=Episode 4=

(No updates in 24 hours) The folks in the chat

(Is Lucky Beauty Yu missing?) ask me to check Lucky Beauty Yu.

(Lucky Beauty Yu acting weird)

(Baibai Liu) They said something happened.

Her fate unknown.

- Her injury doesn't look accidental. - Involving Beauty Yu too.

(Check Lucky Beauty Yu) Really?

- It looks like... - It's confirmed?

(That's terrifying) Something happened to Lucky Beauty Yu.

(Strolling Painter joined the stream)

(Communities discussing Lucky Beauty Yu) Is this for real?

(Lucky Beauty Yu missing) The boss lady is missing,

causing such a scene.

(Heard it might be abuse)

Not abuse, right?

Meng,

I brought your favorite stuffed rice cakes

right at your

high school gate.

Meng,

I promise

I won't drink while trying to conceive.

I swear on my life.

- Sir. - Meng.

Sir,

how can I help you?

Well,

my wife is in this room.

Could you open the door?

Well, I'm afraid...

My wife and I

have our calendars

synced up.

Look.

(7:00 PM, Anlan B&B, Room 5105, Yu Meng) She booked this room.

Please wait a moment. Let me check.

Room 5105...

It's unoccupied.

Impossible.

If one day,

I disappear from the public eye,

it must be because of my husband,

Di Liren.

I think I know

what Meng's vanishing is about.

How about

we meet and talk?

Where are you now?

Be right there.

Remember the one

who put the photos of you

and Chen Chen

into Meng's bouquet?

Meng found

she probably lives in Yujing Garden.

How do you know?

Meng told me.

She even sent Meng a threat,

forcing her to divorce,

and demanded to meet.

Forcing Meng to divorce me?

What is she really after?

When?

Meng only told me yesterday.

She was sad and couldn't stop crying.

I asked what her plan was.

She said she wanted

to stay with you,

so she planned

to talk it out.

Know the exact time

and place?

I don't.

Meng didn't tell me.

After saying that,

she went there alone.

There's been no word from her since.

If it's like you thought,

Meng's vanishing

is connected to this person,

she'll definitely

make another move.

Now, she's in the shadows,

and we're exposed.

Any move we make will backfire.

We have to wait for her to move first.

See what she wants.

Will that really work?

What you suspect

is just speculation

without proof.

The time Meng's been gone

doesn't qualify as a case.

If we leak word now,

we'll easily tip her off,

which could put Meng in danger.

You have a point.

How about this?

I'll go check

places Meng usually visits.

Okay.

(He's coming out)

(Follow him)

(Liu Bai) Okay.

I told Di Liren

everything you said.

As expected,

his face changed,

and he rushed straight out.

He should do

as we said

and question that person.

Let's hope so.

But

if he really goes to see that person

and they compare notes,

won't they

realize we framed him?

Will he suspect us?

Since that person sent me photos

behind Di Liren's back,

it means

there's already a rift between them.

There's not much trust left.

(Liu Bai)

Speak.

He got off.

Went into a house.

I'll send you photos.

Isn't this your parents' house?

Liren,

what did Meng mean in that video?

What does she mean, if she disappears,

it's all because of you?

Here's the thing.

Someone played a prank

and sent Meng photos,

saying that I had an affair

with my assistant Chen Chen.

In fact,

Chen Chen has a boyfriend.

I introduced Meng to him.

I thought this was behind us,

but according to Liu Zi,

Meng was still sulking,

saying I didn't

care about her feelings.

So she claimed her vanishing

would be my fault.

Lizhen,

don't get so worked up.

After all,

Meng got her temper

from you.

Meng is a bit spoiled

and dramatic,

but she's my only daughter.

I can afford to spoil her.

But she must have

a reason for acting up with you.

If you had handled

workplace boundaries well

and stopped the rumors,

would she

cause such a scene?

In the end,

it's still your fault.

Mom,

you're right.

Once I find Meng,

I'll apologize properly

and bring her back safely.

Please calm down.

Liren,

no offense,

but you should manage your marriage

just as diligently

as you do your work.

It's an art in itself.

You need to master it.

If you don't have enough energy,

I can return to the company to help you.

Dad,

I've learned my lesson.

From now on, Meng will always come first.

All right.

Meng is fine now,

so you can rest easy now.

He was worried all night

and didn't eat anything.

That won't do.

Ms. Hui.

Get something to eat now.

Just a moment.

Mr. Yu.

Let me check the size.

It's all knitted?

Lizhen,

when people get old,

their blood vessels just shrink.

Store-bought socks

are too tight.

After seeing that,

Hui volunteered,

saying she would knit

all my socks.

These past few days,

worrying about Meng

has made me restless.

It was Hui

who kept comforting me.

Otherwise,

my blood pressure would've

shot through the roof.

She's already walked away.

Still staring?

What are you doing?

I'm just being grateful.

Look at how guilty

he looks.

If he didn't have dirty intentions,

why did he run off?

Mom,

you're overthinking it.

Look.

I'll go

give Ms. Hui a hand,

and have her make Dad some fish soup

to nourish him.

Please calm down.

Ms. Hui,

let me wash the vegetables.

You put those photos in the flowers?

Why?

In case you forget what matters.

I'd never forget.

Wait a bit longer.

I've been waiting.

So,

where is Meng?

You think I know?

Who told you anything?

Liu Zi told me

Meng found out

who put the photos in the flowers,

went to confront her,

and then went missing.

Liu Zi is her best friend.

They share all secrets.

Are you saying

Yu Meng told Liu Zi to say that?

You need to be careful.

Right after she vanished,

the internet went wild,

insinuating that you killed her.

She's just a minor influencer.

Does she have such a huge impact?

Someone must be pulling the strings.

We both need to be careful.

Find Yu Meng, end this fast,

and divorce her.

If she's hiding herself from me,

she won't be easy to find.

Be patient.

Find a way to make her show herself.

(Liu Bai)

How is it?

Sis,

since yesterday, he returned

from Meng's parents' house,

he's been normal.

He just went to work

and didn't meet

with anyone strange.

You must have been exposed.

I am

one hundred percent sure

I didn't.

He's heading out.

I'll follow him.

Gotta go.

What do we do?

Waiting like this

won't work.

Jiao Xu told me before

that value fluctuations in collectibles

are unpredictable.

Since his only physical investment

right now is the art gallery,

let's start with that.

So what's your plan?

Say it in front of everyone.

How dare your gallery

sell me this painting for 3 million?

Not even worth 30 thousand!

Refund!

Mr. Wang,

artwork is non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

This painting isn't worth this much.

When I was abroad,

I saw this artist's work

go up for auction.

The highest bid on any piece

was 20 thousand yuan.

In your gallery,

you marked it up a hundred times!

This is nothing

but an outright scam!

Let's just go somewhere else.

Yeah.

Everyone wants to make money,

but this is way too greedy.

Let's go.

Mr. Wang,

I am so sorry

for your

unpleasant experience.

I heard what you said.

Paying 3 million for a painting

proves you're

a collector with exquisite taste.

You must know that value fluctuates,

but personal passion is priceless.

If you like it,

then it's worth every penny.

In other words,

if you don't like it,

even a rare masterpiece

would be

totally worthless to you.

Spare me the lecture.

Since you're the manager,

just tell me

refund

or not?

I'm sorry.

It's final.

No refunds.

Fine.

Mark my words.

I will expose

your shady shop online.

I'll have netizens

tear this place apart

down to every dirty detail.

Your gallery

won't make another dime.

Just wait to shut down.

Hello, Mr. Di.

Let him refund the painting.

We paid out the previous cut.

If we issue a full refund now,

we'll lose big.

We can't let him make a scene.

If he finds out

I'm the owner behind the gallery,

it'll be even worse.

Besides,

It's a critical stage

for Jiali's new product launch.

Yu Meng's disappearance has already

disrupted the product rollout.

We can't afford any more problems.

But the gallery

is out of funds.

I'll handle it.

Besides,

check who referred him.

Blacklist them.

Okay.

Mr. Long,

I'd like to turn

my 3 million deposit

from February

into a check.

(Bank)

Exposing Di Liren's gallery,

pushing buyers to demand their rights,

forcing Di Liren

to use his slush fund.

Seriously,

you really know your stuff.

For all the money

he took from me,

I'll make him pay back in full.

That's 3 million!

He took it all

without hesitation.

Look on the bright side.

Moving such a large sum

must cause internal friction.

Let's see if we can

lure out the big fish

behind him.

Come on.

You're right.

I'll take Di Liren down

in one go.

Let me take this.

Since the check was canceled,

you should tell me immediately!

Sorry.

Great!

Bullseye!

You canceled my check?

That is our check.

Something happened at the gallery.

(Recording) Someone demanded a refund.

I figured

I'd just pay him off

before he makes a scene

and drags me into it.

Gallery shares

are nominee-held,

and you're

not the legal rep.

Regular disputes

won't lead to you.

The gallery has to stay open.

I just closed a deal

a few days ago.

We'll definitely make more in the future.

I want to secure our future

a bit more.

What we have now is enough.

I want to give you the best.

I'm not that greedy.

I'm content.

So now you think I'm greedy?

I think your ambition

goes far beyond what you claimed.

Are you actually soft on her?

For you,

I never let her get pregnant.

Doesn't that speak for my heart?

Didn't we agree before

that we're in this together?

Besides,

my money will be cleared soon.

(Recording) When the time comes, I'll return

the 3 million with full interest.

I promise

my commitments to you won't change.

I found an overseas institution.

The money's transferred.

A minor gallery issue is nothing to you.

I believe in you.

Mr. Zhou,

any extra cash lately?

Lend me some for cash flow.

For you,

I never let her get pregnant.

Doesn't that speak for my heart?

So that means

all the medication I took,

all the suffering

and injections

were all for nothing?

Yes.

I suffered so much.

I always thought

it was a health issue on my end.

Turns out

he put on an act!

Yes.

Well done, Di Liren.

That's truly vicious.

From the sound of their voices,

that woman was jealous, right?

Exactly.

Just cry.

Cry my foot!

I'm not crying.

Di Liren is shameless.

He hid it so well.

Just you wait.

One should put trash

into the trash can,

not study

how the trash can works.

Exactly.

You're right.

Di Liren gave me this

for our first anniversary.

Throw it away.

Are you crazy?

Why throw away

something so expensive?

Since he's transferred

all our

marital assets,

sell it for me.

I need some cash.

I don't offer that service.

Fine.

(Jiao Xu) Bangle sold.

Money transferred.

(Okay.)

(Insurance covered.)

(Jiao Xu) Plus your livestream income,

you can finally support yourself.

Why not go shopping

to celebrate?

Hello?

Mr. Jiao,

you are enjoying

my misery,

aren't you?

I'm cutting expenses here.

Go shopping?

My goal right now

is catching that cheater.

And tennis.

I know your tennis coach.

My client

is also training with him.

National certification, 900 yuan a session,

right?

Oh, right!

I have tennis lessons

to be refunded.

I charged that much

only because of him.

Forget about him.

Bad luck.

I need to go.

Morning, Mr. Jiao.

You're the only client

who always

arrives earlier than me.

That's because I'm more anxious

than anyone else.

Tell me.

What's the plan?

Before we talk business,

let me bribe

my divorce attorney.

A little gift for you.

This diffuser smells amazing.

It's soothing and calming.

Besides,

I buy their seasonal drop

every year.

You should try it.

I hate spending money on things

that just burn away.

That's why your taste

needs an upgrade.

Then start

by getting me

a more comfortable chair.

My butt went numb waiting for you.

Could it be

that I did it on purpose

so my clients

don't get too comfortable

and refuse to leave?

Okay, down to business.

We're just one spark away

from catching them red-handed.

Where do you plan

to light that spark?

Mr. Di.

In a bit,

go to the gallery

and hand this check

to Mr. Wang.

Okay.

I won't be going.

Mr. Wang,

we should meet at the gallery.

Why are you here?

If I went to the gallery,

could I meet Jiali's Mr. Di?

This is for you.

Mr. Di.

Do you have

anything else for me?

Not much, really.

I just want to meet

the boss of Chuangyi.

I don't know what you mean.

Playing dumb now

won't do you any good.

Chuangyi is yours, right?

Look.

Give me

another 1 million in compensation.

Otherwise,

you can imagine

what scandal I'll stir up

around your gallery.

Use your imagination.

You don't need to tell me this.

Art transactions

are voluntary.

We operate legally.

Employees

might have abused their position,

but it has nothing to do with me.

Mr. Wang, your demand

is unreasonable,

and there is no legal basis for it.

Fine.

Go chat at your company.

What? Trying to get rough?

Calm down.

What are you doing?

I'm calling security!

Security!

Security!

Someone's causing trouble!

Hit me? Are you out of your mind?

Don't actually hit him!

Always causing trouble! Quick!

What are you doing?

Are you okay?

Mr. Di, are you okay?

I'm fine.

Alright, stop looking.

How can you say you're fine?

There's so much we can do

with this injury.

Mr. Dong, what do you mean?

Hold still.

We retouch the photo,

exaggerate the damage,

and make it look

like a severe trauma at first glance,

like you're on the brink of death.

Then we'll have someone

write up an article,

claiming our competitor

tried to derail

Jiali's new product launch

by fabricating smear campaigns

against us.

Under these circumstances,

a Jiali senior executive

stepped up to confront them

only to get beaten in broad daylight,

and is now comatose,

getting treatment in the ICU.

That way, we can naturally

cover up Jiali's recent scandals

in the media

and win some sympathy.

To pull this off,

you'll have to stay in the hospital

for a few more days.

(Breaking News: Jiali Executive beaten unconscious)

(Jiali insider reveals clear source behind recent scandals.)

(Our legal team has gathered evidence of malicious rumors.)

(Mr. Di only agreed to meet them after repeated provocations)

(to stop unfair competition in person, never expecting a violent attack.)

Hold on a second.

One short. No good.

No.

Did you see that?

He saw your cards!

Three of a kind.

Three of a kind.

She held them in front of me.

No...

I didn't.

Not your turn yet.

(Liren)

Sorry,

the number you dialed is powered off.

Please try again later.

Sorry,

(Liren) the number you dialed is powered off.

Please try again...

Dinner's ready. Wash up and eat.

Alright.

Okay.

Flip them over here.

Okay.

Taste our home cooking.

Smells great.

Come on.

Have some soup first.

Okay.

Okay, enough.

Liu Zi, give it to me.

I'll do it myself.

Alright, help yourself.

Quite a feast today.

Yeah, we have shrimp.

Okay.

Mr. Yu,

may I take a day off?

I just noticed

the Rasagiline pills in the box

got a bit damp.

I want to go to the clinic

to get you a refill,

so they work right.

Sure.

You're always so thoughtful.

Hurry back, then.

Will do.

Enjoy your meal.

Okay.

Thanks, Ms. Hui.

(Outpatient)

Stop watching.

He's putting on an act.

Still, he was once

the man you slept with.

Don't you feel any sympathy?

Aren't you afraid

the people you sent

might've hit him so hard

he got hospitalized?

I only encouraged them

to fight for their right

to return their purchases.

I never hired anyone to beat him up.

That just proves Di Liren

has one of those punchable faces.

By the way,

that Mr. Dong

won't mess up, right?

Of course.

Even though Mr. Dong

doesn't know what I'm up to,

he'll always side with me

over Liren.

You're going all out with the outfit?

Of course.

For such a big occasion,

I need a full face of makeup

to hold the fort.

Alright.

(Outpatient) Don't worry.

I've handled everything else.

I already had Liu Zi

play cards

with my parents,

so they won't use phones.

I'm terrified my dad might see this

and get angina again.

Very thorough.

Out of all my cases,

you snap out of it the fastest.

Isn't that eyeliner

winged out a bit too much?

Isn't it nice?

You look intimidating.

That's right.

A true boss lady's wings

always reach for the sky.

That's great.

No need to take a cab.

You can reach far for free.

I can give you a kick

for a free ride too.

I'd feel a bit embarrassed.

The firm reimburses

our cab fares anyway.

I can't just take this for free.

Oh, I'd gladly take it.

Since you don't want freebies,

hand over

that insurance claim

from when you scratched

my car.

Now I see

why your streams are so popular.

Such a massive market

for masochists.

Two... No.

I mean, Ms. Yu.

So we're just gonna wait here

for them to come?

She could

cancel Di Liren's deposit

at a moment's notice.

That shows their financial ties

run far deeper

than we thought.

Regardless of feelings, just for money,

she'll come check if Liren

is dead or alive.

In a crowd this big,

how do we know who she is

or if she even came?

Finger heart?

Heart my foot.

I mean I've got this in the bag.

I already had Mr. Dong

set up the caregiver.

If anyone visits,

he'll notify me right away.

Mr. Di.

What are you doing here?

Are you hurt badly?

Just minor scratches.

Why?

I'm hospitalized.

Yu Meng has to show up, right?

When I heard the door earlier,

I thought it was her.

I didn't expect you.

I called you.

You didn't answer.

My phone broke.

What about her parents?

Why haven't they come?

Liu Zi came over today

to play cards with them.

Phones untouched all day.

They don't know you're hurt.

Something's off.

You should head back.

You shouldn't be here.

Don't worry.

Without an ironclad excuse,

I wouldn't risk coming here.

You're worried about me?

These calluses on your hands

are getting thicker.

Yeah.

If you really died,

my last few years'd be wasted.

Ms. Hui,

what brings you here?

I came to pick up

(Rasagiline Mesylate Tablets) two boxes of pills for your dad.

His old ones got damp.

I bumped into Zhang Tao

getting medicine for Mr. Di,

so I came visit him.

I'm hurt.

My sister's afraid you'd get bullied.
