Original subtitles

Next, on Airwolf. You got any heat sources?

Are they all dead?

There are two Americans still alive. Send out every available man to take

them. Whatever it is, it's obviously lethal.

The Russians can't control it. We've got to find out what is going on up there.

Let's go. Come on.

Call off your guards or we're all gonna die on this island.

Cruise missiles, Hawk.

Subsonic. Hawk, you gotta hold on.

Got out of hand. No time left.

The sickness spreads like wildfire.

Some die immediately.

There's madness, paranoia.

It started in Afghanistan.

We're not sure the Soviet military authorized it. In fact, there's some

evidence that it was an accident or a rogue operation.

The results are the same.

It seems to be biological in nature, probably viral.

We've never seen microorganisms this powerful.

In any case, no matter what the agent is, it's odorless, colorless, and

obviously lethal.

Our agents in Kabul grabbed a vial of the stuff.

Had it sent to a super-secret installation we set up at an old World

War II spotting station in the Aleutians.

It's an isolated island where we could duplicate the Afghanistani conditions.

They were trying to create a counter-agent, an antidote.

You say they were?

Right. They were also supposed to report regularly.

So far, this is all we've heard for the past 72 hours.

Like some kind of a code?

Whatever it is, it's coming in over there, assigned frequency, and we can't

break it.

Why don't you just send a team up there?

We already have four men.

They haven't reported back.

So you're saying the bacteria's escaped?

We don't know what happened.

When is Santini coming back?

Three, four weeks.

We've got to find out what the hell is going on up there. That's why we need

Airwolf, and we need it now.

These pictures from Afghanistan are horrible, Hawk.

Well, I wanted you to know what you might be getting yourself into.

Hawk, they make me furious.

Why do you keep looking at them?

Because if I'm angry, I won't be scared.

Are you?

No.

So am I.

Position?

Coming up on the island now, Hawk.

Got it.

Let's take her in.

All quadrants clear.

Here it is.

Nothing's moving.

Try the audio.

Nothing. Just that same transmission that we've been picking up ever since we

left.

Hawk, look at all the bodies.

You got any heat sources?

No readings at all?

Are they all dead?

Yeah.

They're all dead.

I think we ought to start her down in the hills.

It's like a nightmare, Hawk.

Almost as though they... They killed one another.

Hawk, this man's been shot.

Yeah, by this one over here.

The signal's too erratic, Hawk. I can't trace it.

If anyone's still alive, we'll locate him from the source of the signal.

Hockey jumped.

All we wanted to do was help him. He's too far gone to understand.

You see him?

No. Where'd he go?

Like he just walked away.

Oh, Hawk, after that fall... I couldn't live through it.

Look.

Get down. Why? Who are they?

Russians.

How do you know?

That's a Soviet sub out there.

That's not the worst part of it.

We can't get to Airwolf.

What are they doing here?

Don't they know they've exposed themselves to that disease?

Well, they probably heard about the research facility in this island. And

they're looking for the same thing we are, an antidote.

Hawk, that's a Russian sub in our waters. Now, shouldn't somebody know

about that?

I've got to find that antidote first.

We'll take care of that when we get to Airwolf. Come on.

I think

they're looking

for the source of the signal.

Well, we couldn't find it, Hawk. How can they?

They won't.

Those hills are full of iron ore.

It deflects the ground signals. They couldn't find the source without an

aircraft. They don't have an aircraft, Hawk. We do.

Yeah.

Yeah, that's right.

Well, what do we do now?

Well, if push comes to shove, we do whatever we have to.

In the meantime, I'm going to try and find a way through to Airwolf.

You stay here.

Stay warm.

You okay?

You sure?

I'm fine.

Hey, hey, take it easy, sailor.

Hey,

this is no western movie.

Uh,

sure. Well, how'd you happen to get into the, uh, the land of designer jeans

here?

You, uh, you do know this is U.S. territory.

Hey,

look.

I'm trying to be cordial.

But if you want to get uptight...

Let's get

out of here. His friends must have heard the shot.

Mary! Mary,

come here!

This man needs attention.

Now, send him back to the sub. We can't do that, Commander.

This may be the contagion.

He may be infected.

We have no facilities to treat him on this beach, Lieutenant.

If we send them aboard the sub, the whole fleet may be infected. Who knows

where it will end?

Tell the medical officer to do what he can.

And now, Lieutenant, let's find out whether the Americans have discovered

the antidote.

Aren't you forgetting something, Commander?

If we should die, these facilities will continue to harbor the contagion for

months, even years.

Lieutenant Commander Alexandrov, we are showing early symptoms of the disease.

If a pattern develops, I may be forced to initiate strike plan beta.

Make the necessary corrections in missile trajectories and wait for

further instructions.

Over.

Don't worry, Lieutenant.

We die here.

I'll make sure this organism dies with us.

Commander Zhukov!

Porgovich. Sir! There are two Americans still alive.

Where? Near the cliff, sir.

They will be captured.

Send out every available man to take them.

Belay that.

Our first priority is to find that antidote.

If the Americans report our presence here, it could create an international

incident. If we don't find that antidote, we won't be alive to worry

about it.

Dismissed.

Stay covering here.

Jenny's Rudolph head of the research team.

Yeah, whatever he knew he took it with him. Come on. Yeah

Caitlin, look.

It's a video camera.

Here.

to all of us.

The world is dying.

And I have an urge to kill, kill myself,

to kill.

Maybe we've got a chance to find that secure lab.

I think that's a job you can safely leave to us.

Lower your weapons, everybody.

I'm Leonid Zhukov, commander of the Soviet oceanographic research vessel

Maxim Gorky.

This is Lieutenant Ilina Lupany, our political officer.

What's the matter, Commander? You take a wrong turn when you got to the North

Pole? This man, Professor Rudolph, he spoke about a secure laboratory.

What can you tell us about that?

I can tell you that this is United States territory, and whatever's here

belongs to us.

Turn on that machine.

Don't bother.

There's nothing on that tape that says anything about an antidote, which is

what we're both after.

How could you use a weapon like that?

You don't even have an antidote.

It may not have been an official test.

Regardless, such an antidote, if it exists, is the property of the Soviet

Union. If such an antidote does exist, it's the property of the world.

The whole world.

One big family of men.

Global cooperation.

I had no idea American operatives harbored such an idealism.

Not idealism.

Survival.

In the long run, perhaps.

But right now, tell us what you know.

Commander.

For us, there is no long run.

So it is agreed, Mr. Hogg, that we will help each other to find the antidote.

Right.

These mountains are full of a magnetic ore that deflects all the signals.

We have to find the source of that transmission, narrowing each time until

we close the triangle.

In order to do that, you have to get above the mountains.

There is no aircraft on this island.

None we have been able to locate.

Galen? Show them the readings we took on that approach to the island.

Our strongest readings came from here and here, these two vectors.

And yours?

Show them our readings.

If this is a trick, Commander, I wouldn't want to be in your place.

We find anybody following us, our whole agreement's off.

Yes, my word.

Our first communication is 1400 hours. Let's check in.

1325, 10 seconds.

20 seconds.

30 seconds.

Jack.

Hawk, good luck to you.

And wherever we have got that aircraft hidden, if we see you are attempting to

escape this island's airspace, I'll order the sub to blow you out of the

sky.

Come on.

Hop, can we count on them to share that antidote once we find it? Listen, we're

dying. So are they.

It's just odd that we find ourselves a little more alike all of a sudden.

You got a point.

Get the radios ready.

Notify the sub to triangulate all transmissions.

We should have taken them prisoner.

All we need is their aircraft.

We need their ability to fly it too.

We need each other.

Is that so hard for you to grasp?

It's not something we do easily.

It's not part of our system, is it?

If it were, would each submarine have a political officer?

Have I gone too far, comrade?

Perhaps having a fatal illness loosens the tongue too much.

I am not your enemy, Leonid.

I never thought so.

Oh, fantastic!

Look at them down there, Hawk.

I bet their mouths are watering.

give me turbos turbos coming up on point one

we've got the signal strong 26 degrees take heading one six zero now

the

signal's coming out like spaghetti

We have got an erratic signal from 15 degrees approximately.

Got it.

Signal at second station, 205 degrees.

Our sub is attempting triangulation of your data, but so far we haven't been

able to pinpoint the source.

Bullseye, we found it, Hawk.

We've got something to cover.

Good.

I'm a fake, Lieutenant.

300 degrees.

This is the place.

Get moving.

I got some vehicles in the move down there.

They're trying to beat us to the source of the signal.

I told you they couldn't be trusted, Hawk, but I sure wish I would have been

wrong.

What's the hurry, guys?

Go on, we'll do you good. See you up there.

A dangerous game you played back there, Mr. Hawk.

If you hadn't moved so prematurely, Commander, there would have been no

reason.

I insist.

American property.

Looks like a dead end.

Wait a minute, Hawk.

When Zeppo was with the act, there were four Marx brothers.

Right.

Groucho, Chico, Zeppo, and...

Harpo.

You're right, comrade.

There's gotta be a fourth rabbit.

Let's find it.

Come on, Harpo.

Well, hello, little fella.

Hey, I found Harpo, and he's alive.

And this, uh...

This

must be the source of our mysterious signal.

Look. Antivirus B.

Harpo.

Antivirus B.

Harpo.

I'll take the first injection.

I don't know.

If there is any doubt, you'll know it soon enough.

Come on, guys, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on,

come on, come on, come on, come

on, come on, come on,

come

on.

Thank you.

I don't know.

You are more of an adversary than I expected.

Well, Lieutenant, I've learned not to underestimate people.

I've found they can surprise you.

Congratulations, Mr. Hawk.

You, Miss Caitlin, and Lieutenant Lupani are the last.

Go on, Hawk. Give him your arm like a big boy.

It doesn't hurt much.

All is well.

Here's it, Zhukov.

Some of your men are missing.

Huck, what's the matter?

There's a scouting party in the hills.

You just couldn't leave well enough alone, could you, Commander?

Lieutenant, I haven't ordered that.

I took it into my own hands, Commander.

You seem to have forgotten where your duties lie.

The technology in your aircraft.

It's too important not to take it back to the Soviet Union. It doesn't really

matter. Anyone that touches that aircraft but me will find it'll blow

itself and anyone within a hundred yard radius straight to hell.

It's a bluff.

Is it, Lieutenant?

Call me.

I'll give you the keys myself.

I'm, uh, Dr.

Charles Morton.

Endocrine biology.

Springfellow Hawk.

I met you earlier.

I'm sorry. I don't recall.

I don't think you were exactly in your best frame of mind.

You look awfully cold.

Thank you. Our comrades came here for the same reason we did. To find the

antidote.

Fortunately, we managed to locate it in the nick of time.

You've all taken the serum? Yes.

Doctor, if you had the antidote, why are you the only one that survived?

Because the others killed each other.

The antidote causes acute paranoia.

A side effect of the antidote.

Almost as deadly as the disease itself.

Doctor, are there tranquilizers in the lab?

Yes. If we were to tranquilize each of you for the next eight to ten hours,

then the paranoid phase will pass.

Not me!

Nobody touches me!

No! No! Nobody will touch me! What's wrong with you?

Are you crazy?

Throw your weapons in the ocean.

Now!

It's right.

Do as Hook says.

You want to end up like Dr. Morton's research team? Now!

I order you!

I'll get the sedatives.

What about the patrol that's guarding Airwolf?

They obey just my orders.

Well, then order them.

Stop it.

What is Plan Beta?

A perk of the first strike. This whole side of the island will be incinerated

by cruise missiles.

How long?

20 to 30 minutes at most.

Get Airwolf.

Prepare to execute on my order.

Begin pre-launch sequence.

Submarine is submerging.

Captain, leave us here.

Don't worry, my friends.

Hey, nothing can harm us anymore. We have antidote. We have taken an

antidote. Nothing.

Tarkovich, you and your men step forward and throw down your arms.

We have to give you a tranquilizer.

Lieutenant. Your orders were to... Do as I say, Targovich. There is no time.

There is a side effect to the antidote.

I know what you're trying to make me do.

You're trying to make me to betray.

Targovich, please.

You. She is one of them!

Them! One of the enemy!

Don't you see this?

I'm going to stop you.

Pop,

can you fly tranquilized like this? Can you even see?

I gotta try.

That sub could be anywhere in a thousand square miles, Hawk.

We're never going to find it in time.

We'll just have to be ready and see what they pitch at us.

Some batting practice.

Hawk, they pitched us three.

Okay. Hit the ID.

Cruise missiles, Hawk.

Subsonic. Code name, Sea Snake.

Kate, where's the other ones?

20 degrees, Hawk.

Hawk, are you all right?

Hawk, you've got to hold on.

Those missiles are only seconds from the target.

Big chance for us.

I... I won't forget it.

Neither will I.

But I'm gonna try.

Till next time.

I keep thinking about that man on the television.

Professor Rudolph.

He said sometimes the weapons we create are worse than we ourselves.

I think we have proved that here.

one last job to do.

Sterilize this island.
