The core we received have been checked and confirmed.

Thank you!

All right, mission complete.

Good job.

Lindow!

Never mind.

Umm... Lenka's from the outside.

He must be worried about those people...

The outside?

You should know how it is here.

You two came from the outside too, right?

Soma...

Staying alive on the outside...

Do you know what it's like?

- Hibari? - Yes?

When will Aegis be completed?

Aegis? Looking at progress until today,

we're 0.06% complete.

0.0...?

It's a mammoth thing we're constructing.

Relying only on mid-sized types like Gboro

would require several tens of thousands of core.

Tens of thousands?

Even large Vajra would require several thousand.

Lenka!

Kota?

What're you looking at?

That counter.

Oh... the number of survivors.

Survivors?

But...

there are survivors who weren't counted, right?

What is it?

Oh, Soma!

The Director has a special mission.

Lenka?

Move.

You're in my way.

Just how prepared were you when you came here?

What we can do is kill Aragami.

That's all.

Will two large-types be too difficult?

Large-types?

We have the personnel.

But Lindow and Soma are away on special assignment for the Director.

So how about these?

Six Gboro? All right.

You're second in command, so choose who goes.

Thank you.

Sakuya...

What is it?

Can we go for a large-type on this mission?

What brought this on?

I agree...

I think a large-type sounds good.

You two...!

The bigger the core, the quicker Aegis gets finished, right?

Kota...

That's true, but...

That means your target would be a Vajra.

You know how dangerous they are.

I say we go for Vajra too.

Alisa!

What's with all this eagerness?

I just want to perform my duty as a New-Type.

All right.

- Sakuya! - But...

If I decide it's too dangerous, we withdraw.

I expect you to obey orders.

- Roger! - Roger!

Go around the back. Don't go straight at it!

Kota! Finish the fallen Vajra!

Oh, right!

- Kota. - Y-Yes?

Your God Arc...

is a refined version of the God Arc Major Amamiya once used.

It's an exceptional God Arc.

You have to trust it.

And have confidence in yourself.

You are a God Eater.

Yes!

I did it!

Lenka, devour the core.

We're going after another Vajra.

Roger!

What are people doing in a Vajra lair?

Everyone, stay together!

S-Sakuya, what do we do?

We have to bring one down to open up an escape route!

A black... Vajra.

Episode 5 An Eye for an Eye

Episode 5 All in Vain

It's feeding!

A mutant Vajra...?

I've never seen anything like it!

Dyaus Pita...

At last!

Alisa!

Lenka, time to retreat! Bring Alisa back!

Kota, help Lenka!

Roger!

What about us?

What do we do?

Save us!

You must get away from here!

Sakuya!

Lenka...

Please protect...

everyone...

Where is it?

Stop...

Just stop...

Stop!

Alisa...

Wait...!

They're still alive!

Lenka! Alisa!

Get out of there!

God...

Amazing.

The divided cells have become a colony.

And this?

I guess you could call it the colony core.

Can it be cultivated?

We can, but it might undergo change during the process.

Still, it's an important clue. Please proceed.

I wonder why Headquarters approved the continuation of research.

Well, look at our results.

Headquarters decided our research has value.

They had foresight, that's all.

I find it hard to believe that report swayed Headquarters.

Who cares as long as we get to continue our research?

They even doubled our budget.

Ask too many questions and you might just open a can of worms.

Maybe not worms... but something like this.

This is an unknown cell!

There's every possibility it'll be mammalian.

Now that's funny.

You're such a dreamer, Paylor.

Even if they colonized, you're talking coral or jellyfish.

Yes.

Yes, we're all here.

From now?

Of course.

My apologies for calling you out like this.

What does the U.S. military want with us?

First, please look at this.

This was discovered six months ago in the far south.

This was two months ago in the coastal waters off South Africa.

What does this have to do with us?

And...

This was discovered ten days ago on the west coast of our country.

Firearms and artillery have no effect on them.

They devour inorganic materials like cages.

Frankly, I find it hard to believe.

As you can see, they're real.

We asked each region to investigate.

And they reported...

that these life forms have something in common.

Commonality?

They...

are a colony with a single cell core.

I believe it's called "Oracle,"

the new cell that you discovered.

It... evolved?

If this life form multiplies in great numbers...

We have a problem even before energy runs out.

We want your help as the director of...

the Fenrir Biochemistry Research Center and Natural Resource and Energy Development...

Johannes von Schicksal.

Hide and seek...

Not yet!

Hide and seek...

Come and find me!
