hey, leave Kieran alone, you. Hey!
Wow! You two! Get a bloody room!
You hated each other a day ago...
And now I love her now. ..and now you're like bezzies.
Well, it's mad what a Japanese meal can do, innit?
How's dinner coming along? It's bubbling. Bubbling.
Oh!
Happy days. Oh!
They've finished already.
They've had their dinner. I'm picking my bed spot.
Oh, yeah, yeah. Pick your bed spots, guys.
Yeah, quick! Hey, guys.
Jen. What? I hope you know
that when I said, "Go out," it was just a test to see...
Not really, no.
I don't need a test. I'm a 47-year-old adult.
We're supposed to be one group. That wasn't one group in there.
That was a group versus a group and I don't like it.
It would have been lovely to do it as a whole group. I know.
I hope we can come back together because that was not a good way...
Yeah, of course, of course. ...of leaving things.
But I think it might be too late for that now, unfortunately.
Shall we go back and do it all again as friends?
A bit taken aback how Sarah and Kieran are hugging.
So that's... funny.
Can we all get along?
I know it would have been lovely to have all been in there, Kieran,
but the way we got yelled at, we got attacked in there.
I don't want to sit in there when we're getting attacked.
There's a divide in the group. Everyone's just falling out
and bickering and not letting things go.
And I feel like we should all get to the finish line
and give it a big cheers together, but it looks like we're not.
It's a new day.
Morning. You OK? Morning.
But last night's fallout over the teppanyaki restaurant
is still hanging heavy.
This morning, there's a little bit of friction.
On the scale of 1 to 10,
the trust in the group is now 1.5.
Everyone's just tired now and it's coming towards the end.
I feel like people just want to make the most amount of money now,
but it's hard to say, because when you're faced with
a temptation, you don't become rational.
Being in the camp, it's so draining at times.
I'm really starting to look forward to going home.
I'm done being this guy that's just sacrificing himself for the group.
I just want to see what the next temptation is,
and I'm just gonna be like, "You know what?
"Just fucking give it to me."
Guys, grub's up.
SHE SIGHS
There's a few in the group that I've stopped trusting,
who have spent, basically, nearly everything in the pot.
It's been very, very tough on me personally,
so I'm ready to just take the money at this point.
Who do we see? Mr Beckett! ALL CHEER
It's Robert! Hi, guys. How are you? Boiling.
Congratulations. You're nearly at the end.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Don't make it worse for us. No.
Look, I bring good news. No more trekking.
ALL CHEER
Ah... yeah? HE LAUGHS
No more trekking.
I am over the bleeding moon.
Oh, I just feel like I want
to sling my jungle boots on the fire.
What's the catch?
There is something else to do today, though. OK.
Now, listen carefully, because it's quite important.
I need you to pick six people to face a temptation.
And it's a big one.
So I need you to think carefully about who those six are.
I need you to think carefully about who you trust.
Got it? Yeah. Understood?
Very understood. Understood. OK, well, good luck,
and I'll see you in a bit. Thanks, Rob. Thank you. See you later. Bye.
Bye. Right, guys, what are we thinking?
I think, for me, we've all got to nominate... Yes.
...somebody first who they think should be in that six.
I nominate Lady C. I'm gonna nominate Yvonne.
OK. I'll nominate Lady C. I'm gonna nominate Yvonne.
Yvonne. Jack.
Yvonne. Yeah. Yvonne.
Right. OK. So, Yvonne, you're first. Thank you.
Right. So, go again. I'm gonna nominate Sam.
I'm gonna go Jack.
We don't know what the temptation is.
We don't know what they're facing, so that's a bit nerve-racking.
I'm gonna go Jack. So Jack got the majority. Thank you.
So that's four. OK, so start again.
I think a lot of people don't trust many people in this camp.
But personally I think we chose the best six.
So our final six are Yvonne, Lady C,
Sam, Jack, me, Tierney.
We will do our best to make the best decision in that moment.
It's a lot of pressure.
We don't actually know what the temptation is. No, no, I know.
So we need to think about that as well.
Is it going to be money?
Is it going to be a yacht?
Is it going to be the whole prize pot?
I'm quite anxious around the money side of it.
Some people might push it too far.
If someone comes back to say that someone's taken
the whole prize pot, I'm going to be absolutely heartbroken.
They're so close to the end, the finish line is in sight.
But after weeks in the jungle, some of them are at breaking point.
If only there was a way out.
Well, I've got something here that's gonna tempt them.
A plane ticket home and a cheque for £12,500.
If they take it, they'll be on the first flight back,
but it'll come at a cost to the group.
With dramatic spends left, right and centre,
there's a chance of going home with nothing.
So, do they take the money and run, or do they hold their nerve
and wait till the end?
First to face their temptation, Jack.
Jack! Come on, mate. Come on. Jack! Jack!
I'm so nervous. My heart is racing.
I'm a little bit on the fence with Jack.
If it is a money temptation, I know that he wants money,
so I am a little bit worried that he might sort of take the piss
if he's got a choice.
Righty ho, righty ho.
Oh, man.
Oh, fucking hell.
OK.
"In front of you is a plane ticket home
"and a cheque for £12,500.
"This is the value of half your starting share.
"If you choose to take it, your time here will come to an end
"and you will leave today and return home with the money."
Fucking hell, man.
"Your £12,500 cheque will be taken from the prize pot,
"and there will be an additional penalty of 12.5K,
"meaning a total of 25K will be deducted from the prize pot."
Yeah, that's 12.5 right there.
And my ticket.
I've told myself I want to be more selfish.
I've helped this team a lot.
I haven't given in to many temptations.
I've spent a lot less than other campers.
I am a team player, but when it comes to money,
you know, you do have to look after yourself.
HE SIGHS The only thing that I'd regret
for the rest of my life would be
if there was no money at the end of this, and I've said no to this.
Money is the main thing I came for here.
Oh, fucking hell, man.
You know, you're not guaranteed to walk home with anything on this.
Ohh.
Jack has just been offered a cheque
for £12,500 and a plane ticket straight home.
But if anyone takes this temptation,
a further 12.5K will be deducted from the prize pot,
costing the group a whopping 25 grand in total.
I...
I just... I'm...
Ah, fucking hell, man.
I don't want to leave this group, man. I want to...
I want to have this last day, this last night together
and whatever's happening tomorrow.
I might end up regretting this, but I can't do it.
I'm going to say no.
HE SIGHS Goodbye, cheque.
Goodbye.
I think I've made the right decision.
I...
I think I have. I mean,
you're not guaranteed to walk away with anything,
but I've taken the risk,
and I will take the consequences of that risk.
Good luck, Yvonne. I'll try my best. We love you!
I hope I don't let you down.
Next up is Yvonne.
Yvonne is desperate for some money,
and I think Yvonne will take it if it's cash.
I think they've made a big mistake choosing Yvonne.
Oh, the pressure.
And now we wait.
This is... This is not what I was expecting.
So if I take this cheque, my group is going to be penalised
and nobody else will be given the chance to take this.
£12,500.
My ticket to London.
Oh, my goodness.
This is a lifeline money for me.
It would change a lot for me and my family.
I grew up in Ghana, one of five siblings.
My mum was a single mother most of the time.
We didn't grow up with much, but we knew we were loved.
I have lived with very little and I'm constantly working just
to give us what I didn't have as a kid.
I've got two children who depend on me.
I cannot afford to be weak.
This is tempting because I don't know what's
in store and what the others are going to do.
This is good money.
But the fact that the group will be penalised...
...it won't sit very well with me and I won't get to cross
the finishing line with the group.
So for that reason, I'm going to pass on this temptation.
It's my biggest worry that I am going to regret this decision.
I know some people would take that money,
but yesterday some of them showed me
that they can back up their words with actions.
And I really hope that I haven't set myself up
for a stupid decision by trusting in them.
Third to go is Cressida.
Nothing's guaranteed when it comes to money.
Nico went home with nothing,
so we could always end up with nothing.
Oh, no.
I am seen as Lady C,
so when there's a conversation about money,
I don't really kind of feature in it
because they're like, "You're Lady C.
"You don't need the money." I've still got bills to pay.
There's some leaks in my house, you know?
So money is important to me.
Obviously, £12,500 is a lot of money.
We all need the money,
and I will be gutted if I leave with nothing.
But I always came into this for the challenge,
and I've also got to think about the rest of the team.
I'm going to be strong and I'm not going to take it.
Now it's Sam's turn.
"In front of you is a plane ticket home
"and a cheque for £12,500."
That's a lot of money.
I really want to take home as much money
as I possibly can because I want to treat my kids,
I want to have some fun experiences with my husband,
and the prize fund has been dwindling rapidly
in the past few days.
To leave now and not have the last night...
...even if it's just beans and rice around the fire,
the value of what I've got in there,
I think I'll be staying with the group.
The money was right there in front of me.
It was tempting.
I want to leave with some money,
but I want to leave with the group as well.
Fifth to face it is Jennie.
Oh, God. Ah-ah-ah!
When I first started this,
I was very much about trying to just help everybody out
as much as I can, do everything for everybody.
I've taken a step back.
I'm trying to look after myself more.
You know, I'm not here for the group.
I just need to take care of myself
and that's my priority.
SHE EXHALES So I could see my kids.
Yeah, so it's a lot of money.
Obviously, it means I've got that guaranteed cash.
I've got half of me wanting to take it,
half of me really wanting to finish the experience.
Like, I'm really torn at the moment.
Oh, my God. So I would literally go straight home.
I really need this money. Like, I really need this money.
The last few years has been tough.
I lost my restaurant due to Covid
and then had a full-time job where I was made redundant.
I've got debts from, like, my restaurant still.
I am broke, so it'd be great to have financial stability,
having that extra money in the bank account.
That's all I want.
I could leave here with absolutely nothing, but...
...there's a big part of me that also wants to
finish the experience.
So on that note, it's going to be a no.
Tierney was raging when she didn't get the ATM money,
so I think out of anybody she might feel like this is deserved.
So far,
five of the people most trusted by the group have resisted,
leaving the cheque and plane tickets still on the table.
Bye! Good luck, babe. Ooh!
And last to face the temptation is Tierney.
I'm so intrigued with what's going on.
He said, "Choose people you trust."
And there's some people that have gone up there
that I don't trust.
My only worry would be Tierney taking this,
because she got very fiery
when she wasn't nominated to the ATM.
And I know she wants the money and something secure.
I think she's 50/50.
Right now, honestly,
I'm not really thinking about the group.
They've been as selfish as they want.
You don't really know who to trust, at the end of the day.
Oh, no.
Right.
£12,500 to me is massive. Absolutely massive.
The fact how that would be guaranteed is phenomenal.
"Once this offer has been taken,
"it will no longer be available to anyone else in the group."
Right.
SHE SIGHS So nobody's taken it.
SHE CHUCKLES
Oh, God. OK.
Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
It's got my name on it!
They know how much I miss my family, so much.
12.5 grand. Ahh!
It's safe. It's security. Kieran's already got 10,000.
Shaf's got 10,000.
Oh!
Ooh! It's... It's a cheque.
It's a cheque for £12,500 in my hands.
This is a beautiful sight.
SHE EXHALES It feels a bit criminal,
but it also feels amazing.
SHE LAUGHS
I am extremely impulsive, especially when it comes to money.
When I feel like I deserve something,
then I will get it.
Oh-oh-oh! Ohh.
Charity starts at home.
And you've definitely got to put yourself first in this life.
I've never been offered
this much money before in my life, ever.
It's extremely tempting.
Ahhh!
Next time on Tempting Fortune... Ohh! Look at the view!
That view! I've never seen anything like this in my life.
"Welcome to the millionaire's mansion.
"Your fate is going to be in the other group's hands."
Oh, shit. This is priceless. Well, I don't know about that.
Your journey is almost at an end.
But you won't all be going home with equal money.
Ohh!
