Let tomorrow's storms descend,

What if darkness veils my eyes?

I cannot see fate's shifting tide -

Yet one heart remains bright inside.

I cradle this heart in both my hands,

Ignore her protests,

Swap sun and moon -

See black or white with my own eyes!

See all beings,

Their wishes realized.

I know where you're headed!

Above the layered clouds.

There's another sky,

another world.

There, we'll go together.

No moon above,

But mountains and rivers by my side.

I don't know why,

I just want this moment of pride.

Through every hardship,

With this body of mine,

I trade it all, To have you by my side.

Don't ask the color of the sky.

If there's no light,

I'll be your Starry River.

The Lonely King

We're going to kill them all!

All demons deserves death!

By the Blade, evil falls

By the Brush, life is born

Fight!

The Demon Hunter

Meng Chuan

by the blade, evil falls | by the brush, life is born

Adapted from I Eat Tomatoes' original work 《Cang Yuan Tu》]

That day,

we watched the Venerates abandon us

- not caring whether we lived or died.

The demons caught all of us.

They chose a few cooks first.

Then they

started cooking - stir-frying, frying, boiling

- finding every way possible to eat humans!

At first,

everyone still wailed and cried, terrified of dying!

Then we all went numb...

Every day,

just waiting to die.

Sometimes an early death might be better

- then it's all over.

Then one day,

a fat demon showed up.

I thought they'd come to pick out something to eat.

A few other old men and I stepped forward

- but instead...

we were kept behind,

told to teach them how to farm.

And everyone else

was taken away.

In the end,

we were taken to the fertile land above.

When I saw that scene of warmth and flowers blooming

- do you know how stunned I was!?

Mount Furnace is a volcano!

How could such land exist here?

And the crops grew so fast it was

unsettling!

A horrifying thought came to me.

I couldn't shake it!

In the end, I couldn't hold back any longer

- so I dug, and dug, and dug.

I finally knew where everyone else went...

They...

became the fertilizer!

Meng Chuan,

stay calm!

There's no one left to be saved!

There still is...

t/n: not sure if they are referring to just the old man or if there are more to save.

And don't forget

- our goal isn't

just to save people!

My Lords!

Behind this wall is

the Divine Smith Hall, where the Heaven Incinerating Furnace is kept!

No one knows what happened to the furnace

- even the Demon Marshal Lu Wu found it troublesome,

and razed the entire Divine Smith Hall.

If you want to enter the Divine Smith Hall now,

you'll have to break through its wall!

That won't work!

The walls of the Divine Smith Hall are cast from metal essence

-unbelievably solid.

The only way in is through the front gate.

How could this happen?

Then what about the Hall of Weapon Spirits?

I...

I don't know.

This is the Hall of Weapon Spirits!

They used its Grand Spirit Refining Array

to fuse all these people together

- it can't be used anymore.

Why are you looking at me?

I never said I wanted

to refine Zhan Yao

and reach the Soul Realm.

Zhan Yao is

being a good boy!

Then...

this infiltration

ends here!

Let's return and plan this out properly!

I'm not leaving!

I want to resurrect Yuan Bao!

You can't break through this wall.

And if you cause too big a commotion,

they'll find you!

I can do it!

I'll dig bit by bit,

I'll get through it!

This isn't the time for you to show off!

I don't want to return empty-handed either!

Meng Chuan, you too...?

With Demon Marshal Lu Wu gone,

now is the perfect time to sever the spatial rift!

But two Fourth Heaven Demon Kings are guarding it!

If you cause too big a commotion,

Lu Wu might come back!

We should hurry back before Lu Wu returns

-gather our men,

and give you

everything you need to sever

the rift!

You...

don't really believe in me either.

What are you talking about?

Of course I believe in you!

How about this

-you hurry back and gather our men.

We'll wait here.

Then we'll

strike from inside and out!

As long as you keep quiet,

the Transformation Art will hold.

What are you waiting for?

Start digging,

boys!

I'm sorry,

Meng Chuan.

I'm sorry for everything I've done

to you

and your friend.

And

thank you

-for everything

you've done for Yuan Bao, and for me!

That's not how you apologize!

Ever learn the 'Little Duck?'

t/n: who remembers this reference?

Where did you learn that?

These past months walking the

Path of Blade weren't for nothing!

This is the first step on the Path of Blade

-the Blade Secret Art:

Iron Smelting Hand!

Lord Venerate,

you did it!

Alright, Ji Yuantong -not bad!

At my current pace,

I don't know if I can melt through this wall

before Lu Wu returns.

Don't worry

-I'll help too!

White-Haired Yan,

what technique is that?

The Sword Sect's Fourth Realm

-Sword Rainbow Drifting Silk.

It can condense the ultimate sword light into a single point,

that way it won't cause too much commotion.

I'm still not very practiced with it,

so this is the perfect chance to train.

That makes it easy then,

I'll stand watch up above!

If the demons make any move,

I'll alert you all right away!

Ji Yuangtong,

let's keep going!

So uh... what do I do?

With all your thunder and lightning...

Just sit this one out!

Path of Blade,

Sword Sect

-Zhuang Sheng,

we can't let them get ahead of us, right?

What are you planning,

Ah'Chuan?

Zhuang Sheng,

Qin Wu thinks I won't be able to subdue

the Three Corpses until I reach Archon

-that's based on the Six-Character Divine Venerate Form,

right?

And what are you thinking?

Then, what about

the Ten-Character Divine Venerate Form?

My brother,

you finally decided to accept us?

Don't you know him by now?

He means to challenge us.

Challenge?

Seems you lot really

don't know me!

I'm here to

kick your ass!

Big words.

You really think the

Ten-Character Divine Venerate Form

is enough to subdue the three of us?

Since you've set foot on my lotus seat,

you're not leaving!

You think you can subdue me?

I felt it

-just now!

you were behind it, right?!

I was dying to sunder an entire mountain!

Last time,

that spoonie said each of you represents one

of my three obsessions!

So I started thinking

-what are my

obsessions?

And you figured it out?

There are two I still

haven't quite figured out.

But I'm clear on one

-'slay all the demons under heaven'

must be

one of them!

And the Corpse representing that one

is most likely you!

You guessed right,

Meng Chuan!

I stand for your

obsession to slay all demons under heaven!

That's how

I bred the power

to slay any and everything

- the Power of Execution!

Kui!

Meng Chuan

-accept me,

and that power is in your hand!

By then,

the vastness of this world

t/n: the literal translation was however big the world is, nothing cannot be cut.

means little to your blade!

t/n: my interpretation is size doesn't matter to his blade, so even the world can be cut.

Want to rest a moment?

We're almost through!

Qian Mu?

Why are you back so quick?

I was worried about you,

so I came back for another look.

Master Yan...

Yan Jin!

What?

Nothing, just

saying your name.

Stupid!

You remember the bleakness of the last harsh winter.

And you also knew the frailty left behind by the warm sun and stars.

You know there will still be lights that shine, then fade

— Fade.

You believe: in the darkest hour, a kind soul always comes.

I, Mei Yuanzhi,

pay my respects to my savior!

I never expected you to walk

the Ghost Path,

So you hold your silence, dancing alone in the wind.

Mei Yuanzhi.

Yuanzhi knew -in death, all things are empty

t/n: this is a famous couplet - from Lu You's (陆游) poem 《示儿》 ("To My Son"),

You reach out — a silhouette lingers where the tears dried.

-but I grieve that I could not see the Nine Provinces united.

t/n: Mei Yuanzhi's name is not just his name here, but also carries the meaning "I originally knew"

Not having seen Junior Brother Meng change the ways of this world

-how could I, Yuanzhi ever be at peace?

So hard to grasp.

So you chose to show yourself now...

I'm afraid it's too soon for Junior Brother Meng

to challenge the Three Corpses.

He said we'll have to face the Demon Marshal on our own now.

If he can subdue the Three Corpses

-even just having their power for a moment

-then that power, the one that can cut through anything,

would be enough to face the Demon Marshal.

So...

I couldn't stop him.

Yeah...

he's pretty

headstrong.

The red bean is itself a fruit —

It will never bloom into any other flower.

There is no slope that must be crossed.

He has too many

friends he cares for

-his endless

ambitions never run dry.

To embrace — the time is as hard as karma itself.

I couldn't stand this absurd world,

After a thousand sails, they are not me.

so I chose to end it all.

t/n: are they saying Mei Yuanzhi chose not to fight the demon when he was a prisoner?

There is no word of promise that will bend reality.

But him... he stepped right into the mire

and pressed on ahead.

Meng Chuan,

accept me!

In gratitude to life.

You'll easily command this power

-to slay any and everything!

How few the sincere invitations

Yeah?

And I can slay you!

To brighten someone else's life.

How could I

To be an ornament along the way.

just walk away?

Not only do I want to see you change the ways of this world

-I want to do it

with my own hands!

Junior Brother,

you give your all for the living

-for you,

I'll offer my humble all.

You believe: in the darkest hour, a kind soul always comes.

So you hold your silence, dancing alone in the wind.

You reach out — a silhouette lingers where the tears dried.

So hard to grasp.

The red bean is itself a fruit —
