(Episode 9)

Don't come near me!

I'll help you out.

Don't come near me!

- Don't come near me! - Wait!

What are you doing?

I've consumed countless spirit herbs. My blood might heal you.

Grandmaster, I have a question.

What is it?

If this place is merely a fantasy realm conjured by Hong Lian,

why did she place so many ice petals imbued with her memories?

Do you think the illusion we saw was real or fake?

Only Li Mo knows the answer.

I think it's real.

Grandmaster, you know this too.

Hong Lian has mixed feelings for Immortal Li Mo.

But in the recollection we just witnessed,

her image of Immortal Li Mo remained untainted.

I don't think Hong Lian needs to fake those memories just for us to see.

And, Grandmaster, you once said before

that Hong Lian was sealed away for centuries. She's way weaker now.

She was able to create a fantasy realm

that could trap you. It's a difficult feat.

Therefore, I have an idea.

Do you wish to...

I wish to destroy this realm.

Stand behind me.

Is this her real body?

Yes.

I was right. The hallucinations were her real body.

Lass, I've underestimated you.

Grandmaster, hurry and capture her.

Hong Lian, follow me back to the Prison Burial.

If so, I shall spare you.

Grandmaster!

Grandmaster?

Help!

Help!

Help!

What's wrong?

The corpse came back to life!

My husband's corpse came back to life!

Don't be afraid. Take me there.

Let's go.

Stop wasting your energy.

- Yun'e, repel all evil! - Dispel!

His corpse didn't come back to life.

It's just the most basic form of puppet sorcery.

I've broken the control spell. It's all right now.

Miss, can you please tie him up?

I'm worried that he might do it again.

All right. Get me some rope.

Bai Jiu Si.

Your spiritual power has dropped more than just a little.

Seems like forcing you out of your retreat

has caused you to sustain serious internal injuries, huh?

Do you know what's the biggest weakness of immortals like you all?

You guys trust people too easily.

Sometimes, immortals are more terrifying than demons.

This is how our sect ties people up.

He won't be able to get rid of his shackle even if someone controls him.

Miss, thank you so much.

I have to go. I'll make a move first.

I saw you casting the Binding Charm on Li Qing Yue in the realm I created.

If I'm not mistaken,

besides sensing the other person's location,

if the other person is hurt under the effect of the Binding Spell,

the caster will bear half of the damage as well.

So, if Li Qing Yue dies,

does that mean you'll be seriously wounded as well?

You want to escape? In your dreams.

It's you?

Why did you...

Why did you guys come to my house?

What?

So what if Xu Ying died? He was a scoundrel.

Why did you guys have to investigate the case?

So, you killed Xu Ying, huh?

He deserved it!

Beauty, where are you going?

Dear, where are you going?

It's you again.

Where I go is none of your business!

You're so annoying! Stop bothering me!

Scram!

- Beauty! - Dear, you're drunk.

You must be drunk. Come home with me.

Listen! Can't you comprehend human speech?

You're either whining or nagging me nonstop!

If you keep this up, I'm going to get angry.

Stop me again, and I'll beat you up!

Dear!

- Beauty! - Dear!

Beauty!

Beauty!

Beauty!

Beauty!

Beauty!

Beauty!

You...

That's right.

Beauty!

- Beauty! - I'm her.

I'm here to find you!

Girl,

I'm not the person you should be afraid of.

Is it worth it for you to end up like this for a man like him?

Are you sure

you still want to lead the same kind of life?

Beauty, where are you?

Beauty?

Where are you?

I was wondering

why people would change.

We grew up side by side,

but why did he become so different?

I wanted to see if he was heartless.

It turned out that he had one after I dug it out.

But why was he so heartless to me?

So, you were already in cahoots with Hong Lian before our arrival.

In cahoots with her?

She was helping me out.

Unlike you all.

You guys came to capture the demon without knowing the situation.

Why are you guys ignoring the evil-doers

while targeting pitiful people like us?

It's not that we can't tell black from white.

We just didn't know the kind of person your husband was.

You did the right thing. He deserved to die...

Stop pretending.

I won't believe the words of cultivators like you all

when you cater your words to the person you speak with.

Hong Lian has done me a huge favor.

Now, it's time for me to return the favor!

Bai Jiu Si, I want to see how you can defeat me.

You're tougher to kill than I thought.

You actually survived?

What if I slash your throat?

Will you still survive after that?

This is a pill that can stop any bleeding. Hurry and take it.

Master will definitely blame me for this.

The person who injured me was in cahoots with Hong Lian.

Grandmaster was pursuing Hong Lian just now.

He might be in danger.

We have to find him quickly.

Li Mo?

You're finally willing to see me.

Grandmaster, are you okay?

Immortal Li Mo!

Leave.

No, you won't!

How dare you hurt me?

This Heaven-reaching Staircase seizes the power of Heaven and Earth.

It harnesses the breath of Heaven, transforms the waters of Earth,

connects Heaven and Earth, and transcends the Six Realms.

If you wish to achieve what other people cannot,

you have to endure what other people cannot.

You'll face the fierce gale, burn alive by raging flames,

and have your sinews torn and bones shattered.

Can you withstand that?

Hong Lian is a Water attribute grand demon.

Master, you countered her with Fire. Although that works,

you yourself possess the Yin Water attribute,

You don't have that much Yang Flame power.

Master, you haven't recovered from your old wounds.

I didn't bring any spirit medicine with me.

And now, your core has been damaged.

You have to rest for a few months to recover completely.

This...

Why have you become this weak?

I thought you'd obtained Four Spirits Grandmistress' Li Flame.

How did it vanish out of the blue?

A spell won't vanish for no reason.

As one strength wanes, another grows.

If I don't have it,

it should be hiding somewhere else.

Master, do you suspect...

Grandmaster, have you recovered?

You should eat something.

Master doesn't need to eat.

Immortal Li Mo, do you want some?

No thanks.

What should we do next?

Should we capture Hong Lian?

We have no time.

I only managed to treat his external injuries.

Master has sustained severe internal injuries.

He needs time to rest and recuperate.

We shouldn't engage Hong Lian in combat again.

But we still have you, right?

I'm no match for Hong Lian.

But you sent her flying with just one blow.

If so, let's request reinforcements from Canglei Hall.

We won't be able to leave.

What do you mean?

My spiritual power has been greatly depleted.

And, Hong Lian has been hiding her true power from us.

Just now, she altered the barrier I cast.

Now, we're the ones who cannot leave the barrier.

It'll be fine.

By my calculation,

Long Yuan should have returned from Xuan Heaven after reporting for duty.

By then, he'll surely rush here.

If so, we can only avoid Hong Lian before his arrival.

That's our only choice.

We have no chance to win if we face her head-on.

Hong Lian has been looking for you all along.

I'm afraid she won't allow us to hide for that long.

(Songhe County)

Immortal Li Mo.

We saw the memory between you and Hong Lian in the illusion she conjured.

In her memories, you guys got along pretty well.

How did it end up like this?

Grandmaster didn't ask you about it because he respected your privacy.

But now, there's no way to avoid the topic.

Why don't you tell us about it? I'll see if I can...

I mean, I'll see if we can do anything about it.

How much do you know about my past?

I know you tried to relieve Hong Lian of her sinister aura in the past.

You even fed her your own blood.

Logically speaking, she should be grateful to you.

Why are you avoiding her?

I avoided her because I didn't want her to be obsessed with me.

Obsessed with you?

Before, Hong Lian injured others to extract blood from their hearts.

She did so to relieve herself of her sinister aura.

Since I met her,

I have kept her by my side for decades.

Initially, I merely wanted to treat her condition.

I never expected her

to suffer from another condition after that.

What condition?

Jealousy.

Li Mo, what are you doing?

Why are you embracing her?

I'm feeding her medicine.

Didn't you say you would cure my condition?

Why are you taking care of all of them?

I'll come up with a way to treat you.

I won't abandon you.

Aren't you abandoning me right now?

You're just like them.

I'll treat all of you equally.

You're saving other people with your blood...

Hush.

If they find out, they might take me as a demon.

It's fine. I'll be fine after putting on some medicine.

It turns out that you treat everyone equally.

What?

What are you doing?

Li Mo, can't you tell that I fancy you?

You don't need to use that trick on me.

The blood of my heart cannot cure you.

Since I've promised to relieve you of your sinister aura,

I'll keep my promise.

You don't believe in my love for you?

It doesn't matter if I believe in it or not.

I told you already. My only intention is to save and help others.

I have no time for worldly affairs.

Stop it!

Since that's the case, I'm the only person you may save.

I practice the way of righteousness. How could I focus on you alone?

If you keep messing around, you'll be disturbing my cultivation.

If so, I can no longer keep you by my side.

Here.

What have you done?

If you wish to save someone, I'm the only person you may save.

I'm the only person you may provide your blood to.

What have you done?

I am but a flower that bloomed by the Naihe Bridge.

My body is filled with a sinister aura.

You can save people with your blood

while I can harm people with my blood.

Aren't we a match made in heaven?

Why did you

take their lives?

I have to make you end them personally

so that you will think twice

before saving other people in the future.

I told you before.

I'm the only person you may save.

Everything's fine now.

You're no longer in a difficult spot.

In the future, I'm the only person you need to save.

What happened after that?

After that,

I couldn't accept that they had died due to my carelessness.

I never wanted to see Hong Lian again.

So, you started avoiding her after that.

I walk the path of healing and medicine.

My only ability is to save people.

I'm unable to kill her.

So, did you request Grandmaster to help you seal her away?

No, I didn't.

By coincidence, Master and Four Spirits...

Four Spirits Grandmistress, right?

That's right.

They happened to pass by the village.

Thus, they joined hands and sealed Hong Lian away.

And so, I came to study under Master.

But I felt guilty all along.

She's stirring up trouble just to see you.

Are you sure you don't want to see her?

I've committed heinous sins.

Now, my only wish is to travel the world and perform kind deeds

to absolve myself of the sins I've committed.

What about her, then?

Are you going to ignore her?

I overestimated myself in the past.

I thought I could guide her to the path of enlightenment.

That's why she committed such a heinous sin.

Now, she has been sealed away.

Master, please keep an eye on her.

She's one of the trials you must overcome.

There's no way

you can avoid it.

I no longer have the will to overcome this trial.

Master, please forgive me.

Are you sure you haven't fallen for Hong Lian before?

No, I haven't.

If so, have you ever fallen for someone before?

No.

No wonder.

Of course you wouldn't understand how stubborn

someone can be when they first fall in love.

That's not jealousy.

It's a possessive desire that springs from love.

I saw how Hong Lian treated other guys before. She was just pretentious.

She only treats you differently.

I suppose it was her first time learning how to love someone.

What do you mean?

I was just wondering to myself.

Although Hong Lian had committed a huge sin,

she's just a demon.

Just as you said, she was tortured by the sinister aura since her birth.

She only wanted to protect herself.

No one taught her how to differentiate between good and evil.

But if you tried to explain everything to her patiently from the start

and guide her to relieve herself from suffering,

I suppose this disaster wouldn't happen in the first place.

But of course, you have no love for Hong Lian.

That's not your fault either.

It's just that you avoided her often and made her insane.

That's quite inappropriate of you.

Lady, I never expected you to be this well-versed in worldly affairs.

I'm the best when it comes to relationships.

I do fancy Grandmaster sincerely.

Master is merely channeling his energy to heal.

He can still hear us.

I know that.

I said it on purpose.

Immortal Li Mo,

is it just me, or does Grandmaster's spiritual energy seem unstable?

Is his injury more serious now?

But speaking of which,

I have the feeling that you fancy her.

I never...

You don't need to deny it first.

There are countless forms of love in this world.

It's not confined to romance alone.

What's wrong?

Be careful.

What is that?

That's Hong Lian's water-based spirit power.

Has she found us?

No.

But she's forcing us to appear.

She's forcing us?

Don't tell me...

She plans to freeze the entire Songhe County.

What about the people inside?

We can't afford to wait for Long Yuan.

If we keep this up, the people of Songhe County will suffer.

Lady Li was right.

Hong Lian kept committing evil deeds all because I avoided her.

Now, it's time to resolve our conflict.

Let us join you.

You're not well-versed in relationships.

I'm afraid you might say the wrong thing and add fuel to the flame.

Let's go there together.

This shield can protect you guys from frost damage.

We have no time to waste. Let's go.

Hong Lian,

you should stop.

It's been so many years.

You still can't change your habit of saving random strangers, huh?

You wish to see me. Now, I'm here.

Do not hurt the people of Songhe County.

I do wish to see you.

But why didn't you visit me even once

when I was sealed away for the past century?

Do you still resent me for having led you to take lives?

If so, why don't I

make you commit further acts of bloodshed?

This way, you don't dare to avoid me again.

You mustn't!

Master, you mustn't utilize your spiritual power again!

I'll help Grandmaster out.

Tone it down a bit, and just get those old grudges settled quickly.

Hurry and go!

This time, I won't avoid you again.

Stop committing the same sins over and over again.

I will accompany you step by step and help you work through it.

Sins?

I've never thought of them as sins.

You were the first to step forward and help me rid myself of sinister aura.

You were also the one who abandoned me and rescued the others.

You were the one who had sinned from the start.

I've never thought of abandoning you.

But you already did so.

For centuries, I have suffered

the torment of sinister aura.

I've never trusted anyone before.

You were the only one I trusted.

But you?

You were coming up with ways to chase me away.

I didn't!

You said you practiced the art of medicine.

You were born to heal the world and save others.

But you couldn't even save me.

How dare you speak of saving others?

What makes you different from all those playboys out there?

Immortal Li Mo, Grandmaster can't keep this up any longer.

It's meaningless to keep debating who's right or wrong.

Hong Lian, if you stop this,

I promise

that I won't meddle with other people's business

until I'm done relieving you of your sinister aura.

This time, I'll keep my promise.

Do you love me, then?

Immortal Li Mo, just say it!

It won't do you any harm anyway!

- I... - It's fine.

I don't need you to say that anymore.

Hong Lian?

Hong Lian, what are you trying to do?

Grandmaster!

Grandmaster!

Hong Lian, that's enough!

Grandmaster!

Burn away evil, and light one's life!

Burn!

Grandmaster?

Yue.

It was you all along.
