=Recruit A General to lead the Troops=

=Episode 24=

Your Majesty.

I don't want to stay in the capital.

What do you mean?

I don't want to be an official anymore.

I just want to stay at Qingfeng Stronghold.

I'll give Chen Xinrou a grand wedding

and live a worry-free life with my family.

That would be enough for me.

Wouldn't it be better to stay by my side?

Li Aotian committed treason.

That crime means the annihilation of the whole clan.

Even if I capture him,

do you think the ministers would trust me to keep you close?

It's too late.

What do you mean?

By His Majesty's order,

these three women are guilty of treason.

Execute them on the spot.

You've got this all planned out all along.

If you'd been good and stayed by my side,

I could have given you glory and wealth.

But since you insist on leaving,

you can't blame me for being merciless.

Truth be told,

I've already sent my men to capture Chen Xinrou and the others.

You make me look like a fool!

You can't blame me for this.

Now you're the General God of War.

You're powerful enough to make me feel threatened.

How could I possibly keep you?

Did you know why I've always called you Little Rock?

How impressive of you, Brother Li.

Your Highness.

You're the future emperor,

so you should stop calling me brother.

But I'll always be the rock in your hand.

I'll strike

wherever you want me to.

Great! Let's have another round.

But now,

this rock has grown bigger

and bigger.

I fear some day I'll lift it up

only to crush my own foot!

Listen here.

There are no brothers in the imperial family.

There's only power.

To secure my throne,

I can only sacrifice your clan.

Chengyu.

You still don't get it.

Serving an emperor is like being with a tiger.

When you hold the highest position,

there's no way to live in peace.

Li Aotian was right.

The higher the power,

the more sacrifices it demands.

Both Li Aotian and I bear the Li name.

It makes sense that you want to get rid of me.

But what wrong did we commit?

I put my heart into finding you evidence.

I treated you as my brother.

What did you see me as?

Fine.

You can have my life.

Will you let them live instead?

Please keep your word.

I'll drink the poison.

You must guarantee their safety.

Permission granted.

(From now on,)

(the General God of War, Li Chengyu,)

(shall cease to exist.)

(You once saved my life.)

(Well,)

(we're brothers.)

(I saved your life, yet you threw me in prison.)

How low of you!

You'll secretly infiltrate Qingfeng Stronghold.

Chen Xinrou

is ferocious and merciless.

It's you.

Chen Xinrou.

What if I said I liked you?

Stay.

Can I trust you?

Yes.

(Chen Xinrou.)

(Goodbye.)

(Thirty years later)

Back then, during the court rebellion,

the General God of War, Li Chengyu, risked his life

to uncover evidence of treason and uphold justice,

perishing together with Li Aotian.

General Li dedicated his life to the nation and the people.

His military achievements were unmatched, making him an eternal legend.

(Thirty years have passed.)

(The Qingfeng Stronghold he once stayed in is now Qingfeng Manor.)

(It's thriving)

(under the management of two ladies.)

(Tomb of Li Chengyu)

(Tomb of Li Chengyu)

(Tomb of Li Chengyu)

It's time to wake up

from this dream of glory.

Yes, it's time to wake up from it.

This patient had alcohol during his bath,

causing alcohol poisoning.

Our latest medical equipment

can stimulate his brain nerves

to speed up recovery.

The woman next door, Ms. Chen, was poisoned by mushrooms.

They share one machine.

Both of them

still haven't come round.

If this goes on,

it'll get dangerous.

Wait, you're awake.

Where am I?

You're in hospital.

Do you remember what happened?

Where's the patient here?

She's gone.

I know you've been dutiful.

I was being inconsiderate then.

You've worked hard.

So have you.

It hasn't been easy for either of us.
