Is it real...?

It’s actually for real...?

Why?

Why are you doing this to us?

I guess this means the kiDnap GAME has begun.

KIDNAP GAME

6 CONTESTRANTS LEFT. 8 DAYS AND 5 HOURS UNTIL THE GAME ENDS.

TOKYO

Why did you choose us? What are you trying to achieve?

So inquisitive. Insatiable.

You're slaves to desire.

That's one less rival... lucky you.

You don't respect life.

I can say the same to you.

Are some lives worth more than others?

- Police! - Here we go.

You're gonna use state power and break the rules?

I'm arresting you to rescue the hostages. That's all.

Do you understand?

If you break the rules, your wife dies.

You bastard...

Excuse me, sir.

- Stay back! - Please stop.

Don't move!

Is this guy's life worth a lot?

Or is it worth a little?

Stop... Help me...

- Move it! - You okay?

SEOUL PM 01:04 KST

I told you to cut it out.

I said stop contacting me.

MISSION

COMMIT MURDER.

Let go! Do I need to hit you again?

COMMIT MURDER.

COMMIT MURDER.

COMMIT MURDER.

SINGAPORE PM 12:04 SGT

Handed by responding police officer.

Police believe that the would-be bank robbers were motivated...

What do you mean? This is not a prank!

Tony will die if I don’t complete this mission.

Robbers were motivated by...

- Asian Civilisations Museum! Hurry, please! - OK.

Where they have the treasure-laden ship that sank! Yes!

TAIPEI PM 12:07 TST

Hey, you haven't told anyone about us, have you?

You deleted the video, right?

That's okay, then...

MISSION

MAKE BENZ WANG ADMIT AND PUBLICLY CONFESS HIS DRUG SYNDICATE TIES.

BENZ WANG

POLITICIAN BEHIND CANNABIS LEGALIZATION

No way he'd admit to that.

Dao...

Aum...

Help me...

PM 02:19 JST SHINJUKU CENTRAL POLICE STATION SPECIAL INVESTIGATION HEADQUARTERS

We will not conduct a sloppy investigation like the Manila Police.

As it is, we've got zero suspects and nothing on the vehicle.

On top of that, the hostage's husband, Toshiro Niide, gave us the slip.

Chief Inspector Takatsuki, what should we make of that?

Niide wants to arrest the kidnappers by him...

A lower-level cop can't handle this!

Yes.

Find Niide immediately!

Yes sir!

"kiDnap GAME." You really haven't heard of it?

The man arrested in Manila was shouting, "this is a game."

Sorry, I couldn't tell you.

I'm being forced to play the game.

What?!

This is my crash pad.

Don't expect a five-star stay.

Thanks.

How dare you lie!

One hostage was killed! Saori could be next.

I'm sorry.

The only reason I have this job...

is because of Saori.

Six years ago, I felt the whole world was against me.

Explain yourself.

I told you to verify everything.

How dare you make a mistake of fact!

We're getting crucified by other networks, both on and offline!

This is on your head.

If Saori hadn't been there...

Here you go.

If you don't eat and feel better,

you won't be able to start over or make amends.

Saori would always try to save people.

I want to save her as much as you do.

No more lies and secrets from now on.

Okay.

It's hard to imagine the hostages were chosen at random.

There must be a common denominator...

A reason why they were chosen.

You mean the perp took their loved ones out of a grudge against the players?

Exactly.

I want to find the others.

The Naha hostage is Tomiko Higa.

Her son Kuranosuke is a software engineer, fairly famous in IT circles.

He developed the Uchiake app that was popular a while back.

Any other family?

Doesn't look like it.

Then there's no doubt he's the player.

This man kidnapped in Taipei is a chef patron.

He lives with his wife, teenage daughter, and young son.

The children probably aren't involved.

That leaves the wife.

She's a model known for looking young.

The heir kidnapped in Singapore...

I think his girlfriend is a player.

She made the viral kiDnap GAME post.

Any posts after that?

None.

Right.

An illness left her blind five years ago.

Her father is a renowned surgeon, but he rarely operates now.

Have any of you seen my daughter?

The father's the player, then?

But the mother is also famous and owns a popular beauty brand.

So it's one of the parents...

But what about the woman in Bangkok?

Her wealthy parents are deceased with no living relatives.

Maybe the player is her lover.

Could be. I'll look up the men around her.

Thanks.

So far, nothing seems to connect everyone.

Yeah...

What's the plan?

I'll have to ask the other players directly.

Will they cooperate? "Only one shall prevail," right?

They'll be racing to finish first.

Yeah.

It's all I can do at the moment.

I need to get back.

I'll call if I learn more.

Okay.

I'm in the kiDnap GAME. Can we talk?

What do you want?

If you’re in the game then you shouldn’t be wasting time writing to me.

I want to identify the kidnapper.

There must be a common denominator among us players somewhere.

Common denominator...?

I don’t know. I’m in a hurry to complete some kind of mission.

He’ll die if I’m late.

We’ve arrived.

I don’t have anything to say to you. Don’t text me!

CHECKPOINT ONE CLEARED. AWAIT NEXT INSTRUCTION.

I’M IN THE KIDNAP GAME. CAN WE TALK?

What's this?

What?

"kiDnap GAME?"

Come.

Show me.

TOSHIRO NIIDE

kiDnap... as in "kidnap"?

Are you in it too?!

You can't be serious.

Was Rian kidnapped for a game?!

Calm down. It's a prank!

We've got to reply...

What do I say? I'll do anything to save her!

Look, please just calm down...

I'll save Rian...

I'll definitely save her.

I'm in the kiDnap GAME. Let's talk.

What's your mission?

To capture the mastermind.

I gain nothing by cooperating. I will win.

I just want to talk.

AKINA ISOBE

Any leads?

The woman in Bangkok hangs out with a few men,

but no one seems to be special.

I see...

But she has a female roommate.

A roommate...

Apparently she's a hostess renting the room.

Thanks for the tip.

Any details on the roommate?

I'll send a link.

PM 07:14 JST

Matching misanga bracelets...

I’M IN THE KIDNAP GAME. CAN WE TALK?

Come on...

OK

Coming late and bringing a partner...

- Never mind. - Right?

- Let it go. - Right?

BENZ WANG'S DAUGHTER IN STUDENT PROTESTS

I was wondering why they came here.

Well, Hansa said her dad's super rich.

Hi. I’m the player from Tokyo... English okay?

Yes, English is okay.

I’m Aum. Bangkok.

You’re participating for Dao Saetang, is that right?

- Yup. - Thanks.

My wife was kidnapped.

Tokyo... so you’re police, right? What’s your mission?

To capture the mastermind.

You’re trying to catch the mastermind to finish the game to save your wife, huh?

No!

The second you catch the mastermind, you win the game.

Then all the other hostages will die.

- Sorry, I can’t work with you. - Why?

You helped me make up my mind.

I’m gonna try and complete my own mission.

Wait!

PLEASE DON’T CONTACT MY WIFE.

Wife...

So it's the doctor...

ARE YOU THE ONE IN THE GAME?

I WANT TO WORK TOGETHER. PLEASE TALK TO ME.

I believe you.

I believe in you.

DAY 3

XX UNIVERSITY, BANGKOK AM 11:02 ICT

Whoa, you've made a lot already.

At the cost of my sleep.

Don't overdo it. You don't look well.

You head home. I'll do the rest.

Okay. I'll go home.

Hansa Wang?

Get in there.

What's going on?

- Get lost! - Hansa?!

Call your father.

My father?

Benz Wang! Yes! Now!

Sir?

What is it?

It's your daughter.

Hansa?

I'm done talking.

Something doesn't seem right.

What?

Publicly confess to your crimes or I'll kill your daughter.

What's going on? Is this a joke?

Save me! Please!

You got that?

Come clean publicly or your daughter dies.

Wait, come clean about what?

Your ties to the drug syndicate! You're in collusion, right?!

Get the press there and tell the country!

Why are you doing this?

Just behave yourself.

My father disowned me.

It doesn't matter. A parent's a parent.

Don't make any funny moves or I'll kill you.

Assault team is in position. Shall we move in?

The building is completely surrounded.

Release the hostage and surrender immediately.

A hostage crisis is unfolding at this university in Bangkok.

A young woman armed with a knife has taken a student prisoner.

Don't come any closer.

If you do, I'll kill her.

I only have one demand!

Benz Wang!

If you want to save your daughter,

admit your ties to the drug syndicate and make a public confession!

The captor has made a demand.

She wants M.P. Benz Wang

to publicly confess his alleged drug syndicate ties.

The hostage has been identified as Hansa Wang, daughter of...

Dammit.

According to local police, the hostage, identified as Hansa Wang...

STANDOFF IN BANGKOK. CAPTOR IS LIKELY A KIDNAP GAME PLAYER.

So what?!

The captor demands that Benz Wang publicly admit links...

We have a new development.

A student was taken hostage at a Bangkok university...

The hostage has been identified as the daughter of Benz Wang...

I hope you're not contacting the detective.

Unless you're gathering info,

you'll be committing another grave offense as a journalist.

We're not in contact.

I'll have you know, the police came asking about you.

Yes?

Get out of there.

What?

The police are on to me. It's not safe there.

Got it.

He's here!

Give up already!

Run!

Go!

Niide!

Hyodo...

Hello?

This is Uemura, from the food truck.

What is it?

Just now, a young man left me a package to give to you.

A young man?

PM 01:35 ICT

What are you waiting for?

The hostage is a politician's daughter.

If anything happens to her, we'll be in serious trouble.

If you die, it'll all be for nothing.

Thanks.

Where's yours?

That's all I have. I didn't think it'd take this long.

LIVE FROM M.P. BENZ WANG'S HOME

What you said about my father...

Is it true?

I heard that rumor once and demanded answers from him.

That's why he disowned me.

I'm sorry...

for dragging you into this.

I'll confess to his crimes instead. So don't do this.

That's no use.

You know about the simultaneous kidnappings?

Yes.

My girlfriend was kidnapped.

The kidnapper told me to make Benz Wang publicly confess his drug syndicate ties.

Said it was a kiDnap GAME.

KiDnap GAME... I thought it was only a rumor.

No...

I couldn't think of a better way.

That person must be so precious to you for you to do this.

Dao's my first true love.

I'd do anything for her.

I owe my life to Dao.

I used to be addicted to marijuana and my life was a mess...

She set me back on my feet.

Where do you live?

I don't have a home.

What?

Dao has a big apartment, and she let me live there.

But I didn't want to be a burden to her.

I wanted to be her equal.

So I started doing bad things again to earn money.

You're still smoking this stuff?!

I thought you already quit!

You promised me.

I don't use it anymore.

Then what's this?

Are you still dealing?

Why, Aum?!

It's the only way I know how to live!

Deep down, I knew Dao was right.

I just didn't want to lose her.

Dao waited for me to come home...

and that's when they took her.

Aum!

A present from Aum.

From Aum?

Dao!

When I went back to apologize,

she was already gone...

I never told her how I felt.

That's why I'd do anything...

to see Dao one more time.

I'll help you.

Sir?

- What? - Look at this.

Dad, please admit and confess what you did... Please!

If you don't confess within an hour...

Please help me, Dad! Please!

This is a live video.

How will Mr. Benz respond?

His daughter's being held hostage, and he still won't confess?

Look at this.

He still won't come clean.

Oh my god. I hope she makes it.

The package you mentioned...

This is it.

That's him!

That bastard...

He brought this.

- Get rid of it! - Huh?!

Now!

Dammit.

Are you okay?

I'm fine.

What was that?

Sorry, it's all my fault...

He acted strange.

He talked to me in Korean at first.

Hello.

Can you give this to detective Niide?

Can you give this to a detective called "Niide"?

Korean?

Yes.

Sorry, I'll call you later.

Please... Just confess!

You okay?

It's my asthma... I have an inhaler in my bag...

This bag?

No.

Confess your crime, Benz Wang, or your daughter dies.

Call a press conference.

Mr. Wang is ready to begin the press conference.

Please come in.

We've been called inside. Benz Wang may be about to confess.

They said he's going to make a confession.

Then your loved one's going to be safe.

Yeah. Thanks.

BENZ TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE

Really?

What's the situation, sir?

What can you tell us?

Have you been in contact with your daughter?

What can you tell us? Answer, please!

Is it true that your daughter was kidnapped?

I swear by the gods of heaven and earth, and by my beloved daughter.

What I am about to tell the citizens of Thailand

and the whole world is the truth.

THE TIME LIMIT IS TEN DAYS.

THE GAME WILL END IF A PLAYER COMPLETES THE ASSIGNED MISSION.

ONLY ONE SHALL PREVAIL...

ONLY ONE SHALL SURVIVE...

I, Benz Wang...

have no ties to any drug syndicate or similar organization!

Goddamn it!

Even if it means

losing my beloved daughter, I cannot lie to the people.

Nor can I ever bend to cowardly blackmail.

Hansa... My beloved daughter...

Please forgive your fool of a father.

Gimme a goddamn break!

This is bad. SWAT team, standby.

Yes sir!

What should I do?

AUM THANAWAT

Officer! It’s me, Aum, the player in Bangkok. I-I’m...

I know, you’re barricaded in there, right?

Yes, but the police could break in any second.

You’re the only person I can count on...

Please tell me what should I do?

- Let's move in! Everyone ready? - Ready!

Aum,

you’ve got to surrender.

No... If I give up now, Dao will be killed.

At this rate, your hostage... is going to die.

You will have killed her.

Killed that innocent girl.

Dao’s innocent, too!

Dao didn’t do anything wrong...

That’s right.

People who did nothing wrong were taken hostage for this game.

I want to save those innocent people.

If I surrender, I’ll be disqualified for failing,

and not completing my mission, and Dao will...

But she will be saved.

She’s the only one you can save!

Please...

Please save her...

Officer...

was there no other way?

MAKE YOUR WISH COME TRUE

Ever wanted something so much that you'd try one of these?

I might have.

What was it? Can't you tell me?

That'd be giving it away.

Two of these, please.

What did you wish for, Dao?

Nothing.

But if we both wear these,

your wish will come true sooner, don't you think?

You're right. It came true right away.

Pretty impressive, right?

Are you sure about this?

As long as you're happy.

Only you truly love me.

I'm sorry.

Listen, everyone!

Someone is about to be killed!

Her name is Dao! Please save her!

AUM THANAWAT HAS BEEN DISQUALIFIED.

Breaking news.

The woman who took a student hostage at a Bangkok university

has been taken into police custody.

The hostage is confirmed to be unharmed.

Officer...

was there no other way?

Put your anger aside. Show your kindness...

Kindness that shields the weak.

That's the right thing to do.

Wait for me...

I saw the news from Bangkok. What’s your mission?

To capture the mastermind.

Mine is to commit murder.

What do you plan to do?

Complete my mission to save my daughter.

Please don't be hasty.

I will capture the mastermind. Then I will rescue your daughter, too.

Don’t interfere...

I will complete my mission and save Rian by any means possible.

With this doctor's daughter...

He talked to me in Korean at first.

Korea... Seoul...

I will solve this case and save everyone mixed up in it. Including you.
