I didn't do this intentionally,
I know I didn't do this intentionally.
She was chasing me at 100 miles an hour.
We start cat and mousing each other.
[tires squeal]
And he's telling her I can't breathe.
I just imagined it like in a movie scene.
He loved his wife, but he also loved younger women.
And I know I'm the bad person here,
just because I was with a married man,
but nobody knows the true story behind it.
[chilling music]
[narrator] On October 10, 2013,
Bill Hall is on a road trip
with his lover and mistress, Bonnie Contreras.
We were supposed to go on a bike rally
and his bike was at the storage unit
that only him and I had access to.
We left and I was driving.
I was driving the Range Rover and he got on his bike
and we were driving down 1604
going towards Macdona Lacoste Road.
[narrator] Bill and Bonnie were not the only ones
on the road that day.
Bill's wife Frances is on her way to see family.
[Frances] So I go to a volleyball game.
My niece was having a volleyball game.
Only one way to getúout of that school and go home,
the only way I could go home, ú 'cause it was off the 1604.
[Alicia] She is at a stop light,
where, all of a sudden, ú she looks in front of her
and she sees her husband Billú in his motorcycle drive by,
and she sees Bonnie Contreras
in the family's Range Rover right behind him.
[Frances] Here comes the Range Rover,
and I know she saw me.
My God, this girl knows the VIN number to my cars.
She's coming, and she starts giving me... the bird.
And I was like, "oh no".
So when Frances Hall saw Bonnie Contreras,
give her the finger as she was passing that stop light,
she felt the rage, she saw red.
And she decided, today's the day,
I'm going to go and confront this woman.
And just wasn't thinking clearly from beyond that point.
And I turned around. And there we go.
We start cat and mousing each other.
I wasn't looking at my speedometer.
There was cars, she'd pass a car
and I'd pass right in back of her.
She'd step on the brake and I'd come close.
Then we just started going down the street.
It seemed like for miles.
And all through the time, I kind of move over
and I'd tell her, "Pull over."
"Nope."
I was terrified,
the only thing that was going through my head was Bill
and me flipping over
because we were going so fast, there was so many cars.
She was chasing me at a hundred miles an hour.
My name is Alicia Neaves
and I am an anchor and reporter with
KENS5 News in San Antonio, Texas.
Live downtown, Alicia Neaves, ú KENS5 Eyewitness News.
Reporting live tonight, Alicia Neaves, KENS5.
Live on the northwest side, Alicia Neaves, KENS5.
We are in novella country here.
Soap operas.
We cannot get enough of them here in San Antonio.
Our top story at 10, murder over jealously
A missing San Antonio woman
believed to be murdered by her own husband.
A woman killed her husband in Universal City.
And this case, really felt like the soap opera and novellas
we love to watch, came to life.
I mean, this case had everything, you know,
the older wife, the younger mistress,
the wealthy man leading a double life.
Who is gonna turn away from the TV at that point?
So San Antonio just became captivated by this case.
[narrator] The story of Bill and Frances Hall
begins in high school on the west side of San Antonio.
[Frances] I remember us living in the projects.
They were called the Cassiano Homes,
and we come from very, very humble beginnings.
When I'm saying humble... Poor, poverty level poor.
[Leigh] Bill lived fairly close to her and they met.
They were high school sweethearts.
They met then when I thinkúFrances was 15 or 16 years old.
She was working at a movie theatre,
and they started dating after that,
and this love affair began, úand they've never looked back.
Bill Hall Jr. is the budding cowboy.
He's got the hats, the cowboy boots,
I mean, the whole shebang.
[Frances] I thought he was the most cutest guy I had ever met.
I mean, he had a baby face and the most prettiest smile,
the most cutest nose.
I mean, Bill was just... he was hot.
He looked good in his jeans too.
He goes, "Let's get married."
And I was like, "Shut up."
And when I turned back, he got down his knees
in front of a side door that we came in.
We got married at 18.
So I was coming into what?
Out of sophomore, my junior year,
and then we dated all through the...
All my senior year, all of it.
And then we decided to get married.
[narrator] The young couple have two children.
All the while,
Bill sets his sights on a big business venture.
[Alicia] Bill decided to be an entrepreneur
and start a trucking company.
And in the early 1980s,
the couple gets their first truck.
They hire about half a dozen employees,
and they create Bill Hall Jr.'s Trucking.
By 1989, they have like a hundred trucks.
[Alicia] One of the most successful, still, in Texas
and in San Antonio.
I bought him a, I'll never forget it,
a Harley-Davidson, a V-Rod for his 40th birthday.
I didn't want it because I had heard, you know,
all these bad stories about motorcycles and this and that.
And "come on", okay so...
I got him the V-Rod, it took off from there,
That he traded... Two, three years later,
he traded it and got another one.
And then he bought another one.
And he loved the motorcycles.
He loved them.
[Alicia] The fact is that Bill Hall loved his family,
and he loved his wife.
But he also loved younger women.
And he, unfortunately, got caught up
in a very toxic, love triangle that the whole city knew about.
[narrator] In the summer of 2010,
27-year-old Bonnie Contreras
catches Bill Hall's eye.
He is 47.
I first met Bill whenú I was at a spinach festival
in my hometown.
I was actually helping myúaunt sell chicken on a stick.
And, you know, he was passing by with a group of friends,
and, you know, they kind of just, you know,
backtrack themselves back to the booth.
Then Bill and I just started talking
and I kind of just ignored everybody else
and you know we kind of hit it off right away.
A week later I find out that he's looking for me.
He asked me if I wanted to go out for lunch.
I accepted, of course, the invitation.
He took me out, our first date
was at a restaurant called Scuzzi's.
It's an Italian restaurant.
I asked him, I said, "are you married?"
He said, "yes, I'm married, I'm separated."
And, you know, "I'm going through divorce."
So after that, I felt like it wasn't a necessity
for me to keep hounding him about it,
or for me to keep asking him questions about his family.
He was a very special man that came into my life.
You know, when I was only 27 years old,
we connected right away.
He was special to my mom and my daughter
and my whole family.
You know, he became a part of the family.
He was going to become my husband one day.
And in the future, you know, the future father of my kids.
I wasn't trying to hurt anybody.
You know, I wasn't trying to hurt her.
[narrator] After decades of marriage to Frances,
Bill Hall Jr. begins to lead a double life.
I think it's easier for him to have the wife
and keep her on the side.
He had no intention of puttingúthat woman in Frances' place,
ever.
You ask his cousins, his sisters,
his extended family, everyone that worked for him,
they knew Bill. They knew where his heart was,
and maybe his heart and his...
genitalia were in different rooms.
[Bonnie] Bill never talked bad about his wife.
He said, "You know, I'm always gonna love her.
She's the mother of my kids.
You know, she gave me 32 years of her life.
You know, I'm always gonna respect her for that, he goes,
but I'm just not in love with her no more.
So I just kind of left it like that.
One day led you know, after another,
a week, then a month, then years.
[narrator] Bill Hall's doublelife continues for three years.
[Bonnie] We were together every day.
Every day, he would come to my home, to my house.
Anywhere from like six, seven o'clock in the morning.
We'd spend all day together,
lunch, you know, breakfast, dinner.
He was very loving, very free-spirited person.
He was just a very caring and loving person.
I would have never, in a million years,
guess that my husband hadú been living a double life.
Never. We were so in sync.
It's so weird because people have said, well, you know,
she put up with his ways and she knew about it.
No, I didn't. No, I didn't.
I, not once did I know that Bill
had been messing around behind my back or anything like that.
I wasn't the type of woman
that, oh, okay, well, as long as he comes home to me
and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Uh uh.
Uh uh, I'm Hispanic. I got some spunk in me.
What's crazy to me is how Frances Hall
said she had no idea of her husband's affair.
Bonnie Contreras says that Bill Hall Jr.
Would spend an entire day or days with her,
but yet Frances said she had no idea
that her husband was being unfaithful.
Bonnie and Bill even made Christmas cards together.
[Bonnie] And it just, you know, it kind of just started
getting more intense.
In 2013, Bill starts to get a little tired
of this relationship.
So the money spigot starts to turn off.
And Bonnie is wondering, what is going on?
I'm losing my man, my money.
And so she starts texting him.
And he's... Now he's not responding like he used to.
It's becoming pretty clear that Bonnie's man
and her lavish lifestyle are coming to an end.
[narrator] The secret life will soon unravel
when an unknown caller reaches out to Frances.
[Frances] And all I heard is "Frances?"
And I go, "Yeah."
She goes, "Uh, you don't know who I am,
but I need to talk to your about your husband."
And I thought, oh my God, he's been in an accident.
Mind you, my two sisters are with me.
And they're cops.
I said, "what's wrong with Bill?"
And both of them like what?
And she went on,
"no, I need to talk to you about Bill.
I've been having an affair with Bill.
And we need to talk because this needs to stop.
We need to get this out in the open."
Yeah, I told her, "OK,
give me about 30 minutes, me at my office,
let me give you the directions."
She goes, "I know where it's at."
And, oh God, I was like...
Frances, she was... She was angry with Bill.
I think she was hurt.
And she felt humiliated.
I went to the restroom and I called him, "hey."
He goes, " Hey Vieja, what's up?"
I go some woman called me,
He goes, "Just come to the office."
I go, "What's going on?" He goes...
And by then he's crying.
He goes, "Come to the office."
I go, "I'll be there in a minute."
I mean, did I get mad?
Did I have a temper, of course I did.
I grabbed his phone, I threw it at him in the car.
It hit him in the head,
it shattered, the phone broke.
I tell him, tell me.
And he started telling me,
and then that's when I asked him
how long has this been going on?
And he wouldn't tell me,
and finally he said almost three years,
and I was like, I was devastated.
[narrator] Frances suspects Bill's mistress
is attracted to him for one simple reason.
She was, you know, telling me about the company,
about the money, she was scuffling about how,
you know, she had busted her butt, you know,
from the ground up.
And I told her, I said, hey, by all means,
I'm not... I'm not trying to interfere in any of that.
I don't know if that was her main worry,
or if she just felt, like, no other woman
had the right to step in and have the benefits
of everything they had built together,
which is understandable.
You know, you're with somebody for 32 years
and you build an empire from the ground up, from not a penny.
And you know, and then here comes a woman.
You know that your husband's leaving you
and he's divorcing you.
If you've ever experienced infidelity,
either as a child,
when your parents, one of them were unfaithful
or as a partner in a marriage,
it's devastating on both ends.
[Bonnie] His daughter had been contacting me, you know,
so then Frances started texting me.
And when she started texting me, it was
not pleasant text messages.
So then I hit back.
You want to get nasty with me?
Well, I'm going to get nasty with you.
[narrator]ú Bill Hall's cheating ways
creates a text message firestorm
between his wife Francesú and his mistress Bonnie.
After a while, Bonnie becomes really angry
and gets into this likeú text war with Frances.
And Bonnie is saying things that are really, really hurtful.
Like for example, she tells Frances that Frances,
because she had a hysterectomy, isn't a real woman.
She also starts talking about her intimacy with Bill.
She sent Frances diagrams andú called her a broken woman,
hollow, empty, a lot ofú very explicit language.
And it was pretty nasty.
[Bonnie] I'm not nobody's doormat,
then it kind of just got even more nastier.
I sent her a picture that Billú had took of me, my behind.
I know there was one her from behind,
one from her in the front.
They made it seem like, you know,
that that was a sex video that I had sent her
when in all reality, there's never been any sex videos
that I ever sent Ms. Hall.
[Leigh] And Bill was struggling with this.
He didn't know how to get this woman out of his life
and fix his marriage with Frances
and it's something he very clearly did not want to lose.
I had only witnessed him that low
and that was when his mother passed.
That he had gotten that low.
I saw it again and I was like, instead of me being pissed
by Sunday, I told him, you know what, it's okay.
We'll figure this out.
I was emotionally, mentally tortured by this girl.
We were in Corpus trying to make it work
with his cousin Pete,
and she was calling, sending me texts.
Doing all kinds of stuff.
[narrator] However Bill does return to Bonnie on occasion.
I guess he just wasn't happy in his marriage anymore.
Like he told me and he was honest.
He goes, I'm always gonna love that woman.
That's the mother of my kids,
but I'm just not in love with her anymore.
I wanted my boyfriend back home.
That Hall trucking company,
that was built while they were married.
That trucking company would have divided up
would have been a matter of contention.
Okay, so it wasn't gonna be a simple divorce.
[narrator] On October 2013, ú after a fight with Frances,
Bill returns to Bonnie.
The day after they decide to take a trip.
As they drive through San Antonio,
Frances spots them,
and their volatile struggle through traffic begins.
[Bonnie] And so I was fighting traffic,
and when I was fighting traffic,
I managed to merge in front of Bill.
So I merged in front of Bill, and by this time,
I'm in front, he's in the back of me,
and Frances is riding behind him.
[Alicia] Bill, in the meantime, is on the side,
on his motorcycle, he's not wearing a helmet.
So as the two women are driving recklessly,
he's trying to keep up.
Frances said, the last time she saw her husband on the road,
she looks out the window
and he's kind of given her a face, like,
like, what are you doing?
Like, you know, shaking his head like that.
Well, in the middle of this chase...
All of a sudden, I looked this way.
It was so fast that I... I went like this,
and then I just jumped, you know, stepped on my brake.
I remember hearing a big boom in the back.
[tires screech]
She all of a sudden loses Bill,
Frances just remembers seeing almost like a bunch of dust
on the rear passenger side.
Once again, it just goes back to that soap opera
that has come to life.
Because I just imagined it like a movie scene.
These two women were veering into oncoming traffic
and endangering the lives of other people
because of their baggage that they were carrying
for the past year, three years.
So they were endangering people on this very busy highway.
Turns out Bill hit the back of Frances' Escalade
and he crashed out.
Bill's motorcycle is passed and over on the shoulder
his handlebars hit and pierce
the side passenger window of Frances
and it causes him to fly off the motorcycle into a ditch
has massive head injury.
I just, I see where the bike flew and then I see Bill fly.
And I just started screaming at the top of my lungs.
[narrator] Police arrive to a chaotic scene.
Bonnie sees him on the ground, and he's telling her
"I can't breathe, I can't breathe",
and she tells law enforcement,
"I saw the whole thing."
I was screaming, I was crying.
The volunteer fire department got there,
and they're putting the mask and he took it off,
and he goes "I can't breathe, I can't breathe."
[sirens wail]
[narrator] The tumultuous love triangle between Bill,
Frances, and Bonnie Contreras
has ended with Bill fighting for his life.
[Frances] And I told him, "you're gonna be fine,
you're gonna be fine."
I go, I'm gonna follow you.
I'm gonna go with you.
And all he kept telling, ú "I can't breathe, vieja"
"it was an accident, vieja."
"I love you..."
I started getting hysterical, I started crying,
I started, you know, is he dead?
The officer looked at me and he goes,
"are you his wife?" And I go, "yes."
And he goes, "Turn around."
And he put the handcuffs on me,
and he took me straight to the car.
Frances Hall was arrested for aggravated assault
at the very least,
and then when she's beingú processed for those charges,
Bill dies,
those charges escalate to felony murder.
[narrator] Bill Hall Jr. is dead.
And his wife, Frances, is charged with his murder.
When we're getting all of the details about that crash,
I don't think our heads start to turn
and our eyes start to get really big
until we see the mugshot.
Frances Hall's mugshot.
When you are starting from scratch
and looking at this case, and you read the summary,
and then you look at someone's mugshot,
I think being a human being,
you start to draw certain conclusions like,
oh, yeah, scorned wife, like she's guilty.
Like her face says it all.
[Frances] That night they took me
to the magistrate that morning.
They kept either for the longest time,
and I was still in shock because I was like, no.
And I think that was when they told me
they were charging me with murder.
You have two different offences,
you have the aggravated assault
for Frances ramming the vehicleú the Bonnie was driving,
and the felony murder for how Bill got swept up
and killed in the process.
She was charged with aggravated assault on Bonnie
and murder on Bill.
Oh my God, I thought this was so like,
this only happens in TV.
I could not believe this.
You know, when we finally said that we were going to trial
and this and that, I thought,
well, the truth's going to come up.
They're going to see that it was an accident.
They're going to see that I would have never hurt him.
They're going to see
that I love this man that I didn't hurt him.
[Bonnie] The second she turned around,
she was already committing a crime.
Somebody was bound to get hurt when she gave that chase.
I don't know if she thought it was going to be me,
or if she thought it was going to be him,
or both, I don't know.
But to me, I mean, she killed him.
She took his life.
You know, we're never gonna see this man ever again.
[narrator] Prosecutors need to figure out,
is this an accident or murder?
You start to draw certain conclusions like,
oh yeah, scorned wife, like she's guilty,
like her face says it all,
but that wasn't the entire story
because we had not heard anything
from the side of Frances Hall
until that courtroom.
[narrator] Three years will go by
before Frances Hall goes to trial.
[Frances] I didn't do this intentionally.
I know I didn't do this intentionally.
Now if I wouldn't have been there,
he would have still been here.
And it's so weird because he was talking to me and everything.
And then I thought, you know,
he's going to have a long recovery, but he'll be okay.
I never in my heart, in my soul,
thought that Frances was guilty ever.
The first part of this phase,
is I would allow each sideú to have opening statements.
State, you may proceed.
[narrator] The prosecution takes the floor to prove
Hall's reckless actions led to murder.
You can't ignore what happensú before or after something.
This wasn't his first affair
from the evidence that came out in trial,
that Frances had known about other affairs.
It's just this, to my knowledge,
this is the first time you had a mistress
who was actively engaging with the wife
and kind of insisting that
your man is going to leave you for me.
[Prosecutor] The defendant went out there.
Angry.
Chasing after Bonnie Contreras.
Ramming into the back of the Range Rover,
and then veering into Bill,
sending him flying off of his bike.
And that, that's your felony murder.
If we're going to say it's okay to kill somebody
because they have an affair,
there's going to be a lot of dead people
here in Bexar County.
That's just not okay.
[Prosecutor] The defendant has been charged
with committing a felony.
And in the course
of that felony
of attempting to commit that felony,
she caused Bill Hall to die.
She turns around, in other words,
she turns around and is driving
and basically ramming the car of Bonnie Contreras.
But remember, at trial, the defence is insisting
that she never actually made contact with the vehicle.
I didn't think that was a tenable defence,
but that's what they're saying.
The different experts we spent a lot of time arguing
about whether the vehicles really rammed each other or not.
The 911 call from Martinez,
who's the one chasing who?
And thank you for Mr. Brandon
saying how long it was.
We're talking about six miles, right?
We know the crash scene is over somewhere in here.
We know they go all the way down to here
and all the way back up.
Like from a 911 call from the deputy
it's like we're a mile away from 1604.
So they're driving, she's... Frances Hall is chasing Bonnie
for around five miles at high rates of speed.
So what is the purpose of that?
Why is she doing it?
Like, I guess she's... she probably wanted
to kick Bonnie's ass
like she kicked Bill's ass the day before.
But there's only one way to do that, is to stop that car, okay?
The bumper that hit the other bumper
over and over and over again.
So prosecutors tell theú jury as a result of her rage
a man is dead.
[Leigh] Because she was in a vehicle,
it's considered a deadly weapon.
And so just the mere actú of her following Bonnie
and telling her to pull over,
that's considered aggravated assault
with a deadly weapon.
A felony that carries two toú 20 years in prison in Texas.
So even if they didn't convict her
of aggravated assault with the deadly weapon,
the mere fact that she was potentially
attempting to do that,
and someone dies, felony murder.
We heard from experts.
We heard from Bonnie Contreras.
Frances Hall's attorneys focus on a unique defence
to convince jurors her husband's death was an accident,
caused by the heat of the moment.
Like you said Jeff, Frances Hallú could face life in prison
and defence attorneys are hoping family members
will convince jurors that deadly crash happened
as a result of sudden passion.
That means the alleged road rage chase happened
because emotions ran high.
And the defence is pushing for that sudden passion crime.
She is essentially begging the jury for mercy.
Saying I would have never
done this intentionally to my husband.
[woman] Sudden passion is something
that the defense has to prove.
And it's not beyond a reasonable doubt
like the state's burden.
What sudden passion will be is I walk in
and find my wife in bed with another guy.
And I shoot them both.
So it'd be one thing if she walked in
and saw Bill in bed with Bonnie.
But she knew this is going on all along.
And so the fact that she sees them
driving down the road together, that's not sudden,
she's known about this all along.
[narrator] In surprise courtroom moments,
family members of the late Bill Hall
speak on their mother's behalf.
[Niki] My name is Niki Hall,
and I'm the daughter of Frances Hall.
[Defense] Who's your dad?
Bill Hall, Jr.
[Defense] And tell the jury what you do for a living.
I work for my parents' company.
My mom is the most loving, caring,
individual you'll ever meet,
despite all the hell she's been through
these past three years
after she was wrongfully accused of killing my father.
She still managed to help those in need, to give of herself,
to have a great attitude.
[ Defense] Explain, if you will,
you're mom and dad's relationship.
[Niki] It's a relationship that
I would like to have one day.
My mother and my father loved each other.
They had their own problems that every couple has.
But in the end of the day, I knew that
their love for each other was so, so strong.
[Defense] When did you find you
about your dads affair with Miss Contreras?
About a week before he passed away.
[Defense] And... who told you?
They did.
[Defense] The defendant? - Mm-hmm.
And...
What was your mom's demeanour?
They wanted to work it out.
In my dad's words, he...
made a mistake and he found a woman
that was so-to-speak,
a fatal attraction with him.
My dad would have never in his life wanted her
to be going through this.
He's probably rolling in his grave right now.
Knowing that he had part in this.
[Defense] How has Frances" life been
since she was charged with murder last few years?
It's been hell...
it's been a real hell for her,
my niece and my nephew.
They've lost... She's lost her soul mate.
Her love of her life, but they lost their father.
And what really hurts is that it was an accident
that she would never ever hurt my brother-in-law,
never, she adored the man,
she adored him, she would never hurt him.
It's just very sad.
The defence then argues,
but look at all of these angry taunting text messages.
There's also pictures of the two pictures of them naked
and a video of them having sex.
[narrator] The defence alsoargues that during the pursuit,
Bonnie is deliberately braking in front of Frances.
If you look at Bonnie's childish behavior,
just that night, let's just take...
once Frances decides to turn around.
She's telling her to pull over.
And Bonnie's braking-checking her,
she's flipping her off.
At least seven witnesses took the stand today
in the murder trial of Frances Hall,
including the defendant herself.
Hall could face life in prison
after jurors found her guilty of murder.
We were shocked that she did take the stand.
I mean, she brakes so hard
that I thought it was gonnaú flip over or something,
I just brake and my car went from side to side.
I wanted to confront this woman,
I wanted to tell her, "Leave me alone."
If Bill wants to be with you, fine.
Leave me out of it.
I could not believe that the manú I had known for 34 years,
I didn't actually know him,
for him to be living this kind of life.
I believe throughú the duration of that trial,
the opinions remain divided.
[Judge] Is there a verdict in this case?
[narrator] On the 8th of September 2016,
the jury returns with their verdict
to a packed gallery of friends and family.
I think that was a shifting point
and maybe more people saying,
okay, like, maybe this all wouldn't have happened
had Bonnie Contreras said, you know what,
nope, you're married, ú you haven't left your wife
in X amount of time. I'm out.
[Judge] Can I have defendantú and counsel please rise.
State of Texas versus France's Hall,
case number 214 CR5591.
The verdict came in, I think, úaround 730 or 8 in the evening.
[Judge] We, the jury, having found that the defendant
is guilty of the offence of murder.
[narrator] Having been found guilty of murder,
the maximum sentence Frances faces
is life imprisonment.
[Judge] But having unanimously found
the defendant committed the offence
under the immediate influence of sudden passion,
arising from an adequate cause,
now we turn this verdict as to her punishment.
I feel like I'm her family now,
but no one was prepared for that guilty verdict.
At this point, she was facing up to life in prison.
[Frances] I figured I'm gonna spend the rest of my life there.
I'm not gonna seeú my kids, or my grandkids.
I'm not gonna see my family.
And I..., I had already said to myself,
"I'm not gonna do this to my family."
And God forbid me, but I'm not.
I will take the cowards way out if I have to.
[narrator] Though the jury finds
Frances Hall guilty of murder
they conclude she acted in sudden passion,
provoked when she saw Bill and Bonnie together on the road.
[Judge] We assess her punishment at confinement
in the institutional division
of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice
for a term of two years.
[Frances] Ohhh.
[Judge] Order in the court please, order in the court.
[narrator] Frances receives theminimum sentence allowed by law,
two years.
And we begin with thatú breaking news right now
in a high profile murder trial.
The woman accused of ramming her SUV
into her husband's motorcycle and killing him
is found guilty of murder.
[Frances] And I thought it beats the rest of my life.
It beats me having to take my own life.
And I figured...
I can do two years.
I feel like two years, úit's no justification for me.
First of all, I'm very happy on the convictions she got
on both counts, that gave me peace.
I can't hate anybody or judge anybody
on the sentencing she got.
Do I agree with it?
No, but I'm okay with it.
Only God knows what she's been through
and I'm nobody to judge her or anybody else.
So I do have peace.
She says that she never meant to hurt either of us.
But at that precise moment,
she wanted to cause harm to me, mostly, I believe,
you know, and maybe it backfired on her.
I don't blame. You know?
Me as being the side person
or people portraying me as that
as that mistress,
it doesn't bother me at all.
I knew a lot about his life.
I was with him every day.
I have a pretty thick skin.
Whatever I've read on the media, vice versa,
it doesn't bother me whatsoever.
It doesn't have no effect on my life.
I won't let it affect me in any way.
I love this man with everything I have.
I still do.
I miss him tremendously.
Erm...
His life didn't have a price tag.
I know it was hard for her.
I know she was going through a lot,
but just I really wish
she would have made such a different choice
and not given me chase that day.
'Cause she not turned that truck around,
he would still be here.
And I know I'm the bad person here.
You know, just because I was with a married man,
but nobody knows the true story behind, you know.
The two-year sentence was like the cherry on top
of a case that
I'm not sure San Antonio will ever see again.
[narrator] After two years in jail,
Frances was free to begin rebuilding her life,
but a life without her husband Bill in it.
In September of 2018,
Frances is released from prisonú and returns to her family.
Frances will always tell you, "I took a vow
and I meant what I said and I'm a woman of my word,
sicker, poorer, for better for worse.
I will stay with Bill Hall" and that's what she did.
It truly was a one-of-a-kind case
that captivated the entire city.
And I'm not sure we will ever see anything else like it.
It is a tragedy that a family with such humble beginnings
had this kind of downfall.
And it was so public.
Bill's missed every day.
He's... He's missed every single day of our lives.
And... and you know, I'm sure everybody misses him.
He was a grand man, you know, kind of hard to surpass.
But, you know, he was Bill.
And Bill was Bill and he was a very special man.
And he will always be a special man in my life.
It"s hard, it's gut wrenching and everything, but...
I mean, yes, I've suffered, yes, I have.
But I mean, he's suffered too.
Bill was a good man, a great man.
He was the most exceptional person
I had ever met in my life.
He was the best husband, the best father,
the best Papo, sis, brother, everything he was.
Am I ever gonna find another Bill.
Hell no.
God broke the mould with that one.
