Why is she doing that? Is she crazy?

How could you do this to me?

Juhyun, save me! Save me!

The bolt cutter over there!

Gicheon Holy Spirit Church

Wonjung Villa

This spot is taken.

What do you mean?

My husband always parks here.

Everyone knows it’s our spot.

I hadn’t heard. Was there such an agreement?

No, he always parks here.

He’s on his way. Can you park elsewhere?

You see, my mom’s not well

It’s not your designated spot. Let me park here just once.

Where are you? I got a spot. Hurry.

Yes, hurry.

What was that?

Okay, let’s park elsewhere.

We’ll move.

Okay.

Need help, uncle?

No, wait. I’ll make dinner.

Mom, where’s the soybean paste?

In the kimchi fridge.

Who are you?

I’m an uncle from 203 downstairs. Doesn’t your mom tell you not to run?

Can you turn off the TV for a sec?

The immunotherapy or immune treatment is a more viable option than drug therapy.

Youngwoo? What’s up?

Hi, the noise from here is too much, you see.

Really? That can’t be.

He’s too weak to run.

My mom recently had surgery and isn’t feeling well. Please be careful.

Okay, We’ll be careful.

Please be careful. I’ve asked you several times.

I tell him, but he doesn’t listen. Boys, you know.

Neighbors should be more understanding.

Here you go.

Your mortgage cancellation request is complete.

You can check the registration in a week.

Thank you.

Congratulations.

Now it’s truly your home, not the bank’s.

It’s just a tiny place and it’s in my mom’s name.

Still, it’s not easy to pay off a loan at a young age.

You’ve worked hard.

To celebrate, would you like to have a drink with me?

What?

It’s a special day.

My treat...

Ah...

I have to pick up the kid.

Ah...

Hello.

We’re offering free MBTI counseling. Do you have a moment?

Yes.

Thanks.

Please check the relevant items.

Check here?

Yes.

You look worn out.

Honey, did you wait long?

What are you doing? Let’s go, I’m hungry.

Sorry, were you startled?

That church is known for being a cult.

They use surveys and counseling to get your number and approach you.

Be careful.

I see.

If you have time, perhaps we can…

Wait a moment.

Hi. At the kindergarten?

She seems okay.

I’m going to buy some medicine.

Yeji, let me see your face.

I’m good.

Stay still.

Are you okay?

Dunno.

Yeji Choi! I told you that you’ll face many such situations in life.

He teased me first for not having parents.

Yes, he was wrong.

But it’s true your dad isn’t coming back.

We can’t contact your runaway mom either.

But that doesn’t mean you should be down or angry.

Control him with your eyes before raising your hand, okay?

So he never dares to say it again.

“What did you say?”

Hey, you have your uncle and grandma.

No need to be ashamed.

Sometimes parents can a burden...

Think of it as a stroke of luck and hold your head high.

Got it?

Hello?

Yes, hi.

Do you have ointment for kid’s wounds?

The kind that helps new skin grow, and also band-aid.

I told you, I’m not hurt.

If you keep saying that, your dad will worry.

He’s not my dad. He’s my uncle.

I don’t have parents.

Nothing to be ashamed of. It’s a stroke of luck.

Thanks. Bye.

Son! I told you not to run suddenly. It’s bad for your lungs. Are you okay?

It’s Youngwoo Kim.

Hello.

I’m going to a musical with my mom.

Wow, sounds fun. Which musical?

What was it again?

Shinyu... House?

Youngwoo Kim, come here.

Are you still hanging with her? I told you not to.

That church is known for being a cult.

Huh? Hyung Seok? How long were you standing there?

Everyone here?

Let’s start the redevelopment committee and neighborhood meeting.

Recently, realtors are trying to get us to sell our homes, right?

Mr. Juhyun Choi, a realtor.

A trainee, a trainee.

He says he is a trainee realtor.

Anyway, he says this is a positive sign for redevelopment,

so don’t sign any deals, just hold out.

So, when will the redevelopment happen?

Is it really happening?

If we knew that, would we be here?

Does anyone here go to the basement at night?

It’s so noisy at night, it’s hard to sleep.

Why would anyone go there at night?

Right. Maybe a stray cat. People have been feeding cats lately.

Has it started?

Pastor, this way.

Hi.

Hi.

This is Pastor Moon Soo Jung from my church.

He has kindly come to share some inspiring words with you.

Pastor, please share your message.

I have the words of life for the Wonjung Villa congregation.

Sorry, but did you inform us in advance?

Sorry?

I mean, was this arranged beforehand?

We have a residents’ and a redevelopment committee meeting now

Was anyone notified about this?

No.

Remember, we agreed not to have unannounced events?

Like when 403 tried to hold a multi-level marketing meeting,

we made a rule against this.

Especially for religious issues, we should be more careful.

Right.

Can we maybe listen to him another time?

Right.

Pastor, we will invite you again next time. Sorry.

- What was that? - Don’t bring those Jesus freaks!

Mom, it’s a cult Never listen to them.

Hi.

Yesterday was abrupt and uncomfortable, right?

It was impolite of me.

Next time, I’ll make sure to consult with you.

No need to consult just with me.

Discuss it with everyone present.

It was a mistake. I’m so sorry.

Sure.

When did you start going to that church?

It’s not been long.

How did you start?

Well,

It’s like God called me.

There’s a Bible verse: “I have called you by name.”

Why?

Sorry.

It’s just you seem different lately.

Really?

I feel overwhelmed.

Feeling the Lord’s presence makes me grateful for everything.

I see.

But seriously, take care of yourself.

No! You can’t go! No! You can’t go!

Let go! Are you crazy?

You can’t go! No way!

Think praying will cure the kid?

Let go! You can’t go! No way!

You shouldn’t neglect yourself while taking care of others.

Yes, right.

I think so, too.

That’s why I’m doing this.

This neighborhood has good commercial areas and the view is nice.

Hi, Realtor Kim.

Oh, you came at the right time.

The pharmacist across the street.

This guy made a big contribution to the redevelopment committee of the neighborhood.

Are you looking for a place in this neighborhood?

Yes. My work is too far.

I want to invest.

You made a good choice.

Even if they say the prices won’t go up, it already has by 100 million each.

Right. It will go up more.

The commercial area wil revive also.

The air is good and the people are nice.

Are the villa people here like that too?

Mom?

Where did the old woman go?

A very famous teacher is coming this time.

He’s not just anyone; he’s has the gift of healing.

How many times do I have to say I don’t go to church! So annoying!

Oh, it’s hot.

Can I have a glass of water?

Come in then.

This is the real estate manager who goes to our church.

Jaehyun, job hunting is hard, right?

I’ll listen for a bit.

He’s the HR manager there.

Really?

Of course.

The deacon has the gift of connecting with spirits.

You will be able to talk to your late wife soon.

Are they out of their minds?

Excuse me!

Yes, the pastor is blessing the redevelopment.

What? What do you mean?

It’s like a shaman ritual.

I didn’t call you because you seem uncomfortable with it.

It will be over soon, so bear with it a little, okay?

Wait!

What are you doing there?

I followed my dad.

Did the lady from 303 come to your place too?

Mom, did someone from that church come?

Which church?

Did the lady upstairs who goes to that church come by or contact you?

No. The lady from 305 said she started going to church last week.

Mom, I told you it’s a cult.

If someone comes by, never open the door and never take any calls.

Talk to me first.

Yeah. You’re right about everything.

Oh, I’m so tired.

Everyone from this building is gathering upstairs for a prayer meeting, it’s crazy...

Hi little people! Today, we’ll find out about the Open Sky Gate church.

They make an effort to maintain a good image as cults go.

You could say they’re like the Gucci of the cult world.

But as we know, they're a hardcore cult

Once someone joins, there’s no news of them. We don’t even know if they're dead or alive.

Juhyun?

I’m sorry. I needed to check something.

No problem. Have a moment?

Yes.

I ordered lunch, but it seems delivery is taking a while.

Sorry but can you pick it up and bring it to my office?

Yes, sir.

Bring some business our way, please.

Sure.

Please use your influence.

I heard rumors that you’ve met with another bank, too.

You must be hungry.

It looks good.

Oh, no!

I accidentally ordered three lunch boxes.

What should I do? I can’t just throw it away.

This guy can have it.

Really?

Juhyun, you haven’t eaten, right?

Sit down and eat.

Oh, no, I couldn’t.

Say hello. He’s the head of the new town development project union.

Hello, sir.

Nice to meet you.

He’s preparing to be a certified realtor and is interested in local urban development.

I’m just learning. It’s an honor, sir.

If he wasn’t taking the realtor exam,

I would have kept him on as a valuable employee.

By the way, sir, any news about Zone 3?

Zone 3?

It’s redevelopment,

so maybe another 10 years?

The area has business potential and many people are moving in.

This guy’s quite proactive.

But looking at your face, you’ve been through a lot.

No one understands you and inside you’re falling apart.

If the redevelopment happens,

I dream of moving to a better place and improving my life.

Such a miracle will surely happen.

Would you like to hear the words that reveal the truth of life?

Uncle, Komi is missing.

What?

Disappeared from the basement and never came back.

You went to there again? I told you not to.

Huh? Look!

There’s nothing.

Let’s go in. Please.

No, we decided to lock the door at the meeting, so we need permission to go in.

I said I’ll do it. No need to push.

Are you going out?

Yes, to a church service.

A service?

Is that everyone?

Welcome, this way.

I thought the car looked familiar.

You should have told me you were coming.

I forgot about unit 203.

No, it’s not that.

I was just passing and it was so noisy. I stopped to look.

So this is the church you attend.

There are so many people.

Not that many yet.

Do you want to come to the service?

Oh no. I can’t stand crowded places.

I’ll be going now. Bye.

Where did you get the money?

Did you win money gambling?

No, it’s not gambling money.

It’s not much, but I want to repay at least some of it.

I’ve really changed this time.

No, it’s not that I changed, but I was changed. Thanks to the teacher.

Who is this teacher?

What brings you here?

I’m looking for a place, and I wanted to check out the area

Really?

I don’t think there are any places available here.

Isn’t this Ilwol Villa?

This is Wonjung Villa.

Ilwol is one block over.

I see. Thanks.

Wait.

If you decide to move, please come here.

Juhyun…

Long time no see. Have you been well?

Yeah, I’ve been well.

You said you want to atone? Go ahead and atone.

Listen to me.

Atonement is something only humans can do. You don’t have the right to atone.

He wanted to see us, so I let him in.

I’m sorry.

I did some wrong things that can only be repaid through death.

Then you should be dead now. Why are you still alive?

Why are you still alive?

Should I kill you myself?

Get out now! Get out!

You have such clear eyes.

Sorry?

No, thanks.

No?

What brings you here?

I came to check out the atmosphere.

At this time?

Yes, I look at houses at night.

You could say I see things that others can’t.

Why did you go to that church?

Did you see me?

Do you know anything about that church?

Sort of?

Why?

No reason.

Why?

I’m off. See you, maybe.

Sure you don’t need me to come with you?

It’s not the college entrance exam. I’ll be fine.

Good luck.

Welcome.

Come on in.

Juhyun, let’s eat.

How about a game of table tennis after dinner?

Yes, okay!

What a lovely family.

What do you believe in?

Excuse me?

Believe. You must believe.

Believe. Believe!

You must believe! Believe! You must believe!

Uncle, what are you doing?

Where did grandma go, Yeji?

She said she’s going to pray in the mountains.

I’m coming with you.

I said I’d be back soon.

It’s scary being home alone.

Then be a good girl.

Put on your seatbelt.

Hey, what’s up with you?

I can’t reach my dad.

Hello?

Is anyone there? Hello?

Uncle?

So we meet again...

Sorry to startle you.

What’s going on?

Just a moment.

You need help, right?

They call this place heaven.

A Buddhist temple used to be here.

After the blessing, doctors told me the cancer cells were completely gone and

the old house I bought for 20 million won increased to 1 billion. A miracle.

Mom, come out. Quickly.

Juhyun?

Grandma!

Yeji!

Can you see your dad, Hyungsuk?

I don’t think he’s here...

Really?

Drag doubters out of the fire and save them!

Hate even the clothes stained by someone’s flesh.

Let’s pray according to the teachings of our merciful teacher.

Oh, Lord!

Oh, Lord!

Oh, Lord!

Grant us the strength to fight Satan and demons,

and give us a new sanctuary.

Thank you for allowing us to forgive doubters.

Hyungseok, let’s go.

What’s the hell’s wrong with you, mom?

Lord!

What are you doing?

What are you talking about?

How can you join those people?

They’re not what you think.

I’ve done nothing wrong.

Cults don’t have labels on the door!

Are you saying everyone in the villa is weird?

Mom, I’m begging you.

Please just don’t do anything!

Yeah,

I’m always wrong and you are always right!

What are you doing? Why are you disturbing the holy service?

Quiet!

Shouldn’t you apologize about what you did yesterday?

What do you mean?

You dare lie to us?

You ruined the prayer meeting yesterday!

Why did you do that?

You can’t force me to say anything.

You really are a psycho, right?

Speak up. you jerk! Speak up!

Please, calm down.

I raised him wrong.

I’m so sorry.

Hey! I said speak up! Why did you do that!

Hi, can you tell me what your business here is today?

Let’s go out.

I want to see the branch manager just once.

Let’s step out and talk.

Let me see the branch manager and I’ll go.

Let me see him, please.

Just once, please! Let go now!

You said I’m not an employee any more. Then, I’m a customer, so let go!

Branch manager!

I’m fired on the spot?

Fired for violating company regulations by using the corporate card?

So? Anything wrong with that?

You asked me to do it, for fuck’s sake!

Hanseul!

Stop it! Let go!

This is wrong, right? Hanseul! Hanseul!

You should have come to the Lord when we asked.

It’s my fault.

I shouldn’t have pushed the flyers in.

Sit down for a moment?

I’ve been tracking the Gicheon Holy Spirit Church for 3 years.

The sect of the Gicheon Holy Spirit Church is called Gaecheon Moon general assembly,

also known as the Open Heaven Gate.

They teach that believers who complete a certain level of education and receive baptism will attain eternal life

when gathered in one place.

I know the basics.

It’s known that they perform secret ritual acts during the baptism ceremony.

Lord!

Seeing that your mother has already attended the prayer meeting,

she’s likely finished the education.

With the level of intimacy and group formation that’s developed,

it may not be easy for her to leave.

What if we move? If we move far away?

No use.

It’s spread widely across the country, more than you think.

So even if you move, they will follow you to the area.

Then what should we do?

Should I tell you according to the manual?

Or should I tell you the reality?

The reality.

I realized something while tracking them.

Find solid evidence and expose their illegal activities

to collapse them from within.

But that’s easier said than done.

Earlier, you said all this is because of you.

It may be so.

If you have a burden in your heart, you should let it out, right?

Mom! Let’s go!

Stop it. Juhyun.

What right do you have to call my name!

- Come quick! - Juhyun.

What are you doing?

I’m too scared to live like this. I’m leaving.

Mom, are you really going crazy?

It’s Park Hyun-jung!

He’s changed.

He’s a different person now!

No, those eyes are the same!

Mom, you’re being deceived!

You’re acting like your father from the past.

You scare me.

How can you say that to me?

After all I’ve done to protect this family and this house!

Grandma, don’t go. Don’t leave me behind.

Now, now, Yeji.

Oh, what should I do?

Who’s there?

Delivery.

I didn’t order anything.

What is it?

My son has grown up so much.

He even knows how to do things like this.

I worked so hard to protect our house.

I’m not losing it to anyone.

Have you thought about the suggestion I made?

I’m not sure...

There’s not much time left.

Was there anyone among the residents who moved away or was taken to the bank?

I believe.

Amen.

I pray in the name of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Our senior deacon Shin-hye Kwon, filled with grace,

will make some announcements.

Everyone, the baptism ceremony for you has been scheduled.

Another piece of good news!

Everyone in the villa are no longer tenants but homeowners.

Brother Moo-shin Lee in Unit 205 completed the sales contract today.

Thank you, thank you!

Congratulations to everyone for becoming the true owners of our church.

Wonjung Villa will miraculously transform into a new sanctuary.

Send down the fire of the Holy Spirit. Please save us from sin.

Thank you, God, thank you! It’s all turned out so well.

Thank you, God, Halleluja!

Have you been taking a video of us?

Let go!

Give it to me!

Let go!

Give it to me!

Open the bag! Now!

Please, come to your senses, everyone! This is a lie!

How dare you say that?

But if my lie enhances God’s truthfulness and increases his glory...

Then why am I judged like a sinner?

Do you really run the NEOTube channel?

Door to Door on NEOTube. I know you’re a subscriber.

Wait, so all this time, I’ve been watching what you’ve been making?

No need to think of it that way.

I’m not alone.

I have a sponsor.

A sponsor?

I’m the sponsor.

I didn’t know he had the channel when we first met.

It was a coincidence.

I decided to provide sources for his channel and also be a sponsor.

My thoughts remain the same.

We’ll catch solid evidence and blow this open.

Now, we really have to decide.

Can I trust you?

Maybe?

Youngwoo? Why are you here at this time?

Uncle, my mom is…

Youngwoo!

Where are you?

Come in first, Yeong-woo.

Youngwoo, what’s going on?

Yeji, please.

What are we supposed to do?

I’m sorry.

Did my Youngwoo come here by any chance?

No! Get out right now!

No, I can’t

He’s here.

Youngwoo, mommy’s here.

Get out!

No, let go!

Yeji, is Youngwoo here?

He’s not here, get out!

If you lie, you’ll go to hell!

Where is he? Where is Youngwoo?

Are you out of your mid?

Youngwoo, mommy’s here.

Stop!

Juhyun Choi, I’m arresting you on suspicion of murder.

We’ll talk at the station.

It’s not me. I didn’t do it!

Mom!

Mom, it’s not me! Mom!

Mom!

Mr. Juhyun Choi!

Yes.

So, you were suspicious of Mr Hyunjung Park and went to see him.

You just talked, but the church organized the murder?

And this is the evidence?

Yeah, I thought something was strange.

Fuck! Stop calling!

Pastor, if I get my wife and son to join the church,

you’re giving me 10 million, right?

Brother, what are you saying?

Let’s meet on Sunday and talk about it.

I have a home visit, so I’m off.

The person who signed this contract belongs to a cult.

I found out about the contract, so they killed him.

You said someone else went to his room after I left.

How can you be sure it was me?

Your fingerprints were found on his neck.

It’s not plausible that the murder was committed by a cult.

The church is the problem!

There are more victims. Haven’t you investigated?

Listen,

in South Korea, we have freedom of religion.

Are you saying people should be punished for having a religion?

No, that’s not it.

We will ask you to come in for questioning, so keep in touch.

If you don’t respond, you may be re-indicted.

I got him!

Sister, do you think Juhyun wlll be okay?

I did as I was told, but I feel uneasy about how I let him go.

Of course.

Juhyun has a wild side,

Think of it as intense training for him.

The greater the suffering, the sweeter the fruit.

Are you okay?

Yes.

What happens now?

One final step to fully convert her into a true follower.

I think of you as someone very special.

You’re just like my own mother.

That’s why I feel even more attached to you.

You know the kids have a separate service.

It’s our first time, so I’m worried.

The baptism ceremony is like the offering in the Old Testament.

A sacrifice is needed.

Why are you so startled?

Yeji, you always look so good.

You’ll make a great bride of faith.

A sacrifice means a perfect one, under seven years old.

Oh dear.

Where did uncle and grandma go?

Komi?

What?

Mom!

Yeji!

You’re doing good work.

Oh, Lord!

We want to make a sacrifice in your name.

You!

Komi’s house?

No one can leave without my permission until the baptism ceremony ends.

Where are we?

This is where Komi is.

There’s a way to the villa basement.

Only Hyungseok and I know about it.

Eternal life will also be bestowed upon you, deacon,

once the baptism ceremony is over.

Amen.

Thank you for your hard work.

He is aware of your work.

You will reach the true heaven.

Will my Youngwoo get better?

Of course!

Let’s all turn the residents into true owners of this land.

What's going on? The lights are out!

I can't see!

What’s happening?

Pastor! Where are you?

It’s restored!

Why are the lights acting up?

Lack of proper maintenance.

What’s going on?

It seems like someone tampered with the wiring.

What?

Check again!

Pastor,

it’s gone.

Did you bring the seal?

Didn’t you bring it?

You shouldn’t have forgotten!

Ask Deacon Kwon about it.

There she is.

Deacon, may I go home to get the seal?

Really?

How about substituting it for now?

Can’t I go home and get it? Maybe I can make a call?

We told you You can’t go out before the end of the ceremony,

to keep our bodies clean.

I’m worried because Yeji being home alone.

She’s fine. I checked.

But still, I should...

Why are all the kids from this family so annoying?

Lay your hands on the offering and atone.

Please atone for our sins.

Amen.

Sister, you cannot make atonement like that.

What is this? Something seems strange.

It’s an innocent young animal.

Don’t miss this good opportunity, sister.

Sister, you’re not ready yet.

Please make more efforts.

Next!

Please make atonement.

We send these pitiful young souls to the Lord.

Please accept our sacrifice.

Cleanse our bodies by drinking the blood of the innocent young sacrifice.

Lastly, enter the holy of holies with the preparation I mentioned earlier.

Powerful blessing prayers for redevelopment will be carried out on every household document.

Next!

Close your eyes, lay your hands on the offering, and pray.

We offer this lamb, full of love and grace,

as a living sacrifice to God, the Father,

Please accept our sacrifice.

I told you to close your eyes.

Sister, this is between you and me, a secret.

What was in the wine you drank earlier?

Sister,

Wonjung Villa has become one body under God.

It’s time to show our unity and dedication to the teacher.

This is the process of becoming the true owner of this temple.

Yes, sister, you must be very surprised.

But that soul received the grace of martyrdom for the evangelization of the villa.

I don’t care how crazy you are about religion, This is wrong.

Your son is like that and you don’t even flinch, what’s wrong with you!

What are you saying?

Youngwoo! Oh, no! Youngwoo!

Don’t come closer!

I’ll burn it all down!

Don’t come closer!

It’s over now.

Dad.

Is this your doing?

I told you it’s about receiving grace. You satanic bitch!

Grace?

Yes! Grace!

You still believe in that bullshit?

This isn’t grace.

You were deceived. This isn’t grace!

It’s grace! Grace!

Everyone, please calm down.

I can’t breathe. What’s happening?

Give us the household documents! Give them back!

Juhyun?

Deacon Kwon, why are you doing this?

Deacon?

Deacon, no! Wait!

Pastor! Pastor!

How could you do this to me?

You said we could save Youngwoo.

I risked everything and for what?

Shin-hye Kwon!

Saying this won’t change anything.

You’ll only suffer more.

That’s right. Deacon Kwon, calm down.

Especially in times like this, we should rely more on the Lord.

Youngwoo will rise again like Jesus.

Dad, I can’t do it.

It’s scary, all this talk about priests and brides.

Why can’t you? How precious is this grace that returns in an instant?

- Yujin, come on! - I don’t want to. Dad,

- This is receiving grace. - I’m scared, I don’t want to!

It’ll be okay. Come on.

No! No!

Trust your daddy! Believe me!

It’s about receiving grace!

I don’t want to!

- Listen to me. Just listen! Hey! - No, I don’t want to!

Yujin!

Have you ever...

Yujin?

Ever thought of me as your flesh and blood?

Deacon Kwon!

Help! Please! Push! No, don’t push! It won’t open!

Someone, help! Call 911!! No cell phone?

You ruined the prayer meeting yesterday! Why did you do that?

Hurr up and open, asshole.

Shouldn’t you apologize for what you did yesterday?

Why are you harassing us? Why?

Uncle, I’ll help.

We need to rescue them quickly.

Youngwoo.

Youngwoo.

They say with this, you can be happy forever.

It’s the household document to enter heaven.

Hold onto this tight.

The Lord is your keeper, he is the shade at your right hand...

Jackpot, uncle!

We hit a million views in a week.

I’ve exposed the shocking baptism of the Church of Open Heaven.

Since that day, I haven’t seen that pharmacist aunt.

No contact either.

They’re here!

Oh my, we did it. The redevelopment got approved!

I don’t know if I should celebrate or what...

How much profit should I make on my residential right?
