At a bar, the bartender turns to a girl at the end of the counter with a
coloring book.
Hey, that's real good, sweetheart.
She smiles.
As he wipes the counter, the bartender spots a bearded man walking in. The
bartender looks nervous. He pours a shot while the man approaches him.
How's it going, Vince?
Got something for me?
Yeah. The bartender hands Vince an envelope.
Vince shakes it.
Feels a little light.
Yeah, I've been a little strapped for cash. I had a pipe bust and the fridge
broke. It cost me a fortune.
Sounds like the plumber got paid.
Look, I'll make it up to you next month.
Promise. Vince eyes the girl.
That's your kid?
She keeps her eyes down while her father leans on the counter.
My wife had to work.
It's nice having a family.
A lot of stress, though.
Constantly worrying about something bad gonna happen to him.
Okay, I'll get you money next week.
Vince drinks the shot.
Hit me again.
I'm gonna use a can.
Vince heads toward the back of the bar.
He passes another patron at the end of the counter.
In the bathroom, Vince washes his hands in the sink.
Someone walks in and locks the door behind them.
Vince pulls a gun from his waistband, then turns.
The stalker grabs his arm and points the gun at the lights.
The overhead light flickers while they trade blows.
The stalker kicks Vince back, then pushes him into a stall.
He shoves Vince against the toilet and pummels him in the face.
The stalker throws Vince to the bathroom floor.
Vince reaches for his gun, but his attacker steps on his hand.
The stalker grabs Vince by the head, then snaps his neck.
Vince lies still on the floor as the stalker unlocks the door and walks out.
He heads to the bar.
Knuckles bloodied.
Torres sips his drink.
The bartender eyes the blood on his face with a nervous expression.
Torres takes out cash.
He glances toward the bartender's daughter.
He drops the bills on the counter.
Sorry about the mess.
Torres walks off.

In the squad room, McGee steps off the elevator.
Oh, attention on deck!
Secnav arriving.
Guys, seriously, how long are you gonna keep doing that for?
No, man, it stops being funny.
We're just excited for you, McGee.
It's not every day one of our own gets called up to the big leagues.
I told you already, it's like nothing definite, you know? I had breakfast with
Sekhnav this morning.
She explained to me that she's got another two years left on her term. I'm
just being vetted as a possible replacement.
It's all, it might not even happen. Still, you and Delilah have to be going
nuts with the possibility, right?
Yeah, we're excited, flattered, a little nauseous.
It's a lot to think about, you know, and it could really change our lives.
Until that happens, though, can we do a thing where we, like, not bring this up
at all?
Who wants cake?
Congratulations, Mr. Secretary.
Look, I'm kidding.
It's birthday cake for Barbara from accounting.
I didn't know it was her birthday.
Oh, no, no, Sid. It was last week.
We all forgot.
She bummed?
Uh, yeah. Is she, uh, going to take it out on our paycheck?
Well, I think I smoothed things over with the birthday cake, but this
incident has led me to a decision.
You guys, I am officially bringing birthdays back.
Did they ever leave?
Office birthdays, Jess. As in parties and cake. You know, it's a new era at
NCIS. You know, it's time we celebrate a little more.
Seems like a lot of work, bro.
Well, technically it's not work if you're having fun, Nick.
Oh, Agent Parker.
Cake. Parker glares at Palmer.
What are you doing, Jimmy?
I'm the morning sweets guy. Are you trying to muscle in on my territory?
No, of course not. This is birthday cake. It doesn't count.
Slice?
Pretty good.
Is that sheet cake with vanilla frosting from a supermarket?
Hard pass.
You're a history snob. Besides, we got a dead body in a Navy hangar, and from
what I've heard, you might not want a full stomach for this one.
At the crime scene, a charred body lies in the trunk of a car.
All right, so security found the burning car this morning, and they called the
fire department.
Did we speak to them yet?
Knight's on it, and McGee's running down the license plate.
Cameras catching anything? Out of service.
Hangar was abandoned two years ago.
Remote location, minimal security.
I mean, if you wanted to dump a body somewhere, this would be the place.
Director DiNozzo, what a pleasant and totally expected surprise.
Yeah, man, I see that drip.
You enjoying a little R&R? I wish.
No, I got golf in 30 minutes with the senator who controls our budget.
He agreed to, uh, give us a little bit more money if I can beat him over 18
holes. He likes golf.
I like money. Uh, our democracy at work.
Is he any good? Very.
But not as good as Chief Petty Officer Newman over there. The hangar security
guy? Oh, yeah.
Number two on the all-Navy golf team, and he's also my caddy. Hey, that's
smart. So, what are we looking at here, Dr. Palmer?
Well, victim is female, somewhere between her 20s and 40s. No ID, so we'll
have to wait on dental records to confirm identification.
Yeah, I don't need dental records for that.
No, that is a laceration on her throat. It's quite possible that she was
strangled before she was set on fire.
Killer torched the car to destroy evidence.
We could be looking at it, bro. Parker checks his phone.
McGee ran the plate. It's a rental car. And it's booked through a corporate
account registered to a Baltimore consulting firm.
Hmm. McGee looked into the firm. There's no website.
No employees.
Smells like a shell company.
Only name connected is someone named Dante Navarro.
Dante Navarro. From Baltimore.
You know him?
Well, that could be our guy.
Let's pick him up. Well, you will never find him.
Why wouldn't we find him?
Because he doesn't exist.
I invented him. Parker knits his brow.
The image freezes in black and white.
In the squad room.
Dante Navarro is the name of a backstop identity I used years ago during my
undercover days.
Just before you came to D.C.? Yeah, I gave him a full legend. He was a
freelance hitman from Baltimore.
A long wolf. I even gave him a signature weapon. The garage wire.
Nice touch.
You use him on multiple cases?
At least a dozen. I mean, anything from drug trafficking to armed robbery.
And then I retire him for good. And I got here.
Looks like Dante's come out of retirement.
We got an ID on a victim yet?
Jimmy's still working on it.
All right, we need to figure out why somebody would resurrect an old alias to
commit murder.
It'd be related to one of your old cases?
So many to choose from.
Dante had a lot of enemies.
How could they have learned about your alias in the first place?
No idea.
Only two people knew about him. Me and Walt Keller, my old handler from the
past. Then we need to talk to him.
Good luck with that.
Last I heard, he left NCIS and fell off the face of the earth.
Let's hope not, because right now he's the only lead we got.
I'll make some phone calls.
I'd take it the two of you weren't close.
Let's just say it was complicated.
In the autopsy room, Palmer looks in a freezer drawer.
Hey, roomie. He shuts it as Tony walks in. So, what do we got on this Jane Doe?
What? What's that?
What are you doing?
Me? Nothing. Nothing at all. Hey, I... Tony opens the drawer, revealing several
cakes. I can explain.
This is all kinds of wrong. The refrigerators upstairs were all full,
so... No, no, no, stop!
This isn't the Great British Bake Off, Paul Hollywood. This is the morgue. I
didn't have a choice, Tony. I don't know if you've heard, but I am bringing
birthdays back.
Yes, I know.
There are five birthday cakes in here. You told me it was just Barbara's
birthday today. That's what I thought, okay? But it turns out that more than
one person shares the same birthday. So I've got two today. I've got three
tomorrow. Next week, I've... Okay, no.
You really don't know what's coming, do you?
What do you mean?
This whole birthday thing.
It's gonna swallow you whole.
I don't know about that.
Palmer looks worried.
Jane Doe.
Right, I pulled the dental records of all missing women in the D.C. area, and
I came up with a match.
Our victim's name is Mandy Dubrow.
She's 45, paralegal, no criminal record.
So nothing to suggest why she might have been killed?
No, but I did find something interesting.
These lacerations on her neck.
I mean, she was definitely strangled, but the killer didn't use his hands. He
must have used some sort of sharp wire.
Like a garrote wire Torres did say that was his alias his weapon of choice Well,
someone really wants us to believe Dante Navarro is real in the forensics lab Hey
case, I was hoping that you Well, what the hell is that thing pinata?
Jimmy asked me to pick it up for one of his birthday parties as if I don't have
enough to do Why is in the shape of a gnome?
It's not a gnome. It is a baby It's the last one they had left at the store.
I think it's for gender reveal parties What, you're supposed to hit the baby?
I don't know. This is Jimmy's idea, not mine.
Wish we could hit him with a stick.
I hope Jimmy hasn't created a monster with his whole birthday thing.
Well, he wouldn't be the only one who's created a monster.
What do you mean?
I ran the name Dante Navarro through various local police databases, and his
name came up in connection with several unsolved murders over the past two
years. Whoever's using Torres' alias has been busy.
The killings appear to be unrelated, but here's something interesting.
One of the victims got a text from a burner phone right before his death.
Watch your back.
Dante's looking for you, asking about Grace.
Who's Grace?
No idea.
She was obviously worth killing for.
McGee takes out his phone.
Ooh, Torres finally tracked down his old handler.
In the woods, Torres and Knight pull up to a small cabin.
You guys sure loves his privacy, huh?
Yeah, listen, I gotta warn you.
Keller's an old-school cop.
You know, he's a little rough.
Likes to push buttons.
Is that what you meant by a complicated relationship?
Well, he taught me everything I know about undercover work.
But I'm not the same guy that I was back then, and he just won't accept that.
As Torres knocks, the door opens.
He peers inside and finds a mess in the living room.
Torres glances at Knight.
They draw their guns and head into the cabin.
Torres checks a bedroom while Knight approaches the kitchen.
Nick?
The him?
Walt lies on the floor.
Yeah. Torres holsters his gun and walks into the kitchen. Walt rolls over with
his gun pointed at Torres.
Hey, Torres.
Drop your weapon.
Saw you pull up. You fell for the oldest trick in the book. Do it now.
Jess.
It's okay.
Night lowers her gun.
Nice to see you too, Walt.
Walt waves.
Torres wears a tense look.
the image freezes in black and white in walt's cabin excuse the mess
by maid's day off you want a drink uh no thank you i'm sober
since when mr keller we were hoping you could help us yeah you know i don't get
a lot of visitors out here that much you know a couple raccoons a bear maybe so
you can imagine my surprise
when I found the great Nicky Torres at my door.
How long's it been, Nick?
Nine?
Ten years?
A long time. Yeah? I taught this guy everything he knows.
I recruited him fresh out of FLETC.
Green as an avocado.
Oh, it wasn't that great. Ha!
Please. You didn't know a dead drop from a hole in the ground.
But he was a quick learner, and he did have a taste for it.
Especially the more dangerous stuff.
We were a great team.
Till he left me for that cushy desk job with Gibbs and his crew. He got soft on
me. Here we go. Oh, I mean, it's hardly a desk job.
Nick has put himself in danger a thousand times over, so maybe he's off
of it.
Walt, we're not here on a social call. We actually need your help on a case.
Well, I'm not really sure what I can do for you.
Clearly, I'm out of the game.
It's about Dante Navarro.
Walt sips his drink and looks at Torres.
Somebody's using the identity to kill people.
Bullcrap. I burned that identity myself after we were through. I wiped it clean.
The only copy is on a federal secure network somewhere.
Well, maybe somebody hacked it.
Why?
It's a dead legend. It's useless.
Well, someone doesn't think so.
This is a list of four people that Dante killed.
We can't find a pattern.
We were hoping you could.
Well, you can't figure out the pattern because these aren't the victims' real
names. They've been changed.
How would you know that?
Because they're all connected to Chimino.
Who's Chimino? In the squad room.
Sergio Chimino was the head of a crime family in Baltimore back in the 2000s.
He was bad news, drug trafficking, weapon smuggling, extortion.
13 years ago, I went undercover as Dante Navarro and infiltrated the family.
Thanks to Torres here, we were able to build a case. We put the Chiminos away
for life.
And how do our four victims tie into this?
Well, each one of them worked for the Cimino family in some low-level
capacity. Our recent victim here, Mandy Dubrow, worked as the family's lawyer.
They offered sealed testimony at the trial, changed their names for their
protection. Okay, so if all of the major players in the Cimino family are in
jail, why take out the B team? And why now? It's been 13 years.
And why use Torres' alias to kill them all?
Dread Pirate Roberts, Princess Bride.
Our killer's pulling a Dread Pirate Roberts.
Back in the day, Dante was a name that invoked fear, and our killer is taking
advantage of that. The name itself has become the weapon.
Tony DiNozzo?
Holy balls, it is you!
Oh, my God.
Walt Killer, you're still alive?
Hey, man.
You two know each other?
Uh, yeah, we got into a little trouble back in the day. Yeah, Tony is a
legendary undercover guy.
What was your alias again? Tony DeWaldo?
DiNardo. Oh, sorry.
Film studies professor, not nearly as cool as Torres' Hitman alias.
And so, what do we have here? This is the Chimino supporting cast of
characters? Somebody who's picking them off one by one.
Well, that means there are probably going to be more targets.
We need to pull all the case files on Chimino. Casey's already on it, I
reckon. We have to warn Ray. Who's that?
Ray Moore.
My informant.
He also owned a bar where the Cimino family used to hang out at. We put him
in witness protection when everything went down.
He's gonna be a target. I'm way ahead of you. I already called him and a bunch of
other CIs. They're safe and sound. Wait, why did he call you director?
Because I'm the director now.
Oh, really?
Why?
He's telling the truth.
Walt glances at Torres.
Huh. Don't worry, Walt.
i run a tight ship palmer walks in with a cake cake happy birthday dear angela
greg and bethany happy birthday to you
you left me for this palmer smiles and waves to them in the
forensics lab casey stands at her desk palmer walks in with a slice of cake
Try to get him to say something on tape.
Hey, Case, have you met that Keller guy yet? I offered him a piece of cake, and
you don't want to know where he told me to put it.
So, do you want a piece of cake?
Don't have much of an appetite.
What's the matter? You okay?
Yeah, you know, Parker's got me listening to Torres' body wire
recordings of the Sergio Chimino case, and it's got me kind of freaked out, to
be honest.
Yeah, listening to Chimino and all those mafia guys.
You know, it's Torres.
He just sounds so different.
Not himself.
Well, he was undercover, Case. I mean, that's kind of the point. Yeah, I know,
but... it all sounds so real.
Okay.
Let me hear it. I don't know.
Just don't say I didn't warn you.
Okay, this is where I left off. According to the case notes, Chimino was
suspicious that one of his guys was stealing, so he sent Torres to confirm
it.
Mikey Phelan, what's up, man?
Is this chair taken?
In the past, Torres meets with a slick-haired man at Ray's bar.
You look good.
Is that a new jacket?
Is it leather?
Suede. Damn!
I'm gonna have to pick me out one of those.
Makes it expensive?
Looks expensive.
I mean, almost as much as that new gold watch around your wrist.
Mikey lowers his arm.
You got something to say to me, then say it.
I ain't afraid of you, Dante.
Torres moves closer to him and pulls out a knife.
Have you ever played Five Finger Filet?
You know the game?
I learned it at Glades.
See, the lifers used to play it just to pass time, right? Then I started
learning it, and all of a sudden I became really good at it.
Torres jabs the knife between his fingers.
And I realized it was all about precision, baby.
Mikey forces a smile.
That's supposed to scare me?
Your turn.
What are you doing, man? Don't worry, I've never missed. Watch. Torres stabs
him in the hand.
Oops. Oh, man, my bad.
My bad. Hey, are you stealing from Sergio?
No, please.
Oh, it hurts. Okay, well, tell me what I want to know and I'll make it stop.
Okay, okay, yes.
I stole the money. Oh, you did? But he told me to do it. Who? Who told you to
do it?
Johnny Russo.
He said the money was going to Grace.
Grace? Please.
I think I'm going to be sick. I don't like when you lie to me, Mikey.
Okay, stop it. Stop it.
The flashback ends.
My God, Nick was actually torturing that guy.
Case, you were right. I don't know who that was on the tape there, but that was
not our friend. Wait a minute.
Casey picks up a file.
We need to play this for the guys.
In the multipurpose room, Torres wears a tense expression.
Grace? Wait.
I think I'm gonna be sick.
Why don't I call you later? He said Grace, the same name that was on our
victim's text message.
The message said Dante was asking about Grace. If she's connected to the money
that was stolen 13 years ago, maybe that's what Dante's looking for now.
You ever follow up on it?
No. A week later, we arrested Chimino.
And then the case was closed.
Why are you wasting your time with this?
It's a dead end. You'd get more answers from a magic eight ball.
But you heard the tape. That guy Fallon said... Mikey Fallon is a world-class
douchebag and a liar. He'd say anything to save himself.
Still, it can't be a coincidence that the name Grace has come up twice now.
We need to speak to Mikey Fallon. He was recently paroled and lives at a halfway
house called Best Hope.
Do you have an address?
I know where it is. I'll take you there.
My nap's already ruined.
Do you always like that?
I got used to it.
Admit it.
You missed this.
You missed you and me working together.
Come on, man. Stop making it weird.
You know, the CIA reached out to me recently about doing some deep cover
work. Real off-the-book stuff. High risk. What do you say?
Put the band back together?
You do it on the side.
Torres tilts his head.
Oh, thanks, man, but I think I'm good where I am.
Right. He spots Mikey.
Mikey?
Mikey, hold on!
We're running now?
Mikey drops his groceries and runs off.
Torres chases him down an alley.
Please, don't kill me. Don't kill me.
I'm not gonna kill you. I just want to talk to you.
Sure. Everybody knows Dante's cleaning house.
What'd I miss? Hey, that wasn't me.
I'm a fed.
I was undercover as Dante, you see?
You're a cop?
Then who killed... We don't know.
And so we're hoping that you can help us figure out.
You want my help?
That's beautiful.
After what you did to me? Mikey shows his scarred hand.
Nice, huh?
The knife severed the tendons.
I can't move my fingers no more.
I can't wipe my own ass, thanks to you.
So forgive me, officer, if I don't feel like helping you out.
Besides, what more can you do to me you haven't already done?
Oh, still you rather hand.
Get him off of me! Hey, Walt. Tell us what you did with the money you stole
from Chimino. This is not the way, Walt. It is if it works.
Okay, okay.
I'll talk. I'll talk.
Walt, let's go at Mikey's hand.
We've been stealing from the old man for years.
Over ten million dollars.
Ten? Yeah.
With help from a partner.
Grace. Grace wasn't a person.
That was the name of the boat.
That's where they kept the money.
Then who was the partner?
Mikey's head jerks to the side, and he drops.
Torres and Walt spot someone shooting at them from a car.
A passing woman gets hit in the shoulder.
What are you doing?
You're all right. I got you.
Chinita, help! Leave her! He's getting away! We'll call 911 from the car!
We got a shooting victim.
I need an ambulance now.
Torres looks back at Walt. The image freezes in black and white.
In Tony's office.
The pedestrian who got hit is gonna be fine. But, uh, unfortunately, I can't
say the same for Mikey Fallon.
What about the shooter?
Has to be Dante.
In the wind.
Wonder who we have to thank for that.
She was gonna bleed out on the sidewalk.
What was I supposed to do, let her die?
You're being overdramatic. She would have been fine. You don't know that. I
made a call, and that was it. Yeah, and it was the wrong one. Okay, let's just
save it, all right? You know, you should know the difference between what
mattered and what didn't matter.
Tony scratches a record.
Oh, I'm sorry. Did my...
Smooth jazz interrupt your very important fight.
So, now that the SmackDown has been averted, what do we know?
Whoever is impersonating Dante is looking for money that was stolen from
the Chimino crime family.
Ten million dollars.
Why would Dante shoot Fallon before he could tell him anything? It's not the
brightest idea.
Fallon's room was ransacked before he was killed.
So, Dante found what he was looking for.
Then ice fell on afterwards to keep him quiet.
Good news is we may have a lead on who was behind the stolen money.
Since we know it was stored on a boat named Grace, we searched Baltimore
marina records going back 13 years, found four boats with the same name.
One of them belonged to a bookkeeper named Nelson Tuttle. And a boat is no
longer in service, but Tuttle used to work at the same accounting firm that
did Sergio Chimino's books.
He hasn't reported for work in days, and his wife hasn't seen him. Well, we
should find him.
And quick.
If he's still alive, he's our best shot at finding Dante.
Hopefully we won't lose him this time.
Torres follows Walt into the hallway.
Hey.
Hey, where do you get off talking to me like that in front of my boss?
I'm just stating the obvious.
Which is?
This place has made you weak.
Get out of here. When I first met you, you were wild. You were fearless. You
were willing to do all the things the rest of us wouldn't.
Now look at you.
This place has turned you into a house cat.
I mean, dude, you don't even drink anymore.
I'm a recovering alcoholic. I don't buy it.
Alcohol is never your problem.
You're addicted to adrenaline.
The danger you feel when you're undercover?
That's what you want.
You crave it.
Oh, okay, I see. So you're a shrink now, huh? No, I'm better than a shrink.
I'm an old friend with a great memory.
And I'm only telling you this for your own good.
So you stop living this lie.
Get back to who you really are.
You're wrong.
You are wrong.
All that crap I did in the past? It was never me.
I was undercover.
I was playing a character. Dante did all those things, not me. You still don't
get it, do you?
Nick Torres is the cover.
Dante is who you really are.
We're done.
Don't walk away from me.
You get your hands off me.
There he is.
I knew you were in there somewhere.
In
the
squad room, night approaches McGee.
Hey, any luck?
No. I've been combing through his credit card statements, hoping our missing
bookkeeper might have left us a clue as to where he's hiding. Yeah, if he's
hiding. I mean, he could already be dead.
How about you? Did you get anywhere with Tuttle's wife?
Nope, but I'll tell you what. If Mr. Tuttle is dead, Mrs. Tuttle sure
wouldn't mind.
Really? Oh, yeah. I'm getting some heavy divorce vibes. I mean, she was
practically giddy at the thought of becoming a widow.
Yeah, thank you guys so much for coming. Again, so sorry about this.
Jimmy, what happened?
Well, I decided to throw a party for Ruth, you know, from dispatch, and I
thought it'd be nice to put one candle in the cake for each year.
Isn't she, like, 60?
64.
Did something get lit on fire?
No, no, no, nothing like that, no. But, uh, Ruth hyperventilated when she was
trying to blow out all the candles, and then she passed out.
What was I thinking? I mean, this whole birthday thing, this has been a
disaster.
Well, Jimmy, it was a nice idea.
And your intentions were so good.
Yeah, my intentions, Jess, have cost this office a fortune. I mean, the
bakery receipts alone are in the triple digits. Barbara is going to kill me.
Wait a minute.
Bakery receipts, a lot of them. I get it, McGee. Please don't rub it in. No,
no, no. Our missing bookkeeper, Tuttle, he racked up some very hefty bakery
bills of his own at a place called Sugar Buns.
Apparently, it's an adult erotic bakery specializing in romantic confections.
McGee, Knight, and Palmer raised their brows.
Didn't you say that Tuttle and his wife were headed for a divorce?
Yeah. So who do you buy the cakes for?
In the autopsy room, Torres looks down at Mikey's body.
Parker walks in.
There you are. I was looking for you.
You and Keller hash things out?
Something like that.
Look, Nick, guys like Keller are stuck in their glory days. Just don't let them
get to you. Torres regards Mikey's hand.
That car wasn't my doing, you know?
Yeah, I heard.
I did some horrible things in my past, Parker.
Justified by saying it was in the line of duty.
But there was always something that bothered me afterwards.
What's that?
How much I enjoyed it.
After I did all those things, I felt... alive.
Torres furrows his brow.
What does that say about me?
Parker steps around the autopsy table.
You had to go to those places to do the job. Not easy. I know. I've done some...
Some things in the past that I'd rather forget.
Like in your recent past?
Listen.
We all have darkness. It doesn't get to decide who we are, though.
Parker takes out his phone.
It's night. They found the bookkeeper.
All right.
In the observation room, Torres joins Tony by the one-way mirror.
Tuttle sits in the interrogation room.
Did I miss anything?
Just got here myself.
What is that?
Nothing, I hope.
Why am I in here?
I'm not a suspect. If anything, you guys should be protecting me.
Yeah, from your wife, I imagine.
She's not gonna be too thrilled to learn you were eating cupcakes with your
mistress. Yeah, you still got a little frosting on your top lip.
Tuttle dabs his lip with the back of his hand.
Yeah, right, my wife and I were having marital problems.
But that's not why I was at my girlfriend's. I was hiding.
Someone's trying to kill me.
Dante Navarro?
Yeah, he's already killed a bunch of people. I could be next.
Please, you guys have to protect me.
It's gonna be hard to protect you from yourself.
Right, Dante?
What are you guys talking about?
We pulled your cell records, your GPS history. You visited all five victims
before they were murdered.
Yeah, I was trying to warn them. I heard Dante was back out on the street.
The bullet that killed Mikey Fallon is from a Remington 700 rifle, which
happens to be the same make and model of a rifle that you yourself own. I used
that to hunt, okay? A lot of people own that gun. Look, I didn't kill anybody.
You stole $10 million from Sergio Chimino, then you assumed Dante
Navarro's identity so that you could kill anyone that could connect you to
the money.
Sure, it took a long time to find them.
Names change, people move.
But you were patient.
You wanted that money all for yourself.
You guys don't understand. There is no money.
I had to give it all away.
Look, when Tramino got busted 13 years ago, I was arrested on money laundering
charges. But a federal agent offered me a deal.
$10 million for full immunity.
So I took it.
Gave him all the money, and I walked free.
You remember the agent's name?
Yeah, I'll never forget it.
Bob Graves.
Torres makes a call.
Where's Keller?
He left the building.
He lowers the phone.
We need to send the nearest agent to his cabin now.
Bob Graves is the alias that Keller used back when he was an undercover agent.
I was afraid of that.
Tony hands him the file.
It contains surveillance photos of Walt on his cell phone.
You were tailing him?
I have some experience with shady mentors.
Best to keep tabs on them.
Keller was ducking out at odd hours, making calls on a burner phone.
It's not a good look.
Which means that Keller took the money.
He played us.
Torres looks concerned.
The image freezes in black and white.
In the squad room, Parker approaches the team.
Anything yet? The agent said that Keller isn't home and his phone is shut off.
Dug into the bookkeeper's finances, confirmed $10 million was withdrawn from
his account 13 years ago.
Where'd the money go?
Casey's still working on it. But we know where he went.
We don't know if it was Keller for sure, okay?
Somebody could use his alias just like they used yours, Nigel. But they didn't,
Tim. It's Keller.
He's been lying to us from the jump. Hey, even if Keller did take the money,
it still doesn't tell us who our murderer is.
It's true.
Keller was with you when that guy was shot.
It can't be Dante.
hope he's not killer better watch his back don't think it'll be coming for him
next parker checks his phone casey's got something in the forensics lab the 10
million was transferred to an offshore account 13 years ago not sure about the
owner yet he hid it behind multiple shell companies of course why make it
easy on us okay but here's the weird thing since the account opened the owner
had been making monthly transfers to a custodial account in someone else's name
wait custodial like For a kid? An eight-year-old girl.
No family.
Lived in an orphanage in Baltimore until she turned 18 and took full control of
the money.
Here's a recent photo of her.
Sasha Norris. Who the hell is she?
Your guess is as good as mine.
Still working on an address. The one on her ID isn't current.
Um, I gotta go.
Where are you going?
Out. Torres leaves.
Parker watches him with a worried look. At Ray's bar, Torres walks in.
Dust covers the counter and cobwebs hang from the balustrade.
As Torres looks toward the counter, he remembers Ray tending bar.
Ray wipes the counter and smiles.
Torres heads to the end of the bar.
Gun drawn, Walt steps into the room.
You expecting someone else?
You shouldn't be here.
Were you thinking that Dante might show up?
Well, it makes sense considering that this is her father's bar.
Because Dante, or Sasha Norris if we're gonna go with real names, is Rey's
daughter.
And now she's killing everyone connected to the Chiminos for what they did to her
family.
But you already knew that, didn't you?
Yes, I should be surprised you figured it out.
Then again, I did teach you.
You lied to me.
You said you had talked to Ray.
You said he was going to be fine.
But I called Witzek on the way here.
Ray and his family are dead.
The Chiminos massacred them 13 years ago when they found out that he was an
informant. Look, I wanted to tell you, Nick.
I promised him, Walt.
I looked at Ray in the eyes, and I swore that we were going to protect him and
his family. Look, the Chimino takedown, it was chaos.
Multiple arrests. There was people moving around everywhere.
And Ray, he just... He slipped through the cracks.
And by the time I realized that it was too late, he and his family had already
been killed.
Except for Sasha.
She was hiding under the bed.
She saw the whole thing.
I felt awful.
Awful?
So awful that you stole $10 million and anonymously you've been giving it to her
ever since?
Yeah. Maybe I was hoping it could make things right.
You know, maybe she could still have a bright future. Well, it didn't work out
that way, did it? No, it didn't.
So what now?
Sasha walks through that door and... What?
You're gonna kill her? No, I'm gonna arrest her.
She killed five people, Nick.
She's a murderer.
She needs to answer for what she's done.
Well, maybe we all do. Oh, there you go again, being overly dramatic. Walt gets
shot.
Drop your weapon!
Move away from him!
Sasha, drop your weapon. Don't do this. She's dangerous, Nick. Shoot her!
Sasha.
I'm Dante Navarro.
Sasha glares at Torres.
The real one.
I knew your father.
He was a decent man.
He wouldn't want this for you.
You're Dante?
She aims at him.
He trusted you.
I know I failed him.
But nothing I can say will make up for that.
By killing us, it's not gonna bring him back.
And it's not gonna ease your pain.
She fights back tears.
Sasha, listen to me.
How about we both put our weapons down?
Slowly.
Together.
And we can talk.
Can you do that?
Sasha nods as she lowers the rifle.
Okay.
Same time.
Ready?
She and Torres crouch toward the floor.
Easy does it.
They lay their weapons down. There you go.
That's it.
Let me come up. They stand.
There you go.
We're gonna talk.
Walt shoots Sasha.
Why did you do that? She wasn't armed!
No, she wasn't.
Check her hand.
Torres picks up his gun as he approaches Sasha.
Walt pushes himself into a sitting position.
Torres bends down and finds a small gun in Sasha's hand.
It was in her waistband. He picks it up.
She's a killer, Nick.
People don't change.
Nighttime. In his office, Tony meets with Knight and Torres.
We matched Sasha's rifle to the one that was used to kill Fallon at the halfway
house. We searched the apartment and found a notebook with the names and
addresses of all five victims.
It wasn't easy for Sasha to track him down.
Which is why she hacked into our system.
And it's how she learned about the Dante alias.
Sasha was a computer whiz.
She used the money Keller gave her to go to MIT.
She graduated with honors.
Hmm.
Some good that did her.
So, all that's left is Sasha's death. According to his statement, Keller said
he fired in self-defense.
Is that what happened, Agent Torres?
Was it a clean kill?
Well, I tried to talk her down.
But I couldn't.
Killer made the right call.
Then that's that.
Go home.
Rest. You've earned it.
Taurus and Knight leave the room.
Brow furrowed, Tony leans on the conference table as he watches them go.
In his car, Taurus parks in the forest.
He picks up his phone and answers a call from Parker.
Hello? Hey.
I never got a chance to talk to you before you left. How you doing?
I know it was a hard day.
I'm okay.
I've been through worse.
Listen, back in the lab, when you figured out that Sasha was the killer,
why didn't you tell me where you were going?
Well, because some things are best to do alone.
Wouldn't you agree?
Well,
if you ever need anyone to talk to, you know where to find me.
I appreciate that.
Hey, Parker, in a weird way, this case might have put me on the path to figure
out who I am.
And who's that?
I'll let you know when I get there.
Parker looks worried as he lowers his phone.
Torres glances off, then gets out of his car.
He puts his phone in his jacket pocket as he approaches Walt's cabin.
He steps onto the porch and nears the front door.
Wearing a sling, Walt opens the door.
Is that side job with the CIA still open?
Walt smirks and steps aside.
Torres walks in.
Walt shuts the door behind him.
The image freezes in black and white.
