[James] Lord, I know You have led me here

though the path ahead is a little unclear.

Help me surrender fully to Your will.

Open the doors that lead me to it

and close those from the past that draw me away.

Holy Spirit, give me wisdom to recognize Your guidance,

and the strength and courage to follow where You lead.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

[James] So thank you for sharing your Sunday with us.

Now go forth into the world to love and to serve Jesus.

Thank you.

[Aunt Amy] Amen.

[Others] Amen.

[indistinct chattering]

Always nice to have a good cup of joe before we go.

Love and serve.

Doesn't hurt to have a cookie, either.

[Jed chuckles]

Um, Jed Gorwood, by the way.

I'm a hand over at the Newman Ranch.

I know who you are.

Our family keeps pretty close tabs

on everything going on over there.

Right.

Willis.

But I've no doubt you already knew that, too.

I did indeed.

Um, you all doing some herd expansion, is that right?

That we are.

See, you're as informed on us as we are on you.

So you heading over to that auction in Springfield?

Heard they got some pedigree cows coming up.

[Jed] Our quota's filled otherwise we'd be up there

bidding on them ourselves.

We're working out the timing on our expansion.

Well, they say patience is a virtue,

so you must have more than I do.

Jed, I'm sure you know I don't.

[James] Jed.

Pastor.

It's always good to see you. Thank you for coming.

Yeah, of course. Beautiful sermon, as always.

Thank you.

I thought it would resonate with us ranchers.

Yeah.

You know, I was just having a conversation with your dad

about an auction up in Springfield.

Some pretty nice heifers coming up for bid.

Well, yeah, there's still a lot of red tape

that we got to navigate before we can actually bid,

but, yes.

Well, we all got to follow the rules around here, huh.

Of course we do.

Yeah, right.

Well, I guess I better get back to my side of the fence, huh?

Thank you for the words and for the coffee.

Absolutely. Have a wonderful day.

Yeah, you too.

What?

Just thinking about you and Jed, you know.

You deserve that, Aunt Amy.

Mhm. Well, it's too complicated.

It doesn't have to be.

Says the woman who's stuck between a great guy

and the medical clinic.

Point taken.

I really really like Jed's company.

It's just Jackson I don't trust. I know him too well.

If Jed and I are to, I don't know,

have a friendship or whatever,

Jackson's going to find a way to make it benefit him.

And also,

I am sure your father might have some thoughts on the matter.

Because Jed works for the Newmans.

Uh huh. A little too fence line adjacent.

It's a shame.

It is.

[indistinct chattering]

Well, fancy meeting you here.

Good morning, Charlene. Good to see you too.

Did you enjoy the service?

Oh, just lovely.

I tried to get Jackson to come, but you know what they say,

you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them pray.

Is that what they say?

This all for the food pantry?

Sure is.

All right, well, I'm going shopping tomorrow.

I'll pick up a few items for you.

Oh, Charlene, that is so sweet of you, thank you.

You know, you really are becoming a part of this little

Crossroad Springs community.

Only for a short while, I'm afraid.

We're here for the summer,

but I want to contribute as much as I can while I'm here.

Well, you are welcome for as long as we can have you.

But I will warn you,

once you've had a taste of this place, it is hard to leave.

Well, I will take your word for it,

but I'm a Houston girl at heart.

If you say so.

-I'll see you tomorrow. -All right.

[Janet] And then Eric came over and said that

the sweet older couple only looked at each other

as they talked.

They were totally adorable.

[Aunt Amy chuckles]

Isn't that amazing?

I mean, after all those years together?

Yeah, it is.

[Janet] Eric seemed to really admire them.

Well, maybe that'll be you two one day.

Uh, yeah. We're not even a couple.

Oh, right.

Hey, what's the passcode or whatever

for the computer internet again?

Uh, Red Oak 56 with a capital R.

Red...

[Janet] What are you working on, Dad?

Yeah, Willis, what are you working on?

Didn't know your cowboy mitts knew their way

around a computer.

I'm just looking something up. Mind your own beeswax.

[Janet and Aunt Amy chuckle]

Well, couple or no couple, Eric is always welcome

for a home cooked meal if he's hungry.

Oh, he knows. If he wasn't working

he'd be here eating his weight in biscuits again.

Well, I'll send some with you to work tomorrow.

He can heat them up in the break room.

Okay. It's Red Oak five six, right?

It's not working.

It should connect automatically.

Oh, there.

Live cattle auction.

Yep.

[Janet] Are you bidding?

Uh, not yet, but that's exactly what I intend to do.

Excuse me.

You shouldn't be bidding on any cattle right now, Willis.

We don't have a plan in place,

and we don't have a permit in hand.

Well, the permit's coming,

and these are pedigreed heifers going cheap.

What am I supposed to do?

I don't care if they're giving them away for free.

You need to talk to your family members first.

Well, what do you think I'm doing right now?

Agistment.

It's where we buy the cattle now to expand the herd.

And then we rent land on someone else's ranch

temporarily until the permit comes in.

How long do we rent it for?

Well, it shouldn't be longer than a week.

Tucker's got the extra land,

but he doesn't want to part with it for too long.

I think he's concerned with the take half, leave half rule.

What does that mean?

What, the take half, leave half?

It's where you let the cattle graze on half the land, and then

the other half you let keep growing until it goes to seed.

Each season you can swap it. It keeps a healthy pasture.

So in our case, the cattle that we're going to buy to expand

Tucker's going to let us graze on that land

that he's letting go to seed.

We just better figure it out fast because I don't think

he's a fan of the agreement.

It sounds like your dad made a risky deal.

[Lewis' phone buzzes]

Well, I'll breathe a whole lot easier

when this is all behind us

and our cattle are back on Hamilton soil.

[reading text] Just showing you a little something

you're missing. Love you.

Wow. Thomas has gotten so big.

Yeah.

I love working and learning everything you teach me,

so it's not that I'm ungrateful, believe me.

Just sometimes I feel like I'm missing out

on a lot of moments with Thomas.

Yeah, I can imagine.

Leaving each day going to work,

even though it's because you want to provide for them.

Yeah, it seems like there's never enough time to see them.

Thomas is just waking up when I leave in the morning,

and he's usually asleep by the time I get home.

Listen, if you need to leave early so you can spend time

with your family we'd understand.

Thank you, but it's, it's tough.

The sense of purpose that this place gives me is,

it's made me a better father.

I just wish there was more hours in the day.

Yeah, I get that. It's a juggling act, for sure.

Some jobs you can clock out of five and then you're done.

Others follow you around no matter where you go.

Like being a father.

Exactly.

No matter what you do, Lewis, or wherever you go,

you're always going to be Thomas's dad.

And even when we're not in church, you're still our pastor.

Good morning, Daniel.

You're usually out in the fields by now.

It's like my mother always used to say.

Ranch life, been up since the crack of dark.

[they both laugh]

I was just going to grab another coffee.

Oh, no here. Have this one. I can make another.

Well, thank you.

You know, I'm actually starting to become partial

to this city coffee of yours.

Hmm. So it's not all that bad having us here after all.

No, caffeine wise anyway.

And you and your daughter are pretty good.

Jackson did mention you two had words.

Yeah, we did.

You know, I know he's a little rough around the edges,

but he means well, and he's all about family.

I'm sorry if he said something he shouldn't have.

Yeah, he made it pretty clear where I am on that family list.

It's more about what he's not saying.

You know, he just doesn't answer any of my questions

about what he's doing here.

A lot of vague talk about big plans.

This place is a livelihood for a lot of good people.

I'd like to say I'm included in that.

It's easy to see that you've been taking really good care

of this place.

I appreciate you saying that.

[Daniel's phone rings]

Excuse me. I got to take this.

Pastor Price, is it still raining?

Yeah. No, absolutely.

I will be right there.

Oh, you have to excuse me. That was my church calling.

They just need some volunteers right now.

I hope everything's all right.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Yeah, absolutely. Just keep the coffee coming.

[door opens and closes]

Morning.

There you are, sleepyhead.

Here, have this coffee. I can make another one.

Thank you.

I didn't hear you get up this morning.

Well, I got up early and went for a walk.

Oh, I would have come with you.

I wanted to clear my head. I had a few things on my mind.

About what?

Nothing.

It's just,

I think it's time we talk about what the plan is here.

I mean, the ranch seems to be running fine.

What are we doing here?

Honestly, Charlene,

I thought coming here would be a good thing.

You could see where I came from.

Alexis could connect to her roots.

If you don't want to be here, then we can go.

No, no, it's not that I'm not having fun.

It's just, we never really talked about

how long this little vacation was going to last.

I don't know how long we'll be here.

I just have some business to get in order, and that's all.

Okay, Mister mysterious.

Well, I do like it here,

so I will forgive you for bringing me here, for now.

I am going shopping.

Oh, just don't spend too much on stuff we don't need.

Since when are we worried about money?

Alexis, I'm going to be in the car.

I'm going to drop her off at work

and then go do some shopping, pick up a few things

for the house, this and that for the food pantry.

Since we're here, we might as well settle in.

Hey.

There she is.

So we won't make a seven o'clock movie.

And 10 o'clock is a little too late, which leaves eight.

So that leaves us with part five of a movie series

I've never heard of, or a foreign language film

that I've also never heard of.

Oh. Which language?

Well, it starts with le, so I'm guessing French.

I'm only going with the company and the popcorn, so you pick.

I'm going for the same reasons, so...

French.

Hi. The medical clinic at Cedar Rock is shut down.

They're dealing with a water main break.

Oh, no. Hope everyone's okay.

All of their patients are being diverted here.

-When? -Now.

Do we know how many we're expecting?

Twenty have been processed, but we're getting

all of their walk-ins and emergencies,

so who knows how many we'll get.

I hope neither of you have any plans tonight,

because I need everyone to stay on.

Okay. We will clear our caseload here as quickly as possible

so we have room.

Thank you.

So, raincheck on the popcorn.

I hate to admit it,

but he got some great cattle at that auction.

We're still good on the timing, right?

[Tucker] Our arrangement suits me fine

as long as you get them to your land on the day we agree to.

No later.

Yes, sir.

You know, this arrangement puts some risk to me as well.

I can't expand my land if your cows are still here, you know.

I know, I know, my dad and I both know.

This isn't our first choice, but we're grateful, we are.

I will say this though. He did get them at a great price.

Yeah he did.

I kind of wish I was at the auction barn myself.

My dad is full of surprises.

You know, we might even have a couple of ribbon winners

come state fair.

You know, I wasn't going to say nothing,

but I'd love to see the Newmans get a run

for their money this year.

Trust me, my dad wants to see that, too.

I bet. Oh, ah...

-Invoice. -Oh yeah.

-Hundred feet. -Thanks.

-Ah, Tucker. -Yeah.

That's a, that's a pretty substantial penalty

if we go over a week.

A deal's a deal. Didn't your father tell you?

Um...

Well, no, I mean, um...

You know what? It's fine. It's going to be great.

We'll get that permit before then.

I hope so, for your sake, huh?

All right, well, enjoy this.

I got to get back to the barn

and I'll see you at church on Sunday. Yeah?

Yeah. We'll have some good news by then.

God willing.

Donations, anyone?

My goodness. Look at all this.

Well, I was thinking, what is essential?

And hygiene is at the top of my list.

That's a great idea. Here let me grab that.

Thank you.

Oh, and you brought madeleines?

Oh, yes. They are so delicious with afternoon tea.

My club in Houston serves them.

Oh, well, I'm sure our families will love them. Thank you.

Can I get you your usual?

Yes, please. It just feels so good to be helpful.

I mean, I already love shopping, but it brings on a more

positive meaning when you're shopping for people in need.

Right?

I'll tell you, giving out these boxes, I feel like

it's helped me just as much as it's helped the community.

Just feels good to do good, you know?

Yeah, well, next time I'm doing some shopping,

I'll pick up some more items.

And if there's any other way I can help, just give me a shout.

Actually, I don't know if you're much of a gardener,

but we are looking to add more fruits and vegetables

to the boxes.

And Amy Hamilton started to a grow row program.

A grow what program?

Grow a row.

Basically, if everyone grows an extra row in their garden and

donates that produce, we can add more nourishment to the boxes.

Well, the only thing I've ever grown are great nails.

But, um, I'll ask Daniel if we have a food garden at the ranch.

Perfect. There you go.

Oh, thank you.

Oh, I also have a box of gluten free tortillas

and a case of mini pickles still in my car.

Oh, amazing.

Why don't you pull around and I'll meet you out front?

Thanks, Charlene.

[busy chattering]

[Layla] Oh, there you are.

I need you to check on the man in room two

with a possible dislocated shoulder.

He fell off a ladder. Thank you.

The wrong day to be handy. It is chaos in here.

Organized chaos, thank you very much.

Just the way we like it.

I discharged the patient in room five,

so we have an empty exam room.

Okay. That's great.

I just got off the phone with Cedar Rock.

They've redirected a man with a snake bite.

He should be arriving any minute.

Okay, on it. Any idea what kind of snake?

No, they didn't say.

[Eric] That looks like Daniel Newman.

[Layla] Do you know him?

[Eric] I've treated him once or twice.

Daniel.

Janet, hey.

This gentleman was bitten by a snake about an hour ago.

[Janet] Were you with him?

No, Cedar Rock just needed help with the transfers

Hey. Mind if I take a look?

Okay. We'll clean up the wound and administer an antivenom.

Hey, would you mind taking into him to room five

and clean out the wound? Thanks.

All right. We can take it from here.

Yeah, I'm glad to help.

Pastor said EMS was backed up, so.

He was right.

All right.

Everything okay, Mr. Hamilton?

You look out of sorts, if you don't mind me saying.

First off, quit calling me Mr. Hamilton.

You've earned it.

And, yes, I'm definitely out of sorts.

That permit still hasn't come. Should have been here last week.

Well, the permit was approved. Isn't that enough?

Not when the inspectors come through.

They can deny a permit in a heartbeat

if they flag a violation.

Well, we haven't violated anything.

We have a contract with Tucker to borrow his land.

Which expires in a week.

Don't tell James or Amy, but I'm starting to worry.

I'm sure everything's going to be fine.

Let's go up and get the truck.

I'll drive us out to Tucker's. We'll check on the girls.

Changing territory can be hard on cattle.

Moving twice in a short period,

that makes it even more challenging.

It's a five bedroom if you count the den, which has a full bath.

[Sarah on phone] How many baths altogether?

Well, four and a half.

[Jackson] All new appliances and a four car garage.

It's definitely appreciated since you bought it and

looks like you've done some upgrades,

but I'd have to take a look at it

before I can give you an appraisal.

[Sarah] When are you thinking of listing it?

Well, I'm not ready to list it quite yet.

I just wanted to get a value of the property.

[Jackson] I'm looking to expand my investments.

Let me take a look around tomorrow, but I think it'd be

a good idea for us to take some photographs.

That way, whenever you are ready to list it,

then we could do it right away.

That's fine.

[Sarah] Okay. I'll take some photographs tomorrow.

As long as your wife is okay with us

having your personal effects in it.

I mean, she has such lovely taste.

I'm sure it's furnished beautifully.

She'll be fine with that.

-Okay. -Okay.

[disconnects]

I think I solved our liquidity problem.

Keep me in the loop on that Goldhart deal, you hear?

Good.

Tina.

[James] I'm so sorry. You just missed Lewis.

He's out taking care of a few things around the ranch.

Actually, I came to speak to you if you had a minute.

Yeah, absolutely. Here.

What's going on?

We're so grateful for all the work Lewis has found

with your family.

You've really taken him under your wing,

and he loves learning about ranching.

It's just I can tell that he's really missing Thomas.

And so I've been trying to send him photos throughout our day,

but I think it's making him miss Thomas more.

Yeah, I've heard that parenting can sometimes feel

really challenging.

Yeah, my mom used to say the days are long,

but the years are short.

Wise words, wise woman.

I know how hard Lewis is working.

It's just...

How do I help support him during the rest of the week?

You know, I think it might come down to carving out a moment

here and a moment there, embracing all of these little

moments to give prayerful thanks together for all the things

that you've been blessed with.

For example, you've been blessed with

a beautiful beautiful family.

It might just come down to a little creativity.

Thanks, James.

Hey there neighbor.

Oh, hey.

Sorry. I rang the doorbell a couple of times,

but there was no answer.

And as it happens,

this is exactly what I wanted to talk to you about.

Gardening.

Maggie mentioned you were doing a growy row thing.

Oh, yeah. Right. It's uh, it's called grow a row.

And there's still room on the sign up list if you want.

I thought I might give it a whirl,

but I have never grown a garden before.

Looks rather tricky.

Well, it's, it's not really that tricky.

You just need soil, water, sunlight.

And God does the rest.

I can walk you through the steps.

Great.

Jackson was mentioning that you two

went to high school together.

Uh, yeah.

Um, I mean, we didn't know each other all that well, though.

That because your families don't get along?

Well, that didn't make it easy.

Um, but no, we weren't in the same circle of friends.

I see. Though it is kind of a small school, right?

Yeah.

Uh, but most of us were busy doing ranch chores, and Jackson,

well, he spent a lot of his time in

the school parking lot with his muscle car.

That does sound like him.

Mhm.

Okay. Uh, so first things first.

Those need to be watered.

Uh, okay.

-Oh, heavy. -Yeah.

You know, I wasn't all that happy about coming here, but,

this little place is really growing on me.

Yeah, well, Crossroad Springs will do that.

A lot of us have deep roots and long memories.

And just call if you need anything at all.

Daniel. Still here?

Back again. Yes.

Mr. Brown had a problem with his oxygen tank, so

once they work that out, I'll take him back again.

Well, I didn't realize how connected you were

to Cedar Rock.

Yeah. My parents worshipped there when I was a kid,

so I still sit in the same row.

Nice.

Janet, the patient in seven is asking for you.

On it.

Thanks again.

[Jackson on phone] Four point five!

No, we're going to have to dial that way up.

Look, we're 20 minutes outside of downtown Houston.

With that location alone, the house is worth five.

Dad. Dad!

Lucky's trailer just got here.

That's great!

I mean, it took an extra day because of a road closure,

but the driver said that Lucky was calm the whole time

and that he was such a good horse.

That doesn't surprise me in the least.

And it sure makes me happy to see you so happy, my darling.

Dad, I'm so happy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you

for bringing Lucky here.

I'm going to go put on my riding gear in case he wants to go out.

You know, I thought he might want a little bit of time

to settle, but I think he may just need some exercise.

I'm sure with your keen horse sense,

you know exactly what to do.

Thanks, Dad. Okay, I'm going to go.

[phone dialing]

Hey.

[Jackson on phone] Yeah, we got cut off.

Listen, if I do decide to sell, I'm not selling for anything

less than five million with a fast close.

And may I remind you that whomever I go with as my agent

on this is the one that gives a hearty appraisal.

If it's you, I'm happy for it.

But I can certainly find someone else if I need to.

[Sarah] I will take another look.

You do that.

You can live right here.

I think you'll really enjoy this neighborhood right over here.

There.

Enjoy your tiny homes.

Mom, are you okay?

Yeah. Why?

You're on the ground.

Did you fall or lose your keys or something?

No, I'm planting seeds for the food pantry.

Ah, you're growing a food pantry.

Yeah.

You already brought over all those pickles and cookies

and not to mention toilet paper.

Okay, well, toilet paper doesn't exactly grow on trees,

now does it?

You know what I mean.

If everyone plants food, then those fruits and vegetables

can go to the food pantry and into the mouths

of those who need them.

Oh, look out. You're turning all Crossroad Springsy.

Oh, it's temporary.

You're literally planting seeds in this place.

Go. Have fun.

Don't let the fresh air hit you on the way out.

[Alexis chuckles]

Keep planting those seeds, Mom.

Get.

Hey, cowboy.

Hmm.

[Tina giggles]

To what do I owe this sweet surprise

of my two favorite people?

Well...

I just thought we all have to eat lunch.

There's no reason why Thomas and I can't eat ours

out here with you.

You always know what I need before I do.

How do you do that?

Wait, let's see if I'm good at predicting.

Um, how do egg salad sandwiches sound

with a side order of tiny fish crackers?

Oh, like a meal fit for a king.

[they both laugh]

There's my boy.

Ah, come here. I am one fortunate man.

Yeah, but we have a lot to be thankful for.

[Alexis] Good job, buddy.

[Alexis] Hey, there you are.

Hey, it's a handsome fella. What's his name?

Lucky. Isn't he just gorgeous?

And he's so smart and sweet.

And when we ride, it's like we're one.

I hear that. It's like when I'm out on the range riding Chance,

he just knows what direction to go.

Yeah, that's it. I'm just so happy he's here now.

I've been dying to show him to you.

Where have you been all day?

Cedar Rock had a water main break at their medical clinic,

so they needed some volunteers.

Ah. I thought you were maybe avoiding my dad.

Oh, I'll never do that.

[Daniel chuckles]

Sure.

In all fairness, he probably needed a break from me, too.

Did he start another fight with you?

Ah, something like that.

He's not the easiest guy to get along with.

Have you ever beat him in Monopoly?

Not a pretty sight.

Dad can get pretty intense when it comes to work stuff.

Like yesterday I heard him on the phone demanding,

I need 5 million with a fast close.

[Alexis] And I know him. He always gets what he wants.

Any idea what he's selling?

No, I don't know.

But what I do know is that he fights for what he wants.

And we're lucky that we're on the side that he's fighting for.

Lucky.

[Alexis laughs]

Hey, you want to go for a ride? See Lucky in action.

You know what, I thank you, but all that back and forth

to Cedar Rock put me behind on my chores.

You sure?

There are a couple fences out there that we want to jump.

Those fences are there for a reason.

Hey, Lucky knows exactly what those fences are meant for.

Okay, well, just be careful, young lady, all right.

All right. And you too.

And with my dad, he can be tough when it comes to business,

and his bite's just as bad as his bark.

See you later.

[Janet] That day felt like it was a week long.

Well, Layla said the broken pipe's been fixed in Cedar Rock,

so everything will be back to our normal workload tomorrow.

Well, luckily I am off tomorrow,

so I'm going to spend the day in front of the television

sleeping through a bunch of movies.

Well, I am back tomorrow and if I must say,

shifts are just never the same without you.

Yeah, I kind of like working with you, too.

Even though sometimes I wish we didn't work together.

Well, I saw a posting out by the silos.

Maybe you could be a foreman there.

A foreman? Oh, you're making me a foreman. I like that.

Well, how about if you worked down at the Office Mart?

You know, I think I might actually be good at that.

[Eric laughs]

In all seriousness,

I think we're exactly where we both should be.

Yeah.

Days like today make me really proud of our calling.

[Janet] Kind of rocked it.

Yeah, everyone did.

Yeah. Even Daniel Newman.

Even Daniel Newman.

That's what I love about this part of the country.

You know, your pastor calls. People need you.

You get in your truck and you show up.

All hands on deck.

Like when the Hanson's barn caught fire

and they lost all their hay.

All the ranchers got together,

donated some of theirs just to keep the herd going.

It is one of the many reasons I feel at home here.

Oh, that's awfully nice to hear.

Nice enough to go grab a bite to eat with?

You know I would, but I am so tired.

My bed is calling to me.

Well...

Good night friend.

[Eric chuckles]

Good night, friend.

[James] Another day, no permit

I can't even give it another thought.

I am putting it in God's hands.

Hey! Put that back.

It's exactly where it is.

Oh, I talked to Michael today.

He wants to come down and visit from Chicago.

-Pastor Michael? -Yeah.

Oh, that's so exciting. I can't believe we've never met.

He said it'll only be for a few days.

He wants to come down and check out the cowboy church,

talk to me about something.

I hope everything's okay with his congregation in Chicago.

Well, I'm looking forward to it.

Hey, Aunt Amy, do you remember Heather?

Yes, I remember Heather. Your ex-fiancee.

You two were together for a long time.

Over a year, yeah.

Well, she called. I didn't answer, but she called.

I don't know, I just feel a certain way about it.

Understandably.

I know how hard that was for you

when you went your separate ways,

but you two didn't seem very compatible.

Yeah. No, you're right.

She wanted the big life, the big marriage, the big house.

And I wanted a pastor's life, which is a little quieter.

Still just the whole thing, it just blindsided me.

I wish I would have seen the sign sooner.

Oh, James, you can't be so hard on yourself.

It is easy to miss things when you're in love.

If I had just slowed down, though, I would have seen it.

But, look where it got you.

Thank you for the reminder.

[Willis on phone] Yes, I know, Tucker,

but we don't have that permit yet.

Hey, I'm sure it's going to be in my hands by...

Yeah. All right.

Yeah, I'll be talking to you.

Hey, Dad. Everything okay?

You know, as much as I hate to admit it,

I am worried that permit won't show up on time.

Or ever.

Well, we've been assured it's on its way.

It's got to be coming.

Just, we have to keep the faith.

Yeah. It's true.

Even with faith as small as a mustard seed,

you can say to this mountain,

Hey mountain, move over there, and it'll move.

Nothing will be impossible for you.

It's going to be okay, Dad.

Thank you, James.

I wish I were as confident as you two, but I'd be lying if

I said I wasn't concerned that I may have just put our family

in a difficult position.

[Jackson's phone rings on counter]

[Charlene] Jackson.

[phone continues to ring]

Sarah, hi, it's Charlene. We haven't spoken in ages.

Probably not since we closed on the house all those years ago.

How are you?

I'm good. Thank you for asking.

I'm just in the rat race still, but luckily, I like rats.

[Charlene laughs]

Can you please tell Jackson that he was right.

Originally, when I did the first appraisal on your house,

I didn't factor in how close you were to downtown Houston.

So I'd say it's worth at least five.

An appraisal on our house?

No, I think there's some mistake.

Oh, um, I, Jackson had said that, um...

I'm sorry. I just assumed that you knew.

No, no, I didn't. But I do now.

Thank you, Sarah. You have a nice day.

[Sarah disconnects]

[footsteps approaching]

[Jackson] Hi, darling.

Alexis out riding again?

We're never going to see her anymore.

Yeah.

She should just move her bed into the barn.

Maybe we should.

After we sell our house in Houston.

Why would you say that?

Because I just got off the phone with our old realtor

who informed me you're having our house appraised?

I'm just getting our worth down on paper, sweetheart.

Investors need to know my whole portfolio, including our house.

Jackson, I feel like you're not telling me something.

No, actually, I feel like you're not telling me anything.

How many times have we asked, what are we doing here?

Hey, I'm being straight with you.

That's just information needed for a refinancing deal

for the business.

Everything will be fine, Charlene.

Well, it had better be.

Sweetheart, everything I do is for you and Alexis.

We'll be back home in Houston soon enough.

I will love and respect you,

but don't think for one minute that I will put up with

you not being truthful with me.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some baby plants to water.
