(Episode 28)

Man.

Man, why are you here?

I looked for you the whole day.

Man, what's wrong?

I miss home.

Actually, you don't have to accompany me here.

You can return to Yinlian Sect first.

After I settle everything here,

I'll come to you.

When?

When will you take the initiative to come to me?

Man, after I've settled this matter,

I'll go back with you.

You have responsibilities here that you can't let go,

a master and fellow disciples whom you cannot leave behind.

When it comes to me, the one thing you always tell me

is to wait and wait again.

Meng Chu.

I just want you.

But why am I not enough for you?

I'll ask you again.

Are you going to come with me?

Man.

Don't be angry.

Please wait for a while longer.

My mom told me this.

A man who doesn't take the initiative to come to you

is better off gone.

I'll give you two days to consider.

I'll return to Yinlian Sect in two more days.

It's up to you

if you want to come with me or not.

Man.

Venerable Grandmaster, don't scare me.

My wife has gone missing again.

Where has she gone again?

Take me to her.

Please.

Bai Jiu Si, you are too old to act like a child.

How are you so shameless?

Do you know where my wife is?

Bai Si Jiu, do you remember who I am?

How about this? Call me brother

and I'll help you look for your wife together, okay?

Do not bully Venerable Grandmaster.

Venerable Master, I'll take you to Lady Li right now.

Lady Li, Venerable Grandmaster kept wanting to see you.

Otherwise, he refused to sleep.

I had no choice but to take him here.

Lady Li, I'll get going now.

If you and Venerable Grandmaster need anything, call me.

Is this fun?

As long as I can see you, it's fun.

Do you think it's fun to act dumb?

Bai Jiu Si.

Do you think we can reconcile

just because you pretend to forget about the past?

Let me tell you. It's impossible!

Too much has happened between us.

I can't forget about the past, and we can never start over again!

My dear.

Did I do something wrong

to make you angry?

Don't leave me behind again, okay?

Bai Jiu Si, what do you want?

I just want to be with you.

Master.

Why are you here?

I heard that Venerable Master came to stay with you.

So, I came here to check on you.

Are you afraid that I'll kill him because I still hate him?

You've always been a rational person. I don't have to worry about that.

But I'm worried that you'll be upset.

Have you ever fallen in love with someone?

Once when I was in seclusion.

When my seclusion began,

the fragrance of flowers often drifted into the cave.

I didn't pay it any attention.

Until one time.

At that moment, I wanted to open my eyes and look.

I am a timid person.

I fell in love with someone. But I was afraid to tell him.

I only dared to put a bouquet

at his door secretly once every few days.

I picked all the flowers

on Mount Yufan.

From then on, I started to travel around the world.

If I found a new flower species, I would put it at his door.

I drank wine every day,

hoping that getting drunk would embolden me

so that I could confess to him the next time I saw him.

Unfortunately, I have a high alcohol tolerance.

The more I drink, the more clear-minded I become.

It can't embolden me at all.

Did you open your eyes to look?

No. I decided not to look in the end.

Sometimes, it's better not to know.

I was in seclusion. And I had not fulfilled my responsibilities.

I didn't want to mislead anyone.

Did you find out who gave you flowers in the end?

Yes.

She once asked me

what my favorite flower is.

Martial Uncle, what is your favorite flower?

I don't like flowers.

But dandelions are not bad,

I got it.

I'm sorry.

It was my own choice. It has nothing to do with you.

I'm here today to tell you

to listen to your heart and don't live in regrets.

Grandmistress.

Immortal Fan and Zhang Suan wish to see you.

Let them in.

Is Venerable Master really injured so badly?

I used my spiritual power to help him recover just now.

His soul is almost shattered.

Li Mo wasn't lying.

It's a wonder that he only remembers you.

Looks like you are his obsession.

Why are you here together?

Although I lost all my spiritual power, I don't want to be a burden to you.

I've been studying Weapon Mastery and formations these past few days.

I remember that the Desert Stele is still in your hand.

I heard about what happened a few days ago.

The Desert Stele is recorded

in the Artifact Handbook given by Xiao Jing Shan.

I've studied it. It's not an ordinary artifact.

It must have taken a long time to craft it.

So, my guess is, Xiao Jing Shan must have crafted it for himself.

If we can repair the Desert Stele,

we can recreate the illusion of the past.

Maybe we can find some clues on Xiao Jing Shan from the illusion.

I remember you told me that you tried many ways

but was still unable to activate the remaining formation on it.

I can't activate it.

But maybe he can.

The power that Zhang Suan has right now

belonged to Xiao Jing Shan.

And he once entered the illusion created by you.

Based on my experience in Weapon Mastery,

Zhang Suan is the real master of the Desert Stele now.

And he's the only one

who can activate the restoration formation on it.

I can give it a try.

Let's do it, then.

Transfer your spiritual power into the patterns

and follow the flow of the network.

Grandmistress, look.

You actually restored it.

Ling Er, just now, you said that after restoring it,

we could recreate the illusion that was once created by the Desert Stele.

Do you have enough spiritual power?

This is nothing.

You just need to tell me what I should do.

Like just now,

transfer your spiritual power to the Desert Stele

and follow the flow of the spiritual power in the network.

Find the past you want to see and recreate it.

Grandmistress, I've lost all my spiritual power.

So, I can't enter the Desert Stele.

Zhang Suan needs to activate the formation. He can't enter it either.

Are you ready to enter the illusion of the Desert Stele again?

In the past, Xiao Jing Shan always hid behind the curtains

and spied on us.

This time, I'll take a look at his life instead.

Let's begin.

My dear.

My dear.

Were you going to leave me behind again just now?

No.

That's great.

No matter where you go, I'll follow you.

- Where are we? - Honey, I'm back.

You are back.

My dear, where are you going?

How is Mr. Wei's leg?

He can probably walk without his cane in three to four more days.

Just now, he kept saying that we didn't have to send him food anymore.

Here. He got hurt while hunting with you.

Moreover, he's alone at home.

We should take care of him.

Yes. You are right.

Let's eat.

Come, Little Bean. You must be hungry.

Dad.

My baby. Dad, Mom, let's eat.

- We are coming. - Have a seat.

Little Bean, distribute the chopsticks.

Here.

My dear.

Sit down.

Why do you keep looking at him?

- You are such a good boy. - Look at me.

Were you a good boy at home?

Look at me.

I was a good boy.

Our Little Bean has grown up.

Thank you.

You can distribute the chopsticks now.

- Okay. - Thank you.

Here you go.

Shan, has Mr. Wei's leg gotten better?

His leg will recover in three to four more days.

- Come. Let's eat. - Honey.

Are you hungry?

Here. Eat more.

Mom, here you go.

What are you eating?

- Give it to Little Bean. - Okay.

I'm talking to you.

Eat more meat.

Mom, you should eat it too.

This is strange.

Why does it seem like they can't see us?

Isn't it yummy?

Here, Little Bean. Try this.

Give it a try.

Dad, don't forget that you promised me

to go to the lantern festival with me tonight.

I want to release a lantern and watch the acrobatics show.

Come back earlier.

Okay. I remember.

Here. Be careful.

- I'll get going now. - Come back earlier.

Bye, Dad.

(Why is it different from what I thought?)

Let's go.

My dear.

Why do you keep looking at him?

Why aren't you talking to me?

Why are you so talkative?

It's beautiful. Look.

Flower lanterns for sale. Come and take a look.

Look over here.

Look.

It's amazing.

So beautiful.

Hurry up or we'll miss it.

Okay.

Amazing!

Wow!

This one.

- Wow. - Amazing!

- Change it again! - Awesome!

- Amazing! - Wow!

You are great!

- Nice! - Wow!

- Again! - Again!

One more!

- Amazing. - Great!

My dear, do you like this too?

I can do it.

I want to go over there.

- Let's go. - Okay. Let's go.

Fantastic!

Nice!

Look. It's moving!

Which one do you like?

- This one. - You like this one?

Okay.

Be careful. Slow down.

Be careful. Stay safe.

Flower lanterns!

Come and take a look.

My dear.

Come and take a look at these flower lanterns.

Honey.

Look at you.

(Xiao Jing Shan, why did you create)

(this illusion?)

The flower lanterns today are beautiful.

Do you like it?

You kept looking at the lantern he was holding just now.

So, I made one for you.

Do you like it?

My dear.

Are you still unhappy that I'm talkative?

Why don't you ever smile?

My dear, you smiled!

My wife smiled!

You look beautiful when you smile.

Smile for me again.

You look beautiful.

(Bai Jiu Si.)

(What should I do with you?)

Why is it daytime again?

(What happened? What did I miss?)

Honey, I'm back.

You are back.

How is Mr.

Why are they saying the same thing?

Dad.

My baby. Dad, Mom, let's eat.

- Okay. - We are coming.

Little Bean, distribute the chopsticks.

Sit down.

Our Little Bean has grown up. You can distribute the chopsticks now.

Were you a good boy at home?

Did you listen to your mom?

I was a good boy.

Today's food tastes so good.

Eat more.

(Is this illusion repeating?)

You should eat more too.

Here, Little Bean.

Dad, don't forget that you promised me

to go to the lantern festival with me tonight.

I want to release a lantern and watch the acrobatics show.

Come back earlier.

Okay. I remember.

Here. Be careful.

- I'll get going now. - Come back earlier.

Bye, Dad.

Let's go.

We should go now.

Where?

Grandmistress, you came back so quickly. Have you discovered something?

There's only one day in that illusion.

And it keeps repeating.

Are you saying

that Xiao Jing Shan used the Deserted Stele to create a one-day illusion

and keep living the same day?

Yes.

Anything special about that day?

I didn't find anything special about that day.

It was just Xiao Jing Shan's daily life with his family.

But I think this is where his pain lies.

Xiao Jing Shan spent a long time

to understand us to drive Bai Jiu Si and me apart.

So, he had an advantage.

Now, he has lost his advantage.

I'll go to Wenxuan Palace to investigate.

I'll come with you.

You need to rest now.

You'll be Grandmistress's burden if you go with her now.

Now, I start to believe

that Venerable Grandmaster is really sick.

Otherwise, with his character,

he wouldn't lower himself to follow Grandmistress around like a puppy.

His illness

has given him a chance to ease the tension between them.

Zhang Suan.

Let me remind you once again.

Don't forget that they are husband and wife.

It doesn't matter.

Marriage.

Is it fate

or is it a trial?

In this world, where there's good, there's evil.

Where there's something visible, there's something hidden.

Where there's God, there's a demon.

Evil is born from the human heart.

As long as they survive,

evil can never be destroyed.

Even a single act of compassion can give rise to a myriad of evil.

Evil comes from the heart and takes form as the Five Poisons.

Greed.

Hatred.

So expensive. And there are pests on it.

- Who will buy it? - There are no pests.

What is this? I'll topple your table too!

Why did you hit me?

How can you be so unreasonable?

Ignorance.

Son, you can't go in there.

Leave me alone!

Son, come home.

She raised his son for nothing.

- Arrogance. - Let go!

- Please give me some money. - Go away!

Why are you like a parasite?

- Please. - Doubt.

- My dear. - Honey.

Come and try

the pastries I specially bought for you.

They are all your favorites.

The Five Poisons will turn into evil that stems from the people's sins.

Here.

Grandmaster.

My dear, come and play with me.

Grandmaster.

Have you not found it yet?

I found it.

The family of four that you are looking for

died on the same day.

Which day?

On the day Master Qing Xu killed the Lei Bird.

Master Qing Xu again.

What happened in that battle?

Six hundred years ago,

Master Qing Xu, Yuan Cheng Hua, led the celestial army

to hunt down the Lei Bird who was harming the people.

The Celestial Fire fell upon Nanwu Village.

This attack killed 12 celestial soldiers

and five people in the Mortal Realm were sacrificed.

They died in the fire.

You beast. You have nowhere to run now!

Mr. Wei, your leg hasn't recovered yet. Why are you out here?

Dad!

Dad, don't forget that you promised me

to go to the lantern festival with me tonight.

I want to release a lantern and watch the acrobatics show.

Come back earlier.

Little Bean.

Honey.

Dad, Mom!

Little Bean, wake up.

No.

Let's risk it.

When I first met Xiao Jing Shan,

he did tell me that his training is for seeking revenge against heaven.

But when he arrived at the Nine Heavens,

he found out that the man died in battle.

- If that's the case... - Bai Jiu Si!

Xiao Jing Shan was adamant about destroying the Desert Stele

because he wanted to destroy the name on it.

I think so.

I heard that the names of the warriors who died

in the Clash of Gods and Demons were engraved on the Desert Stele.

Master Qing Xu's name was on it too.

He put all three realms in danger

just to destroy a name.

Losing someone close to you will make you lose your mind.

I once lost my way and took the wrong path too.

Xiao Jing Shan lost all his loved ones in one day.

Master Qing Xu must be his obsession.

You didn't drag any innocent people into your revenge.

We followed you on our free will.

Now that we know Xiao Jing Shan's past,

what we have to do next

is to find him and stop him.

Yes, Grandmistress.

Yes, Grandmistress.

(Resurrection Formation, Desert Stele, Time Reversal Sundial.)

(Xiao Jing Shan.)

(You created these for yourself, right?)

Who is so rude to come here so late at night?

I've heard that Yinlian Sect has no care for rules and regulations.

Are all those rumors

wrong?

We can be rude to you.

But you can't be rude to us.

Yinlian Sect

is really my cup of tea.

Who are you?

Who I am is not important.

I'm here today to make a deal with you.

What deal?

There are many sects in the world that claim to be righteous

while calling the Yinlian Sect evil.

Do you want to eliminate those

who look down on you.

No.

Others call us evil

because we are unrestrained

and rebellious.

But it doesn't mean that we are evil.

You look like you are plotting something evil.

Naturally, I won't collude with you.

Forget it.

I'm not here to discuss it with you anyway.

So ugly!

Stay away!

I told you many times not to bully our Grandmaster.

Fine. I got it.

Hurry up and release me.

It's too tight.

It's your fault for being naughty.

When everything grows, life will prosper.

When life is peaceful, we can settle down.

It's bad when stability starts to collapse.

When you enter the void, everything becomes nothing.

Four hundred years ago, I killed the Drought Dragon.

I stopped the trial from happening.

I never thought that it would come back in another way.

You are a spiritual beast. You have acute senses.

I'm sure you know that calamity is upon us.

(Do not come back.)

Immortal Fan, it's bad.

Trouble has broken out in Prison Burial.

Greetings, Sect Leader.

Did something happen?

Invisible Kid is just a young child.

Why are you afraid of him?

He said he would eat me.

Go and play.

Grandmistress.

Go.

Why did you suddenly return?

Have you located Xiao Jing Shan?

I'm here to report something urgent.

Recently, I've been searching everywhere

with Dan Yang and our fellow disciples.

We discovered many people with missing souls all over the place.

Usually, when your soul leaves your body, your body will die.

But recently, hundreds of people have fallen into a coma.

And on the fifth day,

they'll die in their dreams.

Today is already the third day.

It's an emergency.

So, I've come here to ask for your help.

Any connections between those who lost their souls?

Where did their souls go?

There's no connection between them.

Some are even miles apart.

I've asked our disciples to tally the number of people who are in a coma.

My bold guess is,

Xiao Jing Shan is behind this.

The Desert Stele that he built

can trap the spirits of immortals.

He must have built another artifact

that can steal the souls of mortals.

He stole so many souls in such a bold manner.

What is he plotting?

Man.

Li Qing Yue!

Do not be rude to the Grandmistress.

Does Jingyun Sect have people to spare?

Can you send someone to go back with me to Yinlian Sect?

What happened to Yinlian Sect?

My mom delivered me a message,

asking me not to go back through a raven. It's not like her to do this.

Our sect must be in great trouble.

Li Qing Yue, you can't be so selfish.

When Jingyun Sect was in trouble,

I stayed.

Man.

Things are still unclear.

Don't be too anxious.

She's my mom. How can I not be anxious?

Something went wrong at your side too?

I just received a message from Long Yuan.

The seal on the Prison Burial has loosened its grip for no reason.

Many monsters and beasts have escaped from it.

Please take care of our Grandmaster for a few more days.

We need to return to Canglei Hall to help them fight those beasts.

Looks like Xiao Jing Shan has made his move.

He has plotted this for a long time.

He knows he can't win if he fights us fair and square.

So, he wants to split us apart.

I'll keep an eye on Bai Jiu Si. I'll keep him safe.

You can return to Canglei Hall.

Thank you, Grandmistress.

Zi Yang. Return to Yinlian Sect with Qu Xing Man.

I'll go with Dan Yang to investigate the people who lost their souls.

Yes, Grandmistress.

My dear, you can't go by yourself.

I'll go with you.

We don't know if the Destiny Bond Spell has been broken or not.

If Xiao Jing Shan shows up,

don't kill him yet. Arrest him alive.

I'll leave Xuan Wei at Jingyun Sect.

If you can't handle it yourself,

retreat

and send a message to Xuan Wei to ask for help.

We can't delay this any longer. Let's split up and get to work.
