=Episode 21=

Yan! Yan!

Come out, now!

Yan!

Hurry and come out!

Help us, Yan!

My son's barely hanging on!

Come out, quickly!

Yan!

What's wrong, ma'am?

Yan,

my son's stomach hurts so badly.

Do you still have that herbal medicine from last time?

Give it to my son, now!

All right, wait a moment.

I'll go find it.

Hurry up!

Mother, hurry.

I can't take it anymore.

It'll just be a moment.

Hurry up!

Mother.

Hey, you there,

could you at least be polite when asking for help?

Hurry up!

- It's fine. She's just anxious. - Stop dawdling!

Hurry up!

Something's off.

I think they can't see us.

Hurry up! Come on!

What's going on?

Why isn't it ready yet?

This is probably your mother's memory.

Maybe she doesn't want anyone tampering with her memories.

Hurry up!

Stop shouting!

What's going on?

You're a jinx!

Stay away from us!

Ma'am,

I'm treating your son.

How can you speak of my wife like that?

What were you thinking,

marrying that jinx?

How dare you speak like that?

You took our medicine

and still insult us?

Go home and keep an eye on your son.

Keep him away from water.

You dare curse me?

- Ma'am, ma'am! - Mother!

I'm missing one more herb.

Come on, I'll take you to find it.

Come with me. Let's go.

Hurry. Hurry.

Yaohua.

After I married Yan,

the villagers drove us out.

We settled here.

Yan has a kind heart.

Whenever he can, he goes to treat them

and gather herbs.

They gladly accept Yan's help,

but avoid me like the plague.

Well, that's enough.

Never mind.

Are you afraid?

Afraid of what?

You and Chu

took us in.

You're good people.

Why should we be afraid?

This world is full of fools

who believe whatever they hear.

Pay them no mind.

Just now, you told her

to keep her son away from water.

Did you see something?

I saw...

I saw that her son would fall into the water.

Yan.

Sorry about that.

We woke you two up.

Go back to sleep.

Yaohua, you go back too.

Don't catch a chill in the wind.

Tomorrow

I'll go hunt some game for you all.

Come on, let's go.

Yaohua.

Li,

what's wrong?

Yan said

he's going into the mountains to hunt.

But I...

I keep feeling uneasy.

Don't worry.

It'll be fine.

My child is about to be born.

But these past days,

I can't shake this uneasy feeling.

Thank goodness I have you with me.

Yaohua, I'm back!

Yan.

Why are you waiting out here again?

Careful you don't catch a chill and get a headache again.

I was worried about you.

Oh, right.

Look.

I went to town today

and traded the game I caught for this.

After our child is born,

let's give this to our baby as a gift. How about that?

It's beautiful.

Li,

what's wrong?

Tomorrow

is my birthday.

That means

my father likely won't survive tonight.

No.

I have to stop this.

Li,

this is your mother's memory,

not reality.

You can't stop it.

But must I just watch him die?

I've imagined countless times

what kind of man my father was

and why he died so young.

Was he a terrible person?

Is that why heaven

refused to keep him in this world?

But you've seen him.

My father is so warm-hearted and kind.

Why did he have to die?

Why did he die before he could even

see his own daughter born?

Why?

Li.

(Ziyuan,)

(Li,)

(come out, quickly!)

Yan,

- I'm not leaving! - What's happening?

Ziyuan, Li,

take Yaohua and go first.

Get out of here.

Why should we leave?

I'm not leaving!

No matter what,

just get away for now.

What on earth is going on?

I don't know either.

She's carrying a child.

You must take her away first.

Yan!

Yan!

Come with us now.

Li,

you two have nothing to do with this.

Leave this place first.

I can't leave Yan behind.

Leave right away. Go!

No.

I'm going to save him!

Li!

Everyone, listen to me first.

- Don't be rash, all right? - Yan!

Yan!

What are you doing here? Go back!

I can't leave you alone!

What do you want?

You jinx!

How dare you put a death curse on my son!

Yesterday, you told me to keep him away from water.

And today, he drowned!

It's on you!

What kind of sorcery did you use?

It's a barrier.

Your mother's memory can't be altered.

I warned you before,

but you wouldn't listen.

Now you're blaming me?

How is that fair?

Anyway, it's your fault!

You jinx! It's your fault my son died!

I'll make you

and the child in your belly pay with your lives!

You're dead.

You're all going to die!

How dare she put a death curse on us!

Beat them to death!

(Hit her! Do it!)

No! No!

(Beat them to death! Kill that jinx!)

- Stop it! - (Beat them to death!)

Yan!

Stop hitting him!

- Stop! - Stop!

Yan!

After all these years

of giving you herbs for free,

please spare my wife and child!

Don't listen to him!

Beat that witch to death, now!

No!

Yan?

Yan!

Father!

Father!

You...

Yan! Yan!

I can't

stay with you anymore.

Take care of the child.

Father.

Father!

Yan!

Yan!

We actually beat him to death. What now?

Then kill them all.

After that,

burn her body.

No one will know.

No!

Father!

Mother!

Hurry! Beat them to death

before she gives birth to another little jinx

who'll bring us more misery! Hit her!

(Hit her!)

(Hit her!)

I told you,

she's a demon.

Beat her to death!

Hit her!

My husband and I

have never harmed any of you.

You ungrateful,

foolish, petty wretches

have brought us to this.

You...

Which of you hasn't benefited

from Yan's kindness?

And yet you beat him to death.

People like you

have no right to live in this world.

I'll kill you all.

I'll kill you all.

I'll kill you all!

Yaohua!

Mother! Don't do it.

You've committed a grave sin.

Yes.

I killed them all.

Kill me too.

You cannot die.

Because in your belly

lies the hope of Jinan City.

Jinan City?

Come to the Shaman Clan with me.

Spend your life atoning for your sins.

You have twenty deaths to answer for,

while your daughter

will bear the fate of Jinan City's 300,000 people.

I only hope

my child can grow up healthy and safe.

I...

I don't want her

to carry such a heavy burden at such a young age.

That is her fate.

(So...)

(This is my fate.)

Mother?

Mother!

Li.
