TARZAN: The jungle.
Here I was born.
And here my parents died when I was but an infant.
I would have soon perished, too,
had I not been found by a kindly she-ape named Kala,
who adopted me as her own and taught me the ways of the wild.
I learned quickly and grew stronger each day,
and now I share the friendship and trust of all jungle animals.
(ROARS)
The jungle is filled with beauty
and danger.
And lost cities filled with good and evil.
(HISSES)
This is my domain and { protect those who come here,
for I am Tarzan, Lord of the jungle.
(YELLING JUNGLE CRY)
Well, my friends, what do you think of that?
(TRUMPETS)
Usha, the wind, tells me we are to have a very dry year.
We must plant food if we are not to go hungry when the dry season comes.
You understand, Nkima?
Now, Tantor, watch.
Now, big fellow, you try.
(TRUMPETS)
{(LAUGHING) No, no, Tantor.
Gently, gently.
(LAUGHING)
Well done, Tantor.
(RUMBLING)
(GROWLS)
(GIBBERING)
Easy, Nkima.
The great mountain of ice is about to erupt.
Come, little friend.
We must get the animals to safety.
(YELLS JUNGLE CRY)
(GIBBERING)
(RUMBLING CONTINUES)
I tell you, Norcross, we'd better hightail it out of here!
These infernal rumblings are about to drive the animals into a frenzy.
Calm yourself, Phelps. Unless I am mistaken,
we are about to witness the fulfillment of a legend.
-What are you talking about? -You know the story.
We've heard it many times since we started trapping animals in this area.
Glacor.
You don't mean that ice creature nonsense?
Nonsense, eh? Take a look.
PHELPS: Holy Toledo!
It can't be.
Correct, my dear Phelps, it can't be but it is.
(YELLING JUNGLE CRY)
Mangani! Sheetal Numa!
TARZAN: Pacco! Gom, gom! Wappi!
Tantor! Tongani! Gom, gom!
Kreeg-ah!
(GIBBERING)
Good Lord! Come on! Let's get away from that nightmare!
Nightmare, indeed!
You fool, don't you realize that that "nightmare,"
as you call it, can make us both rich?
Rich?
Do not have fear, Nkima.
(GIBBERING)
According to legend, Glacor means to harm no one.
We must help him, Nkima.
For all his great size, he is like a newborn cub.
PHELPS: What are you doing, Norcross?
It took us a week to track down that young lion.
We're through with the nickel-and-dime stuff, Phelps!
-We're going to bag that ice creature. -Now you're talking my language.
Not with that, you clod!
We're going to capture him alive.
Alive?
You're outta your skull, Norcross!
How are you and I supposed to trap that giant?
With a real big butterfly net, maybe, huh?
That will do, Phelps.
Where are you going?
To the coast to get men and equipment.
-You'll have to stay here. -Stay here?
With that walking mountain wandering around out there? Not me.
For once in your life, use your head, Phelps.
One of us has to keep track of the creature.
(ENGINE STARTS)Stay in touch with me by radio. I'll see you in a few days!
Come back here! Norcross!
(EXCLAIMS)
(FOOTSTEPS RUMBLE)
(TRUMPETS)
(SQUAWKING)
We've got to calm our friends, Nkima.
(YELLS JUNGLE CRY)
Dando! Dando!
TARZAN: Numa! Dando!
(TARZAN YELLS JUNGLE CRY)
Glacor! Yo!
Glacor! Yo!
Glacor! Yo!
We are your friends!
I am Tarzan.
This is Nkima.
We are your friends.
Friends.
(LAUGHS)
Tarzan. Curse the luck.
Norcross calling Phelps.
Norcross calling Phelps. Come in, Phelps. What's happening with our big friend?
Norcross, we got problems.
I think we'd better scrub this mission right now.
-What are you talking about? -PHELPS: Tarzan. That's what.
Tarzan? What's he got to do with this?
PHELPS: Well, from where I'm standing,
it looks like Tarzan has the creature eating out of his hand!
(GIBBERING)
So, Tarzan has control of the creature, eh? Interesting.
Listen, Phelps. If we snare Tarzan
the creature would probably come after him, wouldn't he?
Maybe, but how are we gonna trap Tarzan? You might as well try to grab the wind!
Just shut up and do exactly as I tell you.
(LAUGHING)
Nkima! Whuff, argo!
(PHELPS LAUGHING)
(LAUGHING CONTINUES)
Hey, "Lord of the jungle,” I sure put one over on you this time!
(PHELPS LAUGHING)
Phelps. Where's your thieving partner Norcross?
He's making plans, big plans!
I told you two to leave the jungle.
You aren't in any position to order anybody around, jungle man.
What are you going to do?
Oh. You'd like me to spill the beans, wouldn't you?
Oh, no. You can just sweat this one out.
(CHITTERING)
(GIBBERING)
Get help, bring Tantor!
Calling Norcross. Come in, Norcross.
Norcross here.
-What is it, Phelps? - I got him. I got him!
PHELPS: Tarzan fell for the smoke trap!
Great work. How is our big friend?
Well, let's see. No problem. The monster's looking for his playmate.
(PHELPS LAUGHING)
NORCROSS: Fine!
(TRUMPETS)
PHELPS: Uh, when are you getting back here?
NORCROSS: I'm making final arrangements now.
I'll be leaving within the hour.
We'll be there very shortly.
Take your time. I got things all wrapped up here on my end.
And you're sure that Tarzan is out of action?
Listen, when yours truly does a job, he does it right.
(TRUMPETS)
(YELLS)
Hello, Phelps? Hello! Hello!
Tantor! Yuto, den!
(TRUMPETS)
(GIBBERING)
(YELLING JUNGLE CRY)
(PHELPS EXCLAIMS)
Let me go, let me down! Let me down, ya wild man!
Very well, if you insist.
-No. No! -I wish you'd make up your mind.
Calling Smiley and Sid. Smiley and Sid, come in.
SMILEY: Smiley here.
-NORCROSS: Are you boys ready? -Are you kidding?
When it comes to flying, we're always ready.
-You're sure you can perform the stunt? -Are you kidding?
Sid and I have performed that rope trick in every country of the world.
Okay, stand by. You'll be hearing from me.
Hey, come on.
(STUTTERS) You can't leave me up here.
TARZAN: You can leave now.
All you have to do is swing down, like this.
(YELLS)
(SHUDDERS)
(GIBBERING)
Men come. They want to take you away. Nkima.
Follow us, Glacor.
(YELLING JUNGLE CRY)
Calling Phelps. Calling Phelps. Come in, Phelps.
(STATIC ON RADIO)
-What's the problem? -Something's gone wrong.
Listen. In case we run into Tarzan and that monkey of his,
we've got to have an ace in the hole. So, here's what we'll do...
TARZAN: There they are, Glacor.
Those are the men who want to take you away.
Don't worry, Glacor. We're going to put a stop to them.
You see the great river below?
TARZAN: Let's throw a little cold water on their plans!
(TIRES SCREECH)
Oh, no!
Come on, come on, get this thing out of here before the creature drowns us.
(ENGINE REVVING)
Remember our ace in the hole.
Well, Tarzan, so we meet again, eh?
Unfortunately, yes.
NORCROSS: { suppose if should have known beftfter
than to tangle with you again.
This is the last time I'm going to tell you, Norcross.
Leave the jungle and never come back.
Oh, uh... As you wish, Your Lordship.
Oh, by the way, what have you done with Phelps?
He's safe.
Pity.
Well, we'll just have to take the creature without him.
I don't think you understand me, Norcross. I told you--
You're not in any position to tell me anything, Tarzan.
That is, not while we have your little simian sidekick.
Nkima!
(GIBBERING)
Nkima!
Well, that should take care of both of them for a while.
Now, it's your turn, big fellow.
All right, men, let's get moving!
(SQUEAKS)
Calling Smiley and Sid. Calling Smiley and Sid. Come in.
-Smiley here! -NORCROSS: Time to move out! Over!
SID: Goft you.
It's my only chance.
There he is, Sid! Let's get him!
Hmm. He looks awful strong.
NORCROSS: Don't worry. This rope is super-reinforced!
Even he can't break it.
(GIBBERING)
(GROWLS)
Nice work, men. Now, get him to the ship.
Soon, little friend.
(EXCLAIMS)
Now!
(GIBBERING)
Do not fear, Nkima.
(SHRIEKS)
What is it, Neeta?
(SHRIEKING)
Quickly, we must save Glacor!
NORCROSS: Carefully, carefully. We don't want to damage our prize!
Think of the money I'll coin with this cargo.
Lift anchor!
(SPLASHING)
Stop him! Stop him! Quick!
Help! We're sinking!
(CRASHES)
Fortunately for them, the sea is calm. Norcross and his men will be all right.
(GIBBERING)
Now, Glacor, my friend,
we must figure out a plan to make sure you will never be exploited.
TARZAN: This, Glacor, shall be your new home.
No one but Nkima and I know of your location.
Eternal peace shall be yours.
Friends!
