Previously on The Amazing Race...
On the starting line in Vancouver...
Welcome everybody!
13 new teams got a game-changing surprise.
Express Pass!
For the first time, there's going to be 13 Express Passes in play at one time.
Arriving at the roadblock in 12th place...
We should use the Express Pass.
Married couple Erin and Javi became the first team to play their Express Pass.
There you go.
Catapulting them into first place.
Woo!
The women of the race took notice of each other.
There's some, like, boss women.
Yeah, girl power!
Let's just have a female team cross that line.
All girls, let's go.
Deja and Dalton and Zach and Nate missed their opportunities to use their Express Passes.
Will Erin and them use the Express Pass?
No, they didn't.
Has anybody used the Express Pass on this?
They have.
And battled each other on the water.
I'm not letting these people beat me.
Ending an elimination for brothers Zach and Nate.
You have been eliminated.
No worries.
Thank you.
Appreciate it.
12 teams remain.
With nine Express Passes still in play,
who will be eliminated next?
Hold on to your butts.
This is where we're going.
Fly to Madrid, Spain.
Ready?
Let's go.
We used the Express Pass on the last leg.
It wasn't something we foresaw.
But I was really proud of us because I think the show,
like, we trust each other enough to make a snap decision and just stand by that.
No, we don't need to run.
It feels amazing.
It feels amazing.
Enjoy the amazing feeling.
I feel pretty good.
I feel happy and in love and happy to be in Canada.
Yeah.
We are off to get our tickets to...
To go to Madrid, Spain.
To Madrid.
Let's go!
Spain, here we come.
Let's go, baby.
Vamos.
Come on.
I don't know why I'm looking both ways.
There's no one on the road.
Let's do it.
Last time we were in Madrid,
it was like on a train layover to go to Pamplona to run with the Bulls.
And we got a beer and missed our train.
Therefore, missed our hostel in Pamplona and had to sleep in the park.
So, it was a bit of a fiasco,
but hopefully this time it's a little better.
We have a lot of time traveling together.
We like seeing new things.
We don't like plans.
He's the only guy I know that would go on a trip cross-country with me on three days
notice.
He's kind of like the ride-or-die dude.
And the dude who I want on my side forever and ever.
Thank you, man.
Hey, thank you, dude.
We have so much extra Canadian bugs,
we're probably going to get a beer later today.
If you can wait here for us,
that would be great.
Silkway travel.
We need to get to Madrid,
Spain on whatever's the earliest arrival time.
So, for this flight, that would arrive about 11,
20 a.m.
entry.
Alright.
I guess we'll do that one.
All teams have booked the same flight connecting through Paris to Madrid.
The great equalizer.
I think we should talk to Joanna and Allie.
They're a very strong team.
We're going to partner with them.
There's a lot of female teams.
A lot of strong female teams,
which we love to see.
I think we're all going to be on the same flight.
We'll all be together.
People tell little girls all the time,
you're so pretty.
And what I would say back is,
it's great to be pretty,
it's more important to be smart.
In my career, I landed with a great company in the medical field.
I'm now Vice President.
Quite often, I was the first woman in the room or the only woman in the room for most of
my career.
I realize what an incredible woman she is.
Like, she's just someone I look up to so much.
Yeah, but now she's a standard for women.
I was a Division I softball player,
graduated Magnum Cum Laude and joined the Marine Corps.
I was able to deploy to Baghdad,
Iraq and lead operations.
And from then, I found the sport of bobsled.
I've competed in two world championships representing Team USA and the Marine Corps.
I couldn't be more proud of her,
of all the things she's done.
Likewise.
We were waiting on you guys.
We like this boss lady kind of like mentality.
Girl squad.
Obviously, we're up with you guys.
You're such a strong dynamic.
And all of you guys, I'm like,
let's freaking go.
We're going to make mistakes,
but I think there's strength in numbers.
We'll definitely pull in Jen and Jodi.
They're obviously awesome.
There is something about the spirit of women that aren't wanting to backstab and be mean
and rude, but just like come together and be like,
heck yeah, you're a boss lady,
you're a boss lady.
Like, let's get it.
Let's bring it in.
Let's bring it in.
Boss lady on three.
I love it.
One, two.
Boss lady.
Let's go.
There has not been an all-female team to win since season 25.
America is ready for two women to win season 39.
The drought, the girl drought is over.
We're going to Madrid.
Oh God, that's so much lower than expected.
We're off to Madrid.
Off to Madrid.
Estamos listos, vamos a Madrid.
Estamos listos, vamos a Madrid.
We're ready to go.
Yeah.
All teams are going to start at the same time,
same position once we get into Madrid.
Let's do it.
Team one through team 12,
we are a big, happy family right now.
We don't need to do that.
It's going to be a total shakedown.
We'll see how it runs.
Yeah.
Madrid, here we come.
Let's do it.
When we land in Madrid,
it's going to get great.
It's going to get great and wild because we're all going to be running for our lives.
The sun shines here in Madrid up to 96% of the time,
making it the sunniest city in all of Europe.
It's here in this 1,000-year-old
city that teams will take part in an amazing race classic that's guaranteed to get messy.
When they land, teams will make their way to the metro station,
located inside the airport,
and find the train to Plaza de Toros de Batan,
where they'll find their next clue.
Oh, that's right.
Let's go.
Let's go get it.
Right here, right here,
right here, right here.
Sorry, sorry.
Excuse me, excuse me,
excuse me.
Oh, careful, guys.
Keep going, keep going,
keep going, keep going.
You got it, G.
You got it, G.
Go, go, go, go, go, go,
go, go.
Bobby, you with me?
Come on, Jojo, Jojo, Jojo.
Daisha, Daisha, Daisha.
Yeah.
Let's get it.
Go straight through, straight through.
Good job, Allie.
We need two tickets.
Destination.
We are buying tickets to get to the Batan metro stop to get to our next clue.
One journey.
Do 10 journeys.
Language.
Okay.
Purchase a card.
Let's go.
Yep.
I grew up in Queens.
I went to high school in Manhattan,
so I had to take the train each way every day.
That's priceless experience,
and it helped.
Great job, though.
We're good, we're good.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Take both.
This way, this way.
It's only...
All right, let's go.
Dad, tap it.
There you go.
Here.
Take one.
Got it?
Let's go.
Let's go.
Go, go, go, go, go.
Operation canceled.
Nothing came out.
We gotta start over.
Let's ride.
Let's ride.
Holy cow.
Go, go, go, go, go.
Shoot, they're all leaving,
Pop.
Don't pay, but do as best we can.
All right.
Hey, baby, MetroCard is right here.
Is everyone on the same one?
We gotta go, we gotta go.
All right, let's go.
Good job, good job.
Okay.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Go, go, go, go, go, go.
Pop, run.
Go, go, go, go, go.
Poppy, go, go, go, go,
go, go, go.
Dylan, hold the door.
Run it, run it, run it.
All right.
You got two of them?
Yeah.
Come on, Code.
Get on it.
Oh, come on.
Hold it, hold it.
Oh, they made it.
Oh, they made it.
They made it.
Dang.
Yeah.
All right, let's go, baby.
I see every single team.
So...
I think we're all on an equal playing field.
The whole pack is together now.
We're all together.
This feels like the amazing race.
We're going to Baton.
Playoffs are dated towards the day Baton is near the Metro stop.
We're at a bullring right now.
We're right here.
Yeah.
So it's one, two, three,
four, five, six.
In the sixth.
It'll be a foot race to get to the bullring.
All right, here we go.
Go, go, go, go, go, go,
go, go, go.
There's other teams.
Yes.
This way, this way.
I'm following you.
Is this the front?
Let's go.
Yeehaw.
Okay, everybody cut up.
Take a left.
That way.
Everyone's going that way.
It's this way.
This is it.
Venata del Baton.
Okay, so we're right here.
Dad, slow down.
Dad!
There's the clue box.
Clue box is straight ahead.
Perfect.
Right there, right here.
This is it.
I see it.
Go.
Roadblock.
Who's feeling saucy?
You are.
I am.
Who's feeling saucy?
Me.
I am.
You do it.
Me.
Connor's doing it.
Boom.
Feeling saucy.
There are some amazing race challenges that are so good,
they just have to be repeated.
And this is one of them.
La Tamatina.
We're never going to find it.
Damn it.
I want to go.
Regarded as the largest food fight in the world,
where tens of thousands of people gather every year to pelt each other with juicy,
ripe tomatoes.
This roadblock gives teams a chance to catch up when they take part in a Spanish
switchback.
Let's do it.
Searching for a clue in this massive pile of ripe tomatoes.
I'm trying to throw it at him.
Ah!
You got this, baby!
Finding the clue will be hard enough,
but getting pelted by this team of enthusiastic locals at the same time could cause some
La Tamatina trauma.
Ow!
Go Riley!
Oh, there we go!
There's a clue inside this?
Keep those eyes peeled,
G!
Anyone see anything yet?
It's a needle in a haystack,
guys.
Come on.
Dang, somebody hit him in the head!
Come on, come on.
They're just pelting us at this point.
It is not nice to be throwing tomatoes at somebody's mom!
It's inside the tomatoes.
I'm feeling saucy, baby!
Ow!
Let's go, Riley!
Come on, Dylan, you can do it!
Ow!
Is it smashing on the ground faster?
No, not faster.
Come on, baby.
Where are you?
Let's go, Matt!
Move it!
He's eating them.
He's literally eating them.
The tomatoes work rock hard.
What am I going to do?
I don't have cutlery.
I'm going to bite them.
Matt, you've got to focus!
I wanted you to, like,
get in there and just,
like, mush up all, as many tomatoes as you could.
I don't know what he's doing.
You looked like you were at the grocery store,
like, peeling tomatoes.
I'm picking it out for,
like, your garden salad.
So not his challenge to do.
Matt can't find, like,
where his socks are in our house.
Ow!
Why can't I throw tomatoes?
Are y'all having fun yet?
Are you all having fun yet?
This is pretty freaking crazy!
And it's making me hungry!
Oh, right.
On any other day, I would love to watch people throw tomatoes at my brother.
Dad, you got it!
My dad is stomach down,
diving.
Dang!
Ow!
Oh, God.
I got a rot in the face with that.
Oh, my goggles broke!
Oh, oh, oh!
I found one!
I found one!
I think this is it.
I think this is it.
Here you go.
Ow, you found one?
Let's go.
Excuse me.
Did, uh, did Aaron actually get one?
Yeah.
Aaron got it.
Yeah, it's like a little silver bullet.
Open it.
Okay.
We got to go to Puerta del Sol to get our next clue.
Okay, let's go.
Let's go!
Keep those eyes peeled,
G!
G!
Good job, G!
Don't give up!
You look like you're having a lot of fun.
I'm having so much fun!
So fun!
When I came out with a clue,
I asked Aaron and Allie,
how do you open it?
Who did y'all give it to?
The thing.
Allie didn't answer.
Aaron did.
You don't know.
Open it.
Thank you.
Don't tell anyone else.
Okay, I won't.
Thank you, thank you,
thank you.
Go, go, go, go, go.
I was surprised that Allie didn't help me in that moment,
even though we had talked about our boss lady alliance.
So I want to talk to her about that and ask her why didn't she help me and just let her
explain herself.
And we'll see.
We're going to the metro.
Metro.
Do you have to take the station?
I don't know.
Off to...
Puerta del Sol!
It seems like everybody's having a hard time.
Dude, this is hard!
Come on, Rye!
Come on, Rye!
Come on, tomato stand between you and a million dollars!
Sorry.
Not you too, Dalton.
Come on, Matt!
Woo!
That's what I'm doing,
honey.
Thanks for those words of encouragement.
Keep digging, Connor.
Keep searching, Connor.
Yup, yup, yup, yup.
Keep working, Dylan.
Keep working, buddy.
Oh my God, this is so frustrating.
Look for Puerta del Sol on the map.
We can get on the train.
Before anybody else.
We're out of here.
Okay, let's get in here and look at the map.
No, right here.
No, left.
Right here, right here,
right here.
We have to pay.
We need to get tickets.
See if I can hold it.
Keep going, keep going,
keep going.
I can't, I can't.
I feel really bad, but they didn't pay for all of their Metro passes to begin with,
so we got in before they did.
Hopefully we got on the right train.
Damn it.
Puerta del Sol?
Are we on the right side?
Is this side or that side?
This side.
Are we on the wrong side?
No, we're on the right side.
They're on that side.
Wait, where are we trying to go?
Puerta del Sol.
Oh, this is Puerta del Sur.
So, that's Puerta del Sur,
not Sol.
Let's go, let's go.
Hurry, hurry, hurry.
Come on, come on, come on.
Come on, quick, quick,
quick, quick.
Hurry, hurry.
Oh man, this is crazy.
The alliance may be a little strained at the moment,
so when we saw them on the platform,
we were just all...
We're going the right way,
right?
Mm-hmm.
This thing.
Right here.
Yes, babe, babe, babe,
right here.
That?
Babe.
We're here.
Javier, he's looking at the actual thing.
No.
Where is this?
It's down there, I think.
Sol.
Sol's the other way?
Puerta del Sol.
And we got on the wrong train.
Because we were going way too fast.
Yeah, we should have asked.
And we should have asked.
Or we should have looked first.
So, now we need to get right into the other train and go back the other way.
Y'all need to get in there,
you boys and girls.
You gotta find a clue,
Dalton.
You gotta find a clue.
I'm trying my best, babe.
My hands feel like...
Yeah.
Yeah, I feel like they're in pain.
My neck...
Oh.
My head does too.
Oh.
Come on, Matt.
Is this one?
Come on, Matt!
Is this one?
Let's go!
Dig deep, Dad.
Come on, Dad.
You can do it.
Check.
He got one?
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Go!
Bradley, great job.
She found one too.
I am so proud of you.
We can win the race.
If I can do the needle in the haystack,
we can win the race.
A couple teams have left,
so I would like to have been one of those teams.
I thought about the Express Pass when all three or four of those teams got it.
But I can think about this more,
or I can focus more on these tomatoes.
What are all those push-ups for?
Let's go!
All right, woman.
It's getting stressful now that so many people are leaving.
We don't need to wait for them.
Let's go.
Matt!
Dad!
I'm not going with me!
Stop!
Do not focus on other people!
Let's go!
We gotta go.
Calm down.
Matt!
Yeah.
Come on, let's go.
Why are you double-checking?
It's our game, not theirs!
We're going to get off here.
Javi, you ready?
Where are we going, Javi?
We need to go up and over.
Oh my God.
We just lost a huge lead.
I know.
So now we are hoping to still be somewhat,
maybe second or third.
Hopefully in the front.
We'll find out in a second.
Don't give up, Dalton!
You got it!
Oh my God, this smells so bad.
My brother's probably going to smell better after this.
I mean, we only have up to go from.
Dej, can we use the Express Pass?
Whatever you want.
What do you think?
It could be the next one!
Yes!
Check!
Check!
Come on, bud!
Oh, God.
Oh, this is the...
Let's go!
Express!
Express!
Are you sure?
Come on!
Just hoping for the best at this point.
Oh, God.
I can't see anything.
There's less of us for them to throw at now.
This sucks.
Yeah!
Let's go!
Let's go, Connor!
Got something here.
We got here first and we're already...
Okay, okay, okay.
Express Pass.
Daisha and Dalton just used their Express Pass,
so the rest of us were just stuck here.
I did not want Dalton to use the Express Pass this leg.
Express Pass, please.
I wanted him to just keep looking,
try a little bit harder,
not give up yet, because we know it's out there somewhere.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Port of the Soul.
What do we need to do?
Make our way to Port of the Soul.
I wish we had used it immediately then.
Using the Express Pass and not getting first place,
it's not smart.
I'm sorry.
Do you feel like you gave up a little early?
Is that it?
Yeah, that's it.
This is it, yeah.
Port of the Soul, right there.
This way.
Dalton, that's not soul.
That says sir, as you are.
It's soul, something different.
Okay.
Come on.
Port of...
Port of the Soul?
Over here.
Smells like tomatoes in here.
Oh, no.
Oh, man.
You know, with the needle in a haystack challenge,
the more needles that get taken,
the harder it is and the more desperate you become.
Yeah.
Ow.
We're covered in tomatoes now.
Ten, ten, yes.
Dude, that was so brutal.
Just like not knowing if you're ever going to find it or not.
Yeah.
Don't touch me.
Because, like, it was moldy.
It was smelly.
And, like, it was wet.
And it was, like, genuinely,
like...
Wait, you're telling me not to touch you because you're looking out for me for once?
Not that I disgust you.
As a brother-sister team,
we don't necessarily need to like each other.
We're going to bicker all the way to the finish line,
but what we have that a lot of the teams don't have is purpose.
My mom has a disease that affects the ear,
the eyes, and the brain.
She's not able to get up.
She's not able to move around a lot.
She's on the second floor of her condo right now,
so our goal is to get Mama home.
And that's our whole reason why we're doing this.
I am disgusting.
There's genuinely a cloud of people,
like, giving space right now of just how absolutely disgusting I am.
Jen, I'm really sorry that I'm not great at this.
You got this, Jodi!
Oh, I got it!
Holy crap!
Sweet mercy!
This is so stressful now.
Quinta del Sol.
Let's go!
How do you feel, Katie?
Do you feel panicked?
I'm a little concerned.
You did amazing.
I'm so proud of you.
Way to not give up.
It ain't over!
Come on!
This doesn't mean you're out,
but I'm gonna be honest,
I'm, like, shaking.
Oh my god.
That's rude.
You're good, Katie.
Just stay calm.
Are tomatoes good for skincare,
Katie?
I know, I was just wondering that.
I don't think moldy ones are.
A little rotten tomato mask?
Katie!
Katie!
Katie!
Oh my god, I got one!
Okay!
Let's go!
Come on, you're the best!
Oh my gosh, I've never been so stressed in my life.
Woo!
Ready?
Let's go, you're awesome.
We need to go back to the Metro.
We need to just not get frazzled.
We're good.
Here's the Metro entrance.
We're so good.
We need to get on the same.
We were on the light blue.
I want the door to close so that the girls don't get on,
even though I really love the girls.
And I want them to do well,
but I don't want them to be here with us.
I want a head start to whatever's next.
So we're taking this?
Plaza de España.
Plaza de España.
We're getting off at Plaza de España,
and we're getting on the yellow line south.
We're going to go this way,
and then...
That way?
Puerto del Sur?
Yeah, that's what we need.
Del Sur?
It's this way.
Yes, okay.
Okay.
Puerto del Sur.
Okay.
So we're headed to Puerta del Sol,
which is the last stop on the train that we came here on,
the Metro that we came here on.
But it's del Sur.
Whatever.
That's what we need.
I'm covered in tomato all over my hair.
I know, look at you.
Those people are rude.
I have bruises.
I'm going to have bruises.
Oh, they were throwing those things.
And they were hard.
Excuse us.
We're in last, but we're not far behind.
Yeah.
We're so good.
Does anybody need to get off because we're blocking the door?
No.
Okay, good.
They're getting off that side,
I think.
Oh.
So.
Sorry.
I think other people might perceive us as a lot more dainty and a lot more prissy than we
probably are.
We worked hard growing up and we weren't afraid to get dirty.
We grew up on a little farm.
We always were like the manual labor on the farm.
Throwing hay bales, cleaning stalls.
Go feed all the animals.
Really athletic and competitive.
We did CrossFit and we run marathons together.
I run ultra marathons,
so 50 miles.
So we might look cute,
like soft little city girls,
but we know how to do hard work.
Okay, once we get there,
we need to figure out where we're going.
There it is.
Portrait of Soul.
Right there in the building.
Let's look for a clue box.
I think we're in first place.
In the last leg, we got 10th.
I don't know if we were like that excited about it,
because of course we want to be in first place.
We are incredibly competitive.
That's being a professional athlete.
Oh, you want to come for us?
You want a piece of us?
Like, let's go.
Bring it on.
Bring it on.
Right there.
I see it.
Yes, go.
Detour.
Okay.
Slice of ham or slice of history?
Hamon is the national culinary treasure of Spain.
In this detour, teams will pick up a leg of hamon at Extreme Puro Extremadura and carry it
across the city to Piro Paco Restaurant.
After paying careful attention to the technique of Emilio,
a master carver, they must prepare 50 grams of ham while their partner starts preparing a
charcuterie board to match a finished example.
Once Emilio confirms that the ham and the charcuterie board have been prepared properly,
he'll hand them a clue.
This detour requires teams to search for 12 lookalikes of famous Spanish icons scattered
around this plaza.
After identifying a lookalike,
teams will be given information about that person's achievements.
I'm a person who bends time and nails clocks.
Salvador Dali.
Once teams have met all the lookalikes,
they must make their way to this nearby game board and then,
relying only on memory,
match these names to the correct picture.
We're cutting the hamon,
the hamon, and we're going to go now.
Let's go.
That was close, Lina.
It's got to be out here somewhere.
Okay.
There it is, right there!
Oh, yeah!
Good job, I!
Okay, thank you.
Okay, detour.
Slice of ham or slice of history?
Let's do slice of history.
Okay, I agree.
Oh, we get to do it together!
Yay!
It's our first one together!
We definitely feel like our relationship will help us move up in the race because we
support each other.
I came out when I was 21.
I talked to Serena about it and she was just like,
okay, that's it?
That's what you wanted to tell me?
Like, what's the big deal?
What's the big deal?
Her receptivity to it was so amazing.
Knowing that you have a person in this world that has your back no matter what gives you
the confidence to do anything.
Our superpower is our sisterhood.
We were frantic on leg one.
Now we're focused and just moving with purpose.
Yeah.
Is this it, no?
Yes.
Yeah.
Okay.
Hi.
Let's read the directions really well.
Yeah.
This is your house.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Great.
We're looking for the Perro Paco restaurant.
Just running with the ham.
Running with the ham.
Babe, to the right, to the right.
There it is, there it is.
Ellie and Joanna just got it.
Hey, guys.
Great job.
Great job.
Good job.
We just saw Aaron and Javi.
He wants to turn around.
We finally got here.
We're going to do a slice of ham.
We're going to do a slice of ham.
Okay, let's go, let's go.
Oh, this is beautiful.
Oh, wow.
Wait, wait, wait.
I'm sorry, it's beautiful.
Bob, this way.
Okay.
To the right, to the right.
It's right here.
It's right here.
I think it's probably under that statue.
Slice of ham.
We're going to do slice of ham.
The ham?
Yeah, let's slice some ham.
We're going to do slice of ham.
Slice of ham.
Let's do the ham.
Your ham?
You sure?
Yeah.
Let's do the history.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
Y'all, if we can knock this out together...
We got it.
We can work together on this one.
We're all standing there.
We decided to all work together.
We didn't have what some of the other teams possessed.
So, be opportunistic.
Who's there with you at the time when you've got critical actions to take?
We thought we could beat them.
So, we're like, alright,
let's do it.
There's only six workstations.
I think we'll be okay.
Let's help each other.
We can all still be in this race if we help each other and get it done.
I agree, that's what it's about.
Let's do it.
There are only six workstations.
We gotta hustle.
Museo del Prado.
Yeah.
Museo del Prado.
Yeah.
Oh, good, it's a packed train.
We've had a lot of highs and a lot of lows today.
I would have preferred a little consistently medium.
Jodi and I are competitors.
We're Ivy League graduates.
We were Division I athletes.
We set high standards for ourselves in everything that we do,
in our careers.
We are still looking for the Puerta del Sol.
I am a forensic scientist.
And I'm a high school history teacher.
I love teaching about the world.
Jodi knows everything about everything.
That's not true.
You're really impressive.
I know a lot of things about some things.
You know a lot of things about a lot of things.
You're never going to see us thrown in the towel.
I am going to need a lot of things cleaned after this.
Okay, up the stairs, across the big road,
straight that way.
Okay, let's go.
Exit.
Take the escalator, escalator.
Does it look like it's down there?
Wait, wait, wait, wait,
wait.
Look at the sign.
It's Puerta del Sol.
That's different.
Okay, I think we should ask.
Do you know how to get to the Plaza del Sol?
You are here in Puerta del Sol?
Yes.
You have to take the underground to Plaza España.
To go here?
Yes, and then you have to take the underground again to go to Sol.
Okay, thank you.
We went in the wrong direction.
Big mistake on our part.
So we've got to get back on the one we were just on and ride it to the other end.
We're fighting to stay in this.
Let's go, let's go, let's go.
Hurry up, we've got it.
Come on, come on, we've got to make this.
Go, go, go, go.
Hold the door.
Let's go, let's go, let's go.
Are you sure this is right?
No, but I need to, like,
calm down and not be frazzled.
I honestly feel, like,
nauseous.
Okay.
Oh, gosh.
Are we here?
Is that our second stop?
That's where we just left.
One, two, three, four,
five, six, seven, eight.
Great.
And then we have to get on a different train.
Navigating the metro was definitely challenging when you're stressed.
I would feel so insecure if I didn't have an express pass.
This is going to be a long ride.
We went the wrong direction like six stops.
Sur versus Sol.
So that was really a big waste of time.
Very easy to mix that up,
though, so maybe other people did,
too.
We're right here?
Yeah.
Restaurant.
Here it is.
We made it.
Great job.
Oh, my gosh.
Workstation here.
When we got there, the gentleman,
the cortador, I think it was called,
showed us how to cut the jamón in,
like, slices that were thin.
Okay.
And then also there was all the cheeses and the grapes set up with the charcuterie board.
Let's go.
Let's do it.
You had to cut 50 grams of jamón and put together a charcuterie board in the identical way
that they had set it up in the example.
It's so nice because at home,
I try my best to make charcuterie boards.
Maybe not sweating this much.
Just like cooking at home with my wife,
Melody, by the way.
Today is our four-year wedding anniversary.
This leg is dedicated to Luna and Melody.
Happy anniversary.
Thank you.
Do you see it?
Nope.
These are our street signs.
Let's go across.
Let's go across.
Let's go across.
Let's do it.
This is the way.
It looks like it could be a museum.
Okay, here we are.
Here are the individuals.
I see them.
When we think we know the names,
we have to make our way to the curator located on Plaza del Murillo.
This is a plaza.
To get the information,
we have to go someplace else to deliver the information.
Right.
Hola.
I am the author of Don Quixote.
Don Quixote?
Don Quixote.
Don Quixote.
Yes.
Is there any other information you want to tell us?
No.
Okay.
Muchas gracias.
I'm a painter who blends time and melts clocks.
And melts clocks.
Look at the clocks.
Oh, yes.
I am the mother of the Spanish feminist movement.
The mother of the feminist movement.
Got it.
Okay.
My husband is Felipe VI.
Okay.
Love your makeup and your jewelry and the dress.
Yes.
Beautiful.
Gracias.
Slay.
Slay queen.
I was the first woman to attend university in Spain.
Congratulations.
There were some people on this end that we didn't get to.
Hello.
I am a famous Galician poet.
I painted Las Meninas.
All right.
Let's go.
Oh, there she is.
There she is.
Hello.
Okay.
Please follow me.
Okay.
Here.
Okay.
Gracias.
Oh.
Oh, they didn't tell us their names.
That's why I asked their name.
Oh, they got us, you know?
Ha, ha, ha.
This is so interesting.
Oh, this is quite exciting.
We got a little lost,
so we're going to go down here and then make a cut down C,
Del, Maestro, Victoria.
I'm very lucky to have a close relationship with my grandson.
We're the oldest and youngest team to ever run The Amazing Race.
I'm 18 years old.
And I'm 72 years old.
I was in the room when he was born.
So, I saw his first breath and been with him ever since.
Growing up, my parents worked a lot,
so I was at his house every single day.
We'd go surfing, we'd go biking,
we'd go hiking.
All his life, we would offer him,
do you want a birthday present or an adventure?
And he always opted for an adventure.
So, we were constantly doing things from flying in a 1927 biplane to jumping out of a
plane on his 18th birthday.
We've gone to 39 national parks together.
This guy does it all.
And as a grandpa, I mean,
you can't have anyone better.
Can I have your pack?
Can you run if I get your pack?
No, I got it.
Let's go.
Bring it on.
Bring it on.
Oh, this one is soft.
Oh, okay.
Got it.
Nice.
This is not wood.
Okay.
This is not...
Oh, then I'll just keep cutting a bit more then.
Yeah, you're fine.
I just want to make this look pretty.
You're doing a great job.
This is how professionals work.
We don't know their names.
When we started, we thought we were going to put the pictures with their role.
Her husband was who?
And then we saw it was names.
So we have to figure out,
I think we should go back.
Because we're wasting time doing this.
Let's go out to the team.
Okay.
This way.
Mish, I see them.
Okay.
Straight ahead.
Oh, I love you.
Another team is here.
Okay.
Let's do it.
Twelve.
Hello, sir.
How are you?
We're Michelle and Matt.
I am the father of Chris.
Stripe shirt, paint brushes.
I'm going to say Pablo Picasso.
Hello, sir.
I am a Spanish explorer that discovered Florida.
Ponce de Leon.
I paid attention in history class.
I love history.
My dad, he loves history.
And he kind of drilled all of that into me when I was young.
La Pasionaria.
La Pasionaria.
Strong, strong.
I'm a famous conquistador that explored Central America.
I'm confident.
De Soto.
We'll go with that.
I was a Catholic monarch of Spain.
Catholic monarch of Spain.
Dali.
Salvador Dali, the painter of Las Marinas.
Yeah.
Galician poet.
Okay, let's get it right.
All right, we're going to go slice some ham and make a charcuterie board.
I'm going to go ahead and let you take point on this because I'm disgusting and I hope
nobody eats this thing.
Because I shouldn't be handling any type of food.
Let's see, let's see,
let's see.
Go ahead.
We're going to slice ham.
Yeah.
So what are we looking for?
Extra amparo, extra maduro.
All the way down, I think.
This is too far, man.
It was a five minute walk.
Yeah.
We're lost.
No, hold on.
Bob, we're losing a lot of time,
man.
I think it's a little further down.
I wish you could.
You can look.
You had every opportunity to look,
just as much as I did.
We have to go all the way down and then a right.
I'm not mad at you, by the way.
You're doing good.
Okay.
Do you want me to carry your pack?
No, no, I'm good.
Just a little bummed.
Hey, don't let that creep in.
I'm trying.
Extreme puro, extra maduro.
It should be on the left.
It's right here.
We have to go downstairs.
Let's help each other.
Let's help each other.
We're together.
Okay.
Bro, we look crazy.
We need Paco Restaurant.
It's on a different street.
It's Calle de San Agustin.
Do you want me to ask?
Yes.
We like working with other teams,
and I think it's worked to our advantage.
And their advantage, too.
So they're getting the directions right now,
and then we're going to follow them.
It's an advantage, so that's really helping us out.
Right now, we're working together.
And they're downstairs to the left.
Thank you so much.
Okay, we're all caught up.
When other teams get there right behind you,
I'm like, oh, great.
It must be nice.
You come in, and we already have directions.
Puro Paco Restaurant,
P-E-R-O.
And it stinks, because what takes us time and is maybe less efficient for us,
because we're actually the first ones to find it,
other people can just follow you.
Which way?
Point just which way.
That way.
Yeah.
Bro, where is this?
Yeah.
There's a bunch of teams right here,
though.
Hola, guapos.
That's our directions.
Y'all follow me.
Y'all follow me.
Come on.
Go, go, go, go, go.
Follow me.
Perfect.
We love ham.
All right.
I'm so hungry.
Puro Paco Restaurant.
Which way are you feeling?
Yeah, just keep going this way.
We've been to Madrid together before,
but only like once, and it's not enough to remember it.
So it was definitely challenging to get around today.
I think it's there.
I think it's there.
You think it's down there?
You know, we're going to try our best to not worry about it too much.
Keep it mellow.
Once we're off this thing,
I'll be in such a better mood.
Think about how many teams think they're out and they're not.
I know.
And there's so many teams racing today.
There's so many chances to beat someone.
And I'm sorry to wish downfall on somebody else,
but I hope someone else got so lost.
Yeah.
Let's go this way.
Is this where you're turning?
Calle de...
Calle de...
That's not the one you told me.
Shoot, man.
We gotta hustle.
Hop, where you at?
Hold on.
I don't know, man.
I'm stressed.
Hey, I don't see that here.
We're really lost right now.
None of these are it.
I think this is it for us.
Extremadura.
I don't think this is going to help you,
Dylan.
This is it.
This is it?
No, it's not.
We got quite lost on our way.
It's pretty bad.
It was frustrating.
This might be it.
Do you speak English?
Yeah.
Thank you.
We're in a race right now.
Okay.
For a million dollars.
For a million dollars.
Oh, God, okay.
Here's the address.
Whistle while you work.
50 grams, yeah?
Yeah.
Okay.
That's a sexy slice of meat.
He's like, I'll be the judge.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
There's another clue there still.
There's another clue?
Yeah.
Slice of hammer, slice of history.
We are choosing slice of history.
Hallelujah!
There was a history challenge.
Let's do it.
Jodi has been hoping for this.
I'm a European history teacher.
Some of them I might know by looking at them.
There's going to be Isabella,
Charles V, Cortes, Vasco da Gama's Portuguese.
I just hope we don't need to really know their names.
What do you do?
I'm a painter who paints time and melts walls.
Okay.
Let's take a shot at it.
We'll figure it out.
Yeah.
We'll be good.
Will you look up something for us?
A famous Galician poet.
Yes, Rosalia de Castro.
They got out way ahead of us.
The sisters.
And then one more.
Someone that painted and also melted clocks.
Delhi.
Oh, you knew that one.
Stick around.
We need your help.
Extrempuro Extremadera.
Right there.
Right there.
Extrempuro Extremadera.
Right here.
Where?
Right here.
Oh my God.
Hello.
Hello.
Extreme is right here.
This guy?
Yeah.
This is it.
Hello.
Hello.
Okay.
This is your house?
Okay.
Hey, pal.
Oh my God.
You guys are here too?
What's up, guys?
I thought we were so lost.
No, no, no.
Oh my God.
This is wonderful.
I'll carry it, dude.
You sure?
Yeah, let me carry it.
The big guy.
It's okay.
The big guy.
He's got it.
Do you guys know where the restaurant is?
It's this way.
Can we follow you?
Let's go.
Hey, man.
Hey, man.
Thank you.
Pop, can you keep up?
I'm trying.
Keep your eye on him.
I'm going to lose him,
Pop.
We're feeling good.
I'm feeling a little bit stressed.
But honestly, I think we just have to wait and see what it looks like at the next stop.
There might be an equalizer.
There might be teams that have no clue what they're doing.
People might be lost going to a detour.
Like, we really don't know.
So I'm not panicking yet.
I'm just sick of being on this train.
I would rather be anywhere else but on this train right now.
Right there.
Right here.
Woo!
That's it.
Go, go, go.
Come on, Dad.
We got it.
We're almost there.
It's so nice to have a little peace and quiet.
Hola!
Hola!
Como estas?
Welcome.
So many teams just got here.
Is there enough stations?
We still got stations.
Let's focus on us, no matter who comes in.
Good job, baby.
Nice job, nice job.
That one looks good.
That one looks good.
I can feel the grease on this thing.
It's going to clog your arteries in a heartbeat.
We got it, we got it right here.
We found our spot, it looks like.
Yep.
Thank God.
Okay, Dad, I'm going to cut,
you just organize.
I was born in Mexico,
I grew up there.
In Mexico, jamon serrano is very popular.
Giving jamon serrano as a gift was something super nice to do.
And if you wanted a piece,
you could cut your piece.
It's almost like turkey on Thanksgiving,
but it's a little bit more special,
I'd say.
I literally cannot even pronounce charcuterie properly,
and I actually don't even eat them.
Because I'm like, it's too much effort,
clearly.
Let's find ourselves a table.
Pull up that bad boy down.
Dad, please, don't look at theirs.
Stop.
Should we triple, quadruple check everything?
It's got to be right here,
okay?
I'm not going any farther until we figure this out.
You're not going to have to.
There we are.
So I cannot express how defeated I was when we walk in there and see every single spot
filled with people.
We have to wait for a spot to open up.
Okay.
You got this.
This one, please.
Thank you so much.
All right, you got this.
Easy.
There's five here.
Right here, five?
There's five, right?
No, there should be six over here.
Six, right.
Here's your girl.
Six points.
We know Picasso.
This is Letizia.
Velasquez was the painter.
Yep.
Isabella is the queen.
Get the monarch, that's Isabel.
Who's this guy?
That's Diego Velasquez.
This is the guy that had that big thing.
That's Hernán Cortés.
It's not De Soto, it's Cortés.
Okay, this guy is like a fraud because he was there.
He's a fraud.
Get him out of here.
Time.
Who melts time?
Who melts time?
Dolly, Hans.
We're close.
Three of the women.
I remember that guy with that beard.
You're right.
Good call.
Put him there.
Are you sure?
A hundred percent.
Yeah, good.
Good job.
Great job.
Now it's between these three.
Clara?
Put her there.
Put her there.
Let's take a shot.
This is a guess.
It's these three that I'm not sure about.
Can we get a check?
Can we get a check?
Can we get a check, please?
Are they already done?
You did one very nice.
Thank you.
You tricked us.
But the hand...
Please, please, please,
please, please.
Yes!
Thank you, thank you,
thank you, thank you,
thank you, thank you,
thank you.
They...
But wasn't they done?
Yes!
That's right!
So good, just so good.
Very good.
Thank you so much.
Well done.
Thank you, thank you.
Great job.
If we win some money,
like, I have to give my dad a cut.
Route info.
Race to Pit Stop.
Miguel de Cervantes is regarded as the greatest writer in the Spanish language.
Honored here at Plaza de España.
This expansive public square is now the pit stop for this leg of the race.
The last team to check in here may be eliminated.
Okay, back on the metro.
Back on the metro.
Okay.
Map.
Yes!
You're so smart.
Let those people slice their ham.
Slice it.
There, that's beautiful.
Now go up with it, up with it.
There, yes.
We can reorganize these cheeses in a sec.
I'm just doing the meat.
You have to do it right.
I have to cut.
Frick.
How many cheese?
Dad, I told you to count it.
Please count it.
Growing up, I didn't get to see my dad a lot.
And so I think we just don't know each other's weaknesses.
We're learning to communicate.
She has one way of doing things.
I have another way of doing things.
He likes to take things slow,
process.
I like to just get things done quickly.
No, leave that.
And so it got really stressful in there.
It doesn't go there.
Can you go look at the example,
please?
Stop.
You don't want to...
What?
Smell it.
We are here for our mom,
and if we got eliminated,
that would be terrible.
I did not want to go home today.
Actually, Jamie, let's express it.
Yeah, I say if we can use it,
we use it.
All right.
Can we use your express pass?
Okay, perfect.
Thank you.
Are they allowed to?
Andrea basically was like,
can they use that?
Are you allowed to do that?
Which rubbed us very much the wrong way.
Are they allowed to?
All right, thank you.
Muchas gracias.
First of all, play your game.
Focus on your team.
We're playing our game.
Mind our business.
It rubbed us the wrong way.
It was kind of like...
Didn't like the moment?
Yeah.
Muchas gracias, senor.
Perfect.
We don't know where half the teams are.
All the ones that we saw in there have been doing it for a minute.
Instead of us struggling and fighting and trying to get there,
we're going to go and we're going to finish.
And we're going to go see another country.
I need your help, dad,
please.
Holy cow, we're back where we were.
Darn it.
And we just stayed with that other team.
I love to backpack in the wilderness.
So I've hiked up the Andes and the jungle.
But somehow we got lost.
The one thing we need to do is keep improving our communication and our mapping.
I think that's it for us,
but...
Never over till it's over.
We are going to Plaza de España.
Two stops.
And then we're going to search for our man,
Phil, and give him the biggest tomato hug.
We are back in the Madrid metro.
Two stops back to Plaza de España to look for Phil.
What a call.
We might win today.
This better be freaking obvious.
I'm going to be so mad.
Detour.
We're going to do a slice of history.
Museo de Prado.
We need to find some directions.
Jodi, I love you and I totally trust your abilities in history,
but I think we just used the express bus.
I'm not sure.
Yes, this is it right here.
Oh, here's a historical figure.
I know some of these guys.
I'm going to say Isabella,
Ponce de Leon, this could be Cortez.
Can you help us find the author of Don Quixote?
Don Quixote?
Hey ladies, where's the Plaza de Mirillo?
Where we check in at the workstation?
Down there around the corner.
Is this really hard?
Yes.
I think they just got it.
Oh, great.
Okay.
When we got there, we thought Daphina and Saran had finished and they're getting
directions to the next spot.
You two are tremendous.
You're going to help us win a million dollars.
They're gladiating right?
Okay.
Oh my God, if you can get this,
Jodi.
I'm just putting these out so you can... if you recognize people.
Our thought process was if we can maybe do it quickly,
let's give it one shot.
This could be Columbus,
Cortez.
That's Cortez.
I rattled off a few different names.
Salvador Dali, I feel like...
Salvador Dali, that's Salvador Dali.
I think that's Picasso.
I was zero help on this.
I didn't know any of these people.
Queen Letizia of Spain is the new one.
You're beautiful.
There was about six that I wasn't feeling super confident about.
Well, I just did not come at that in a way that was really cool,
calm, and collected.
Is Francis Drake here?
Am I in the wrong country?
Diego Velazquez.
Oh, but they're not even...
I think we just used the express bus.
I don't think it would take much to...
I don't see anyone here.
You don't see anyone here.
All right, I think we could probably get it on one more going over there.
I'm totally confident in Jodi and her knowledge and world history,
but we saw no other teams there.
And I know that I can't really bring anything to the table in this challenge.
So I felt that pressure that we needed to get going.
I think we could get it with one trip over.
Do you want to take five minutes?
I don't see anyone here.
You don't see anyone here.
All right, I think we could get it between the two of us,
but...
All right, let's express.
Okay, we're going to use our express pass.
I hate doing this.
I know.
We didn't know where anyone was,
and we felt the worst.
We're using our express pass.
We're begrudgingly using our express pass.
And I think I had said,
like, I think I could get this done in under ten minutes.
But we really were worried we didn't have ten minutes to spare.
Sorry, everyone.
I'm an embarrassment to history teachers.
My profession.
And I'm questioning all my life's choices.
Let's make sure it's the right one.
Okay.
Hola, I'm Daphina.
Jen!
What?
They're still doing it!
I am a Spanish explorer that discovered Florida.
A Spanish explorer that discovered Florida.
We wanted to hold on to that express pass a little longer.
Yeah.
I'm sorry, dude.
Hey, don't worry about it.
Okay, we got a ways to go.
We're doing our best.
Sorry.
Hey, I don't want any more apologies.
We'll just do what we do.
Thanks.
No one else I'd rather do it with.
Yeah, me either.
It's very thin slices,
but also you want to...
Are we doing okay?
...make it look pretty.
See, that one looks good,
baby.
It feels good to be with this many teams.
Anytime you can see other teams,
it's a blessed feeling.
You're killing it.
Hell yeah.
It's 50 pieces, right?
No, 50 grams.
Go ahead, do it.
Those are nine.
I need nine.
That's nine.
This is nine.
Okay, nine.
This is nine.
I need the rosemary.
Here's your rosemary.
He's doing meat world,
I'm doing the...
Welcome to meat world.
...the placement.
I'm making it look prettier.
Got to make sure I'm not going too thick right here.
That's a big deal breaker,
I think.
Good.
Get the judge.
Excuse me.
Watch out.
Be careful.
You got to slow down.
We should get extra bonus points just for that.
That was well done.
I just dodged a little traffic coming inbound.
Absolutely looks delicious.
Yeah.
Yeah.
For two of Kentucky, Indiana girls.
Sorry, sorry, but I don't can have this in the cheese.
The rind.
Okay, carry that rind.
I carry this.
I can cut it off.
You have to cut the skin off the cheese.
I got to cut the skin off the cheese.
Make sure details.
Oh, here, here, arrow,
arrow, arrow to the right.
Okay, it looks like the red shirt.
Okay.
Okay.
There, wait, wait, there's...
Can we use our express pass?
No, sorry, it's been already used.
Okay, let's go back.
Oh my gosh.
We got it, G.
Oh, this is going to be tough.
We have to know the names of the marked individuals.
We immediately asked her if we could use our express pass.
It had already been played.
So, really, our only option was to,
like, stick here and get these names done.
Just the name?
Look at their costume and their name.
We just need one more.
Are you going to switch those?
Yeah.
Hmm, 100%.
Was that Cortez?
We didn't know him.
Okay.
He was the left over.
Okay, okay.
Check, please.
Okay, now, let me see.
Hmm.
I'm sorry, but this is still wrong.
You're kidding.
Let's look at it.
How can this be?
It cuts deep to use that express pass.
I think in under 10 minutes,
I would have got through that challenge.
But I think the risk of going home this early was too great.
And I would like to keep Britney.
Express pass be damned.
Hindsight's always 20-20,
and so...
We're not watching the show from the couch like we normally do.
Being like, everyone's behind you.
Just do the challenge.
We're about to get off the metro,
hopefully for the day.
And find Phil.
How's this one?
Keep your eyes peeled,
babe.
Go towards that thing.
Yeah.
Over there?
Yeah.
Where is it?
Where are you, Phil?
Welcome to Madrid.
Thank you.
Gracias.
Ellie and Joanna, I'm pleased to tell you,
you are team number one.
Chess ball!
Chess ball!
Oh my God!
And I do have some good news.
You have won one key cash from Expedia,
which you can use for a trip for two to Hobart,
Tasmania.
Do you know where that is?
Yes, we know where that is!
Africa!
Africa?
No.
Australia!
Expedia has put together a recommended five-night unique experience with a tour exploring
Bruny Island and its wildlife,
cruising the Tasmanian coast to discover sea caves and waterfalls,
and wandering through Hobart on a local food tour.
Huge confidence boost.
Let's go.
And you know, we still got Phil.
We still got our Express Pass.
That's super impressive.
The main thing for us is just not to get complacent.
It hasn't been a U-turn yet.
There hasn't been a driver's seat.
There hasn't been self-driving.
So a lot of the really tough challenges still lie ahead.
So you'd be silly to think that you have this race in your back pocket.
Because this thing will slap you in the face.
There's my honey.
What's the matter, King?
Don't back away from the tomatoes.
I never want any sauce,
no marinara, no bolognese,
nothing.
All right, well look,
you're team number two.
Good job.
It's so good!
We work so well together.
Even when it's like this.
Yes, it's still good.
It's just as quickly like this.
Looks yummy, yummy in your tummy.
Good job.
Yes!
Everything's stressful right now.
It's a very confined space.
We're right where everyone keeps running back and forth.
At home, my dad is always in the kitchen and making Dalton cook with him.
So it's a constant thing,
my dad being like very picky about how he does certain things.
Oh yeah.
You know, just the pressure felt the same.
It was like I was at home.
But we're working together as a team and we're trying our best right now.
There it is.
I see it.
Let's go.
Here we go.
Let's finish this strong.
Doug and Dylan, I believe,
just showed up.
Oh, the pressure's on.
Let's hurry.
Come on.
We're not out.
Okay.
We used the express pass last leg.
Well, that takes that decision out.
Just glad we're here,
man.
Glad we could see some other teams.
I mean...
Remember, just enjoy the ride.
I'm just happy to be here with my grandpa.
Honestly, a dream come true.
Gotta love that, you know?
Where are we?
Plaza de España.
Where's our boy?
Bill!
There you go.
Cardi and Jamie, you are team number three.
Yeah!
There we go!
So your mom is going to be very,
very proud of you.
We used our express pass.
It's not something we wanted to do.
But she's our everything and she is the reason why we're doing this.
And we're going to keep pushing through for her.
There's one.
Hi, what's your name?
I was a Catholic monarch of Spain.
Wait, did we just figure out their name?
I guess so.
Hi.
I painted Las Meninas.
Hello, how are you?
I'm El Famos Conquistador.
He's Christopher Columbus,
I think.
Maybe.
Just think about this.
The mustache had a collar.
That was Velasquez, I believe.
It looks beautiful, doesn't it?
What did Sally do again?
Good job.
The melted clock?
Yeah.
Yeah, that looked like him.
We never found that guy.
No.
Maybe we keep everything the way it was and just swap different pictures for him.
Okay.
Because we're sure about everything else.
That's what I think.
Yeah.
But wait, we know because he was here,
though.
All of them...
Oh, okay.
Well, wasn't... was he here?
I don't know, but he was.
Yeah.
Maybe this is him.
No, I thought this was Picasso.
But you had him for Picasso.
Oh.
You were sure about him for Picasso,
so let's go back there.
Okay.
Good job!
Yeah!
Yes, man!
Come on!
Gracias, amigo.
Is this who we think,
except him, this is who we want?
Yeah?
Yeah.
Check.
I'm really sorry, but that's not correct.
Okay.
Saran.
Yes.
What do we do?
We're going to go back and try again.
Oh, me oh my.
All right, let's get to Phil.
I see it.
Come on.
Come on.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Yes!
Annemarie and Briley,
pick a number.
Three.
How about in the middle?
Four.
How about that?
Team number four.
Congratulations.
And then Velasquez.
Saran, Velasquez is which one?
The painter.
Oh, the black coat.
Hello, how are you?
I'm known as La Pasionaria.
Hi, who are you?
I'm a painter who paints time and melts blocks.
Oh!
Okay, I've seen his stuff,
but I have no idea what his name is.
Let's just go test and see what it is.
This one here?
Thank you.
Do the one you know first.
Velasquez.
The Queen Latisa of Spain.
Was that the wrong mustache?
Then we went back over to the pictures.
No.
We're kind of like analyzing,
assessing like what we have to work with.
Clara, you hit this guy's Miguel.
I don't know!
And we're like, oh shoot,
like how do we figure out their name?
We don't know Spanish history that well.
Oh!
She's Isabel.
She started the Catholic Mark.
Whatever.
And then, did we decide he was Pablo Picasso?
Yeah.
I feel like we should know that one at least.
Okay, well let's put them up in check and then let's go get more information.
Memory is not my skill set.
Sorry, but that's wrong.
Okay.
Oh my God, I'm literally dying.
Let's go!
Alright.
We're here.
We looked for so long.
All we can hope is that maybe by some miracle we're in the middle of the pack.
Hi there.
You are team number five.
Wow!
And that is a solid finish against some really tough competition.
We did have to use our express pass today.
How did that go down?
Like, who made the decision and are you both comfortable with the decision?
I feel comfortable with the decision with the information we had at the time.
I wanted to take a few minutes at the history challenge.
I would have liked to showcase that as a proud educator.
But anxiety sometimes gets the better of you.
So, what do you do next?
We move on.
And we hope that we don't need that express pass.
I can understand the anxiety.
We don't know what will happen down the line.
From here on out, we have to go hard,
we have to be gritty.
We just have to be our best.
We're last team here.
No point in worrying about it.
You never know what happens.
Okay.
All right, let's check.
Check.
Thank you, sir.
Please, please, please.
Come on.
We can make this up, Pop.
We can do it.
This plate have two problems.
Okay.
You have cut the kiwi in the middle.
No wrong, okay?
Okay.
And the cheese don't have the top.
Okay.
Thank you.
We've had some ups and downs today.
And we're just going to do the best we can until Phil says we can't.
Let's go.
Let's do it, let's do it.
Dacia and Dalton, I am pleased to tell you,
you're team number six.
That would make you team number seven.
Let's go!
Congratulations.
Let's go!
All right, good job, guys.
Good job.
Okay, we should kiss.
I don't like you guys.
Oh, I forgot.
Oh, shoot.
La.
La.
Pasionaria.
La.
Pasionaria.
Okay, that sounds right because she had her fist in it.
Dolores Ibaruri.
We got it.
This was Isabella.
Or Isabel.
Let's go.
Okay, cool.
Do the one you know first.
Elizabeth I.
This lady.
Dolores.
This has to work.
She's Rosalia, right,
Soraya?
Yeah.
He painted the clocks.
Yeah.
And melted things.
Is this Pablo Picasso?
That is Pablo Picasso.
I don't know.
Probably like eight wrong,
but...
Okay, check please.
Girls, it's not the right.
Okay, thank you.
Okay, we're going to try again.
We didn't try him here.
I don't know.
We're going to swap out the one person we're unsure about.
That means we're going to check as quickly as possible.
Check please.
Please give us good news.
Oh, she looks sad.
I wish.
No.
What?
No.
What the hell?
This is so hard.
Okay, we got to stay in it.
Oh, gosh.
Oh.
If you're ready for the adventure of a lifetime on The Amazing Race,
then why not go to cbs.com slash casting and apply now.
Let's look over here.
Is that Clara?
Hello.
Okay.
I've mixed two.
Clara and Maria.
Maria.
Book it.
Okay.
We got it.
A hundred percent.
We got it.
One, two, three.
Turn around and look at that team there coming in.
Yeah.
Give me some.
That was stupid.
Come on.
Yeah.
Let's go.
Well done.
Good job, y'all.
Good job.
NY, Andrea, you are team number eight.
What?
Okay.
No.
Okay, good job.
That would make you team number nine.
Congratulations, Connor and Garrett.
We still have our express passes,
too.
You guys got yours as well?
Yeah, we do.
Yeah, we got this, guys.
Check.
Check, please.
It's a lot more stressful than it looks.
You have a good job.
Thank you.
Thank you.
All right, let's go.
Let's pray, man.
Let's do it.
Let's go.
Thank you.
I am freaking out.
Who do you want to ask?
Last one.
No, that's Diego Velasquez.
Well, that's not Pablo Picasso,
then.
Where's Pablo Picasso?
I am the father of Cubism.
Cubism.
Okay, he's Pablo Picasso.
Okay.
Okay.
Pablo Picasso is the jailbird.
We're still in this.
She's Maria, right, Saran?
Yeah.
And she's Clara.
Oh, my God.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Okay.
Behind you.
Bring the tea, Zeph, Spain.
No, we decided this guy was Pablo Picasso.
Oh, sorry, sorry.
I know those two.
Okay, check.
Come on, come on, come on.
We need really good news here.
Oh, my gosh.
Okay, I think we got it.
Whoa.
Come on.
It's right!
Yeah!
Well done.
Well done.
You tried so hard.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
Let's go.
Thank you.
Okay, great.
Can we get a check, please?
What, what, what?
Can we have a clue, please?
Back on the metro?
Yes.
Okay.
Well, Pop, this could be it.
I think we might be in last right now.
All good, though.
I'm so happy we did this.
Hopefully.
Hopefully we're still in the race.
We're still in the race.
We have to get to Phil.
Please, let's not get lost.
Please.
Plaza de what?
España.
Yeah.
I mean, it's got to pray,
man.
Yeah.
I really hope we're still in it.
I'm so...
Hey, it's okay.
If it's our day, it's our day.
If it's not, it's not.
It ain't over till it's over.
I'm not giving up, man.
No one's gonna give up.
We know we haven't seen two teams since the tomatoes,
so...
Yeah.
The truth test is coming to see what place we're in.
We're going to the plaza to find Phil on the mat.
And we hope a lot of other teams got lost.
To the right.
Okay.
Let's go, let's go, let's go.
To the right.
This way.
Evening, Phil.
I am pleased to tell you,
Doug and Dylan, you are team number 10.
Congratulations.
Congratulations.
You kept me in it.
Oh, my God.
I love you, dude.
Love you, too.
It was all you.
You kept me in it.
Except the tomatoes.
That was me.
That was gross.
Phil.
Oh, my gosh.
Where's Phil?
Phil.
It's got to be the plaza.
He's there.
He's there by the flag.
Okay.
Dude, I swear that's Phil.
No, that's a girl.
Oh, my God.
Not that.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
Over there?
Where?
Right there?
Where's Phil?
Where's Phil?
Where's Phil?
Hi, Phil.
And hola.
Hola.
Hola.
I am pleased to tell you that you will be racing in the next leg of the race.
And you are team number 11.
It's okay.
We're still here.
Yes.
You must be incredibly proud of the fact that you're going into the next leg of the race.
But we'll just continue to grow.
This is leg two.
It's true.
Right?
Yeah.
This is leg three.
We're just going to continue to grow.
Dude, somewhere.
Where's Phil?
Where's Phil?
Okay.
Phil.
Katie and Charlotte, unfortunately,
all the other teams have checked in and you have been eliminated from the race.
Two legs.
I don't think you left anything on the table,
right?
No, it was a great adventure and I'm glad we got to do it together.
It was really fun.
Obviously disappointed,
but we had so much fun.
We're so close.
And it was fun to see that we could test our bond and our relationship and it still held
firm.
Yeah.
I'm really glad I did it with you.
Yeah, me too.
Next time on The Amazing Race.
Under the Moroccan sun,
a new power is up for grabs.
Generosity has its limits.
Yeah.
Yeah, they shouldn't have them.
Satish and Dalton giving them all of the answers.
And everything comes crashing down.
Oh no.
