"The Missing Piece"

(Episode 14)

Want something to drink?

What do you want from me?

If it's just to catch up,

I don't think that's necessary.

If it weren't urgent,

I wouldn't be reaching out.

So?

After what happened to An'an back then,

I barely kept in touch with the family.

Some things I only heard about recently.

What things?

After An'an's incident back then,

Mr. Ji cut ties with our family.

No more contact.

After what your family did,

cutting ties

was already Mr. Ji's mercy.

My family really is a bunch of jerks.

I know.

Mr. Ji used some tactics back then

to get revenge on the Zhou family.

He went after Zhou Corp. relentlessly.

Now Zhou Corp. is on the brink of bankruptcy.

My mom and Zhou Chu

were both ruined by him.

That does sound like something Mr. Ji would do.

And Zhou Chu already had a ton of messes.

Mr. Ji quickly got dirt on him

and sent him to prison.

He deserved it.

Yeah.

But I heard Zhou Chu

is about to get out.

And my mom never lets anything go.

She'll definitely hit back.

You know how ruthless she can be.

So what are you saying?

Are you threatening me?

No, no.

I just want you to warn Mr. Ji.

If he's coming back

he has to be careful.

I let An An down.

I can't even face him.

But...

But I'm scared...

After all they've made it clear

they won't stop until Mr. Ji is dead.

You know

they'll do anything.

And they

are making moves now.

If there's nothing else

I'll get going.

Shen Mo.

I'm sorry.

If what Zhou Yang said is true,

Knowing Mrs. Zhou's temper...

she'll definitely go after Mr. Ji.

She might even go after Ji Ning.

That call Mr. Ji got...

Could it have been about the Zhou family?

Why are you here?

I couldn't get through to you.

So I came straight to find you.

I was busy just now.

What's so urgent?

Where's Ning?

He's upstairs sleeping.

Zhou Yang came to see me today.

What did he come to see you for?

He told me to warn you.

To warn you how dangerous your situation is.

Zhou Chu is out. Did you know?

Do you know who Madam Zhou is?

I know.

Then why did you come back?

Didn't you already shift your focus overseas?

What can they do?

The Zhou Corporation has collapsed.

I know that they've landed a big project and are trying to make a comeback, too.

Of course I have to stop them.

For you.

And for An'an.

And you're here.

I'm afraid they'll hurt you again.

So you want to handle this yourself?

Right?

Some things need to be settled.

The Zhou family hurt the two people I love most.

This can't just be dropped.

What do you plan to do?

Don't worry.

I'll handle it.

So you didn't tell me you were back...

because you didn't want to drag me into it, huh?

If you got hurt again...

What about me?

If I what again?

If I get hurt by the Zhou Family again, right?

I'm not scared.

I am.

I told you.

I've always been here.

I'm scared they'll find out.

If you end up with me,

they'll come after you because of me, and hurt you.

Then we'll

fight side by side.

Dad.

Uncle Shen, you're here.

Sorry, Ji Ning.

Did we wake you up?

It's okay.

I missed you so much.

Are you here to play with me?

Be good, Ji Ning.

Go back to sleep.

What are you two doing?

How about the three of us sleep together?

Let's go.

In a couple days.

I'm going to a banquet.

Huh?

The Zhou family will be there too.

I'm fighting them over a project.

That project is their only way to bounce back.

The Zhou family is on their last legs.

If I can take that project by force,

the Zhou family will never be a threat again.

But...

They'll do anything to get what they want.

Nothing is off limits for them.

So what?

For An'an.

For you.

I want to eat at that restaurant tomorrow.

Okay.

It's just a meal.

Do you really need to dress up that much?

Depends on who I'm eating with.

Not bringing Xiao Ning?

Relax.

Chen's with Xiao Ning.

You spoil Xiao Ning too much.

He just moved to a new place

I'm afraid he won't adjust well.

You spend way too much time on him.

What?

Now you're even jealous of a kid.

Xiao Ning looks so much like Mr. Ji.

Chen.

Ah.

Please take care of Xiao Ning.

Ah.

We're heading out.

Sure thing.

Bye.

After all these years...

Feels like nothing has changed.

And the taste?

Tastes even better.

Bro, you've had too much.

Bro.

Isn't that Mr. Ji and Mr. Shen?

What a coincidence.

Share a table and eat together.

Come here.

We've already finished eating.

About to leave.

Us old friends have finally run into each other. Let's catch up a bit.

How long has it been since we saw each other?

What kind of friends are we?

You're really so heartless

Mr. Ji.

I've never forgotten you after all these years

Mr. Shen probably doesn't know yet.

Thanks to Mr. Ji,

A few years back I was doing way too well.

Back in the entertainment circle

I almost couldn't survive.

Luckily I fought hard enough.

I'm doing even better than before.

Who doesn't know the dirty things you've done?

So what?

Like you're clean?

Check, please.

It's fine.

I got it.

Whoa.

Why did Mr. Shen pay?

Of course.

He supports me now.

And who supports you?

And who are you supporting?

So jealous.

If I'd known, I wouldn't have given up so easily back then.

If I'd kept chasing Mr. Ji,

maybe I'd be the one standing there now.

You wouldn't be able to.

Oh

Mr. Zhao's got a new one again.

A new groom every night.

When I'm done with them,

you can have them.

Hey.

No need.

Not my thing.

You're not leaving tonight.

Come home with me.

You hear me?

Zhao.

I...

I don't care.

You have to go.

Boss Zhao, take care of yourself.

Take care of yourself.

Zhao, slow down.

Zhao.

You've had too much to drink.

Zhao.

No

I'm fine.

You've really had too much.

No, no.

Mr. Ji.

You missed me.

I missed you too.

Hello, Mr. Ji.

You can go.

So you did miss me?

If I'm not mistaken,

back then you sent me away on purpose

to set a trap, right?

Mr. Ji, what are you talking about?

I don't know what you mean.

Admit it or not.

I can't be bothered to argue with you.

Do you know this person?

Yeah, I know him.

So what do you want, Mr. Ji?

Set up a meeting for me.

I've got a project to discuss with him.

What's in it for me?

Back in the day, Mr. Ji was so head over heels for that hick Mo he wouldn't even look at me

Mr. Zhao.

If I tell your sugar daddy

about all your affairs

over the years

what do you think happens to you?

Can you still survive in this industry?

And I...

I happen to know your sugar daddy.

Think it over.

I destroyed you once.

I can do it again.

You.

You've got no proof.

Who'd believe you?

Fine.

Then guess

if I have proof of your affairs.

Just an introduction, right?

Yes.

Then I'll leave it to you, Mr. Zhao.

You're not coming home tonight?

Mm.

There's a business dinner I have to attend.

Business.

Is it the one the Zhou Family will be at too?

Mm.

Do you really have to go?

Everyone knows I'm fighting the Zhou family.

If I skip it just because the Zhou family will be there, wouldn't that make me look like a coward?

Scared?

I'm not scared.

Alright.

Then wait for me at home.

I'll be back soon.

If I don't deal with tThe Zhou Family completely,

how could I be with you and have peace of mind?

I won't let anyone hurt you.

Not even the slightest chance.

Once Mr. Ji makes up his mind

no one can talk him out of it.

And the Zhou family is ruthless.

Going up against them won't be as easy as Mr. Ji says.

Unless...

Mr. Ji.

Ah.

Mr. Ji is back.

Is Mr. Ji coming back to develop his career?

Mr. Ji dares to come back?

With how things went with the Zhou family...

Hey, this is Ji Mingxuan we're talking about.

He's not afraid of the Zhou family at all.

Ah.

Did you know?

Two years ago, Ji Mingxuan's sister...

Oh, we're in for a show.

Ah.

Mr. Ji, why didn't you tell us you were coming?

It's been so long since we last met.

When was the last time again?

It was at the hospital, four years ago.

What a shame, really.

Such a beautiful girl, An'an.

Shut up.

Why so angry, Mr. Ji?

I've had so much to say to you for the past four years, Mr. Ji.

Thanks to you, Mr. Ji,

these four years have been great for me.

Didn't expect you out so soon.

The Zhou family must've pulled a lot of strings.

If you put it that way

I should thank you.

If it weren't for you, Mr. Ji

I wouldn't have known how to deal with

my good-for-nothing brother Zhou Yang.

Oh.

Allow me

to reintroduce myself.

My name is Zhou Chu.

Zhou Group is now mainly run by me.

I know how hard it was for you to get all this.

So you'd better hold all of it

tight in your hands.

Keep your eyes open even in your sleep.

Otherwise you'll end up with nothing

and you'll be that worthless

bastard son again.

What's with you, Young Master Zhou?

Such a scary look.

Scared me to death.

Get lost.

Ji Mingxuan came to see me a couple days ago.

What did he want with you?

Guess.

Cut the crap.

He asked me to introduce him to someone.

And this person.

You know them too.

Seems related to your family's current project.

Did you introduce him?

Of course.

Ji Mingxuan is so handsome.

How could I refuse?

You.

You backstabbing traitor.

Hey.

I'm tipping you off out of friendship.

What's with the attitude?

I didn't even have to tell you.

Ji Mingxuan.

This is going too far.

Mingxuan.

Zhou Chu had too much to drink.

He said some drunken nonsense.

Please bear with him.

Auntie, you flatter me.

You know.

I'm not too fond of that kid either.

But alas.

No one's left in the Zhou family.

That was all Yang's own choice.

Mingxuan.

I practically watched you grow up.

Do you really have to be so ruthless about such things?

About what happened with An'an before,

I understand how you feel.

But...

You just had to stick your foot in our Zhou family project.

What do you mean by that?

Some things can be let go.

Some things can't.

Auntie Zhou.

Don't think no one knows the things you've done.

Why are you here?

Because we're fighting side by side now.

I downloaded an app on our phones.

What app?

A location tracker.

So wherever you are, I can see you.

Of course.

You can see me too.

What?

That scared I'll run off?

Afraid you won't find me.

Stop it.

Come with me.

Mingxuan.

We're not done talking.

Leaving already?

It's fine.

Hello, Mrs. Zhou.

Long time no see.

You are...?

This is Mrs. Ji.

Shen Mo.

Mrs. Zhou doesn't remember me.

But I remember Mrs. Zhou very well.

Does Mrs. Zhou have anything else to discuss with us?

If not,

we'll take our leave.

Our very own the Zhou family

must never be destroyed

by Ji Mingxuan.

Then

destroy him.

Do you know how dangerous that just was?

Mm.

Letting the Zhou family know you and I are back together.

Letting them know you're my weakness.

So what?

They'll find out sooner or later.

You did that on purpose just now, didn't you.

Deliberately walking around in front of the Zhou family.

And even provoking Mrs. Zhou.

Since Mr. Ji figured it out long ago,

why play along with me on purpose?

She really was my nightmare once.

Even just one encounter with her

still makes me

recall the time I was in that room.

But now I'm not afraid anymore.

As long as Mr. Ji is by my side.

I'm not afraid of anything.

If not for Mr. Ji,

I'd have died long ago.

What's left to fear?

I just want to see.

Mrs. Zhou's

panicked face.

With her being so paranoid and ruthless,

she'll definitely think my coming back this time

is to take revenge on her

and that I have dirt on her.

Didn't they want to fight you, Mr. Ji?

Then let's make them desperate first.

I was wrong before.

You haven't stayed the same at all.

You've changed a lot.

It's from you, Mr. Ji

that I've learned so much.

Mr. Ji.

I won't let anyone hurt you.

Okay

I got it

I'll be right there.

What happened?

Oh.

It's nothing.

Just a small thing at work.

I might be back a bit late.

I'll wait for you.

For now.

Don't leave the villa.

Just in case.

Okay.

Mm.

Uncle Shen.

Mm.

Why has Daddy been so busy lately?

He doesn't even have time to play with me.

Don't worry.

Daddy won't be busy for long.

Then the three of us can play together, okay?

Mm.

My orange juice is ready.

Hey.

Boss.

Where'd you go?

Feels like I haven't seen you in forever

I'll be at the shop in a couple days.

Just hold down the fort.

Come on.

Two days of hard work

and you're slacking off again.

What a world!

Me, a boss

getting bossed around by my staff all day.

Hehe.

Oh right.

Boss.

Are you free right now?

There's a fire inspection at the shop soon.

But I forgot

I'm going on a date with my boyfriend to see a show.

Tickets were so hard to get.

Can you come handle it for me?

Right now?

Yeah.

Please

I'm begging you.

Fine.

Go ahead

I'm driving over now.

You're the best boss in the world.

Hmph.

Chen.

Ah

I'm heading out for a bit.

Be back soon.

Take good care of Ji Ning.

And make sure he doesn't eat sweets.

Mm.

Got it.

Bye, Uncle Shen.

Bye-bye.

Chen.

What's wrong?

Mr. Shen went out this evening.

He said he'd be back soon.

But he still isn't back.

Ji Ning is crying and screaming for Uncle Shen.

I just called Mr. Shen but couldn't get through.

Can you try reaching him?

Don't be in trouble.

Don't be in trouble.

Nothing's gonna go wrong here, right?

Don't be scared.

No cameras for miles around.

Nobody ever comes here.

Absolutely foolproof.

Zhou Chu.

I have to admit,

even though some wild woman gave birth to you.

you have more of the Zhou Family than my own son.

I still have a lot to learn from you.

Where'd all that swagger go?

I really want to see.

wat kind of spell you have,

that has Yang and Ji Mingxuan head over heels.

All you people know how to do is use these dirty tricks.

I can't take down Ji Mingxuan.

But I can sure take you down.

Still running your mouth when you're about to die.

Let him cool off.

Ready to behave now?

You got a death wish.

What are you standing there for?

Go after them.

Stop!

Don't run!

Don't run!

You're quite the runner.

That's enough.

Don't kill him.

Time for business.

Next, let's see

how much you're worth to Ji Mingxuan.

Use his phone to call Ji Mingxuan.

Mr. Ji.

I've ordered everyone to find Mr. Shen.

The police have started moving too

[Shen Mo]
