Up from the depths, 30 stories high, breathing fire, his head in the sky,
got Taylor, got Taylor, got Taylor, and got Zoot!
Just think, it's the world's youngest island.
It's only been ten years since the volcano pushed it up out of the sea.
That's why the computer data we're picking up from the island scientific
station is so important.
Brock, you'd better get the dinghy ready for launch.
Right, Captain.
Brock, can I come along?
Sure.
Okay, Zip. Come along, but don't get in the way.
Thanks for the help, Zookie. That's the fastest that old scow has ever gone.
Now, Zookie, you stay with the boat while Pete and I pick up the tapes.
Carl, look out there by the island.
There's a bloom of smoke coming from the water.
I see it. And I'm afraid it's the start of another volcanic eruption.
You're right. And the boys are in big danger if they don't get off that island
in a hurry.
Brock, what's that?
Looks like a volcanic eruption.
We'd better get back to the dinghy and fast.
The whole island's starting to shake,
Pete. Look out!
Help us, Gatsuki!
Oh no!
Now we're all trapped!
Look! It's closing up on us!
Hang in there.
Afternoon Adventures will make it back.
It's just gonna take a minute.
must have gotten into real trouble.
Godzilla's on his way.
Hang on, Pete. This ledge is about to collapse.
It's Godzilla.
Wow, he opened it up again.
Everybody grab his fingers, quick.
We'll be all right. Now the eruption has subsided. Those seismological tapes that
the boys brought back could have predicted that eruption for us. But we
just didn't pick them up in time.
Seahorses! But they're as big as real horses!
That's really strange.
Seahorses aren't supposed to grow any bigger than goldfish.
A giant jellyfish!
Wow! That thing's as big as a whale!
Something weird's going on here.
Captain Majors! Captain Majors! Look!
I don't believe it. Look at the size of that giant jellyfish, Quinn.
What do you make of that?
There must be something in these waters that's causing it to grow far beyond its
normal size.
But what could it be?
I don't know.
Maybe it has something to do with that volcanic eruption.
We'd better make an aerial survey.
Rock, get the minicopter ready. Yes, sir.
I'll go with him.
We'll soon know how serious this is.
If that volcano erupts again, head right back for the ship.
Dr. Darian, look!
I see them.
All kinds of sea creatures suddenly become giants.
What's going on?
I wish I knew, Brock.
Head over to the new volcano.
Maybe we can get some answers there.
Dr. Gary, look at the side of that crater. What's that?
It's not lava, that's for sure.
It's some substance that's welling up from deep inside the Earth.
You think that might be what's affecting the sea creatures?
I sure do. But we'll have to get a sample. Let's head back for the calico.
And we'll take the mini-sub out to reconnoiter the volcano area.
Brock, watch out! What is that thing?
A giant mermaid.
Captain Majors!
Captain Majors!
We're...
We read you, Quinn.
I'm calling him now.
Some giant blind thing is trying to knock the...
Here it comes again, Dr. Darien. Hang on!
What happened?
It hit our tail rotor!
We're going down!
Godzilla! He saved us just in time!
Sounds as though we don't have much time, Quinn.
You're right, Carl. If those beasts get loose in the shipping lanes... We'll
have a worldwide disaster.
What can we do, Aunt Quinn?
First, we must get a sample of that mysterious purple liquid.
But how?
Any one of those creatures could wreck a mini-sub. I know, but it's a risk we
have to take.
Let me go. I can do it. Not alone, Brock.
It'll take two of us. All right, Quinn, but be careful.
Let's go, Brock.
We don't want to tangle with one of those giants if we can avoid it. Look at
the size of that starfish.
Incredible.
I see a break in the coral reef up ahead.
We can go through there to reach the volcano.
Good. The sooner we get our sample and get out of here, the better.
And here's the crater.
So far, so good.
Temperature of the water is rising fast near the crater. It's over 80 degrees
out there.
Dr. Darien, look.
That tropical fish is eating the purple stuff.
And look at it grow.
That's exactly what I expected to see, Brock.
The combination of the lava-heated water and that purple liquid from the volcano
is what is making giants of all these creatures.
Now be careful, Dr. Darien.
That was close.
Get those engines going, Brock.
Right.
Faster, Brock. That crab is chasing us.
Dr. Darien, it's got one of our control vanes. And it's dragging us down.
I'll radio for help.
Calico. Come in, Carl.
Calling the Calico.
Brock, there's no answer. And I know why. That crab just sheared off our
radio antenna.
Take a breather. We'll be back with more action on Cartoon Network.
That's all the power we've got, Dr. Darien.
At least we've stopped it from pulling us into its cave.
But the engines, they're overheating.
If they burn out, we'll have to abandon ship.
That crab doesn't like those afterburners. Look.
No wonder. That metal is sizzling hot.
He's got hold of a hot potato, and we'll make it hotter.
You were right, Brock. We're free. Good thinking.
Now let's get back to the calico.
Stand clear.
Wow, the mini-sub's all banged up. What happened?
We'll tell you later, Pete. Right now, we've got to run this purple substance
through some lab tests.
This substance is a rich concentration of life-sustaining chemicals. A
superfood. So that's what's causing the sea creatures to grow.
That, plus the unusually warm water around the volcano. That sets off the
rapid growth reaction.
What are you doing, Dr. Darian? A little experiment.
The goldfish is growing!
But if I'm correct, this ice water should reverse the process.
It did!
The goldfish shrunk.
What have you found out, Quinn? It is some kind of super nutrient, and it's
definitely causing the growth of the sea creatures.
Our problem right now is to keep those creatures out of the sea lanes.
When we were in the mini-sub, Captain Majors, we saw a huge circular reef that
might be used to pin them in. Good idea, Brock. But how could we get them in
there? Maybe like they do out west with cattle, Quinn.
Have a roundup. An underwater roundup? That's right.
We'll fit the two mini subs with electric shields to operate like giant
cattle prods and herd all the creatures right into that underwater corral you
saw. It's a wild idea and dangerous besides, but it just might work.
Let's try it.
Rock and I have our mini subs in position, Quinn.
You read me?
Loud and clear, Carl. We'll help all we can to spot the creatures from up here.
Quinn, look!
Carl, there's a herd of giant seahorses just ahead of you. Thanks, Quinn.
Let's go, Brock.
There they are, Captain.
Activate electric shields.
Shields activated.
Keep them moving straight ahead to the reef entrance.
Yes, sir.
There goes the stray.
I'll get him.
The shield should work, Captain.
Get along, little sea doggy.
Nice maneuvering, Brock.
That electricity is just enough to prod them along without hurting them.
We got them, Captain.
Yahoo! Good work, Brock.
But now we have to keep them there.
Gwyn, send Godzuki to guard the corral entrance.
While we hunt down the other creatures.
Roger.
We've got to get on with the drive.
Hey,
Quinn, look down there.
More giant fish.
Carl, two more schools of giant sea beasts off your starboard bow.
We see them, Quinn. Let's go, Brock.
Let's herd them all.
great shock to deal with here captain
major
are you okay i'm fine brock godzuki's here to help me you keep that herd
moving
And just in time. Look down there.
Wow!
Carl, we're spotting a large group of giant electric eels. They're due west
corral, traveling at five knots.
Thanks, Quinn. We're on our way.
so be ready for trouble. An ordinary eel packs hundreds of bolts, so every one of
these giants is a powerhouse.
I read you, Captain.
I'll be careful.
Activate your electric shield.
Yes, sir. We've got a stray, Brock. I'll take him.
Captain, watch out!
They've got too much power, Brock!
It zapped out my... electrical shield back off we
got me too i'm out of control we don't have a chance
i'm calling godzilla
it's
godzilla carl and brock must have sent for him mini subs are no match for those
giant eels
did you see that captain now it's their turn to get shorted out
Heading toward Godzilla.
But look at our corral.
Wow, they're still growing.
I should have expected that. Because they're still feeding on that super
nutrient. Come in, Carl.
I read you, Quinn. Those creatures are still growing. They'll soon burst right
out of that corral.
I know.
Can't cut off the food supply.
But we can cool the waters and reverse the growth process.
Cool the waters?
We'd need an iceberg.
You guessed it, Carl.
Have Godzuki come up and tell Godzilla to get us a big berg from the South
Pole. Will do.
I sure hope Godzilla gets back here soon, Aunt Quinn.
Carl, how's the situation down there?
Not much time before the creatures break out of here.
That's the last of the super nutrient.
Look! Zuki and I caught a tiny seahorse!
Oh, Zuki!
Here we go again.
Don't go anywhere.
Afternoon Adventures is coming right back.
The Afternoon Adventure continues with Captain Planet next.
Pay close attention, because the good captain's going to give you some advice.
But not till after he's through wrestling the bad guys.
