(Hanguang Gate)

Stop!

(Seventh Prince of Great Yue, Zhao Boqing)

Zhao Boqing.

You killed your father and brothers,

seized the throne by force,

and a cold-blooded, brutal man like you

will never have Heaven's blessing.

You

are unworthy to rule Great Yue!

The dead

don't get to decide who rules.

Heaven's will

lies with me.

Kill them!

Hyah!

Hyah!

(Princess's Study Companion, He Xiaoyuan)

Hyah!

Someone's rescuing the Crown Prince!

After them!

Hurry!

Hyah!

He Xiaoyuan.

You again!

Hyah!

Tingting.

(Crown Prince, Zhao Junyao) Where's my Tingting?

He Xiaoyuan.

Where's my Tingting?

Your Highness,

Mu Tingting is dead.

Just hold on a little longer.

We're almost at the palace gate.

Enough.

He Xiaoyuan.

I don't love you.

I'm going to join Tingting.

Whoa!

(Zhao Junyao.)

(I've done everything I could for you.)

(But in the end,)

(Mu Tingting is still the only one you see.)

Wake up!

He Xiaoyuan.

He Xiaoyuan.

Thirty-three lifetimes.

It's been thirty-three lifetimes,

and you still haven't won his heart.

Your stupidity is making me sick.

How do you know about the thirty-three lifetimes?

Were you reborn too?

What else, you fool?

I've been with you through all thirty-three lifetimes.

I've been reborn every time.

(Sixth Lifetime) Long live Your Majesty!

- Long live Your Majesty! - Long live Your Majesty!

I know.

Careful!

(Sixth Lifetime)

(Seventh Lifetime)

(Eighth Lifetime)

He Xiaoyuan.

(Ninth Lifetime)

What...

What about them?

It's just you and me.

Do you understand?

Your fate and mine are bound together.

As long as either of us

fails to achieve our goal,

we'll keep reliving our lives

from the age of twenty.

My goal

is to ascend the throne.

Your goal

is to win his love.

I succeed in every lifetime.

Every single time

I could take the throne with my eyes closed.

But you?

You've failed thirty-three times.

Are you a pig?

I'm... I'm sorry.

Stop doing things you have to apologize for.

I've figured it out.

You're not allowed to die.

I won't kill him this time.

I'll grant you two a marriage.

You must make him fall in love with you.

Tingting and I

would rather die than obey.

When you're reborn next time, come find me at once.

I'll teach you how to win a man's heart.

Remember that.

Remember it!

=As Promised=

(Adapted from "The Villain's Guide to Love", a story on Zhihu Yanyan)

Yuanyuan.

Yuanyuan.

Why are you still lying there?

No sleeping.

(I'm back again.)

(Twenty years old.)

(The year I became the Princess's study companion.)

I poured everything

(Princess of Great Yue, Yun Fang) I've learned into this letter.

I have to win Fu Yang's heart.

Got it?

I want you to go to Qingyan Palace

and deliver a letter for me.

Remember,

you must hand it to Fu Yang personally.

Do you understand?

Fu Yang will surely be moved when he reads it.

(I'm He Xiaoyuan.)

(My father is a fifth-rank official.)

(I have a secret.)

(Whenever I fail to win the Crown Prince's love,)

(I return to the age of twenty.)

(Back to those happy days when Father, Mother, and my sister)

(were all still with me.)

(So I could once again see)

(my family, who passed away far too soon,)

(I've relived the same fate thirty-three times.)

(I kept this secret)

(for a very long time.)

(Until)

(that ruthless killer,)

(the monster who slaughtered everyone in the palace thirty-three times,)

(the Seventh Prince, Zhao Boqing,)

(turned everything upside down.)

When you're reborn next time,

come find me at once.

I'll teach you how to win a man's heart.

Remember it well!

Our fates are bound together,

and he wants to teach me how to win the Crown Prince's heart.

How touching.

But the problem is,

I actually

don't want to pursue the Crown Prince at all.

Without the letter,

I won't have to go to Qingyan Palace.

And I won't have to see that monster either.

He Xiaoyuan,

you're a genius.

Miss Xiaoyuan.

Miss Xiaoyuan.

(Fu Yang, Zhao Boqing's Study Companion) The Seventh Prince

has been waiting for you for quite some time.

(Qingyan Palace)

I told you to come see me as soon as you were reborn.

Why didn't you?

I...

I'm afraid I won't be able to do it well.

Your Highness,

you should find another person who's been reborn.

I'm too foolish.

I've failed to win him over for thirty-three lifetimes.

I...

I'll never be able to win the Crown Prince's heart.

If I could replace you,

I would've done it long ago.

How absurd.

My grand ambitions

depend entirely on a fool like you.

Pick it up.

Timid and meek.

You'll never amount to anything.

He Xiaoyuan.

Listen carefully.

That position of Crown Princess

must be yours even if you're as dumb as a pig.

I... I understand.

You should know very well

what the Crown Prince likes.

After thirty-three lifetimes,

has it never occurred to you

to do something about that face of yours?

Answer me.

My parents said

I'm beautiful just the way I am.

Your parents really knew how to fool a simpleton.

Come with me.

(Mu Tingting, Top Courtesan of Ruanhong Pavilion)

Your Highness.

Why did you bring me here?

Don't you want to win Zhao Junyao's heart?

In this lifetime,

you'll follow her example

and become the next Mu Tingting before she does.

Only then

can you make him fall in love with you.

Good.

Hurry up and come here.

What are you gawking at?

Come pour the wine.

Practice.

I'm sorry, Your Highness.

I'll wipe it off for you.

I told you to pour the wine.

Who told you to get so fancy with it?

I... I didn't mean to.

Come here.
