Let tomorrow's storms descend,

What if darkness veils my eyes?

I cannot see fate's shifting tide —

Yet one heart remains bright inside.

I cradle this heart in both my hands,

Ignore her protests,

Swap sun and moon —

See black or white with my own eyes!

See all beings,

Their wishes realized.

I know where you're headed!

Above the layered clouds.

There's another sky,

another world.

There, we'll go together.

No moon above,

But mountains and rivers by my side.

I don't know why,

I just want this moment of pride.

Through every hardship,

With this body of mine,

I trade it all, To have you by my side.

Don't ask the color of the sky.

If there's no light,

I'll be your Starry River.

The Lonely King

We're going to kill them all!

All demons deserves death!

By the Blade, evil falls

By the Brush, life is born

Adapted from I Eat Tomatoes' original work 《Cang Yuan Tu》

Imperial Preceptor,

are you here?

Imperial Preceptor?

What may I help Your Majesty with?

They say the tundra is now blooming red.

t/n: turn red is a poetic way of saying that flowers have bloomed en masse across the tundra

You dwell deep within the palace,

why not go have a look?

And... while you're there,

might you escort my future empress? What say you?

Very well.

Excellent!

Well, I am the

Imperial Preceptor of Great Yue.

My master warned me

it would be dull.

But my imagination

fell short.

Other than tending to ties with the Dragon Vein,

my hands stayed still.

Well, aside from the odd

errand for His Majesty.

My first meeting with the Empress...

my impression of her was...

a woman who courts peril,

one,

who craves excitement.

The second time I met her,

I very much wanted to mention...

that boat she was on was wrecked.

The Empress had a fiery temper.

She'd storm to the shore and wail like a whale.

She bears little

fondness for the palace.

I understand.

Palace life

is rather dull.

I often plead with the Dragon Vein to venture beyond.

But her...

her anger faded,

and she turned to the blade instead.

I asked her:

'What need does the Empress have of a blade?'

She said:

'A Divine Venerate does.'

I didn't understand her.

Until that day.

As the Imperial Preceptor,

I could not save the capital.

And she, the Empress,

slaughtered the imperial clan.

Only us, a pair of cowards,

survived in the capital.

That night, we marched to our destruction.

To carry on...

the duty of the Empress and the Preceptor.

You fucking tricked me!

Dragon Vein...

You wretches!

Do you think that puny Dragon Vein power can kill me?!

Like hell it will!

I will...

kill him!

Ah'Chuan.

Kui may have been poisoned by the

Dragon Vein and caged for years.

His strength has clearly weakened.

But without the Divine Demon Form... I fear...

Zhuang Sheng,

I can kill him!

I must!

The Empress...

she cannot have died in vain!

Meng Chuan,

you're at the end of your rope!

And now,

that bitch and Asura won't be here to help you!

Come!

Show me what you've grasped within my Thundering Marsh!

Kan: Thundering Stream!

t/n: "Kan" (坎) is a character within Bagua that represents the element of Water, so it is literally saying water, water thunder.

You want to see it?

Then I'll show you!

This is suppose to be your Thunder Art?!

Have you ever wondered

where thunder truly comes from?!

Thunder is thunder!

Thunder is the power that governs life and death,

the root of all creation!

Yi: Lumbering Thunder!

t/n: 乙(Yǐ) is one of the ten heavenly stems, not part of the trigram system. Used in calender, astrology and Five Elements system.

Thunder descends from the clouds!

Thunder...

is not the root of all things.

Thunder births creation,

but clouds birth thunder!

These clouds,

they have devoured away my thunder!

This...

is the Thunder I have grasped!

Thunder Art:

Cloud-Born Thundering Pavilion!

Thunder...

does not stand above all!

IT HURTS!

This bastard...

I, Kui,

was born of the Thundering Marsh!

Born of thunder,

forged by thunder!

Thunder and I are one,

no thunder has wounded me in ages.

I will not fall to you, Meng Chuan!

With Xiang Liu's death,

the Demon Marshal's seat is within my grasp!

And now, I will show you the

true Dao of Thunder!

The entire dimension is trembling!

He's summoning the Demon King's true form, Ah'Chuan!

A form only a fifth-heaven

Demon King could command!

Demon King's true form...

Heavenly Venerate!

This monster's thunder...

what fearsome power!

Meng Chuan!

Your Thundering Dao,

utterly feeble!

You have yet to realize...

your true power!

Heavenly Venerate?

What true name do I bear?

Heavenly Venerate of Thunderous Roar - Empyrean Salvation!

Wrong!

What true name do I bear?

Heavenly Venerate of Thunderous Roar - Empyrean Salvation!

Wrong!

Thunderous Roar...

Thunder,

what weight does

it hold for you!?

What weight does Thunder

truly hold for me...?

Thunder — the ringing of Heaven and Earth.

Thunder

ringing

of

Heaven and

Earth

Through it, creation turns in endless cycles.

Thunder...

is the cry of Heaven and Earth.

Good.

And what of you?

For whom do you cry out?

All creation!

You...

are worthy of 'Heavenly Venerate.'

Heavenly Venerate,

reclaim your throne!

Divine

How has your thunder become so powerful!?

You...

who the hell are you!?

Who am I?

I... am the

Heavenly Venerate of the Nine Heavens'

Divine Venerate Avatar

Impossible! No thunder can rival mine!

Nine Heavens, Eight Directions,

Five Peaks, Four Seas,

all thunder,

My thunder...

how can you control my thunder!?

Now kneel...

before your ancestor!

Ancestor of Thunder!?

Why...

why has even Thunder abandoned me!?

I was... I was

clearly one with the Thunder!

Because...

you have no heart!

I do!

I HAVE A HEART!

I DO!

I HAVE... I have...a... heart...

No,

t/n: littering is not a modern issue.

you don't!

Why...

why did the Empress and

the Preceptor go this far?

Killing Kui...

they didn't have to rush it!

We could've... we...

Because only in

this way will their duty be fulfilled.

And only then

can you build a new Great Yue.

Ever since I knew this brand new future started because of me,

I seem to have taken saving

the world as my burden.

I couldn't help but wonder,

have those who died...

died because of me?

This brand new future...

is it for better...

or worse?

Nanyang Port, I will save.

Great Yue, I will save.

I should have saved everyone!

I thought...

I could shoulder all of it.

Ever since I left Dongning,

on this journey,

every battle,

every single one,

I never fought alone.

It was the Marquis, embracing her death.

It was Ah'Yu, who reshaped the future.

It was the people of Great Yue.

It was the Empress and the Preceptor.

It was them,

all of them, beside me,

that we could finally win.

I know

all beings are like the dawning sun.

When...

will I be like the dawning sun?

I tried to bring salvation,

yet it was the living who brought it to me.

Today, I've seen the living,

and I know I must walk towards them.

The Heavenly Venerate is the Heavenly Venerate.

But I...

belong to the living.
