=Recruit A General to lead the Troops=

=Episode 9=

Truly worthy of being Little Stone.

Good.

Already found the solid evidence so quickly.

I should immediately dispatch troops to suppress the bandits.

But this matter is of great importance.

Only I know that Little Stone

is not in prison.

Who should I send

to ensure everything goes flawlessly?

Your Majesty,

in recent days,

Minister Li Aotian

has knelt daily before the hall, pleading for the general.

Bound by flesh and blood,

closest kin.

Although Li Aotian is naturally weak and sickly,

he still comes every day to plead.

Unlike the Chancellor's followers,

who want the Li family gone or avoid them.

It shows that Li Aotian is upright and principled.

He can be trusted.

Good.

Summon Li Aotian to the audience.

I will secretly send him with troops

to assist Li Chengyu in taking Qingfeng Stronghold.

Handle them gently.

These are wine jars.

Treat them as you would your own lady.

Handle them gently.

Ahhh!

General.

General, I'm really sorry.

I truly appreciate you delivering the wine in person.

I heard something happened at Qingfeng Stronghold a few days ago.

Are you all right, General?

You had me deliver the wine

just to see if I was all right.

If I weren't, how could I deliver the wine to you?

Yes. You are right, General.

I was reckless.

Please forgive me, General.

Stop calling me "General" all the time.

Afraid they won't know my identity?

Ah, right.

Young master.

Steward.

Steward!

Come!

Hurry, come!

Here he comes.

The previous steward was very disobedient.

I already broke his leg and kicked him out of the mansion.

This is the new steward I hired.

From now on, young master's goods

will be handled by him.

Young master's affairs must be well taken care of.

Must be well taken care of.

Alright, get busy.

Alright.

Gently.

This is 60 taels and eight qian.

Please count.

Also, this is a tip from our shopkeeper.

Keep it safe.

(At the Matchmaker Temple)

All poisoned.

I knew these women

are no match for me.

Go, call a few people.

We'll collect the bodies.

Xinrou,

I've already spread the news about the poisoning.

Absolutely natural.

The people of Shihou Stronghold will surely believe it.

Mm.

Once Liu Pitang enters Qingfeng Stronghold,

we'll make sure he never returns.

Mm.

Half of Qingfeng Stronghold's sisters died because of Shihou Stronghold.

They must pay for this blood debt in full.

Boss. You forgot, there's still a master in Qingfeng Stronghold

hasn't shown up yet.

Oh.

Right.

Also, there's a hidden coward still not showing himself.

Anyway, these women have all wilted.

I refuse to believe that Shihou Stronghold, with all its people,

cannot find even one who can handle the hidden coward.

Go, gather people.

Recover lost territory!

Flatten Qingfeng Stronghold!

Where is Li Chengyu?

(I wanted to call him here,)

(but Cold Tiger said he was gone since morning.)

(Who's pretending to be spooky?)

Chengyu,

big brother finally see you.

Big brother?

What's wrong with you?

How come you don't even recognize me?

I am your real brother,

Li Aotian.

(So I actually have a big brother.)

Ah.

I've been under too much work pressure recently.

I remember now.

Chengyu, this is...

Do you like it? It's for you.

I am a civil official.

It's useless for me.

Seeing you safe makes me relieved.

I knew you wouldn't rebel.

(Ah.)

(How can General Li Chengyu)

(has such a frail brother?)

Even if you have a secret mission,

you can't hide it from me.

Why did you come all of a sudden?

Chengyu, our people are already spread throughout the city.

I disguised myself as a steward hiding in the winery.

I wrote you letters in the name of Mr. Qian

just to lure you here.

Guard.

Your Excellency!

The rebel letters are solid evidence.

The emperor has ordered,

for you to lead troops to Qingfeng Stronghold.

Capture Chen Xinrou.

No.

Impossible!

Charge!

Stop!

Today, I am in good mood.

Search thoroughly.

Search carefully.

Whoever searches the most,

I'll reward the most!

Good!

Search!

Leader.

Liu Pitang

already brought everyone to Qingfeng Stronghold.

(Why hasn't Li Chengyu returned?)

(Has something happened?)

Good.

Tell all the sisters

to be on high alert.

This...

Your arrival is too sudden.

I'm not ready yet.

You watch tens of thousands in battle without blinking,

so what preparation do you need for a small Qingfeng Stronghold?

I feel anxious for you.

Finish early,

return to the capital early to report.

Restoring your reputation is important.

But I...

It's getting late.

You must depart quickly.

As for me, due to my health,

I will stay here and wait for your triumphant return.

I...

Yes!

Wait.

With so many of us,

we'll surely alert them.

I know Qingfeng Stronghold well.

I'll scout ahead first,

you wait here for my news.

Yes.

Don't follow me.

Boss.

We've been ambushed.

Brother!

Brother!

Boss, there's an ambush!

Boss.

Brother!

Boss.

How could this happen?

Boss.

We've been ambushed.

Fatty!

Fatty!

I've been ambushed!

Where are my men?

Where are my men?

(Why is there no one in the fort?)

Li Chengyu.

I'll kill you.

Ah, I...

General, what's wrong?

As expected of a general.

In such a short time, a single person has killed so many bandits.

Isn't there still one left?

Capture him for me.

Yes.

Go!

Don't move.

Sir, here you go.

Eat this.

Move faster.

Where did you go?

I thought something happened to you.

They've left.

I went to deliver wine to Mr. Qian.

I heard people from Shihou Stronghold have arrived.

(Qingfeng Stronghold) Hurry!

Sir, he's also a bandit.

Why don't you catch him?

Do you even know who he is?

Sir, ignore his nonsense. Take him back and interrogate properly.

Use all 18 tortures.

Yes.

You little pretty boy.

You'll meet a miserable end.

You little pretty boy!

General.

Why are you only catching men?

Wasn't Qingfeng Stronghold supposed to be a women's stronghold?

Information is outdated, huh?

Qingfeng Stronghold isn't what you think it is,

a bandit fort dominated by women.

But Minister Li said...

What does he know? Has he ever been here personally?

Have you been here personally?

You've been here, haven't you?

I saw it with my own eyes.

These men are the main force of Qingfeng Stronghold.

The rumors about women

were meant to trick you into becoming slaves and soldiers.

Now that you've captured them,

it's already a great achievement.

Take them back and claim your merit.

But Minister Li said

we must capture Chen Xinrou alive.

Who's the general here? Will you obey the orders?

If you don't, and something goes wrong, how many heads will you answer with?

I dare not. Only the general's orders are to be followed.

Alright then.

Take them back.

I'll personally handle Chen Xinrou.

Yes.

Let's go.

Chengyu,

why did you come alone?

You didn't catch Chen Xinrou?

Chen Xinrou can't be caught.

Why?

I suspect the evidence is flawed.

What's wrong with it?

Not clear yet.

But think about it,

if this evidence is indeed flawed,

and we capture her,

it would be like making the Emperor misunderstand the Chancellor.

Look, I'm a military man.

I fight on the battlefield every day.

I'm not afraid,

but you're a civil official.

You bow to the Chancellor day in and day out.

It wouldn't look good if faces were torn apart.

How could it?

If the truth is found,

I'll personally go apologize.

But this thorn is already deeply lodged in the Chancellor's heart.

The Li family will be criticized.

What will the Emperor think?

We would have falsely accused the Chancellor for no reason.

Who takes the hit?

The Emperor's face,

or ours?

This...

Look,

today wasn't entirely fruitless.

We did catch that man, right?

He's also a leader.

You'll take him back for secret interrogation.

I'll stay at Qingfeng Stronghold to continue investigating.

Once I find clues,

I'll report to the Emperor.

(Looks like he's convinced.)

But capturing Chen Xinrou is the Emperor's order.

Chengyu, this isn't your nature.

You resist in every way,

are there any hidden reasons?

There definitely aren't.

I'm just afraid the Emperor will misunderstand.

Do you really think

the Emperor wants the truth about the rebellion?

As long as it's the Chancellor,

the truth doesn't matter.
