Hello, I'm Sam.
It's lovely being on a show that people continue to enjoy watching, and it's
even lovelier when you write to say so. So I thought we might go through a few
letters.
Here we go.
Dear Sam, I'm writing to say how much I've enjoyed watching your performance
in All Creatures Great and Small. Siegfried Farnan is my favourite
character.
woman of taste and intelligence, and I always look forward to scenes he's in.
In the books, I felt the character's eccentricity somewhat dominated his
personality, so I'm really enjoying seeing glimpses of vulnerability and
tenderness you bring to emotional scenes.
One of my favourite examples is the late-night conversation between
Siegfried and James before he leaves to start pilot training.
There's nothing I can say to James when he's about to go to war, but, of course,
I've been there before and he hasn't, so I can't make him scared or doubtful.
I just have to love him quietly.
I also love the impeccable suits you wear in the show.
Do you have a particular suit or accessory that reliably makes you feel
as if you've stepped into Siegfried Vaughan's shoes as soon as you wear it?
Thank you for bringing me a lot of viewing pleasure. Best wishes, Melanie
from Preston.
Thank you, Melanie from Preston. What an excellent letter.
Well, I think it's probably this.
Siegfried's pipe. I'm not allowed to smoke very much because people don't
like it, but I try and get one or two good pipe-smoking scenes in every
episode.
I hope that answers your question.
hi i'm anna madeley i play mrs hall in all creatures great and small dear anna
i hope this letter finds you happy and well thank you for playing audrey hall
on our screens so beautifully for the last six years it's an absolute pleasure
to watch thank you very much audrey is so dear to me and she is the real heart
of
She keeps everything in working order with her unwavering kindness, wisdom and
patience. I adore the compassion and love that she shows to everyone around
her and it inspires me to do the same.
You're an incredible actress and a kind-hearted, warm and lovely person.
The way your fellow cast speak of you is truly heartwarming.
Well, I pay them to do that.
Thank you again for your continued and stunning portrait of Audrey and for just
being your amazing self too. With love, admiration and best wishes, Becky.
Thank you, Becky.
That's an incredibly kind letter.
Audrey is absolutely hot of Scaled Out and one of the things I really like
about the show is bringing kindness to the fore, bringing friendship and
compassion for people, trying to show that love and compassion to everyone you
meet is...
is one of the things that I think is in the spirit of the show.
So I'm very touched that that's come across to you. That's really wonderful.
We will try and continue to do that.
