- Let's go. - Let's go.
MATT: Holy crap.
This is crazy.
In another Amazing Race first,
teams are about to face
the second Driver's Seat on the same leg of the race.
Michelle and Matt will decide
how many byrek each team has to make--
eight, 12 or 16.
After rolling out their dough,
teams must precisely fill
and fold this popular breakfast pastry.
When the chef says they're ready for the oven,
they'll get a clue.
- MATT: There's one eight, then 12. - MICHELLE: One eight.
BOTH: And 16.
- We're gonna do eight. - Yeah.
We knew we were giving ourselves
the least amount of byrek to roll out.
- We earned that. - We earned that.
16... 16.
Once again, just in case our first plan didn't work...
MATT: We wanted to get those, uh,
- those Express Passes out. - MICHELLE: We wanted to push the Express Passes out.
16. 12. 12.
- What? - You could do a 16 here, a 12 there.
- Yeah? - Yeah.
All right, you want to switch it up?
Matt chose to switch the besters.
MATT: Andrea started whining
with Michelle at the first thing.
Y'all gave us 100 pounds?
100 pounds to Pops and my dad is crazy.
- We got 100 pounds. - Yeah, us, too.
It's terrible.
MATT: Oh, like, you want to whine about that?
- You're gonna make 16 byreks now. - [laughs]
MATT: And now you can really whine, okay?
- So that-that was that. Yeah. - You're so nasty.
- Hello. Take your piece. - [speaking Albanian]
A little bit of oil.
MICHELLE: Nice and thin.
A little bit of cheese.
Corner, corner, fold.
Okay, where's the kitchen?
Let's get cooking.
So we are making eight byrek.
Two.
I started baking at a young age.
My mom would always bake with me and my grandma.
And then we get cheese.
During COVID, I started to sell baked things.
Like, I was making 13 to 17 cakes every single week.
I made our wedding cake.
It was huge. It was a big cake.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
I need one more.
RILEY: There's a Driver's Seat.
ANN-MARIE: Michelle and Matt have been here.
Twelve.
I've maybe used a rolling pin, in my life, maybe once.
You know those slice-and-bake cookies
that you get at the grocery stores?
Those are my children's favorite cookies.
RILEY: Me and my sister
can't stand Thanksgiving 'cause the food is not good.
And I love you with my whole heart and soul.
- That's Nana's fault. - No.
I can't say this plays to my strengths.
I'm gonna get this checked first.
Check.
Welcome.
No good. Bigger.
- Bigger. Sure. Easy. - Bigger.
Got you. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Chef.
DAISHA: We're trying to find
the "Institute Art" Kulinar Royal.
Oh, there's a team. They're asking for directions.
- We just got to keep going. - Okay, okay, okay. - It's right...
Okay, we caught up with Daisha and Dalton and Anuar and Andrea.
DYLAN: Whew. Well...
journey to get here, bro.
But I think we're almost there.
- I think, I think we're getting close. - CONNER: Yeah.
No good, no good, no good, no good.
Very good.
- Very good. - Oh.
All right, I got it.
- Thank you. - Thank you.
- Faleminderit. - RILEY: Good job.
MICHELLE: I got one.
No good.
Good.
Ah. Yes. Okay.
- Thank you. Thank you so much. - Good job, Mom.
Now you know what to do.
MICHELLE: The triangle had to be, like, really symmetrical.
Like, everything had to be even, large.
Like, no extra folds, nothing.
I now, like,
knew what I had to do.
This is wild and crazy, but, you know, The Amazing Race.
ANDREA: Oh, I see it.
Up there. Right there.
Park anywhere here, I guess.
There's a parking sign. Let's go.
I'm gonna park right next to this car.
Lock the car, take the keys.
ANN-MARIE: Mine are too big.
A little less dough might help me.
This is the best.
- RILEY: Yeah. - MATT: Let's hope.
Come on, Chef.
CHEF: Very nice, nice, nice, nice.
- No good. - Okay, so redo that one?
- RILEY: Yay. - Good.
Good, good, good, good, good.
- All right. - One more?
- RILEY: Good. One more. - Yes, Chef.
It's a Roadblock again.
- "Who wants to roll it out?" Me. - You.
- Okay, I'll-I'll roll it out. - Flip it.
- I guess I'll roll it out. - You got it again.
DYLAN: Dude, two Driver's Seats. Are we kidding?
Okay, 16 is the highest.
We got the highest this time.
Sixteen.
- We got hit with 16. - CONNER: Yeah.
- 16, 16, 16. - 16.
DYLAN: Oh. Okay.
We don't have the most. We have 12.
We got the most again.
I was hopeful that we weren't gonna get the most amount
at the second Driver's Seat.
I got 16.
I honestly felt frustrated.
We were really trying to avoid
having a target on us.
"Choose any available workstation."
DOUG: I'll go right next to you.
DALTON: All right.
Let's do this.
MICHELLE: I had one more to do.
Now
teams are showing up.
I started to, like, rush a little bit, at this point.
ERIN: Javi maybe should have done this one
because he actually
bakes with his mom all the time.
Um, and I don't do any baking.
I just get a glass of wine and sit there and watch them.
Hey...
MATT: We love that, yeah.
That's exactly what we wanted.
I think this might be my best one.
Yes. Thank you. Thank you.
- Very good. - Okay.
- Congratulations. - [gasps] Thank you so much.
Thank you. Thank you.
Yes. Thank you.
- All right, thanks, guys. See you. - Good luck, guys.
Route Info.
BOTH: "Drive to Bunk'art 1 to find your next clue."
MATT: Can you help us find Bunk'art?
ANDREA: Matt and Michelle gave us the most again.
Is the most 16?
- Yeah. - Yeah.
- Y'all got that? - Yeah.
I have six-- Yeah, we have 16.
- You do? - ERIN: 16, yeah.
Which is unfortunate,
'cause this is not the challenge for me.
The fold, the fold is the trick.
I've been around a kitchen a little bit,
done a little bit of baking.
Used to have this cupcake cookbook
when I was really little.
And every Christmas
I'd make cupcakes for my whole neighborhood.
So it was kind of similar to that
in terms of, like, prepping it out.
- You made cupcakes for the whole neighborhood? - Cupcakes.
For the whole neighborhood. We did a...
- We'd do an annual Christmas party. - That's boss.
- That's so boss. - A new cupcake every year.
- Dang. - Yeah.
DAFINA: Let's do it.
Cool. We got 12.
SARAN: 12. Okay.
Okay.
No good, no good. Watch.
Big.
This small.
Small. It needs to be thinner.
- Got it. Got it. Yes. - Understand?
No good, no good, no good, no good.
Okay.
- Small. - Small.
- Big. - Okay.
No good.
Okay.
I've never rolled a rolling pin on dough before.
That's not right. This is...
not a triangle.
I'm gonna go back and look at the example.
[laughs]
- You want to do it? - Sure.
We have to make 16 byrek.
ANN-MARIE: Check, please.
Better. Much better.
No good. No good.
Good.
- Okay? - Okay. Thank you. Thank you.
Guys, this is brutal.
ERIN: I'm getting myself all sorts of disgusting right now.
[laughs]
I, like, can't even roll it.
ANDREA: You know what?
Honestly, I do make homemade dough quite often.
Ah...
At home, I like to...
[laughs softly]
I like to make homemade pizza and homemade bagels,
homemade pasta.
And I make a huge mess in the kitchen
with flour everywhere, and my dad gets
so mad.
- Four! - Good.
- No good. - Oh!
- Okay. No. - Yes. Okay.
We'll take two. Thank you, thank you.
- Good, good, good. - Yes. Yes. [chuckles]
DAFINA: Wow.
- CONNER: Good job. - Way to go, Andrea.
MATT: We're going
to Bunk'art 1.
- MICHELLE: To the right? - MATT: Yes.
- MICHELLE: Tirane. - MATT: Yes.
Our Driver's Seat, the first time, worked.
Joanna and Ali--
they ended up using their Express Pass, so...
mission accomplished there.
This doesn't seem good.
- [sputters] - How many do you have?
Not enough.
This Roadblock is insane.
Good. Good. Good.
Oh.
Good. Congratulations.
Yes! Thank you. Yes.
Ann-Marie, come here.
- Like this. - Yes.
ANDREA: Flatten out like this.
I know Ann-Marie was struggling,
so I went back in there and helped because,
in the first Roadblock,
Riley is the one that told my dad
that he needed to remove the cover
from the barrel. And that truly saved us.
Love you.
- I love you, too. - You got it. You got it.
- Thank you, baby. - You got this. - Good job.
- Good job, Andrea. - ANDREA: Good luck.
"Drive to Bunk'art 1 to find your next clue."
Let's go.
- Big. - Uh, too thick.
- Can I just take this one? Yeah? - No, no, no, no.
- Okay. Okay. - [chef laughs]
- Good. - Good. - JAVI: Whoo!
And those?
[groans] Okay. All right. It's okay.
Got it better now.
All right, this is better.
Andrea helped me out quite a bit.
We got this.
That's right. That's right.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
- Close your eyes, close your eyes, close your eyes. - Close my eyes.
Woo-hoo! Let's go, let's go. Outside, huh?
- Thank you. Thank you. - You did it.
- Oh! Oh! - Let's go, man.
Make Grandma proud. Let's go.
- No. - No worries. - DAFINA: Okay.
- Breathe. - No. ♪ Don't you worry 'bout a thing.♪
- Formë. - Can't make triangles.
- Okay. - All right, at least I got one.
All right, thank you.
MATT: Bunk'art 1.
- Oh, Bunk'art 1. - Where?
To the left.
Wow. Look at this tunnel.
This is pretty sweet.
MICHELLE: Let's do it, babe.
- To the right, babe? - Straight.
Route Info.
There's more than 100,000 concrete bunkers like this
scattered around Albania.
Despite the enormous cost and effort to build them,
not a single one was used in battle.
Many have been repurposed into cafés,
hostels, art galleries and museums.
The bunkers come in all shapes and sizes,
and today teams will be playing the role of a spy in this one.
Searching through a maze of hallways
that connect more than 100 rooms,
teams need to find one with a race flag.
Teams need to listen to a recorded conversation...
WOMAN: A lovely day for a conversation, dear friend.
...paying careful attention to every seventh word.
At the end of the conversation,
they should have collected 11 words,
which they'll need to crack a code
to get a clue.
"Enter Bunk'art 1 through the main entrance."
MICHELLE: Walk through?
MATT: I haven't seen any yellow or red yet.
MICHELLE: So we enter the bunker, and it is wild.
So many hallways, you could, you could actually get lost.
MATT: 100%.
MICHELLE: Oh, my God, that's terrified me.
Okay, all right, all right, all right, all right. We made it.
Let's do it.
MICHELLE: Every seventh word, right?
- I'm just going to listen first, okay? - Yeah.
Old-school.
"A lovely day for a conversation, dear friend.
"You picked a beautiful view overlooking Tirana.
"May this week before the weather turns.
"We have a mutual friend nearby.
All of my friends left for the coast in the spring."
You have to rewind it.
We had to...
- Listen. - ...transcribe everything
from the audio to paper.
That was not easy.
But at least there was no pressure.
MICHELLE: "For your sake, I hope no one drops by."
This in a, like, a pressure cooker environment
would probably be
- infinitely more stressful. - MICHELLE: Yeah.
"I would remain easy to find."
Done. Okay.
"Note these words to decode the secret location."
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
"Dear." Write down "dear."
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
MICHELLE: "Overlooking." 21.
"Weather."
28. "Nearby."
"The." "One."
"Why."
"Need." "Overlooking."
"No one."
- "To." - Mm-hmm.
All right, let's try.
MICHELLE: "Seventh word reveals a clue."
- You good? - Yeah.
Great job.
MICHELLE: Trench coat. There he is.
- Hey. - Hello.
"Dear overlooking weather nearby the one
why need overlooking no one to."
- No. No. [speaks Albanian] - Okay.
MICHELLE: What could it be?
MATT: We messed up the count.
ERIN: This is, like, awful.
I am so not getting this.
Hers were pretty thin,
so I want to make sure mine are just as thin.
I just don't know how you make 'em thin and long.
That's my best rectangle yet.
Yes. Yes.
Okay.
Yeah. Go get 'em, G.
Keep it up, you guys. We got this.
My strategy was just to make sure I stayed calm.
I started to think about our kids.
I started to think about, like, what's on the line.
And it just made me that much more focused.
- Good. Good. - Ah.
- JOANNA: Good job. - All right. Thank you.
Yes.
- Thank you. I'll give you a high five. Is that okay? - Yeah.
- Locked in! - Yes. Yes. Thank you. Thank you.
Okay. Okay.
- Let's go, baby. Let's go. - [grunts]
Let's go, Erin.
Javi staying positive is
everything to me right now.
Like, he's just my rock.
I love that man. I wish he was doing this,
but I'm happy to be doing it with him.
I know that we need to go under the freeway
- and then I think left. - Then left.
- Is that correct? - I think so.
- Yeah. - We cannot get lost right now.
I don't want to get lost going the wrong way.
- We can't afford it. - I'm with you.
Slow and steady, I think, is good right now.
Excuse me?
Do you know where Bunk'art 1 is?
- Yeah. - Oh, God, we're so far.
This traffic's going to be really rough,
- I'll tell you that much. - Yeah.
CONNER: Man, we are stopped stopped.
Might as well... take a nap. [chuckles]
Do you know who Matt and Michelle remind me of?
- Who? - They remind me of District 1...
- The Hunger Games? - The Hunger Games. Yeah.
You know what happened to District 1 at the end, though.
[Dalton laughs]
They lost.
And it wasn't pretty.
MATT: "To one overlooking
- the weather nearby"? - How is that decoding
a location?
We just circled every seventh word and read it to the guy,
but we didn't decode anything.
What if we, like, write it down in a line
and, like, take the first letter of the word?
Something weird like that, you know?
Well, the first letter of our original one
spells a word-- "down."
- I don't know? Down? - "Downtown."
Oh, my God.
And then O-N-T. Ont?
Want to just try "Downtown Ont"?
Sure.
Downtown Ont?
- [speaks Albanian] No. - Hmm.
I'd be a crappy spy.
I don't know why I can't do this.
I think I made this one a little too thin.
JAVI: It's not going good. We are
third to last right now,
but compared to the others,
Erin's not coming in anywhere near as much.
This is definitely not her strong suit.
So I think she's really struggling back there.
DAFINA: Good job, G.
Please, please, please, please, please.
Good job, good job.
- What? What? What? - DAFINA: Yes.
Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh.
- Oh, oh. Ah, ah, ah, oh. - Oh, yes.
[shrieks]
- Oh, my... - [Dafina laughs]
DAFINA: G, let's get out of here.
- Thank you. Yes. - Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
- Good job. Good job. - Okay.
- No good. No good. - One, two, three,
- four, five, six, seven. - No good.
- Thank you. - That one's good?
No good.
Okay.
- JAVI: Ooh. - ERIN: I have to do seven more.
So, unfortunately,
both teams that were behind us are now ahead of us.
I just want to bang it out and just, like, come up from behind.
I just don't know if that's going to happen for us today.
We're done.
[singing in Albanian]
If you'd like to experience the world on The Amazing Race,
then go to cbs.com/casting and apply now.
The world is waiting for you.
I think I'm just psyching myself out.
We've just got to try and be as optimistic as we can.
Erin-- that was a really tough Roadblock for her.
Even despite that, she did such a great job
of just not letting it get her down.
ERIN: I was like, "Let's stay positive.
We'll see what happens."
JAVI: After the race,
the next step for us is, we want to have kids.
So we want to make sure that we're bringing
the best foot forward for our kids.
ERIN: You know, show them it's better just to have fun.
Don't take life too seriously.
I got to stay calm, cool and collected.
We said "Downtown O-N-T."
MICHELLE: But there's no words that we're thinking are,
like, one or two words that are messing up our thing, right?
"No one" is...
I think "no one" is two words.
- Maybe break up that one word. - Yeah, let's do it.
"Remain easy... one."
"Downtown One"?
Maybe... that sounds better than "Ont."
No, that's it. Downtown One.
Let's try that.
[Matt sighs]
Downtown One.
[speaks Albanian]
- I love you. You're so smart. - Oh, my God. Thank you.
MATT: "Drive to Downtown One to find your next clue."
MICHELLE: Downtown, though. Downtown Tirana.
Right now the map is not showing where we're going,
so I cannot figure it out.
ANDREA: I mean, it sucks that I got us a good lead
in the pastry challenge and now we're lost.
RILEY: "Choose any marked room with a number."
- Here's a room. - Is it marked?
It has to be marked.
DAISHA: Is it this way?
DALTON: There's arrows pointing everywhere.
DAISHA: Dude, this is kind of cool.
DALTON: This is really cool.
- I see it, I see it, I see it. - ANN-MARIE: Good job.
All right.
"Listen to a recording made in secret."
ANN-MARIE: This is old school.
Mama time.
- Hit the, hit the play button. - [clicks]
WOMAN: A lovely day for a conversation, dear friend.
DALTON: This is it. All right.
All right. You call out.
A lovely day for a conversation, dear friend.
Push pause. Push pause.
MAN: You picked a beautiful view
overlooking...
- Okay. - Two. Okay.
- Okay. - Okay.
Formë, forme, formë, formë.
Okay, I need to do four more.
[Javi and Erin sigh]
"Choose any marked room with a number."
Getting to the bunker actually went well for us.
We got there, and
there were still a lot of clues in the box.
So we were like, "Wow." Like, we made up some time
on that drive.
- This one. - Okay.
All right.
- A lovely day for a conversation... - Do you want this?
- I got this. - Okay.
ANUAR: Which one was the exit?
ANDREA: Not this one. Not this one.
Keep going around.
ANUAR: I don't think it's straight.
ANDREA: Okay. Well, then you do what you want.
I need help, and I just found someone here.
You can't do it without me, Dad.
ANUAR: Hurry up, then.
We're looking for Bunk'art number one.
Can you look in your phone?
Oh.
Okay.
So what do you want to do?
You're supposed to give me directions.
- Well, I'm trying. - Okay, so what do I do?
You just... I asked you to keep circling in the thing.
- So what do I do? - We're just gonna have to go straight.
- And then what? - I don't know.
You were supposed to take your first right,
but you didn't listen. You just sped off.
- Then you need to navigate. - But you're just driving.
I think the fact that my dad and I haven't spent
that much time together is tough
because we're still learning each other's
strengths and weaknesses.
I'm so frustrated right now.
I haven't felt like this during the entire race.
DYLAN: We got super lost.
So the chance another team got this lost
would be pretty low, I'd say.
Well, we're getting close, I think.
GARRETT: We know we're close, at least, you know.
How many cars are there? That's going to be the moment of truth.
That's a good question.
SARAN: Today is a day.
It's like, "Welcome to The Amazing Race."
DAFINA: We got to keep the joy, G.
SARAN: Yeah, that is true.
And not get so bogged down...
- No. No. - ...with being lost
and not knowing what the hell is going on.
- Oh, look. Bunk'art 1. - Oh. Good job, G.
- Come on. - If only we can just
continue to see those signs, it'll lead us right there.
Please show us the way.
ERIN: I feel decently confident about this one, but
he is a harsh... critic.
Last check, hopefully.
All right, check.
Please, please, please, please, please, please, please.
- Okay, yes. Thank you so much. Thank you. - Yes.
- Congratulations. - Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
All right, Javi, let's go.
Who knows? Maybe people will get lost and we'll get saved.
The only thing I can think of is to look
for something else I'm missing.
It kept saying the word "overlooking."
It said "overlooking" twice. So I'm like, "Oh.
"There's something in the bunker.
It's somewhere in here, we're overlooking it."
What the ...?
One thing our family does do in the holidays...
We're not baking.
One thing we are doing is going to escape rooms.
And we used escape rooms as part of our training.
- RILEY: We did. - To be able to look for clues,
to be able to solve riddles.
RILEY: I'm going through the briefcase.
I looked under the table. I couldn't even
read the language I was reading in.
ANN-MARIE: "You remain always
"for hope is near.
Weather is overlooking, dear."
It's almost like a riddle.
We're taking those words, and we're thinking
that it has to be some kind of, like, riddle
to tell us where to go because it was like,
"Overlooking, dear one.
"Overlooking here.
Don't worry. It's near."
"You always remain, for hope is near.
Weather is overlooking, dear."
Yes, let's try that.
ANN-MARIE: Other teams are here, baby.
RILEY: I know.
Hello, sir.
"You always remain, for hope is near.
Weather is overlooking, dear."
[speaks Albanian]
RILEY: Okay, let's try again.
- DALTON: One. - Okay, so "no one."
"Dear overlooking weather nearby
the one why need overlooking no one to."
Let's try it.
Hello.
- DAISHA: Exit? - Yeah.
[quietly]: "The one why need overlooking no one to."
[speaks Albanian]
Okay. Thank you.
DAISHA: I wonder if it's the same one
- as Riley and Ann-Marie. - DALTON: Let's talk to them.
Okay.
Hey, y'all. Do you think it's the same one?
- RILEY: What do you guys have? - DALTON: Did y'all get...?
DAISHA: What did y'all start with?
- DALTON: Here. Here, here, here, here. - ANN-MARIE: "Dear."
DAISHA: It is. It's the same thing.
Is "no one" one word or two words, guys?
- ANN-MARIE: "No one"? Two words. - "No one" is two words.
Yeah, so it's just "no"...
RILEY: Daisha and Dalton
had their last word wrong.
DALTON: It changes the "to."
RILEY: They thought "no one" was one word, and we're like,
"No, no, that's definitely two."
So we gave them the proper word
to replace that.
DALTON: Oh, this is gonna be tough.
DAISHA: I looked at the paper, and it just popped out to me,
and I knew immediately what it was.
Is it Downtown One?
Okay. [speaks Albanian]
Thank you so much.
And honestly, before I could even think about helping,
- I just left. - It felt good.
- [Daisha laughs] - [Dalton shushes]
DAISHA: I definitely think it's possible
that Ann-Marie and Riley are wondering,
you know, "Why didn't y'all tell us?"
They should have been paying attention once we walked out.
That's honestly on them.
- So you just want to get out of here? - Yeah.
RILEY: Did they, did they get it?
ANN-MARIE: Did they go?
"Dear one, the weather overlooking need no easy why."
- No. - No. - Did they just get it?
Did you see them come back? They must have got it.
RILEY: Daisha and Dalton would never have gotten it
if we didn't give them that proper word.
- ANN-MARIE: They got it. - RILEY: What the ...?
ANN-MARIE: Next thing you know, they were gone.
And we're like, "They're gone?
"Wait a minute. They... We just helped them.
They didn't help us?"
RILEY: Damn it, Daisha.
[Dalton snorts]
RILEY: Daisha and Dalton
got it, and they didn't tell us, and we were helping them.
It just kind of stinks because we gave them something,
and then they just didn't pay it back.
So, from a game standpoint,
like, we're going to U-Turn them.
We have that in the back of our heads.
When we've helped people, they've helped us.
You know, just, like, that decency.
Noted.
- Have you tried reading it in this order? - Yes.
- Keep your eyes open. - MATT: Yep, I'm looking.
MICHELLE: That could be the one.
- Downtown One parking. - Uh, yeah, Downtown One.
- MICHELLE: Yeah, I see it. - Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- Perfect. That's it. - MICHELLE: Okay.
MATT: Great job.
- MICHELLE: Come on, babe. - I'm coming.
"Race to the Pit Stop."
This statue in the heart of Tirana
honors this country's most famous national hero--
Skanderbeg, who led a rebellion
against the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century.
His statue sits in front
of a mosaic of geological stones
gathered from around the country.
Today it is the Pit Stop for this leg of the race.
The last team to check in here may be eliminated.
Hi. Do you know where Skanderbeg Square is?
- Thank you. Right, baby? - MATT: Yeah, right.
SARAN: This is massive.
- So we're looking... - What's the number?
- This is number three. - Let's go here.
This is a number.
It probably doesn't work.
Think we got to find another room.
"Dear one, the weather overlooking nearby
need no easy why."
No. [speaks Albanian]
RILEY: What the frick?
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. "Easy."
Can we take this with us?
ALI: Mm-hmm.
- RILEY: You get it yet? - ANN-MARIE: "Overlooking."
- RILEY: Did you get it? - JOANNA: Yeah.
- Do you want to check our words to this? - Yes.
We saw our Boss Lady crew-- Joanna and Ali.
They are our number one allies.
So we're like, "Hey, let's help each other out."
- JOANNA: "Overlooking"? - RILEY: Yep.
- "No"? - Uh-huh.
- "Easy." - Exactly.
Okay, so that order will not work.
- Oh. - You have to riddle it.
Daisha and Dalton were here.
Freaking, we helped them get one word.
- Daisha did something... - Okay.
- ...and just left and didn't tell us. - Okay.
DAISHA: I do feel like
we got out of there, like, relatively quick.
I think Ann-Marie and Riley understand
it's part of the game, because I bet
if they figured it out, too, they would have done the same.
- This is the exit. - Okay. I don't see numbers.
- This doesn't have a number, though. - No. No.
We don't have a goddang old clue.
[laughs]
JOANNA: We have to whisper
the secret location, not necessarily...
- I think I got it. I think I got it. - What is it?
First letter-- "D," "O."
- Oh, yeah. - RILEY: "Down."
- Downtown. - Downtown One. - Downtown One.
- ANN-MARIE: Come on, Ri. - JOANNA: Should we try it? Great job, Riley.
RILEY: Yes. Come on.
Okay, I think I got it. I think I got it.
Downtown One.
- Yes. [speaks Albanian] - Yes.
- I saw it. I saw it. - Thank you. Thank you.
Let's go tell Joanna and Ali. That's it.
- That's it. - Okay. All right. Thank you guys so much.
- Got you, guys. - Nice job, baby.
Oh, my God. All right.
JOANNA: We're making up some time, baby.
MICHELLE; Let's go!
- [sighs] - Okay.
[both panting]
KEOGHAN: Oh, Michelle and Matt, what a day you have had.
[Matt sighs]
BOTH: Welcome to Tirana, Albania.
- Thank you. - Thank you.
- Thank you. - Thank you so much.
Michelle and Matt, you're team number one.
- Yes. Oh. - Yes. Awesome job.
And you know what that means.
- What do you got? - What do you got?
Well, as the winners of this leg of the race,
you have won OneKeyCash from Expedia,
which you can use towards a trip to Cuzco, Peru.
- Cool. Really cool. - That's nice.
- You know where that is? - Machu Picchu?
- There we go. - Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
KEOGHAN: Expedia has put together a recommended
five-night unique experience that includes
a once-in-a-lifetime guided journey to Machu Picchu,
an adrenaline-filled ATV ride to Rainbow Mountain,
and a hands-on Peruvian cooking class
with a local market visit in Cuzco.
Just kept getting better and better.
MATT: The whole day was chaotic.
Maybe we smoked out two Express Passes today.
To anyone who feels a type of way about the Driver's Seat,
you should've got there first.
- Yeah. - And then you could have done it to us.
DYLAN: Oh, my God.
There's four clues in here.
"Enter Bunk'art 1 to the main entrance."
What the heck? Where are we, dude?
GARRETT: Okay, let's go.
Get going. Whew.
- SARAN: Guys, we have no clue. - Have you found the marked room?
- No. - Have you guys found a marked room?
- Have you guys found a room? - No.
We didn't go down here.
All right, every room
down the hallway, double-check.
- Here we go, here we go, here. - [Dylan shushes]
- "Taken." - Yep.
GARRETT: All right, this is us.
CONNER: Let's get to it, bro.
ANDREA: There's a sign.
Bunk'art 1 to the left right there.
There's a sign. Yes, we're good.
[sighs] That Roadblock was absolutely awful.
I'm really hoping it doesn't take us out.
But, you know, crazier things have happened.
And hopefully we can still make it there.
I think he says, "You picked a beautiful view."
- I need to rewind it. - Okay.
"I... will... remain... easy."
DAFINA: So maybe the first letter of each word?
[whispers]: Oh, Dafina, "Downtown."
ANDREA: What the heck? There's three cars here?
Dad, we have a chance.
Maybe. Come on.
- What do you guys have so far? - Well, we just...
So, we did the first letter of each word
to form "Downtown."
- Oh. - But... - I think we're stuck.
- That one's not right. - ...we're stuck with the O-N-T.
- The leftovers, O-N-T. - 'Cause that's not...
We got... We have "easy." Maybe "Downtown One"?
- Hmm? - We have "easy" as our last word, not "to."
How did you get "easy"?
Well, it could be, 'cause "no one..."
Are they counting "no one" as one word or two words?
"No one" is two words, I thought.
SARAN: Let's try it. Let's try it.
Downtown One.
[whispers]: Downtown One.
[whispers]: Downtown One.
[whispers]: Downtown One?
- Let's go, let's go, let's go. - DAFINA: Okay.
Here, Dad. This one doesn't say "taken."
Pens and paper.
Right here.
You have to put this in. How do you use this?
- It's from your era. - [laughing]: You're kidding me.
Uh, fun fact.
She has never seen a cassette player before.
ANDREA: Okay.
Back to your era, Dad.
DALTON: Downtown One.
- Let's go! - Yeah, Downtown One. Is this the right street?
- DALTON: This is it. - DAISHA: There.
"Race to the Pit Stop."
DALTON: Excuse me. Thank you.
RILEY: This is not where we want to be.
I mean, it's not not in the right direction,
but it's freaking chaos.
There's no easy way to navigate the city.
JOANNA: This is torturous.
It's, like, we don't know any of these streets.
- DAISHA: Albania! - DALTON: Whoo!
- [laughs] - [laughs] Whoo!
KEOGHAN: Welcome. Welcome.
You are team number two. Congratulations.
So, tell us about your day.
It's obviously a good one.
We ended up going through a bunker,
and then we had to decipher a clue.
We were with Ann-Marie and Riley.
And we said, "Hey, do y'all want to work together on this?"
They didn't really say much to us.
We knew that we had all the same words.
- "No one" is two words. - Two words.
DALTON: It changes the "to."
Thank you so much. Let's go.
KEOGHAN: Wait. You left them? You didn't tell them?
I did. I just walked away.
- But were you guys working together? - Yes,
but, Phil, the claws got to come out at some point.
Wait. Hold on a second.
What happens if they get stuck there all night
and I have to go eliminate them over there?
Send 'em my warmest regards, I guess.
- [laughing]: I don't know. - [laughs]
We'll send them an edible gift basket.
DAISHA: We love working with other teams
whenever it can benefit us, but
I think on the next leg, we're really just going to focus
on running our own race, because the second
that we started focusing on just us,
we started doing better.
ANDREA: All right. "Down."
"Town."
"One."
"Downtown One"? Do you want to go ask?
Just find the man with the trench coat.
"Dear. Dear overlooking..."
No, that's not right.
Downtown One.
[speaks Albanian]
Yes. Yes. Thank you, thank you.
- [Anuar sighs] - We did that so fast.
JAVI: And it says, "A marked room with a number."
- ERIN: Okay. - Okay.
ERIN: Javi's amazing at puzzles.
We felt confident, like, we could maybe catch up.
JAVI: I, like, blocked the world out,
put the headphones on, hit "play," and just, like,
started writing.
We're actually not out of this.
Javi's definitely the puzzle guy,
and he can do it.
DAFINA: We're headed to Downtown One,
but I don't know now
where we are, relative to that road we were just on.
I'm gonna try to go back the other way.
Back the opposite way we were going?
Yeah, to go back to our starting point maybe.
GARRETT: I think we'll be okay, dude.
- I think we got this. - Mm-hmm.
Then we got a free Express Pass to play an extra leg.
- Yeah. - Which will come in handy.
DYLAN: Now look for Downtown One.
The building's gonna be on a corner.
RILEY: So we need to go up to this street...
- JOANNA: And turn right? - ...so we can go this way.
JOANNA: It's just down there, isn't it? So close.
ANDREA: So you're gonna take a right on the giant boulevard.
The difference that good directions can make.
- JAVI: Oh, my God. - ERIN: What, what, what, what?
Every seventh word, right? So what is... Maybe it's, like,
- what the word starts with. - ERIN: "Downtown One"?
JAVI: We think we figured it out. I-I don't know...
ERIN: We think Javi figured it out.
Okay.
Downtown One.
Uh, yes.
- Yes. - Yes, Javi.
Oh, my God, you did so good. Okay.
- Okay. - Okay. Okay. Amazing.
- Thank you so much. - Thank you so much.
DAFINA: We turn right before the roundabout.
I don't feel like we're going to hit a roundabout on this.
This is a highway.
Maybe it turns into a smaller road.
I don't think so.
My brain is fried.
Absolutely fried.
DAFINA: This is super critical because we are fighting
to stay alive, so any hiccup...
is a make-or-break.
Today we've been at the back of the pack the whole day.
But as we know, everybody is struggling with directions.
And hopefully
this is another instance where everyone is struggling.
GARRETT: That's it, that's it, that's Downtown One.
- Right. - And then just turn right here.
- See, that's Downtown One. - Yep. Parking.
DOUG: Okay, here comes Downtown One.
- Hey. How's it going, guys? - What's up, boys?
DYLAN: Right here, parking. This is it.
"Make way on foot
to Skanderbeg Square and find Phil."
All right, here we go.
- DOUG: Boys. - DYLAN: Is it Pit Stop?
- Yeah, over there. Pit Stop, yeah. - Yeah.
"...to Skanderbeg Square and find Phil."
Let's go this way. They went this way.
Okay. Yeah.
RILEY: Where is Downtown One?
Oh, my gosh, there's Conner and Garrett. Okay.
Ooh.
RILEY: We just saw Conner and Garrett,
which is not good 'cause they left way after us.
It's right after this yellow flower.
Is this parking for that building?
Where is the ramp?
- Okay. - RILEY: I lost Ali and Joanna.
Right here, to the right. Right here.
- JOANNA: Okay. - ALI: There we go.
- Who's there? - ANDREA: That's Joanna and Ali.
- Is that them turning in right there? - RILEY: Yeah.
That one, that one, that one. Follow them.
ANDREA: And another team, Dad. Holy crap.
Right?
Y'all, if we stay together, we're all still in this race.
We can do it.
[panting]
GARRETT: Come on. There's Phil. I see him.
- What's up, Phil? - KEOGHAN: What's going on?
- What's going on? - Not much.
- You keeping it mellow? - Yeah, we are keeping it mellow.
Ooh, look at this.
- Yeah. Let's go... - Wow.
- Woo-hoo-hoo! - Wow.
- [overlapping chatter] - Holy moly.
- Dude! - Oh, bring it in, brother.
[overlapping chatter]
KEOGHAN: Wow. And another team right here.
They can't beat you down. They can't beat you down.
Let's talk about what happened to you all today.
- Michelle and Matt... - They targeted us.
- Joanna, they made it very clear today... - Yeah. Oh, yeah.
...who they felt they wanted to slow down.
We're a threat, baby! We're a threat!
Andrea, was that a surprise to you?
I was surprised.
I didn't think we were that much of a threat.
I know it was tough, what happened,
but I hope you're all making choices to give yourselves
the best possible chance of winning this Amazing Race.
Yes, it's cutthroat, but you also get
to choose how you want to compete,
and each one of these teams standing in front of you compete
with class and integrity.
- Yeah. - Not malicious, helping when you can.
And I think each one of these teams right here
does that flawlessly, and I have so much respect for all of them.
ANN-MARIE: This competition's getting fiercer and fiercer
with less and less teams.
- Yeah. - But you can play a good, clean game.
And the game will determine
who crosses that last finish line.
SARAN: This is
the most frustrating thing ever.
Arkitekt Kasemi. That was it.
- That was it? - That was it.
DAFINA: Missing a turn could definitely be the difference
in staying in this race and being eliminated.
We have to do a U-turn, okay?
So don't freak out.
DAFINA: You go an extra block
in this thick traffic,
that's... minutes.
JAVI: Downtown One is gonna be on our right-hand side.
It might even be right here.
Yeah, Downtown One. Yes.
We have to run up the ramp.
Okay, go back up. Go, go, go, go, go.
- Downtown One! Oh! - Yeah.
SARAN: Here we are.
Okay. "Make your way on foot to Skanderbeg Square
and find Phil."
- What did it say? - There's a clue box over here.
ERIN: Oh, my God, we're still in it.
We're still in it. We're still in it.
- So, Skanderbeg Square. - And find Phil.
JAVI: I'm gonna have to tie my shoe.
Put it right here. Just put it up.
- Put it up. - I can't get my leg that high.
What do you mean you can't put your leg that high?
[panting]: Okay.
Where is the square?
ERIN: It's a little bit of a jog.
Where is the square?
- JAVI: Hold on. - You can do it. We're almost there.
- [Javi sighs heavily] - It's a footrace.
One step closer to a million dollars.
Let's go up here where this light is, G.
ERIN: Let's go. You can do it. You can do it.
Jog it out. Jog it out.
- Yeah, this has to be it. This is it. - Yeah. Okay.
Okay, we're getting close.
- JAVI: I think it's straight ahead. - ERIN: You see them?
- Is this him? - This has to be.
ERIN: Phil.
[Erin pants heavily]
Erin and Javi.
ERIN: Please give us some good news, Phil.
I want to put you out of your misery.
You are the second to last to arrive.
- Let's go, baby! Whoo! - [squeals]
KEOGHAN: You are team number eight. Congratulations.
JAVI: Oh, my God.
Oh, my God. I love you.
- KEOGHAN: Ouch. - Ouch, ouch, ouch.
- [Keoghan sighs] - In every way.
I am sorry to tell you that you are
the last team to arrive, and you are eliminated.
SARAN: This feels horrible
to be here talking to you
to go out like this, but...
You should be so proud of yourselves... really.
You got, you got through five legs of this Amazing Race.
- That's true. - You're right. You're right about that.
- That's how you got to look at it. - You're right.
And you got your sister
- right here with you. - That's true.
Why is she so special to you?
I know that she's my number one fan.
She's always here. I know I can count on her support.
You're a rock star and the best big sister ever.
DAFINA: We are being eliminated
a lot earlier than we had anticipated.
It still hasn't really sunk in.
But I hope, though, that it doesn't sink in.
We just want it to roll off of our backs
and remember all the good times and, you know, all the fun
- that we had. - That's what will happen.
- Yeah. - That's what we do.
- That's right. - Yeah.

KEOGHAN: Next time on The Amazing Race...
At the Intersection, Doug and Dylan get iced out.
Looking for a partner, looking for a partner.
- Yeah, they're gone. - Rats.
KEOGHAN: And Michelle and Matt hatch a plan.
MATT: You're coming with us.
MICHELLE: We wanted to bamboozle
Daisha and Dalton.
MATT: It turned out to be
a power move, I think.
This crazy plan worked to perfection.
